1k Bankroll by angryfishes, September 03

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/4303592e9e1f6b308a02dcf0aae38419.jpg

i know its nothing compared to the better players on this site, but nevertheless this is a milestone for me and im really happy! i started playing on stars 2 weeks ago with $70bucks and i have been playing alot! 30k hands maybe.

started today with $840 and 9 tabeled for like 8 hours. pt3 didnt work today so i had to pay extra attention to the tables. of course the suck outs were plentiful with the most retarded hand being me QQ opening pf to $2 flop comes 776r. i pot, donk calls. turn is 8. now my read based on how fast he called the flop is this donk is on a wk str draw so i overbet $24(his remaining stack) into the $10 pot. Of course the retard calls and the river comes an 8. and his hole cards are 8 10o giving him trips. perfect read perfect play fucking riduclous result.

anyway i can beat nl25 and nl50 now and im really happy about that. did some thinking the other day to fix my leaks and it has been smooth sailing all the way. not as awesome as dragonzplay but im not complaining. so i have been opening 1-2 tables of 50nl when my br hit 800 and omg there are some ridiculous fish which you dont even see at nl25! i have been selecting games very carefully and i think thats the #1 important thing to always do.

so i can play 50nl now with 20 buyins and i hope like lachlan, one day soon i can do a 10k boom bankroll post. i would put up graphs but PT3 isnt working with the new stars update atm, and my database is in build 2 and not beta 17

for now, im going to take a break and go back to my studies.

p.s i did try posting some 'advice' on the forums and got totally owned. ouch! im not whining, they have a point and are better players than i am for sure so i guess my thinking just isnt as advanced as them yet. so i shall only give 'advice' in the stakes ive beaten from now on.

MSNL to Busto? by PanoRaMa, September 03

I post blog entries so infrequently that I doubt anyone's going to read this, but I'm quite possibly the worst player in the world right now, or at least I feel like it. It's actually come to the point where I'm immensely close to quitting poker altogether and have to start thinking about my alternatives for making money. If you go through my posts for the past several months you'll see nothing but the same whining and losing that has perpetuated til now. I'm officially a break-even, if not losing, player after once being able to break 200nl on FTP for 5.5ptbb over 200k hands. I won't get into details, the gist of it can be found in my earlier posts. But basically

- Since I didn't post an august results thread, I'm probably down somewhere between 3k and 4k in August alone.
- I've effectively broken even starting March, which comes out to around 180k hands or so of breakeven. I would post a graph but hands prior to May have been lost, and I'm nowhere near my desktop right now which contains all my hands since then, bu feel free to peruse previous entries.
- I'm also in quite a bit of a financial situation, which means I need to cash out the remainder of my operating roll and possibly find a stake from my higher stakes friends.

Currently I'm in Japan on the vacation of my life (yes this trip did kinda contribute to my financial situation, I'm not making excuses or anything ) and have played a bunch of poker here on my off days and have been getting absolutely manhandled at 200 and 100nl.

This is kinda one giant whine entry now that I think about it, so I'll quit complaining. To wrap up, basically within a month I should be able to figure out whether or not I want to quit this game for good (because all the time wasted and emotional strain this game gives me is no good whatsoever for me, I'd rather focus on my other forms of income). For the time being, I'm effectively BUSTO! GL to me.

Random stuff by Kapol, September 02

NL200 HU still going extremely g00t.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/f1b13321661c78f2536a3d4618134d63.jpg

Non-poker wise, I've been to Gdansk a few days ago in order to participate in a national pool billiards tournament. Everything went as planned, I finished 2nd out of five players in my group and I advanced to the next stage, where I lost 3:6 to a better player. I still practice a ton, so I'm calm about my results in the future. The plan is to be in the top 32 by the end of next year. So far I'm in 83rd place. Long way to go, but it's definitely doable.

On another note, I decided to watch all movies I haven't seen, that were nominated for the most prestigious Oscar starting with the 1990 Academy Awards. So far I made it to 1995. If anyone feels like watching some good cinema, I'd like to recommend a few titles, which are my favorites thus far (I'm not mentioning the universally known movies, like Shawshank):
Field of Dreams
Driving Miss Daisy
Awakenings
Goodfellas
Beauty and the Beast
Unforgiven
Scent of a Woman
A Few Good Men
In the Name of the Father
Schindler's List

Also, I downloaded TOCA Race Driver 3 :D. Gonna probably spend a shitload of time playing it in the nearest future . Wanted to play Race Driver: GRID, but I had problems with steering and I couldn't fix it T_T.

Micro Stakes Bad Beats by SugoGosu, September 02

So I was averaging about 5 buyins a day for the past 2 days, made $110 in about 8k hands at 0.05/0.10 and i thought i was doing well. Then shit hit the fan

I'm running 11buy ins less than what i should be according to HEM.

