Cake-->FTP/stars by JoeDeertay, March 10

I've got about 530ish on PlayersOnly (which is on the Cake network, just a different skin) and I want to move it to FTP or stars via transfer instead of waiting 5-6 weeks for a check to actually get here. If anyone is interested then please PM me. Thanks LP!
-Joe

edit: I'll even take UB if someone wants to do that.

Frustrating session. by vasoline73, March 09

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/650270

Man today was kinda frustrating. Played about 600 hands and this one hand killed everything. Did I play it ok? I went from a 15 dollar profit session to -3... even though I ended 2 dollars up, it's still gay. lol. Poker

I'll post more stat pics and stuff, but I tightened up and played 11/8.5 today... so yeah. Trying to be less of a station, even if it makes me a nit.

Thanks for any advice guys

More HU! by thundza, March 09

Been a long time since I posted. Unfortunately, last break I fucked up HU and lost a good amount. Now I'm back at it, and crushing. It seems that whenever I start playing HU after being gone for a while, I crush.

Had some good sessions this last week. I like to pick on people that have 200BB+ stacks on regular tables. It's fun taking all of their moniez :D.

Will be going to Vegas for spring break next week. I'll meet up w/ myth and frinkx for some fun times. will probably play some nitring at the wynn... although I probably suck balls at it after exclusively playing HU. we'll see.

some interesting hands from this last session:

ez ship flush: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/649995
perfectly played, fml: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/650059
bluffed: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/650064
min loss w/ AA: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/650121
ship turn (lol A4): http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/650126

anybody know if there are HU live tables? maybe electronic?

Nice long session by Pallywhacker, March 09

Well I didn't take yesterday off entirely, watched a few vids and went over my hands. Overall it was just a bad run of variance with a couple buyins of spew mixed in. Logged about 500 hands and won a buyin back which was nice. Today continued with the plan for the most part, outside of 1 pot I'm really happy with how I played. Continuing to run under expected but I'm running better then I was and I'm logging winning days and my heads in a good place so all and all life is good. Back to the grind tomorrow.

NL100 by NeillyJQ, March 09

After my recent cash out, I had a nice winning day today and now have a nice roll for nl100 again. (Under the $5k starting mark but over what I would go down to Nl50 at, and I'm very confident I will win at NL100 6max, and want to put more hands in there before I go to Las Vegas)

I'm leaving for Las Vegas on March 17-March 20, not sure the exact date yet

I'm going to drive, in hopes that I don't have to come back, but if I do, then no worries.

An LP'er named Quocy04 offered to put me up for lessons, he's also a poker dealer, he said hes a winning player that has some tilt issues, so I should be able to straighten him out. I told him in return, I'll stay 2 weeks, if I want to stay in Vegas then I'll get my own place (if im up more than 1k I'll prob stay tbh, I need a good nightlife and live pokerz *online poker makes my eyes burn, forcing me to play smaller sessions now, or struggle to finish long sessions (sometimes mtt days)

So you'll be seeing me on the LP til around the 18th, then I'm driving across the states from Pennsylvania to Las Vegas, planning to stop at almost every casino on the way (as long as its around 5pm - 12am)

I'll be llowing myself to play poker with 10% of my live roll any night.

I'll have between $4400-$5500 when I leave the door for vegas.

Very excited about this, awesome that Quocy is putting me up, especially because hes a dealer and hes been in vegas over a year (he sleeps in the livingroom *i do this like 5/7 days of the week myself as well here lol*, so I get the bedroom

I'll bring my laptop, continue grinding at some hotels (hopefully, I don't have wireless so I think that I won't be able to grind online for the whole trip) and when I get setup in vegas I'll prob grind online tue wed thu and play live fri - mon with random days off when they're needed

CrownRoyal, stop bringing so much negativity to everything.
Play your game, do your best, I wish you luck.

Ok, just felt like blogging

GL LP,
Ryan

Finaaaalllly. by Ftrunkz, March 09

Finally got the net at my apartment, my god, funny how much life sucks with no internet and no foxtel(cable tv here in aus). I got so bored its unbelievable, moving from the home town I've lived in for 19 years away from my best friends and GF to an apartment in a big city i know all of 2 people with nothing to entertain me sure can lead to some lonely depressing nights =.

