God I want to throw my mouse at the wall. I just typed up this big chunk of text and I accidentally hit the button on my mouse which makes the browser go back.

Anyways, summary:
1. Took shots at 50NL, first 3 were horrible.
2. 20K+ hand breakeven swingy stretch which was so frustrating.
3. Finally started winning again, got rolled for 50NL again, took a fourth shot. Fourth shot very successful and have been only winning on 50NL since.
4. Roll reached 2K yesterday meaning I was rolled for 100NL. Took a shot where I ran bad and played even worse. -2.2 BI.
5. Either way, still $1K+ month which is pretty cool. This is only the beginning.
6. Can't help but realize that I could be shipping so much more if I fix my leaks and stop doing stupid shit from time to time. Don't really know how I should go about figuring this out but if anyone would like to offer some guidance I would be deeply grateful.

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y152/lazymeJ/monthstats.jpg

I know my 50NL BB/100 is not at all impressive but keep in mind it includes my previous shots at 50NL where I lost a large amount of money. Anyways it seems my stats kind of suck.. I find that when I play longer sessions my stats are good at the beginning-middle and are a solid ~22/18 however as the session goes on I find I start to tighten up and it falls to like 19/16. Also I think my W$WSF needs to be higher, as does my turn and river aggression. How can I get my aggression after the flop higher? What happens a lot of the time is my cbet will get called and I don't know where I'm at on the turn so I check behind a lot unless I have a strong read that he doesn't have shit. How do you guys do it? So ya, if anyone would like to help me sometime that would be awesome. PplusAD used to teach me a lot but I haven't seen him on lately and he's busy with MMA stuff.

So all in all, pretty interesting month and it's nice to be getting out of micros

My September~_~ by mikyor, September 30

I finished September pretty strong. It makes me quite happy. The graph is something like 9.6k hands of NL50 and 1.6k or so of NL100. I won one of those 5,000FPP Sunday Million Turbo Qualifiers, so another $200 and cleared my $240 bonus. Bankroll is quite happy too.

September Results by TenBagger, September 30

I think September has been my best month ever, both in terms of volume and winnings

http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/2984/septembermy5.th.jpg

$7550 + $1300 in rakeback = a net profit of $8850 for the month. I was up over 10K a couple days ago but had a -12 BI downswing to end the month. I never thought I could make that kind of money playing NL100 part time. I think I've improved my game a bit but I still want another month of beating NL100 at better than 10bb/100 (5ptbb/100) before moving up.

So I saw a nice apartment on the 26th of September and I decided to just go for it and I signed the lease on Saturday and moved in yesterday. Since I have other sources of income, I just treat poker money as a nice bonus so I figured I should treat myself to nice new apartment. The rent is $2500 a month for a small 1 bedroom, but it has floor to ceiling windows, central a/c and heat, new stainless steel appliances, a washer/dryer, and a private keyed elevator entrance. Considering a was paying $1800 a month for a crappy shithole, I think it's a good value... But only in NY.

September by rANDY, September 30

September was a pretty good month, rebuilt well from a pretty inactive summer poker wise, hopefully be rolled for NL200 within a few weeks, finding NL100 quite easy, got to stop trying to make so many hero calls though ^.^

September 08 by Joe, September 30

I havent updated my blog in quite a while, so I thought now that September ended, it is a good time for some update.

First a quick word about August:
In August I was travelling throughout Spain, Portugal and south France in my car with a few friends from high school. It was a very cool trip, we drove like 11.5k kilometer and visited almost every important city/place in Spain. We also made a quick detour to Maroco, which was my first time being in Africa ever I might post a few pictures once I get them.

I played close to zero hours of poker during the entire month, but I still somehow managed to end up +$500 for the month in poker

Now lets move to September.
So I came back home for September after being abroad for more than 11 weeks (except for a few days inbetween). I was going to play a lot of poker and was looking forward to it I was also about to go back to school after half year's break.

