So my october so far has been my worst 5 days in poker ever! Soooooo I have decided to change shit up a bit. I've withdrawn 4.5k and left 1k in pokerstars for whatever. I plan to deposit on another site and whore a deposit bonus and some rakeback, im thinking Cake.
I cant even win Nl20 anymore
and i am basically semi broke ...
I dont know how it feels to win at poker anymore
I have some fading picture in my mind of having a 2,000$ profit month in August ....
I think few month ago there was a guy making 1,5K on Nl100HU in just 3 days crushing through villians
Sitting on a wealthy bankroll thinking about what things he can buy next ...
Now there is some semi depressed clueless 23 year old with 8 big losing sessions out of the last 9 sessions
ALl this sessions i lost between 3-10 buy ins .....
worst downswing in my 14 month poker carrer ...
The only significat difference i notice in my game compared to the old days when i was winnig is teh following.
I always start the session up like 1-2 buy ins now and end it down 3-10 buy ins
In the past i always startet session down 2-4 buy ins and ended winning 3-6 buy ins ...
I have the following few options now
1.) QUit poker
2.) get a stake
3.) cash in the tiny rest of my winnings from online poker back into my poker account
At the start of this month, I set myself a goal of hitting 28buyins in 10nl in one month... I did it in 6days, surpisingly!! I set myself a couple of goals; hit $500 this month, work out leaks and posting more around here. I have approached each one and I feel all are going really well!
All I have done in October so far is play poker, every day, all day. Obviously I have stuff to do on the weekends such as playing football, going out in the evening/nights. All my friends are either in school/college during the day, or working so therefore all I do is spam hands... Sad or cool? Anyway, here is this months graph so far. (told you I would get graphs for my next big blog:D)
I have been playing poker online since August the 22nd, its been 6 and a half weeks since I started, I completed 2nl,5nl and 10nl now. I have played A LOT of hands though.. and seen the rough sides of poker and its effect on life in general, some bits are great, some are not, but I do enjoy this.
I spent the weekend railing peachy in the EPT, was good to watch and I feel sick that he didn't win because everyone knows he was by far the best player there. Ul.
Just organzied that Midian is coming to stay at mine again this month, from the 13th-22nd I think, over my birthday which is the 14th, so lots of beer will be drunk and money spent :D Looking forward to that, didn't even realize it was coming my birthday until this morning hehe.
WCG is coming around the corner, I will be making the trip to Colonge, Germany with the rest of the UK team, sadly I won't be there to win anything since my heart is in poker. I will be there to play poker, play some games and drink some beers The event starts in early Novemeber!!! I am meant to be also doing some EA event in Trafalgar Square later on this month, haven't been filled in with details, but I think I am playing some American/Japanese players at EAs new game, Red Alert3.. Will blog these when it gets closer and I know whats happening!!
Don't think there is anything else to talk about... so ill love and leave you now, going to take a shot at 25nl, should be able to do well. Thanks for reading and from the support of the people I talk to on msn/forums You know who you are!
The laws of mathematics do not apply after midnight EST.
Yes, I'm on fucking lifetilt again. Go up 11Buyins before midnight, go down 14Buyins after midnight. Same solid play, TAG as usual, but apparently any two cards will dominate any holding of mine once it's past midnight.
If you know a way to lock software at certain hours, let me know. I'm dead serious. Everytime I run according to odds, I make profit around the evening and lose it all at night. So much for slowly grinding my BR up to move up the stakes.
Good session overall, though it is a bit of a beat that I could of left at the 12 hour mark with +$600 but instead sat for 10 more hours and left with +$525. I was going to leave around that time, but this lady who just likes to throw money around sat down around then. She was happy to admit she had no idea what she was doing, at all. I am honestly not even sure if she knew the hand hierachy. Regardless, I lost $500 to her overall, which she immediately distributed back to the table whence from I had originally taken it. This was a repeating process. I just didn't end up in enough hands with her for it to work out for me.
She stayed the whole time I was there but I couldn't continue anymore after the 20 or so hour mark. I noticed I couldn't develop a read to save my life etc lol, and I was trying not to fall asleep (I had already been awake for 24+ hours).
