After cashing out and proceeding to suck at poker I have been toying around a little in the lower limits (50nl, 100nl). Playing there I have had the pleasure of playing some lpers. I just realized lp is full of damn nits! Jesus christ!
Ok, you dont want to get fancy and you dont want to play LAG at these stakes. But 12/8/3 is NOT solid 6-max stats. FFS you guys seriously need to loosen up a bit. It will make the transition to higher stakes much smoother and you are loosing so much value by nitting it up.
Playing these stakes also made me realize why i can crush 100nl so easy and still have problem with 200nl and 400nl. Playing 25/23/7~ works sooo good on 100nl just because players are so weak and nitty. On 200nl there are so many more loose passive type of players making a 7 agression factor a spew, so Im working on lowering my agression where there is no FE.
Once again, just a friendly advice to you nitty low/midstakes players. Loosen up a bit! Dont go nuts just raise liberal in position and stab at a few more pots and you will see your winrate skyrocket.
On another note. I havent shaved in like 2 weeks and DAMN im so ugly having what little beard i get. I look like a 14year old with attitude problems. I would put up a picture but Im quite sure none of you would ever talk to me again after that so I wont.

I'm doing very well with 22/14, but I'm at 25 NL; don't know if the LAG you are advocating would work down there. |

Well, im not necessarily advocating a LAG style since I think thats too hard to play at lower stakes. More like standard TAG for 6-max or maybe on the looser side of TAG. |

basically just implementing some more real poker to the set hunting nut peddling routine, playing like a nit early position is fine, doing it in late position is terrible |

question: how loose is loose when you're talking about button/co raising? i raise down to suited gappers, as well as suited aces and suited kings that make straights. should i start doing unsuited connectors as well?
also i find myself getting a lot of c-bets called. i guess i have to be more sensitive to the table dynamic?
if you are playing say 20/15, or maybe a little looser 22/18 are you better off playing at tables with really low vpip since they are more likely to be nitty, or higher since they will call preflop raises more loosely (although for the same reason they will call c-bets more loosely too) |

Like you said, it depends on the table dynamic. If say one weak player has limped and the blinds are both relatively weak players I raise any two remotely connecting cards, suited or off suit. But if the blinds or the limper/s are loose passive or agressive players there is no use in playing hands that dont have great flop potential. And try to identify the players that dont know how to fold and dont c-bet into them except on maybe really good boards like A22 or something.
I personally like playing tables with high vpip but low average pot. Those usually consists of alot of loose passive players that limp a ton of hands preflop. So much dead money to pick up with late position raises and they are mostly easy to run over. Its fine and easy to play tables with low vpip aswell, since you can run over and frustrate nitty ppl into doing misstakes.
Just remember to addapt to the tables properly, and dont steal and raise to much. Try to find a balance so you can pick up alot of dead money without frustrating ppl into not giving you any credit at all. |
