Actuall winning day by DustySwedeDude, October 01

I was down like 2k€, ended up like 400€ or so when I cut down to 4 tables. I think I found a nasty habit or two that I should stop too. This month shall be my glorious return! lol

Anyway, got a gym card yesterday too so I'll try to work out 3 or 4 times a week, not go out drinking too often and overall work hard in school too. I'll try to be stronger then my very dear father within a year. Don't think I'll be able to do it, unless I hid my cunning plan from him, but it'd be fun to try.

I'd also like to just say nice things about people today for some reason; so here we go:

Iranian friend of mine who reads this blog:

"Well I hope that someday soon We'll find peace in our lives Together or apart Alone or with our wives And we can stop our whoring And draw the smiles inside And light it up forever And never go to sleep My best unbeaten brother That isn't all I see"

Remmember87 - Even though he doesn't drink and develop tight bonds that way everyone who knows him can tell he really cares about people. If it hadn't been for the fact that he seems to have fun I'd call him a martyr.

Pinball - Still needs to win some donkament or so, I want my share! God damn kid is better then me at playing poker, in better shape and younger. That's inspiring, lol. I'm also fairly envious of his life style.

currently, i'm up to around $100, and I was wondering when should I stop and switch over to cash games.

Sober... by eightfourO, October 01

my head hurts.

not from a hangover... but b/c when i set up the beerpong table, i was getting out from underneath it to unlatch the wings on the table and i slammed my fucking forehead into the leg of the table...theres a big knot.

Anyway last night everyone thought i was on lifetilt drunkiness b/c of poker...this had nothing to do w/ poker. Poker is a game, a hobby...i could care less. My FML post last night had to do with getting my priorities in line and turning my life around b/c i don't like the way i've been living. Theres a lot of things i could do. Baseball is my life, i am flirting with 90 MPH (i'm a pitcher, and 90 is the 4th highest teir in the baseball world...going like 99-102 being 1st, 95-98, 92-94, then 90-91...) Its a goal of mine, i want to play major league baseball. I've wanted to ever since i was 3 years old. I've been playing for 16 years. I'm lucky enough that God has given me talent. I throw 89-90 MPH and it's a good 89-90. However, this is only God-given talent. I haven't worked at it to get better since my freshman year. This could potentially be my last year to play. I have 2 more years of eligibility left, but there are only two 4-year schools talking to me and one of them doesn't have the major i would like to have. I don't know, there's other stuff that i'm not going to discuss on liquidpoker...but baseball is my life and i have done nothing to help myself move on to the next level. I feel like i've let down all my coaches i've ever had, the team i'm playing for right now, and most importantly, the person who should care the most, i've let down myself.

So you win some, you lose some, life goes on. It's time i start winning more personal battles.

And no, the booze last night didn't make all this come about, i've been thinking about this since monday...

***EDIT***
oh yeah forgot to tell yall something...
last night after i posted my drunk rage i went and did two things...
#1 i started my ethics paper... this is how far i got.
"Clay Thomas
Professor Morgan
9-19-08
Ethics
Meta-Ethics

Meta-Ethics is one of the something that we deal with every day of our lives. Many of our decisions are based on a subliminal knowledge of meta-ethics. There are many different groups of meta-ethics including ethical subjectivism, cultural relativism, ethical absolutism, ethical egoism, utilitarianism, the ethics of duty, virtue ethics, existentialist ethics, ethics of care and intuitionalism. The one I will be focusing on today is Utilitarianism.
Utilitarianism"

I remember using spell checker....

#2 i went and i ran the saltiest mile i've ever ran in my life.
Seriously, i ran it in about 6 minutes which is FUCKING FAST for me. I'm 5'9" and 235 lbs...thats fucking booking it.
I then had to run back to my apartment so at 4 in the morning, drunk off my ass, i ran 2 miles, one of them the fastest mile i've ever ran...

September Results by PanoRaMa, October 01

http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a162/sirasoni/septfinal.png
200nl

This post will probably be lost admist the sea of other September Results blog entries, so this is mainly for logging purposes.

After rakeback, promotions, bonus, whatever, i'm up like +5500 on the month, which is pretty crucial considering how shitty I was running in August and the start of September. Finally running goot though! Thanks FTP :D

This month I'm in a small prop bet for me to just hit at least 40k hands, which to some is nothing but to me is quite a bit. I also made a micro stakes group coaching thing for a few friends which I think should go really well. GL october.