I am satisfied with it overall, as for that session I came home with a net gain of $450 once you take gas and jack 'n coke costs into account
I still have good number of things I can adjust to make these games more profitable, and a couple of places where it would behoove me to stop spew calling. There is some.. psychology to live poker that you don't have with online. I've taken advantage of this but I know there's more to learn.
Also I didn't pick up a single live tell lol. Maybe with time .
I'll definitely be back over there every weekend I can
SUNRISE, Fla. – The legend of Kimbo Slice was built by beating bums in boat yards and back alleys not far from here. It came crashing down Saturday courtesy of a quick punch from a pink-haired journeyman giving up two inches in height, four in reach and 30 pounds in muscle and might.
One simple shot sent Slice to the canvas and from there some guy named Seth Petruzelli needed just 12 punches and 14 seconds to put an end (we hope) to one of the great sporting charades of all time.
It was just a matter of time before Kimbo got exposed. He was little more than a character out of central casting, a bunch of addictive YouTube videos and a lot of insane hype by CBS, which made him a headliner before he made himself a fighter.
He was the Kimbo the Cash Machine, everyone lining up to exploit the lie that this was the baddest man on earth as long as he could walk through hand-picked tomato cans.
Only this time his match with 44-year-old Ken Shamrock, who hadn’t won a fight in over four years, fell apart when Shamrock cut his eye in a light training session Saturday and was deemed unfit to fight by state officials.
In the scramble to find a suitable replacement that Slice couldn’t possibly lose to, EliteXC considered Shamrock’s brother, Frank, who was there to be CBS’s color commentator, hadn’t fought lately due to a broken arm and would have given up around 45 pounds. Despite all this, Frank likely would have submitted Kimbo in the first round.
When that matchup couldn’t happen (EliteXC said state officials wouldn’t clear him, Frank said they did but CBS blocked it), EliteXC promoters turned to Petruzelli. The Fort Myers, Fla., native had been dumped by the big-league UFC, was just 2-2 since 2004, had recently taken a year off to start a business, weighed just 205 (to Kimbo’s 235) and was so lightly regarded he was competing in the non-televised undercard.

Despite the oft-repeated propaganda that Slice was a man of “courage” for taking a fight with this smaller guy who was likely to stand and trade punches anyway, EliteXC paid Kimbo a cash bonus just to get him to step into the cage.
“We made it up to him,” said Jeremy Lappen, EliteXC’s head of fight operations. He wouldn’t disclose the amount.
For the myth of Slice, the matchup may not be a 44-year-old on a losing streak or someone from the broadcast booth, but really, what was the worst thing that could happen?
“It didn’t feel too flush,” Petruzelli said of the first punch that apparently didn’t even need to land squarely to fell Kimbo.
Make no mistake – or listen to the EliteXC spin – this was a disaster for Slice and the company. “This is MMA, all the best have lost,” said Lappen. True, but Kimbo wasn’t defeated by a crafty Brazilian jiu-jitsu master. He wasn’t caught in a submission by an experienced wrestler. He didn’t lose a decision after a three-round brawl.
Those would be understandable considering his novice status.
Kimbo was KTFO by a guy he absolutely towered over yet was willing to bang with him anyway. Not that Kimbo did any banging. Slice charged him (“He was like a truck,” Petruzelli said) but he never actually landed a punch.
In the end, Kimbo’s hand speed, defense and chin proved incapable against even an average mixed martial artist. Which was pretty much what every hardcore fan had predicted.
Not that CBS didn’t keep up with the Slice willing to fight, “anyone, anywhere, at anytime.” This was a 100 percent true statement if “anyone, anywhere, at anytime” means “no one any good, anywhere, ever.”
Slice seemed stunned and a bit saddened at the turn of events. After it was over, he initially began wrestling the referee. Whether that was a protest for the decision or because he was dazed isn’t certain. Then he walked around the cage complaining to fans about the stoppage.
Later he walked out on his CBS interview (“Kimbo?” asked a stunned Gus Johnson), although not before inviting America to an after party at a local nightclub. Then he showed up 45 minutes late for the main press conference, where he gave a quick statement and bailed.
