i sharted!!! by Daut, November 30

I didnt want to put this in blogs because it disappears after 5 entries get put up but i guess ill just move it to general after it disappears. the title of the entry explains a lot.

so its my moms birthday and my dad, my mom and i went to a thai restaurant about 30 minutes away. the food was pretty good, we had some good soups, appetizers and my drunken noodles main was tasty.

anyway we're wrapping the meal up and i feel some gas coming along. anyone who knows me pretty well knows just how much i love to fart. GOD I LOVE FARTING. theres just nothing better. so i rip one or two and they leave a delicious aroma around our table. i think my parents smell it but they havent made any comments yet. so i go to let another one out but its more than just air.

i felt the liquid poop hit my boxers and my eyes hit the back of my head, i gulped really hard and excused myself to the bathroom. as i was waddling towards the mens room all i could think about was not getting any buttsauce on my $90 lucky jeans.

i get in there and theres a tiny little mess on my favorite pair of boxers. i remove my shoes, then my jeans and underwear and drop them in the trash. it was one of those single toilet mens rooms where you have the whole bathroom to yourself so i was ok to walk around stark naked from the waist down and not get any stares from neighboring bathroom attendees. i finished the poop, cleaned up and walked out of there with a new airy breeze reaching my privates.

this was only the second time ive ever sharted. the first was about 9 years ago, i was 15 and playing starcraft and back then all i lost was a ladder game. this shitting experience was a lot like playing starcraft. basically i was protoss, my poop was zerg, i early expo'ed, the waste 9 pool+fast speed upg for lings and ran his lings by my photons. this is the last mother fucking time ill ever let those goddamn lings past my choke/anus.

im sad to part with my favorite boxers, but i guess they are a small price to pay for the enjoyment of the poo. its also sad that from now on i will fear farting without the aftermath of a volcanic eruption in my pants.

I Ran Badt by k2o4, November 30

I ran so bad @ NL200 yesterday and dropped back to NL100 to rebuild. Went for a hardcore power session thinking "Saturday night, 15 tables, I can rebuild so quick!" and I was right - until I started getting coolered left and right at the end of the session.

http://premium1.uploadit.org/IAElitesquad//Graph-11-29-08-NL100-1day.jpg

So tilting. I ran horribly vs some cayaman guy who started playing back at me, so we were getting it in pretty light and he was calling my 3bets really light, but he would always hit his fucking hand! I got it in good vs him nearly every time but he was on god mode so it didn't matter. Shit like this:

Great Weekend by TheView, November 30

I havn't played poker since Friday morning, but I plan on playing a few hours today. Saturday, however, was a great day. I was at the Iron Bowl (Alabama vs Auburn game), and Alabama FINALLY beat Auburn after 6 LOOOONNNNGGGG years. The atmosphere at the game was amazing. Mist enveloped the stadium and mythodically rolled over the field for the entire game. There was a light drizzle for most of the game, which was fine because it was a muggy day and the cold rain actually felt kind of good. The 36-0 win felt good, too, obviously.

Saturday night was awesome. I went to a few parties with friends and my girlfriend. Everyone was stoked about the 'bama win so there seemed to be alot fewer people getting into petty fights (like drunk people tend to do at parties). To be honest, I dont really remember what I actually did after midway through the night. I took ~10 shots or so of Skyy before I went out and then drank the hell out of some jager. And I'm pretty sure my night ended after going to Taco Bell. Is it just me or Taco Bell fucking delicious, especially when you're drunk.

Now on to poker. I made a deposit of $500 dollars last week on Tuesday(?). My roll is sitting at $1004.xx right now.

Goals for December:

[ ]Learn to post images correctly (I'm dumb, obv). (big thanks to K2o4 and SpeedyJack for telling me how)
[ ]Get a nice roll for NL100 (I'm hoping I can have around 4k in my BR by the end of the month)
[ ]Fix as many leaks as I can on my postflop play (get my redline into the positive or atleast at 0)
[ ]Play an average of 5-6 hours per day atleast 5 days a week (except possibly the few days around Christmas)
I want to try to get in atleast 60k hands, but to be honest, I would prefer 75k+.

Thanks for reading. Good luck to everyone in life and poker.

lots of records by remember87, November 30

This month has been very odd in many ways and I have broken a few records:

* Least hands played in a month when I had the time to play: under 15k
* Best winning month ever: with RB and liveplay it´s almost exactly $7k
* Played my biggest pot so far, around 1500$
* Played above NL200 and felt comfortable (except NL400 I also played 150 hands at HUNL600, NL600 and NL1000 with a 1300$ profit)

So a good month lies behind me even though I havnt played much at all. I am happy over the result but not about my play. I give away a lot of money on the flop and I feel my big leek is there right now. I will try and improve that a lot when I pick up poker again.
One thing I am fairly pleased with is that I played about a 20/16/3 game this month, a nice step forward. Since the games are so aggressive in NL400+ I guess that is ok. Just a bit looser and more aggressive and I am happy!

