Hey guys, I just started learning about bitcoin etc, going to start using it as they took off the Visa Fast Pay @Bovada.

Is it easy to turn bitcoin into dollars?

I started looking at bitcoin wallets and found a million different ones, they are like banks or w/e, anyways, whats the best?

Is there one thats way better than the others?

Any with extra benefits?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thank you,
Ryan

he wants to turn "bitcoin" into dollars so more likely he's dealing

It seems to be not very profitable in the long run to play those kind of hands. - Gus Hansen

Some popular wallets are not cool with poker transactions so you gotta be careful there. I used Circle.com, a reputable brand recommended for poker players to try out back on BlackChip, worked just fine. I'd probably use them again too for Bovada.

Basically the moment you make the deposit via bitcoin the poker site should convert it into dollars for you. So it leaves your wallet and goes to them. Same thing in reverse, when you withdraw it should go back to your circle account, but it would remain in bitcoin form there. You could either let it sit and see if the value of BTC goes up or something and you make a little profit, or you can just have them convert it to $$$ using current exchange rates and direct deposit it into your checking account, which is what I imagine you would want to do as a regular poker player.

You don't want to use any of the exchange as a wallet. Circle is not a wallet and sending/receiving btc from a gambling site to an exchange won't be the brightest idea.

www.localbitcoins.com to find some people in your area for person to person bitcoin transfers

there is some 2+2 transfers or just advertising here if you want to do bitcoin for BOA or w/e

What is the best way to move bitcoin to an exchange?

ex. in Neily situation you withdraw bovada -> electrum

then from here do you go directly electrum -> exchange?

or do you want to first once remove yourself and go electrum -> send to yourself into a fresh bitcoin account (could be another account created by electrum within you original wallet? or just to another wallet) -> and then to exchange

I've heard of some version of these methods being used to protect oneself but its not totally clear to me when it should be used and exactly how to do it.

Bank > Exchange > Blockchain(wallet) > Bovada > Blockchain > Exchange > Bank is fine. Bitcoin is not anonymous however it is pseudonymous. Every transaction is recorded in the Blockchain ledger and you can see the logs with few clicks. I personally tumble all my coins after coinbase closed my account but I've yet to hear accounts being closed going from wallet to exchange.

NewbSaibot - Circle is a online banking with fiat currency. They hold your money and store it for you. Wallet is your own personal storage in the Blockchain where only you can access the coins.

NewbSaibot   United States. Jul 15 2016 02:13. Posts 4943

Circle acts as a wallet for you though, it is just an online centralized wallet so you dont have to worry about keeping your private key and password on you. Any transaction you make through a site like Circle will end up in the blockchain. The only risk is if Circle gets hacked like other online wallets have.

yes. use a new input address everytime you receive coins if you don't want to be tracked that easy.

with Coinbase you can sell directly with BOA after linking those accounts, it looks great, its $4.95 for $500 not bad, what do you guys think of this? Should I sell to others or straight to my bank?

Thanks,
Ryan
