More bragging, it's needed by Twisted, January 04

Same Shit Different Day

I finally had an epic tilt and played outside of my BR, as you guys saw on my Xmas eve blog. That was the first time I ever did that. Definitely will be the last. Luckily I ran good during the idiotic move so I was able to recover a nights worth of loses. Since then I've been grinding very carefully and with a lot of discipline. I recovered from all of the holiday pain and got back to 4k last night. Today I did a quick NL200 shot during a sweat session with my coach and we ran like shit. Managed to salvage it into a 1 buyin loss. Oh well.

The plan going forward is to work towards 6k. I'm going to play NL100 as my main limit till I hit 6k, but I will take NL200 shots along the way IF I have 4k in my BR AND the tables are really soft and I feel confident, OR I'm doing a sweat session with my coach. Otherwise I'll keep doing NL100 till 6k. Once I hit 6k I am gonna do a 10 BI shot @ NL200 and play there till I drop to 4k or I tilt. If I start tilting I'll jump back to NL100.

Lots of if's and other conditions on all of that eh? But I like it. It's a plan that has developed through lots of experience and I think it fits me just right. The good thing is that I'm not scared of NL200. I've played a decent # of hands there and whenever I've run at least even I've won money. Sadly I've been running like shit whenever I try to play it so that sucks. But as long as I keep regrinding and dropping down at the right times I will eventually get into NL200 and stay there. I'm positive about that. Just a matter of time.

Anyway, December looked like it was going to be amazing but ended up sucking balls cause I got pwn'd by a downswing at the end.

Oh well, let's hope that January is a heater month. January is when I had my insane 50 BI heater last year, so maybe I will repeat ^^

Happy new year everybody!

Long Awaited Update by ipwndonks, January 04

I got sidetracked since my last blog. I have far surpassed 1k and am sitting at 8k as a freshman at the University of Washington. I am currently in dorms and wish to move into an apartment next year with my poker winnings. The next step for me is to hit 10k. I am 12 tabling 100NL currently with a 6.5 bb/100 not including rakeback. I have a poker coach and hope to move to 200NL in the very near future. Starting tomorrow I'll update each blog daily if I play with stats and the goods. For the month I'm up about $700 already after having a 4k month in November and a meak $800 in December. Here we go again!

Weekend Wrap-up! by Rocks2BeGood, January 04

Hey guys,

So as i stated in my last update, i wanted to get a decent amount of hands in this weekend and i did. It offcourse could have been more but i also need time to spend on my girlfriend so from saturday night untill now i have not been playing any hands.

I think i played ok this weekend, things could have gone better but also a lot worse for sure. I made plays of which i am sure i need to improve but i am allready feeling a lot more comfortable at 6 max. I will be staying on this limit for 30k hands at least so im on track. Below some interesting hands and offcourse stats from the weekend!!

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/1c57f0bb6bdcf0d2319a878578d1b421.jpg

Offcourse feel free to comment on every hand, also if i made it standard or suckout!

http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=600412 - Suckout
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=600411 - Flush got there
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=600335 - Suckout

http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=600350

Anyone who also bets the turn there? i had no stats and was not really sure about him, i thought i extract more value this way because i checked turn and then i get value from my river bet more easily

http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=600346

I need to pay attention to my 3 bet size in this hand, however the 10-7 made me lol

http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=600344 - Played ok?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=600338

Not really happy about this one, do i need to slow down on the turn?

http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=600274

Easy shove or not?

http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=599974

It looked like a easy shove to me, any comments?

http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=599791

A friend of mine states i should not fall in love with AK too much, however without stats, do i slow down? Or do i get it in because i also get value from weaker hands.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=600322 - Standard
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=600284 - Standard
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=600401 - Standard
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=600077 - I like it
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=600075 - Standard
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=599984 - Standard
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=599891 - LOL!

Total stats so far for the month:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/aa5e1bc93c649cc334f783d53893a59e.jpg

I am really glad i made this blog, it keeps my motivation high and it feels good to talk about the hands. In the future when i think the hands are standard i will not post them so much, just want to find out if this is really standard or do i have wrong intentions.

Thanks for reading and see you soon.

Kind regards,

Ron van den Enden

Please help me... by Kilay, January 04

So, enjoying my first session of the year with the idea of a new start in my head. Completely de-tilted from my late downswing, or at least, so I hoped but the ass-rape just continues and I hereby call a favor upon human kindness (lol, if there is any available in this world) and hope somebody can point out my leaks and at least enlighten me if this is all bad play or mostly variance or whatever because I hereby have 0 amount of confidence left in myself as a poker player.

My 25NL winrate (LOL, winrate...) has been cut in half in 3k hands and ever since I dropped down to 10NL with a 775 roll I am still enjoying the ass-rape being down another 10 buy-ins there and still counting. I totally transformed into a weak/tight nit and am completely scared of ever taking a hand to showdown if it isn't the complete nuts because I expect to get ass-raped since that's what been happening the last 7k hands or whatever. Oooh, I'll add my graph for the pure lulz factor of it.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/220d7dfbd21616d4a188724e0ef99162.jpg

The best thing of this graph is, that it contains half my former bankroll...