With the school it went kind of complicated, I dont want to go into details, but everything should have been sorted out by last friday and so far it is still not unclear whether or not I am actually coming back or not for this semester. We shall see

With poker I indeed played quite a lot, putting in almost 50k hands, which is a lot by my standards as I usually only play around 30-35k hands. I also put up a challenge for myself in the beginning of the month to make 30k VIP points on Unibet, which ensures me 50% rakeback. It was a tough goal as I never made more than about 18k before. It was kinda tough but I made it I had to play like 12 hours of 6-8 tabling in the last two days though, which was kinda sick for me.

Also, in the middle of the month I attended a live tournament in Casino di Campione, close to Milan, Italy. It was a 1,500 euro freezeout and I was being sponzored for this by Unibet Unfortunately I didnt make it to the money, but it was still a very nice trip. And btw, the cashgames there are pure sickness, I can recommend it to anyone. Eventhough they have uncapped rake, which is kinda sick for a 10/20 CHF game (1 CHF is almost 1 USD, like 0.9x), the game is sickeningly soft because most players there are very loose / very passive who pay any amount for any draw, no matter what.

Btw, does anyone else think that 10 CHF (Swiss Frank) looks like a playmoney note? We all agreed on that with my friends.

Ok enough rambling, lets go to the results:
http://www.pokergamers.cz/joe/poker_sep08.gif

Final result: +$22,680 - finally I had a 20k+ month again, after long 5 months. I am quite happy with this result, eventhough my goal for the month was slightly higher (+25k). I think I ran slighly below expectation though, especially in the 2nd half of the month.

Looking forward to October, it has been my best poker month of the year in both 2007 and 2006, so we shall see if this continues to 2008 - I hope it will!

Quick September Summary by Tycho, September 30

Ok as for my September goals:

- I played 31k hands (I had 20k as a starting goal). Next month I will aim for at least 25k hands and see if I easily make it again.
- I'm being coached now and thus started focusing more on improving my game, which will definately help me move up.
- I made 2.3k - paid 360$ to coach + 800$ in rakeback = 2.7k
- I started September with a BR of 4.3k , now I am at 6.4k (I lost 600$ from playing HU / Tourneys / whatever).
- Still a 50 % increase of BR so I guess I'm happy even though my winrate kind of sucked. I didn't run too well though and I'm sure next month will be better.

http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr126/Tycho4Ever/SeptemberStats.jpg

http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr126/Tycho4Ever/SeptemberGraph.jpg

October goals:

- Play strictly 6max and really work hard on improving my game
- Stick to NL200 until I have 14k (so probably the entire next month)
- No shots / silly HU sessions / Tournaments
- Work really hard on table selection, try to play as many hours as possible on weekends

Question to people who bothered to read:

I might go and try another site than Full Tilt because I seem to play at times where there are mostly tough tables during mondays - thursdays. So maybe a euro site with lots of traffic and good rakeback, can anyone recommend something?

Thank you for reading and GL at the tables!

liquid so far by remember87, September 30

Because I didnt post a result for august when I joined LP I now post my results so far (since I started playing at FTP, 6 weeks ago).
I didnt know I managed to play 60k hands so I am happy with that. The past 2 weeks hasnt been that productive though.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/b5f546b5fee5978bc3815a8e2ef9472e.jpg

I am up about 4300$ in play and gotten about 1600$ in rakeback (included september). Excluded RB thats about 3BB/100, which is not bad but not good either. Why I´m a bit happy is becuase I had a downswing (you see that pretty easy on the chart ) where I played bad and was a bit unlucky.

In NL100 I played 17/13/3 over 50k hands and so far in NL200 I´ve played 18/14/3. I could loosen up some more but w/e.

I am longing to put in some hours in October at NL200 so I can improve my game and eventually move up to NL400!

