Merge dumped a lot of skins because they are trying to kill rakeback. I dont think you can even sign up for a new merge skin and get rakeback now. Bovada seems to be pretty fishy, but they anonymize all players (everyone at the table is simply labeled Player1, Player2, Player3, etc), you cant use any stat software or HUD's, you cant play more than 4 tables at a time, and there are no waiting lists (full tables are simply invisible, you cant join a queue and wait for a juicy table). All of this is to annoy grinders and entice only fish to play. Does it work? I dunno. I busted $600 on there at 1/2NL and saw mostly random stacked players and what would appear to be very loose/bad play. Never really saw anybody reloading or other signs that they might be pro. Considering how frustrating it was even for me to play there, I'd say it does a good job at driving away regs. Of course you have to wonder how many are saying the same things I am and choose to play there precisely because it is a fish pond.
Someone of your stature could probably determine the skill of your competition much better than I, so I'd give it a shot and see what happens. |