“I got my first black eye,” he laughed. He later turned to Petruzelli and joked, “You knocked me out in front of my family; that’s (expletive) up.”
Through it all Slice remained the only likable character of this foolish farce. He wasn’t the one claiming he was the best in the world. He was just a working-class dude who figured out how to beat the system and cash in on his 15 minutes of fleeting fame.
He’s got kids to feed and bills to pay and right to the end, he was milking bonuses out of the promotion, a one-time homeless man holding the Tiffany Network’s prime-time programming hostage. Only in America.
He was the grand actor in the middle of a three-ring circus, a tall tale that would eventually come tumbling down under the bright glare of reality.
Where Slice goes from here is anyone’s guess. He can’t rebuild his reputation without stepping up in competition from the guy who just beat him in seconds. He can’t headline a card and have anyone believe he’s legit. He can’t claim he, “just got caught” when it wasn’t some wild, roundhouse right or sneaky arm-bar that did him in.
The truth was always coming for Kimbo. Saturday it arrived sooner rather than later, the money train grinding to a halt courtesy of a smaller, less heralded fighter that no one can claim is some elite champion.
No, this was it. It’ll never be the same, not for the fighter and not, perhaps, for his entire promotion that just lost its signature star on top of the $58 million it’s burned the past two years.
Afterward, EliteXC execs tried to paint a bright future but admitted they needed a drink. Lower-level employees used gallows humor about finding new jobs.
Kimbo just said he was going home to see his kids.

In other news, I went to the 'ole Winstar World Casino which i found out is home to the 2nd biggest poker room in the united states, next to some casino in California. I played the 200nl game, where i bought in and was playing smart, playing right, playing great, and ran into bad luck. Everytime i put someone on a hand, they had what i said they had. The guy to my left was raising about 40% of every hand, and was atleast trying to see a flop probably about 65%. And everytime it was on my big bling he would raise. Every fucking time. He did it once and i folded and it got called down to the riv and he showed 23o which he raised pf UTG on my freaking blind. So i keep this in the memory bank and about 3 orbits later i get QQ on the BB. He raises to 10, i raise to 30, he reraises to 100, i go wtf...think about folding, and then think about how he raised w/ 23o earlier, so i shove for another 46 more, and he shows up with AA. No help, i lose, and since this is a vacation and the closest casino is 80 miles away, i obv don't have any of that "bank roll management" crap b/c it's not needed, i might to 3-4 times a year. So i cruise around the casino, try some penny slots w/ all the $1 bills i have, lose 9 there but i'm just wasting time bc the guy i went with is still playing. So we've been there for 4 hours, i went busto in 1 1/2 hours, he went busto after 4 hours, and it's about 11:45pm saturday night. I'm ready to go, the other guy who was watching was ready to go, but my friend still wants to play... we're like "dude we're ready if you are" hes like "i want my 400 back...so what if i stake u..." This intriges me. He's bound and determined to fucking play at this point, i don't really want to walk around in 2nd hand smoke watching old people plugged into the slots lose money, but he only offers to stake me at $140 and i don't want to short myself...i end up doing it anyway, obv, and i played, did really well got up to $342, just $8 away from breaking even, but since i'm a greedy tard, (and because he was still playing) i kept playing...ended up playing for like another 5 hours, until 7am. At that point, i wasn't getting cards, when i got good cards (AK AQ, no pocket pair higher than 7) they were UTG, and when i got a decent hand on the button it was KQ and it didn't hit. This ultimately lead to me being blinded down to $270, where i cashed out. So -$80 but not a big deal when you consider i had a read but bad luck, and i bought in with $150 and made a profit of 200 at one point. Then i knew i was mentally fatigued and knew when to leave.
All in all, not a winner, but not a bad trip. Lots of positives.

i gave my bff the password to my account cuz he was bored at the library the other day. would've transferred but i've been transferring to him small sums of money so often for the past few months that pokerstars decided to freeze our accounts. he called me today and said he lost everything in the account (~$500). shipship?
i laughed it off, obviously. my lack of discipline/lazyness/nonchalance has reached the point of zen-like numbness to every stimuli both external and internal. it's ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY divine.
i will say this, though:
the only thing that tilts me is the fact that he still won't acknowledge the fact that he's the worst poker player alive. he refuses to HU =/
small life update: i'm taking the CFA Exam LVL 1 in June since i no longer have online poker to fall back on (even though i never did, but that's besides the point).