Hand 0: Around 1.1k
Current: 660$ LOLLERSKATES

Ok, well, I hope I will get somebody to help me out here. So far I set aside all my pride by asking for help here and I hope somebody will respond and shit, not really expecting anything though... If nobody will react and/or help me, I guess I'll pray that I will run like Jesus before I go busto like this...

Later, Kilay

Late December report by vegable, January 04

Starting Dec 01, 2008 I moved back to pstars and was greeted very nicely as usual. It was a pretty sick first 10k hands as I tried to get used to the games again. Put in 25k hands 6tabling throughout the month. I'm also gonna include my January days in the graph

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/65778666fedfda1af27bcb1329adb921.jpg

I feel that pokerwise, I'm not as disciplined as I'd like to be. The work is getting put in, and with just a LITTLE more tilt control I know my winrate could be much much better.

Goals for January: Get rolled and grind 10k hands at 100NL. Bye

A new year by qu4nTum-fLuX, January 04

New years resolution for poker:

Start playing online again and limit my cashouts to no more than 20% of my winnings. (ie. if I win $1000 in two weeks, I'll only cash out $200 of it)

I feel cashing out for drinking binges has been my biggest hurdle in moving up stakes since I started playing. I just came off a month long binge of drinking every night and almost broke except for my 1K online roll.

Started again on new years day and am ape-smashing $25 NL so far:

Road To Recovery by MayZerG, January 04

Fuck you weekend donkeys, goddamnit, why is it so hard to win on weekends? Is it just me that experiences this? I mean its amazing how many hands i lose when im 90% favourite.

But you are not going to take me down January, knock me down and i will bounce back as fast as possible.

Break for a few hours then have another small session.

GL at the tables everyone.

thoughts on shot at nl50 by vlseph, January 04

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v468/vickter/nl50shot.jpg

made the switch back to 6 max, full ring is too robotic for my tastes and I have to share the fish with even more nits.
break even shot over 1k hands. been 4 tabling it.
today had a lot of fish on my table with good position but was pretty card dead.
the humongous jump in EV and my winnings were from this hand:
+ Show Spoiler +

hmm some thoughts on NL50:
-running not very well second session leading to a little tilt and some bad play, resulting in the break even run
-squeezing too much from watching better people do it. I won't get rid of it altogether, I think I was just too obsessed with doing it jumping up from NL25 but I will just pick better spots and not do it too often
-overall I feel very comfortable at NL50 and it seems like I see even more fish at these levels, so that's a very good thing.

also missed my first available Silver Star 100 FPP $20k earlier today cause I forgot about it.
I think I woke up 2 hours after it began but I'll try and play them from this next Saturday and on.

I have only 2204 VPPs needed until I clear my $150 bonus, so looking forward to that. Shouldn't take too long now that I am playing NL50. I think I calculated it to be around 9000 more hands so easily doable.

I also cashed out my Cake roll earlier today since my rakeback got posted for a good total of $2288 and spare change. I'm looking to keep all that money for personal expenses since my bank account has like a measly $100 to it. Haven't received the money as the cash out is still processing, but I'm really looking forward to it.

Pt3 saved layouts? by kantoiki, January 03

Hi just wondering if its possible to save layouts and share them with people in PT3?

And if so is anyone willing to share theirs with me? I'm fiddling around with the layout and so far it looks okayish~ but it doesn't change colours based on the stats like acehud used to....

So far so good by DustySwedeDude, January 03

Up 8.5k€ in hold'em (running good), probably like 3-5k or something in omaha (running like god, some dude accused me of cheating after I sucked out vs him 2 times :D). Playing decent, but not great. I make a lot of mistakes but I think I've identified a few leaks I'll try to remove.

Want some comments on this hand. The donkbettor seems somewhat competent and Laggy, some kind of HS-reg on prima. The dude who bets river is a trappy nit whom I've never caught bluffing in a small pot that I can remember. I've looked him up with decent TP's and stuff a couple of times the last weeks or so and he's had me all or almost of times. I have no reason to believe that he can valuebet thin.

1. What hands do you call flop with.
2. What is the worst you'll call river with (or, frequencies for calls with bluffcatchers)
3. Is any hand from 2. not a bet on this turn?

+ Show Spoiler +

Also, for my viewer's pleasure. This was probably the first time in a long as time I've actually laughed out loud (my sister can back me up on this this):

shovebot fun by vegable, January 03

So I was sitting down for a 6tabling sesssion which had been going EXCEPTIONALLY bad, people were hitting and I was a little distracted by the badness, when on one of my tables this dude by the name of "Paulus_rus" starts open shoving every single hand for about 100 hands or so. The guy claimed to have 80k and just gambled for fun. At first I was like

OK GAMBOOOOOLZ!! and called off with A9o, KQs, etc. Since I run bad at all my other tables why should this be any different? Here are some memorable hands:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/600604
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/600605
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/600606
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/600607
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/600608

I also lost a 200bb pot vs him but can't find it in this ancient piece of crap

The aftermath of our table. Everyone had cleared out immediately after he left because it was so emotionally draining In the end I ended up losing vs him because of rake.

-125bb for the session. sick life