Right now I am taking a small pokerbreak, my first in a winning streak. The next 2 weeks I am too busy to play and I dont want/cant have that destraction right now. I have a big exame the 16th and I have to study a lot to make a good result there. I am also having a big Christmas-concert next sunday so the orchestra, the choir etc will have to practice some to make it work. So there will be little time to play poker...

Finally the monthly graph:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/9bda068b7367933b4c7bda2732c114df.jpg

Goals for december:
* Find some time to play poker. As it seems now I wont be able to play many days at all..
* Win the few times I manage to play. This month I won almost 7BB/100, thats a very high number but if I can get 3 I am happy..

GL everyone in December!

Bah by DustySwedeDude, November 30

So I don't wanna look at PT cause it's not good for my happiness EV but this month I'm down like 4k€ after rakeback. Not that much, and since I haven't played more then a couple of hundred hands the last week and not many the week before that it's only over 25k hands. Hardly noticeable in the long run but together with a cash out I've got less then 100 bi for 2/4€ online. That's not really fun, so I guess I'll wait for my rakeback and play 1/2 until I get back there. It should be just over 20bi so it's not that much. Might move back again early if I catch a break and start running better again. Dunno, won't play that much in the first half of December anyway due to a big as exam the 16th.

Fun incident of the weekend: During a meeting before a big presentation me and two girls will have on a stock market introduction assignment one of the girls, who comes from the south of Sweden "Skåne" (like Chris), felt a bit annoyed about something and started talking really slow and sarcastic. She sounded 100% like Durrrr. For a second there the lagtard in me felt sexually aroused, but then she started talking like normal people from Skåne again and my soul died a little. People from Skåne are generally really nice people with a really cool attitude to most things, but God damn it they can't get away from sounding like retards to save their lives!

Besides poker this month has been really good. I've started eating a lot better, I'm working out a lot, I've meet some new people who seems nice and I get along good with pretty much everyone. The only thing I'm slightly annoyed with is that I got absolutely soul crushed in a Trivial Pursuitish game about geography yesterday. My flat mate's boyfriend is just too darn good at that kind of games.

Just to ad to the poker player stereotype I might start training brazilian ju-jutzu this spring. It's so cold outside that I don't feel like dragging my ass halfway across town to get to the location right now, but apparently it's ok to start whenever so I'll try it out in like February I guess.

Anyway, gratefullness list:

1. Christmas - Even though I don't really care for baby Jesus or his philosophies it's a pretty nice holiday.

2. My friend R - who called and wanted to hang out yesterday despite me having lived in a gym and not really talked to people in a month.

3. My grandmother - who calls and asks me how I am once a month or so. She really cares about the family and has done a lot of work for us during the years.

December goal by Night2o1, November 30

Well, the end of oct/beginning days of november were reallllly horrible. I pretty much dug a ditch I couldn't get out of in one month of nl25. So, since I'll never do that again, I figure I will start my monthly tally from when I moved to nl10 and began grinding back up.

I definitely feel comfortable at nl25. Finally. So that's cool. I've eaten some HUDGE beats which have caused me to break even during the 10k hands of nl25 I've played at FTP so far.. but that's alright.

This month at stars, NL25 started at ~30k or smth. Check out the little heater I had at the end:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/b23023d52deea2d703ab481c6eff50bd.jpg

FTP, all NL25: (FTP is rigged)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/c318d012975924e412c804bc054d7d76.jpg

and a bit over $150 in rakeback.

Its time to set my goals for December.. I am done with this semester on the tenth. I really want to play a crapton of hands this coming month..

I averaged 581 hands/hour at FTP this month. I am going to be busy with finals/final paper until the 10th. So twenty(leaving out x-mas), 8 hour days is 93k hands...

Therefore my goal for dec. is 100k+ hands. I hope to surpass this but 100k hands and winnings + rakeback = $1k+.. Would make me happy/not make me feel like a failure. (except for how being such a marginal winner would be embarrassing as hell)

If I am successful and on the way my roll hits $1250 I doubt I'd have the discipline/enough reason to not take a shot at nl50, though. Maybe I'll mix in tables.

Wish my baddy self luck d00dz!

NL5 blog #4 - Day 3 by Uptown, November 29

Trials, Tribulations, Retardation and Light at the End of the Tunnel

2800 hands or so.
4-5 tabling

Day3 saw some changes to the way I was playing. Still as nitty as ever, but concentrating a ton on making prudent plays postflop. I'm happy to much AK/AQ when the flop misses and the guy leads into me. I'm happy to much QQ if the turn/river smells real dangerous. I'm trying to be less attached to my hands, fold quickly if I don't have the goods, and also finding out a little more about how the NL5 regs act in general.