September... by Yugless, September 30

was miserable, my first non-winning month in as long as I can remember. I took like a week off to start the month, then ran horribly when I started playing, and that started to affect me as I just couldn't string together any good days. I ran badly, and I played badly. As bad as september was though, it actually gave me more confidence because everything went bad and I still broke even.

I think it would be good to have a student. It helps me get better when I talk things through with people and it would help entertain me on those days when I'm bored and don't feel like playing. A newish full ring player who hasn't been toiling at low stakes forever would be kool. I won't charge anything as it's mostly for my own benefit. If anyone is interested pm me.

finally by Remod, September 30

after a big (atleast for me) downswing where I lost about 120$ (nl10) in about 15k hands, today i finally had a good session, earned about 65$ in 2100 hands, so I'm again at 300$ (had about 350 before things got bad).
before downswing I ran pretty good, from 250$ to 350$ in about 10k hands, dont know for sure cause my pt3 trial ended, thats why I dont have any stats either.

anyway I think I'm playing better and better, mostly because of Cro)Deadman whos been sweting me while a was at home, but thing is that whenever I start session good, after some time (about 1k hands) I lose it all, return to breakeven and then start winning again. I dont even know is this only coincidence because I dont see any diference in my game through session but it happens too often just to be coinciddence.

anyway I'm planning to graind preety intensive next few months and I hope soon I'll move to nl25.

Septemberzor by Fayth, September 30

Well I swong a whole lot, was pretty frustrating, 3 times 50k+ downswing, managed to win it back, somehow... either way I'm pretty much breaking even for the past 3 weeks.... Gotta admit that I played pretty badly on many occasions... kinda got overconfident..

Still up 106 000$ for the month so it's all good, hoping to be able to make 100k/month for the next 3 months so i would have a nice year

September is over yes? by SakiSaki, September 30

September sucked. Its my first month as a purely professional player and things definitely didnt go my way. First of all, I played tons of wcoop events and never really got anything going, I cashed in a couple of them but nothing big and i probably dropped about 6k in the wcoop totally given that I bought into the $5200 main event directly.

HU hasnt been going good at all. To summarize, in the first half of the month I played pretty terrible. I tried to maintain dicipline by playing only 2/4 but for some reason I have get this retarded feeling that I somehow "deserve" to play higher and I spew a ton on 2/4 cause it feels like so little money or whatever. Obviously this is such a retarded irresponsible mindset to have and it caused me to make alot of spewy negraneu calls and stuff like that. After doing this for like two weeks on and off I got my shit together and started playing pretty well again. Unfortunately, lady luck decided to punish me for being a retard.

The last two weeks I have been running really bad. I lose all my coinflips, constantly get sucked out on and just keep running into the top of my opponents range. It sucks but I have been getting alot better at asessing if Im running bad or just playing bad, and I am 99% confident that I am running significantly below expectation. It used to tilt me so bad when I had poor results and I kept doubting myself thinking that maybe I was just a terrible poker player and I had been lucky all this time.

I am still in a pretty bad fucking mindset right now though. This month I am break even at 2/4 over 40k hands and that is definitely making me feel pretty worthless. I think if I played my A-game at all times a 40k break even stretch shouldnt even be possible for me. Who knows though, variance in HU is pretty crazy. Poker is so brutal, when you have a killer month you feel like gods gift to poker and just completely indestructible. After two very mediocre months I feel useless and this obv makes me play worse aswell.

It feel pretty shitty to only have made around $5k on my first month as a full time professional poker player. I mean, I dropped out of school because of alot of things but I am playing poker to get rich. That is pretty much the only thing that keeps me doing this. If I was to regularily make 5k a month I would just do something constructive with my life instead. Poker is fun and I enjoy my free time but hey, it isnt that fucking rewarding and I feel that if my bank account isnt rapidly growing poker is just a complete waste of time.

My goal is to make $20k/month atleast, if I cant do that then fuck this game. Owell, no use in weeping of the past, as for the future I have set some goals to keep me motivated etc.