Whats for MMA? by SfydjkLm, October 01

The future starts off with Exite XC on CBS- a national network, a show which quiet possibly will set yet another record for most watched MMA event ever- in just 3 days.

And this time around, it is good.

The opener is Alexander Shlemenko(21-3) against Robert McDaniel(11-4). Both fighters are relatively unknown, but with a nice record and a Russian nationality stamp in passport, i will bet my house that Alex is an exciting fighter. McDaniel too, has some legitimacy to his name- as such he has a victory against Kala Hose, who if you remember has beat down Phil Baroni not too long ago. MMA math of sorts. This is probably not something newcomers to MMA will enjoy, but for us ol' folks sure a good fight to scout out new talent.

First of the two catfights is the next exciting match- its Yoko Takahashi(13-9) against Christiane Cyborg(5-1). Im not sure if Yoko Takahashi is the same Yoko that recorded tracks for Neo Genesis Evangelion, but dont let her record fool you. She is legit. She has fought were the competition is the toughest in women MMA- Japan of course. Cyborg on the other hand is quiet possibly the best female(?) MMA fighter on the planet.

Christiane Highlight

Up next- Murilo Ninja Rua. Oh man, whenever anybody says "Hua" i just lose it! There was a thread on Teamliquid about who would you go gay for. And it my case its probably the Rua brothers. Guys just dont know how a fight can possibly be boring. Put them against Arlovski circa Tim Sylvia matches, they would still be able to make it exciting. His opponent - Benji Radach(18-4).

Ninja Highlight

Gina Carano(6-0) starts off the main portion of the card against Kelly Kobald(16-2-1). Finally theyre throwing the moneymaking pretty face of Carano into the lions den. However i expect the greatest fight to be fought on Friday, when Carano will have to face off with the scales.
Man is she hot for a chick who cant cut to 140! Mhmm!

http://www.411mania.com/siteimages/ginareddress_239.jpg
http://cdn.cagepotato.com/www/wp-cont.../2008/05/gina_carano-mma-elite-xc.jpg

Guess its the breasts that add the weight!
Kelly Kobold:
Cute:

Nice guns, lady
http://bp2.blogger.com/_2-7AdSkZA7I/R...400/Kelly+Kobold-Gavin+muay+thai+.jpg

Whats that? Whats that? Oh its the fight of the day! Its Andrei Arlovski(13-5-0) taking on Roy Nelson(13-2). Andrei is looking to solidify his image as exciting fighter, after dropping his boring counterpunching style. Besides rumor has it the winner of this match gets one of the Emelianenko bros on the next Affliction card(Alex-Andrei and Fedor-Josh would make most sense). Roy Nelson is a legit HW no doubt, but he already dropped a fight to Ben Rothwell who the Pitbull demolished in his last match in Wanderlei Silvaesque style.

Now Arlovski is apparently on a lend from Affliction, which has just signed a contract with GoldenBoy promotions. Quiet frankly, UFC are already in the dust. An CBS-EXC-Affliction-GoldenBoy collaboration? They would be more powerful then UFC even if they didnt have any fighters. Thats my opinion of course, and i will catch up on the rumors when ill write about the upcoming Affliction card, if i ever get to it.

Jake Shields vs Paul Daley(17-6-2). Jake Shield is awesome. Paul is not bad i guess. But give us fucking Fikkett, how long can we wait!

The main event will put a smile on anybodys face- its Kimbo Slice Ferguson against Ken Shamrock. Many MMA fans criticize this match and involvement of both this men in the sport, but i like it and i like the match up. I dont care about Kimbos ethics- he is a nice dude, very nice considering his upbringing, and the match up of internets most famous figher against Ken Shamrock with his greek-god physique and an ex-prowrestling background is bound to pull some fans.

http://www.ken-shamrock.com/images/ken-shamrock1.jpg

Roids ofc, but still!

UFC 89: October 18th

First interesting match is David Baron(16-2) vs Jim Miller(11-1). The former is a Pride and Shooto fighter who has a victory over Hayato Sakurai(!!!). The latter just has a nice record and a win over Bart Palaszewski, whos in my opinion a gatekeeper to gatekeeper to being a decent lightweight. Not THAT exciting, but any man that beats Sakurai deserves a looksee in my book.
David Baron vs Hayato Sakurai

The next notable match should excite all Pride fans- its Akihiro Gono(27-12-7), pure awesomeness impersonated. I have no idea whats wrong with UFC putting him on undercard, and i hope they will do anything and everything possible to allow him his trademark entrance. To the newcomers to MMA world- this man's record doesnt do him justice. He is definetely a force in the welterweight division. He has defeated Dream MW GP champion Gegard Mousasi and has went to 9 minute mark against Shogun before being soccer kicked to death. His opponent is Dan Hardy, completely unremarkable fighter.