For instance, it seems like smaller cbets work just as well on these guys as a relatively larger one. If they were going to fold, they're going to fold anyways, etc. Esp with my uber uber nit stats, even a 1/2 pot cbet looks damn well like a vbet.

The day started off with more of the same as Day 1 and 2 - super swingy, huge do or die pots, semi-retarded shoves and calls that made for an ugly PT graph. By the end of session 2 of the day, I was down about $5 for the day over ~1400 hands. But when I checked my cashier, it said I was right at the point where I started NL5 at. I was pretty happy to be honest, considering how much I had lost the day before I was still plus minus zero. I saw it as an opportunity to get a good fresh start.

I really came to the realization that while I was playing tight preflop, I was NOWHERE close to tight postflop. I mentioned this before, but I had an AF of over 7!! I was cbetting far too much when there was no way they were going to fold, I was double barreling far too often, and I was building pots on marginal/retarded drawing hands. I had to learn to manipulate the pot given each of my situations: do i have TP? Overpair? Draws? Good, strong draws? Monsters? Do my monsters lose to other possible monsters? The key was hedging the risks and getting an approriate risk/investment/return factor for all situations.

B/c I tend to play well beyond midnight I can't seem to filter graphs properly on PT3 (or is there a way to say "just give me the last 3k hands"?) So i'll just post the 3rd session of the day. The first two sessions were just swingly messes anyways, where it really demonstrates my retardation. I freaking lose a 2bi all'in with what turned out to be a marginal hand ffs. (I think it was like QQ calling a shove on the river when the river was a K or something, and the guy had K4o or something)

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/f6fe92d8590ea3f4058884ccb37b0874.jpg

Overall : +3.5bi for the day

Won't be able to play much today because of paperwork I have to get done, plus I'm going out to dinner for my best friend's birthday. I won't be drinking b/c I'm carpooling with him and I'm the DD, but it'll take a good number of hours. Hopefully I can get about 1.5K hands in when I get back around 11pm or something.

-----------------

Ridiculous instance of the day
I have AK, flop comes 3Kx of hearts, then 8, then K, I'm valuebetting each street, then encounter a river shove, I don't see the boat I have and I fold and lose a 2/3bi pot. Chances are he had Kxo but it's just free money I gave up and I seriously felt depressed. What saved my psyche though was that the very next hand on a different table, someone 3 bet donked into me when I had AApf and he had TTpf, and I won a 1.5bi pot. If not for the mental save of this donk I probably wouldn't have been able to keep my cool for the next few hours, slowly building my way up with good plays.

I really do want to play today to solidify what I was learning yesterday, because I feel like if I don't keep playing then I'll lose the good habits I was picking up. Kind of like my golf game to be honest. In my "prime" playing days I still needed to practice at least once every 3 days or my game would go to shit and would take weeks to get back. (although my skill is a far cry from what it used to be now, haha)

:( bad november end by PplusAD, November 29

played a NL50 HU session in teh evening

-210

look at hands i posted and u will see ...
nothing too dramatic but makes November prettyy much a fail.

started with 200 at NL10
was with 791$ making NL50 shot today
now 583 $ back to Nl25 grind

383$ profits ...

but i wont play tomorrow since i have some university stuff to do.

I think maybe its a good idea to ban myself from HU play

How different are they? by EXCELED, November 29

http://www.liquidpoker.net/userpoll/draw.php?poll_id=728
Poll: PT or HEM?
(Vote): Poker Tracker
(Vote): Holdem Manager

The dying old question I need to have answered. My poker tracker trial is going to run out in 10 days and Im thinking of buying it. My friend however insists that Holdem Manager is x10 better. I wasnt able to use the free trial on HEM because I stopped plaing for a bit and the trial ran out on me.

If anyone could list a few differences between the two for me and why they prefer one over the other I would really appreciate it.

Day 1 Review by dejokah, November 29

Had a bad NL2 session yesterday -3BI over 1.5k hands, started playing somewhat loose and very aggressive, double and sometimes triple barreling proved to be serious spewage after awhile i tightned up and managed to keep even for most of the time then hit a few coolers and stopped playing.

A few hands:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/578528

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/578529

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/578530
(this guy really confused me, overbets flop with FD i felt like a confused bitch)

I know first hand is a cooler what about the others ?

Also had a lot of Aces dealt but half of them got cracked, played them agressive but still ended up breaking even, this sux monkeyballs.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/578141

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/578142

My AK/AQ/AJ postflop was horrible, i think it has something to do with the fact that I'm trying to CBET everytime, will try to choose better spots from now on.

Will be starting session 2 in a few minutes, may the force be with me.