Started my course at melb uni, seems pretty cruisy atm, although I'm sure the workload will skyrocket over the coming weeks, =[.

Withdrew $600 from my roll for uni money until i get a job up here, leaving me with $200... which i then donked off being a drunk idiot the night before i moved away... playing drunk, despite being fun at times, is something i wish to never repeat again.

So right now poker is kind of at a stand still for me... I might be able to get one of my friends to lend me a 2hundo or something to build a roll from NL10 with, if not I'll have to wait until i get a job somewhere down the track... Or if someone wants to keen up and give me a decent staking deal on here for NL10 or NL25 that'd be mad . Although I'm not very well known so i don't see that being a likely option to rest my hopes upon =(.

Pretty boring post i know, but oh well. I'm bored and uni doesn't start for another 3 hours today. ;P

Live Tournament Poker Again by Chewits, March 09

Once again, decided to hit the live tourney. Same format as before.

I have to say I was pretty happy with my play, and I made the right moves. Little disappointed I did not make the money, but I did go out with grace.

So heres the round up. There was 49 players this week. Start stack 4k, 2 rebuys (6k, then 8k you have to have less than 4k to rebuy. and after break, can addon for 8k each) So starts off with hardly any players arrived, and just was 3 players at my table for first couple hands. Not much happen, see a flop or 2, make a cbet, but catch nothing. Then the table fills up, and i sit back and see how it goes. So this week, my table was the complete opposite as last week (last week there was 5-7way pots..). Much tighter here, with rarely anyone getting a free flop. SOmeone was always raising, and most ppl folding, and 2-4 way flops.

I pick up trash all first hour and a half. Utter trash. I think i saw like 2 flops. I stole some blinds once, and won a flop with pair of Qs. All pretty small pots. Then I am sitting in BB, with 58o, 1 guy calls, and SB completes, and i check. Flop comes 5s Qd 8d. SB checks, and I bet potsize. Player 3 calls, and SB folds. River brings a Jc. So I am thinking hes calling with a medium Q, maybe QT, Q9. I bet 75% pot size. He calls after some thought. So I am thinking, he thinks im on a flush draw or air, and I am thinking he still has a Q, and doubt he has the flush draw. River comes Jd. And I am thinking, balls, gayness, fml. I check, and he thinks about it, then checks. Sure enough he shows Qs 7s, and he takes pot. I show my 2 pair that I was representing, and I loose bit of chips. River killer, but not much I can do there.

So that put me back to just over 4k, with the break coming up shortly. I couldnt rebuy as I was still above 4k. I make it to the break with 3.6k and use the 2 addons. After the break, sadly not much changes, and my run of trash cards continue. Pick up Jacks, and bet 6xBB UTG - everyone folds. Steal some more blinds with 77, and again with JJ few hands later (no one wants to play, as I really had been playing tight, not because I wanted too, but my hands were so bad, I couldnt even loosen up!)

Then the sickest hand of the night happens, which I am not in sadly. But holy shit, it was so sick. Very similar to a hand I went out with in a MTT online quite recently. It went 4 way to the flop, with no raising pre flop. Flop comes Ks Qh Th. SB checks, BB checks, player 3 moves all in, who was pretty short (Around 10-12bb), player 4 then announces all in, everyone out of the hand is thinking, wow sick.. then the SB then shoves all in, and we are all going WOW, sick, and THEEEEN, the BB shoves all in, and the table erupts, and everyone from the other tables come over. Just holy fuck 4 players all in on the flop. Pure sickness!

Players show the hands;

Player 3 - Jh 8h - Str8 flush draw
Player 4 - Ah 9h - Flush draw, but now the str8 flush is dead for player 3
SB - K Q no hearts - 2 pair
BB - A J no hearts - flopped the straight

The guy on BB, is shittin bricks, because he knows hes ahead, but there is SO many outs that kill him. both turn and river are blank for all players, and 2 players are busted, and one guy seriously crippled, with one guy winning a huuge pot. Sick shit!

I make it to the second break with average chip count. By now alot of players have busted out. The blinds are getting real steep now, and I dont really pick up any big hands, but manage to win the blinds each round, and hover around average chip count.