GOAL#1
I really need to stop cashing out so much. The last few months I have just been cashing out compulsively, like, whenever I have a bad session I cash out 2-3k for no real reason that that I feel like it. I think its good cause it helps me save up money but enough is enough. My roll just keeps dwindling down and Im not really rolled for 3/6 anymore. Not that this matters because I cant get action on ipoker 3/6 to save my life. Which brings me to my next goal:

GOAL#2
I want money on multiple sites.
I want to have a roll for 2/4 and 3/6 on atleast three sites. It is pretty easy to get alot of action on 2/4 on ipoker but as I am aiming for 3/6+ I think it is definitely necessary to have money on alot of sites. Basicly, I want to be able to have a solid +4 table HU grind whenever I want. This is definitely not possible on just one site. I want money on stars cause of the good action and my love for the software, the third site will probably be some microgaming site or maybe maybe maybe full tilt. We will see.

GOAL#3
Log 100k hands in october. This is definitely possible since I will be playing mostly 2/4 and I have improved my multitabling skills alot and I can more comfortably 4-5table or even 6-table HU, I also plan to structure my life more with logging three 2 hour sessions each day.

GOAL#4
Work out more bitch! I might have mentioned this in an earlier blogpost but I am planning on running stockholm marathon next summer. Being in the poor poor shape I am in now I definitely need to start running asap. I plan on running 3-4 times a week for starters and hopefully this will help me play better and lead a more happy balanced life in general.

To finish this long rambling post up, I have been doing some coaching recently and I have really been enjoying it. The hourly coach sessions I do have been fun and hopefully educational. What I think I will enjoy even more though is the long term coaching. I have taken on k2o4 as a long term student and even though we havent fully gotten started yet I am very exited. He seems to be a smart guy who definitely is eager to learn so I think this whole coaching thing is going to be an awesome experience for both of us. I cant wait to watch him grow into a 200nl killing machine.

Thats it for now, take care boys and girls

Dublin by PplusAD, September 30

I am here at an Internet location in Dublin writing this blog entry.
internet connection is very slow compared to what i am used in Germany so i wont write too much here )

I arrived in Dublin on Saturday 1pm.
Weather is surprisingly nice. Sunshine and about 15-17C most of the time so far.

girls kinda suck.
It seems that in Ireland 90% fo the girls are fat overweight meatballs .....

Besides that the city is hell a expensive
normal meal in a restaurant standart size is 13€ average
0,5L guiness beer at a lcal pub = 4,50€

This is why by k2o4, September 30

It's funny. When I first started this blog a year ago it was with the idea that I would post all my problem hands from every poker session and hope people gave me advice. That failed very quickly. I then started using it to track results and thoughts and swings and so on (basically what everyone else does). Then the primaries started and I tentatively started blogging about politics. I figured I'd get nothing but negative comments and people would probably just ignore it, cause, this is a poker site not a political one!

Well I was right. At first the only people commenting were people who thought I was stupid, or people who said "who cares?". But I kept posting cause for me, it was a way to prevent my head from exploding. I see all these crazy things, and sometimes good things, and I just need to vent about it. So I run to my blog and throw it down. Sometimes I get views/comments, others it's ignored. Lately there's been a lot more interest though, and a lot more support, so thank you guys for that =)

Anyway, this blog post is titled "This is why" and the end of that sentence is "I support Obama". I've already made a post like this, but I gotta do it again cause Obama has put out another positive ad focusing on the issues and his plan to solve the problems we face, while the Republicans are trying to politicize the bail-out bill that McCain supports and use it against Obama... Two very different approaches to this campaign and Obama's approach impresses me so much more than McCain's.

Obama Campaign Statement:

"For John McCain's party to demagogue a rescue plan that he supports in order to score cheap political points is not only dishonest and dishonorable, it is the height of irresponsibility on a day when we urgently need to pass that plan to prevent an economic catastrophe. So much for country first," said Obama-Biden spokesman Bill Burton.