...i'll probably pick up online poker again when this cancer of a friend is removed from my life lolol
Finally had a 10+ buyin session. Sadly that just basiclyy put me back to where I was before I'd started losing consistently, lolz.
HEM still isn't working so I don't have graphs or exact amounts or anything. Gotta go try and fix that now.
Punched the wall while angry last night and hurt my hand - hard to type and use the mouse T_T. So stupid. Never doing that again (or at least looking for a softer wall rite? heh jk).
I'm completely obsessed with the polls on the election lately and check em like 20 times a day to see if there's anything new. Also trying to do more volunteering to knock on doors. Since Colorado is a battleground state I really feel like I gotta do as much as I can. I'd feel like shit if Obama lost here. The 3 days before election day I plan to take off from work and spend 24/7 volunteering. And on election day I'm gonna help get people to the polls. Man, I can't wait for this to be over, hehe.
Anyway, finally a non political blog. Finally 10 buyin session. Finally played and didn't run like complete ass. Finally!
So i guess strato is right, im making too much fuss to get the bloody +50$ on PS, so i will move my money to ps now. i have 51$ on FTP and 40$ on Titanpoker. Im wondering if anyone here has an acct on titanpoker so i can transfer the money to you and then you'll give it back on PS.
The FTP money i'll probably handle it with strato but i dont know if anyone here has titanpoker. Any person interested post here!
NL 50, stop hating me pleaseby killThemDonks, October 05
NL 50 has been crushing me for the last few days. Started the 4th of october spewing quite a bit which I definitely regret now because of the downswing. what do u do for spew/tilt control?
Tons of leaks in my game I suppose. I don't feel like moving down to 100NL since I'm over rolled. I get my money in pretty bad in blind vs blind or btn vs blind late position stuff against regs, and there are times where even donks valuetown me with flatted AA or something, or I know they have flopped trips and I stack off my overpair anyway. Biggest downswing I've had so far.
This might be old news to alot of you guys but w/e, I so rarely come across a new album that just completely blows my mind so I figured id share it with you guys.
For those who has no idea what I am talking about: glasvegas is a scottish band that recently released their debut album and I am just completely in love. Its just beyond sick, its sooo good and it gets better everytime I listen through it. Check it out, best song atm:
Download or buy the album, you will enjoy it, if you dont you fail at life. Peace out
pretty disappointing with that big drop towards the end.
think i made around $750 in tourny winnings so not a bad month by any means.
anyway i promised i wouldn't let poker distract me from my work now that i'm back in university, and to help stick to that, i've withdrawn all but $50 of my bankroll!!
if i play now, it'll be very simple nl2 multitabling that requires minimum effort and more just for relaxation when i have spare time.
i plan to get back into it at xmas but until then, GL everyone
This is a funny video I found. You've probably all seen this video or something like it before. I don't really know how long the Obama roll has been around.
Meh, been running like crap again so I am back here to whine about it like usual. So after my last bad streak I bought HEM so I could prove I was running like shit and it did exactly that so I guess that's good... I am running almost 90$ behind equity on all-ins in 3k hands and I had only 1 session where I ran above equity and it was only 1 buy-in, there rest was all below equity.
I'd post screenies of my graph and the numbers but I don't know how to cap them and turn them into a file I can post here so you'd have to take my word on it if you are even reading this (which you shouldn't because it's some butchy whine blog).
Well, I guess I'm going to feel miserable for the rest of the night after a session I dropped 3 buy-ins within 30 minutes and might regrab myself and start grinding again tomorrow or the day after... Although I'm quite sure that God or any other higher power out there hate my guts and wants me to fail so probably an inevitable road down to bustoville...
Today i will have my first day of poker after 10 days break being in Dublin.
I will start at Nl20 Ipoker since i will be very very strict about BR management from now on.
This will be a good test to my discipline.
I guess it will feel strange after having played up to Nl200 last month.