Gono vs Mousasi

Main card starts off with a couple of matches that fail to catch my interest but shifts into gear soon enough. Sokoudjou gets another rebound match before being thrown to the wolfs again- against Luis Cane(8-1-1, only loss by DQ). This match means a lot to both fighters, Cane is yet to prove that he's legit, and Sokoudjou absolutely has to win to prove that he is indeed not a fluke but a force to reckon with.

Jardine vs Brandon Vera is next on the list and its another match were a lot is at stake for both fighters. Jardine's latest performances have been a mess, a mix of wins and losses against top opponents, and there is no doubt he wants to find his place in the division. For Vera this is his second fight at LHW, and it will break him or establish him as a legit LHW contender. Vera unfortunately, much like Jardine, never found his position in the fight world. But this time it isnt his fault, UFC 1-fight-a-year policy just never gave him the chance.

The main even is rather lackluster- its Michael Bisping vs Chris Leben. Michael is in my opinion a quality fighter, in a weak division with a tiny-slim bottleneck in Anderson Silva. Leben on the other hand is a crappy fighter capable of providing an exciting brawl. Will be exciting match if Leben can defend, but Bisping will easily take it which i hope sets him up with a match against Henderson.

September + October goals by d.Apollo, October 01

Well... I have already blogged most of september in my previous post so I am just going to update you with things since then!!! For the last few weeks I have been running horrible... really bad, but thats poker and I am not going to dedicate an entire blog post moaning about variance because that sucks, if you could check out my hands possibly and if you see any leaks/situations I could avoid, then please let me know on the hands

http://www.liquidpoker.net/hand/id/1/user/43575

Back to teh blog.

Unfortunately, ive been playing on my desktop so I can't update via graphs/stats but I can via TEXT!!!!!!!! I shall have my laptop back today so in my next blog you will defs have updated graphs/stats!
I have been back and forth from 10nl 5nl 10nl 5nl 10nl, because of running bad... I have a tight bankroll management so moving down doens't bother me too much since I am here to learn at these stakes. I had a phase where I was multitabling between 6-12tables at 5nl and even in 10nl, very robotic, very BAD imo.

I am currently sitting on $220, so still rolled for 10nl and will continue through October playing these limits until I get to $500. I am starting to question my poker skills... its been 6weeks since I deposisted money to start to play poker seriously, and I am still in 10nl... how long on average does it take until a player moves out of 2/5/10nl ? Though I am not willing to give up if I am below the average player

My October Poker Goals:

1. Main one obvioulsy is push for $500, which would mean gaining 28buyins over 31days which should be possible!!!
2. I am concentrating on 4tabling 10nl, really getting a feel for players/table (I don't have or use ingame stats) I want to improve my game, not robot it out, quality not quantity!!!
3. Post more in the forums, I feel this will express my opinion instead of keeping thoughts to myself, and then hopefully be corrected when out of line in thoughts.
4. Really concentrate of identifying LEAKS... I already know of a few and already started the plumbing work!!!

I should be meeting up again with ToTMidian again sometime this month which will be interesting, always lots of poker/beer played/drank when we hang out!! Hopefully be looking to get PT3/HDM before the end of the month also..

I think thats it really... can't think of too much else to write apart from, if anybody wants to chat/talk poker whatever lol, feel free to add me on MSN!!!

apollooo@hotmail.co.uk

Thanks for reading, see you next time!!

throwing my life away by eightfourO, October 01

i can't help but fucking think that i've been throwing my fucking life away. i'm so fucking pissed off right now it's not even funny. i'm 20 years old and my life has basically amounted to nothing. i was giving such high standards as a kid when i was in school and look at where i am at, nothing. I have 2 jobs, very little friends, i go to school, i get no respect, and i lose in everything i do. I've been given the opprotunity to be somebody, but i am a fat fucking nothing. I can throw a baseball 89 miles an hour, and that is simply god given talent, if i worked i might be able to throw 95, but you know what? my laziness has amounted to fucking nothing. I am drunk which is the whole reason i am posting this bullshit but man i've realized that i am nothing. I've been given so much and just trashed it away. I've had the best weekend in a long long time, and it's much over due, but when i look back, i wish it never would have fucking happend because all i've realized is that life can be so great, and for the past 2 years mine has been absolute shit. This fucking pisses me off. I am extremely competitive and all i've done is lose. Not for any fucking longer. From now on i'm going to have a new fucking outlook. Fuck everything i've ever thought of doing. From now on i have one fucking goal and that is to make my life THE FUCKING SHIT. BECAUSE I AM THE ONE THAT CONTROLS MY LIFE AND ALL I'VE DONE IS FUCKING THROW IT AWAY.

