i swear i dont eat pizza, buffalo wings and perogies every day. when im eating healthy its pretty easy to get into a routine in vancouver.

average day:
oatmeal with berries+nuts from urban fare
banana with almond butter smeared on it for snack
chicken or salmon with rice+veggies for lunch
walnuts or pistachios for a snack
pineapple, mango, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries to pick on intermittently
2-3 hardboiled eggs as a snack
sushi, mostly sashimi with some edamame (beans are good protein+fiber).

if you can try to check out licious vancouver ( http://www.liciousliving.com/main/ ), they have some good protein+fiber heavy meals that give you good energy. i personally think paleo is a little too limiting, think people need carbs, just not heavy on the refined sugars. but eating a diet that has plenty of nuts, fruits, veggies, chicken+salmon and some complex carbs like lentils or brown rice is the way to go to feel energized and be able to perform well in the gym as well

Subway markets as being healthy and might be better than some of the other fast food options but the bread and some other ingredients they use has HFCS. If the company is okay with having HFCS in their so-called healthy sandwiches, their overall standard of healthiness is not very high.

Wish they had liciousliving when i was living in vancouver, looks really nice. 30-40 / day for high quality healthy food is the nuts.

I tried going Paleo for a couple months and while I enjoy meat/fish and fruits and vegetables I simply couldnt eat enough to maintain my weight and was fading away, I think a strong emphasis on that combined with carbs in moderation is probably the best, especially if you are working out, Im no expert tho and this is just my personal preference.

Same tried paleo pretty hard to stick to. My advice is just to cook your own food and you should be fine add more vegetables and don't eat white bread...

you could always just increase the intensity of your workouts and throw in some running too. as of now benching your weight and squating almost 2x seems awesome =D

When i tried to eat lowcarb diet or paleo i tilted like crazy over a bad beat - i slammed the keyboard into the wall and yelled at everyone in the room + wrote a lot of bullshit in the chat.

I dont recommend it, doesnt seem like a good combination

carb back loading, paleo is good for extremely fat people and for an initial switch to eating tons of meat, but to put on muscle and lean out from 14% bf on you need the carbs a few times a week depending on how hard you train.
It's really convenient since I only eat 3 meals a day, and most of the food is after gym, when it should be.

I'm 1.70, 81kg (10-12% bf, working on that atm ;p), bench 145kg, Squat 210 and DL 255. Not pt or nutritionist, but powerlifter competitor that also plays poker.

Would happily help you out or at least annoy you on skype for a lesson ;p

Sure. Figure out your calories needed to maintain. Bump up by 500 cals a day. Plan your meals out, cook them in advance. Problem solved.

We had a pretty good food thread a few months ago, here's the link, in case you missed it.
