every time i play live poker i ask myself why i bother playing live poker. i've never been bombarded by more idiocy/scumbaggery in my life. honestly, not allowing the scum to congregate in public should be the #1 reason for legalizing online poker, keep them at home.

today's highlight of ridiculousness came in a small pot. 5/10 game. one guy limps and it comes to me on the button with QTo. I make it 40. Doofus who is wearing a backwards visor and talking/acting like he's a foxwoods 5/10 regular makes the limp/call.

Flop comes Qc 5d 2d. He checks, I bet $40 and he calls.

Turn 9c. He checks, and I decide to check it behind cause I think he's pretty weak and I'll be more likely to get value on the river.

River comes 2s. He checks again, and I figure I'm right and he has A high or 66-TT maybe. I bet $100.

He proceeds to count out his stack, stare me down, recount out his stack, count out $100, stare me down, then finally calls. I flip over QTo. He stares at it and the board for like 10 seconds, then slams down QJdd and goes YEAH!!!!!!! BOOOOOO YEAH!! YES!! I JUST LOVE WINNING THE CLOSE ONES. YES! Then after he calms down from acting like he won the superbowl in a $300 pot at a 5/10 game, he starts saying to himself "I shoulda pushed it, I knew it! I shoulda pushed it!" as if I were somehow going to bet/call a $2000 overbet raise on the river with QTo.

I wanted to slap the dog shit out of that idiot.


I hate live poker.

Hello everyone.

I joined the site at the behest of d.Apollo: http://www.liquidpoker.net/blog/viewblog.php?id=623839, whom I'd known from CnC3. I played CnC3 somewhat competetively, also played SC and WC3 a lot, though not at a very competetive level. I still follow the scene somewhat.

I started playing poker almost a year ago, but only started playing online seriously for a few months to half a year, depending on what you consider "serious". I didn't go on some mad rush from the start and shoot from 2NL to 25NL within a week or anything. In fact it was rather slow, and I'd started with SnGs, which in hindsight didn't really help my growth very much. What it did do is make me more resilient to downswings and by the time I started playing cash games I'd accumulated a decent bankroll from the 50 dollars a friend had lent me.

I play 25NL 6Max mostly, and aim to move to 100NL early next year while getting Supernova status on stars. I'm rolled for 100NL right now, but I'm a bankroll nit, or something. You see, I've taken shots at 50NL twice, both of which ended in faliures, one significantly worse than the other. Significantly worse as in 18 buyin downswing as opposed to 3.

The last months I've been having some crazy swings. Ran at 12ptbb/100 for around 8-10k hands, then lost several buyins within a thousand or two. I was originally planning to move to NL50, but in light of these swings, I've decided to get a slightly bigger sample size in first and plug my leaks before taking shots again; hopefully within a week.

I also play some Stud8, LHE, and HU on the side, as well as some FR50.

I'm also on the 2+2 forums by the same name.

No sick graphs or pictures to show sadly--maybe next time.

I don't know anyone here, but if anyone's interested in discussing poker or doing some sweat sessions, give me a pm/email/whatever. Better yet if you live near Macau, we can go there and own up some live donks...!

Its about 4am right now and I cant sleep. I woke up with a huge thirst going on so I grabbed a drink and opened up FTP to see whats going on. This is what I see.

First of all I just wanted to say that Durrrr is a beast. It makes me sick to think that he has all this money from a card game and hes the same age as me! That is another ridiculous stack again. Apparently just the other night he won 1mill playing these stakes online. SHIP IT!

Im the kinda guy that if I made it up too like 3/6 5/10 I could grind it forever because I would be happy with beating those stakes. I dont need to play the highest possible. I just want to be able to make a solid income all the time!

Watching this game has seriously inspired me and Im setting a goal for myself. By the time my next birthday comes around (June 13) I want to be rolled for the 2/4 - 5/10 LHE 6 Max games. Its going to be a serious grind but I am going to be putting in some serious dedication to reach this goal.

This was on eof the best nights I've had in a long time.

My friend and I get back from walmart around 10:30. We get back to his place and his roommate who also happens to be a friend of mine is in the living with with his girl who he's on the rocks with (weird story). so we barge in all, "What now fucker, we got Christmas shit". His roommate stops dead in the middle of the conversation and just stares at us with this glint in his eyes. He has something planned and it is going to be amazing. Quick backstory on him; about three weeks ago we rushed a frat around here that is famous for being douches because we got wasted one night and felt like ninja-ing something. Anyway, he's just standing there, staring at us for a good minute; no one has said a word. He looks my friend dead in the eye and says, "We're getting a tree. Tonight." We all look at him like... dude... its 10:30 at night, in Maine. Where the fuck are we going to get a tree. He just keep staring at us like, wtf are you guys waiting for, lets go. That's when we get it. He wants to get cut down a tree, right now.