Rant Against Religion by Svenman87, September 30

Random Rant at 1:40AM - Incomplete Thoughts - CHECK
- Incomplete Sentences - CHECK
- Work In The Morning - CHECK

+LETS DO THIS

I wonder if we'll see an atheist president in our lifetime? Or to be more specific, one that is outspoken and truthfully upholds the constitution.

Why are religious people so appalled and frightened by us? The burden of proof doesn't lie on the Atheists. That is the biggest piece of shit I've ever heard. It's comparable to having someone scientifically prove there is no Santa. HOW CAN WE PROVE SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T EXIST WHEN IT WAS MADE UP TO BEGIN WITH!? I really hope the hadron collider just rapes the fuck out of religion by showing us how the universe was created and maybe even showing us something I still think is extremely possible.

I think it's a possibility that we are part of something, that is part of something, that is part of something times infinity. Nothing has to be created, because it's infinite, do you really think a blood cell knows its a blood cell and knows what it's purpose is? No, and that's the beauty of this life we get. We don't know wtf we are doing here, but we're doing it.

How can we progress as a country when we still have the basic Christian marriage as a foundation in the United States? How can we progress when the world's religions continues to rape and embed fear and bigotry into the minds of innocent children? Are you religious people so ignorant to see if you were born in India your belief system would be totally different. Or if you were born in Ancient Greece or whatever time period you want to choose. EVERYTHING that you people have built up to have such high meaning, is meaningless and pathetic.

I understand why religion exists, it took me a while to accept my own mortality, and I'd love to party it up for infinity with everything I ever wanted because it's such a great place. When I really think of 'heaven' or an 'after-life' I cant stop thinking about how fairy talish this shit really is. REALLY... ETERNAL HAPPINESS OR ETERNAL DAMNATION? I'd take eternal damnation any day. I keep picturing an older clip from the Twilight Zone where this guy wakes up in a casino and he starts winning. But he never stops winning and everything he plays he wins. Doesn't that sound great! FOREVER! AND YOU'RE STUCK THERE! Fuck that :

We are playing crusades already and I don't think this will end anytime soon, considering religion has it's slithering hand in everything around us.

/end rant
I'm tired as fuck

PokerStars Tournament #110918117, Pot Limit Omaha
Buy-In: $20.00/$2.00
99 players
Total Prize Pool: $1980.00
Tournament started - 2008/09/30 - 18:15:00 (ET)

Dear Bejamin1,

You finished the tournament in 3rd place.
A $240.57 award has been credited to your Real Money account.

You earned 132.49 tournament leader points in this tournament.

Took so long and for so little money. The players on the FT were all terrible and basically limp-calling/hitting the deck in their face all night. The guy who busted me gave me back to back bad-beats but meh decent score I suppose.

GG Donkaments .

vegas bound....going for a road trip by Gsr_01_integ, September 30

Just cashed out some money to fly to Vegas. We are taking a plane from Pittsburgh to Vegas direct flight one way ticket. Getting the ticket on the 10th of November. We are staying a couple days in Vegas and driving back to pa. Are there any good stops anyone can suggest on the way back. I'm hopefully taking about 2k with me on my trip should be plenty enough to win at 1/2 in the casinos. Also anyone suggest any good places with a lot of fish sitting at the 1/2? I plan on playing 1/2 and if I'm running well that day also move up and play 2/5. Hope to also play at least a $100 bi tourney with a nice prize pool. After a couple days in Vegas start the trip back through all the states. This should be great since this is my first time in Vegas and also the first time traveling through all those states. Also I want to see some of the greatness of Vegas what can some of my fellow Lper help me out here what shows and clubs are the best to go have a good time at. All replies are greatly appreciated, I just want to go enjoy a couple days see some shows and enjoy some clubs and have a fun road trip back

Thanks,
B