Apparently, the past 5 of my sets have ran into rivered flushes or straights. Followed by flopped or turned straights into river flushes.

Today I had 6 80% favored to win hands run like shit and lose. Oh man, I'm down 8 Buy ins in the past 2 days. I hope this will end soon, so I can get into NL25 soon.

Again, a semi-bump - please check the post below cause that got knocked off the front page super fast. But I also wanna share this video clip with everyone where the McCain campaign had trouble explaining what experience Sarah Palin actually has... plus McCain was so upset about the "out of bounds" attack journalism (hahah omg cry more about NOTHING) that he CANCELED his appearance on Larry King Live in retaliation! LOLZ!!!

Oops I jinxed it by thewh00sel, September 02

So i guess it's bad to bragpost about something before it's over. I was up about 50k online in august and 8k live and took a shot at the 10/20 live game and lost a big pot with TT vs KT on a KT4 board all in on flop etc etc river king. then i played a bit online and dropped about 4500 at the cash games giving me a grand total of a 13k loss right at the end of the month. Oh well, make that the 2nd best month ever, + 45k for august.

I'll try to avoid month recaps in the future until the month has ended =]

August by Shad, September 02

I started August with the intention of mass grinding 6-max NL25. That quickly went to shit however as I got food poisoning and had to miss work for 8 days or so. Since I could barely move or think I decided to grind some donkaments instead. I had a lot of minor cashes in larger mtts but couldn't get a decent score. However I took down some half decent prizes in the 180 man stars mtts, highlights:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/6d6fd9d9c2e3f781195ff9f669366e1c.jpg

Anyway I got back to playing NL25 a week or so ago, I'm totally dissapointed because I played like shit and managed to tilt several times- not to mention 15k hands is really nothing.. I can't really complain because I still finished up, but my winnings should really be 3x this:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/9fd77ab983c629fd9878325066821c8e.jpg

One day I decided to play super loose on one table (like 33/30+ and constantly 3 betting etc). I just wanted to see how other players adjusted and reacted. So sick the amount of action you can get playing like that. Anyway that session culminated in this hand:

+ Show Spoiler +

I haven't played any donkaments since that spree aside from the Sunday hundred grand. This month I'm going to properly knuckle down and make sure I get 40k or so hands in. Aims for September are to move up to NL50 and to get GoldStar.

Gl everyone.

All good things come towards an end by iop, September 02

Playing well

Today
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/93fbb36818b89d9962531e12c24f27b2.jpg

Some Hands:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/516960 -
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/516909 - This sucks
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/516809 - Building image is great, when people start to make mistakes
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/516384 - I swear to god nobody runs worse than me when its Ax vs a lower Ax
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/516388 - same faggot
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/516361 - God can I ever find a fold button here?

+ about 3 allin flips which I never seem to be able to win. A couple of bad plays vs shortstacks, had a good HU session that saved yesterday, and had a good hu session where this kid took 4 buyins in 100 hands and left, and here I am.

I swear to god, if anybody asks me how poker is going I am just going to shut up, I can never have a good run, and enjoy it - somebody has to fucking kick me in the face saying "Hey iop, this was a taste of you thinking you are playing good, here; let me introduce you to variance"

So please suck my dick, and have a nice day!

Last day by tloapc, September 02

It's the last session for me in the prop bet
I'm 20 buyins away and I have 8 hours to make it

graph
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/9bc11a61dc1d3479441842b875f73c52.jpg

time has flown and I learned an immense amount from this either way
the practically break even stretch that you see has me running at a total of 4 bb/100 (3.95)
I still think I can actually make it, I would just need the 65%+ hands to hold up at least half the time
so back at it I go

take care and gl all

Cooler session by Tycho, September 02

So started the session with -300$ in like 50 hands, get it up to +100$ after 500 hands, then proceed to lose AA vs AKs, and then this hand happened. Too bad. Opponnent and I had some history so folding wasnt an option, still sucks because minraise flop / pot turn pretty much means only one thing. Might have folded it if the session was going a bit better.

WTF by Yaffie, September 02

Just had my first losing session in over a month. Tilting pretty badly - I'm not used to this shit.

I lost KK vs JT in a 3bet pot, all in on turn. he rivered 2 pair.
I lost JJ vs a 80/40 maniac's QQ all in pf.
I lost QQ vs J9 when he flopped trips and slowplayed them to death.
I lost AQ vs slowplayed set of 7s twice on Q high flops
I lost QJ vs AJ on a QJx flop
I lost A7 to 24 when he 2 paired the river after bluffing me on the turn.
I lost 99 to 44 all in on the flop. He turned and rivered a straight.
I lost AJ to K9 on a AAK flop. He turned and rivered a flush.
I lost JJ to 88 all in on flop. He turned and rivered a straight.

Oh well I'd be up without this shit. Instead a got an ugly motherfucking dip in my beautfiul graph