Fast forward 30 minutes. We're in my jeep, which is a peice of shit, with a 16" bowie, a saws-all with a half dead battery, a flashlight and 3 pairs of work gloves. The only problem is where are we going to find a tree? It's Maine so there are too many options. Eventually we head down a dirt road I used to take to work. Along the way we immediately start finding candidates in the lawns on the side of the road. Eventually it turns to dirt and we're surround by woods. My friends roommate hops out and on top for lookout while I'm coasting down the road. We stop many a time to check out the prospects, but none pass, they're either too small or too sparse. After around the 15th stop the roommates girl yells for us to stop. She's found it. We all look at her like wtf are you looking at? about 30 feet into the woods we see it. This beauty of a tree. A 6 foot white pine. Nicely filled in. A beauty of a tree.

"Grab that fucking saws-all, we're doing it." The three of us hop out, tell the woman to get in the drivers seat and we bolt off into the woods. I have my bowie, my buddy has the light and his roommate has the saws-all. We get up to it and is even better up close. The perfect Maine pine. We clear the dead carasses of what I can only assume were maples and cast the 15' javellines aside and get to work. I hold the light while my friend holds the tree. There is only one problem... the saws-all is not half dead, its fully dead. So we say fuck it and spend about two minutes using the serated side of the bowie to saw it. That's going less than swimmingly. That's when we get an idea. A saws-all is called a saws all for a reason. It's a fucking saw. Who cares if the battery is dead, it runs on elbow grease too. So about 20 seconds later we're sprinting back to the jeep with the pearl of the woods in hand. It's only about 20 years old and light as a feather. so my friends hold it in one hand above his head. We open the trunk and through it in back. In haste we snap off the extra foot from the top to make sure it fits and off we go.

About 200 feet down the road my engine temp is red lining. We hop out and the engine is steaming. It's midnight and around 15 degrees. My engine is smoking. This is not good. Luckily, I had picked up some antifreeze about a week ago and my friend is handy with cars. So we pop the hood and fill the resivoir and the line and pray. Luckily it did the trick and we're off to the homestead.

My friends place has a simple layout, its a duplex and he's on the right side. The entryway is a hallway with the stairs as well. Dead ahead is the kitchen and the living room is on the right. In the back right coner is a small room with nothing in it. Normally its the beer pong (baerue?) room or work room. Now it is the official Christmas room. The tree is dead center and we have the lights. One major problem arises however: we have nothing to decorate it with other than lights, and not tree is complete with just lights. During the manly standing of the tree, the woman has been in the roommates room for quite a while. I'm just starting to download the soundtrack to the amazing Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964 edition feat. Burl Ives), and she storms down the stairs demanding we close our eyes and appreciate her hard work. We oblige and moments later we are staring the beginning of a beautiful tree.

Well I made it... 21 years without dying. well technically I have 1 hour 10 minutes left, but I'm not sure if I'll be sober enough to make this blog.

My knee is going to be just fine which is good news. I ran today just to see how it would feel and I didn't have any weakness or sharp pain. It's still a little sore, but I should be back to normal sometime soon. I'm also thinking of doing some volunteer work, but I'm not sure what or where yet. I was thinking big brothers big sisters. Does anyone have any experience with that or other groups that they found was a good use of their time?

i was registerin for classes today and pretty much all the classes suck and so do all the professors suck. i am accounting major and somehow all the accounting classes has been filled or have weird schedules or shitty teachers, mostly all full. not to mention next semester there's not even that much courses compared to few semesters ago. that sealed the fate for my school career in the intermidiate term.

i dont know whats happening. seems like less professors are teaching next semester or something. and people might be switchin from biz major to accountin because courses usually dont fill this fast for advanced level courses. (shitty economic condition and future for biz majors)

i'm pretty hooked into the stock market now so i guess i'll have plenty of time to focus on that now. and not to mention a ton of pokerrrrrrrrrr.

so far im really excited on the free time i will be getting.

im only 20 y/o, im planning to accumulate more $ before moving out. so far im really happy now. convinced my parents that school sucks and i either take many semesters off or i dropping out.

brag: on track for a 200k$ year and i barely even spend much at all. but im prepared to pay my taxes
brag#2: 3.6 gpa
beat: played over 900k+ hand this year, prolly will get it up to 1 mil hands after i finish finals, but Joeingram1 made it look like nothing.

So I'm at school eating lunch and I hear this huuuge crack in the sky, like thunder.
I turn my head and i see a big piece of black shit falling out of the sky.
A second later i saw a rainbow colored parachute coming down at a scary speed.
So the plane crashes a block away from my high school and it's burning like crazy.

A residential house got hit by the plane, 1 block away from a close friend of mine, and I'm sure many many others. 3 people were in that house.

It was crazy, watching it fall and erupt into a cloud.

I tilted pretty bad last session and managed to loose all the BIs i made on my first session and a few more, I'm still rolled for NL10 but I feel very frustrated.

I also fucked up my PT DB by going allin on 4 tables at the same time and closing Pokerstars Lobby. (twice in the same day)
I never thought i could be that stupid, sure I could ask for stars for my hand history and import manually in PT but i decided to do something else, start a new DB.

I'm going to employ a safer style from now on to work on my discipline and also start using PT HUD in order to prepare myself for higher stakes, I'm sure this safer style may hurt my current ptBB rate but I also think that doing this now will save me more time later, the reason for that is that I played a very aggressive style and would try to stack people often with hands like 2p, OESFD, nut flush draw with 2 high cards, TPTK and it all worked out fine, but playing safe may be a better option to avoid mad tilt again.