Now the blinds are 2000/4000. I am sitting in the SB, with around 35,000. it folds to the button who limp calls. To my left is the BB who only has 12k left. I have JQhearts. I know if I call, he will surely shove, and, then the button could come over top (who has about 55k). I think for a moment, and announce all in. BB calls, and the button folds. BB shows pocket Ts, and I just have overs. So was this a bad move here? Should I have just folded and got out of the way, or was my shove a correct play? I dont hit anything on the board, and this knocks me down to about 23k.

Next hand I get AJo on the button, and it is folded round to me, and I move all in. Blinds fold and i show that I have a hand. Then the next hand i have AKo. Once again its folded round to me, and i move all in again. This time the button calls (who just won nice amount of chips of me couple hands ago), and the blinds fold. So I am thinking, hes prob PP, and its a race. I ask, "pocket pair yea?", and he nodds with a smile. I say "so its a race", and he looks at me and says , "im afraid its no race", and slowly shows me AA. oh fuck, sick hand lol. Little bit cocky to slow roll me the show, but he had a hand. board is dry and im knocked out in 14th place.

So alot happens in the last few hands, how do you feel I played them here? I feel i made the right moves here, with these hands, considering how steep the blinds were and my stack size. With the bubble approaching soon, I felt I had to go for it. AK in that situation is insta shove right?

Anyway, was a good night, and I will be back for more...

AllSnap by Sicks Macks, March 09

AllSnap has made my life a million times easier. I love this program. I can now 12 table 6 max easily, where I could only 8 table before, and it makes having a laptop a million times better. For those who don't know, it's a simple program that runs in the background of windows and makes your windows snap into easy tiles and overlap patterns. It's the shit.

Cannot Grind by k2o4, March 09

Strange how it's so much easier to grind a shit load of hands while breaking even or losing than when winning.

I've played like 6k hands this month. That's horrible. Last month I'd played like 20k hands at this point. I'm fighting 3 things that are keeping me from achieving mass grinding:

1) Winning - I'm consistently winning and winning quick. Like I sit down and in the first 100-200 hands I'm up 2 buyins. I stay a bit longer and hit the 300-400 hand mark and am at about the same place in terms of session winnings so I quit before I get apathetic or lethargic or greedy or pretty much anything that might get me into a bad mental state. And because I keep winning and it's a higher limit so 2 buyins feels like a huge score, I have much less motivation to grind it out.

2) Higher limit and less tables - Last month I did a lot of 12-16 tabling of NL100 cause I had a huge BR for it and about 250k hands of experience, so I felt very confident and was fine with mass grinding. This month I try really hard to stick to 6 tables because I really do play my best game when I have 6 tables or less and time to think about everything. Being up at a higher limit where I don't have hands on everybody or long term reads to use, I really need to pay more attention. I don't have the 100k hands winning here to get myself confident in playing a lot of tables. Plus I'm trying to learn as much as possible - I don't want to just grind it out and do what I already know.

3) Mental fatigue - I'm not watching TV while I play anymore and am thinking very deeply about all hands/situations, and that's much more taxing on the brain than 16 tabling NL100 while watching a movie and just robot pokering. 500 hand sessions are hard to get myself to do cause I have trouble maintaining a peak mental state for that long. And when I take a break I never want to go right back to grinding because of reason #1. I guess there's also the mental fear of a downswing or losing session. I still haven't gotten used to the bigger loses and wins per session of NL200 compared to NL100. So I have a mental battle to deal with there. I think when I hit a 10k BR I'll feel a lot better and not so scared of a losing session.

So I just gotta keep grinding it out, hit that higher BR, and eventually my comfort with NL200 will be complete and I'll be able to put in longer and longer sessions. I'm already feeling better but I can feel a huge gap between how I was with NL100 and how I am now with NL200. Luckily all these things have basically only held me back from playing mass hands... sux for the FPP but is great otherwise cause I am nearly always playing in a great mental state and playing my best poker. I'm not playing with scared money and the second I feel myself protecting a win I quit. So overall my volume has decreased but that's not bad considering that everything else is going great. I feel like over the last 30 days I've played the best poker of my life. It's been really great.

Anyway here's March so far:

http://premium1.uploadit.org/IAElitesquad//Graph-3-9-09-All-Dollars-March.jpg

BR @ 9k. It's down despite winning because I made a payment to my awesome coach, cause without him I'd still be stuck on NL50/NL100 =)

Oh and one last piece of good news is that I'm finally a lifetime winner on NL200! I was down like 3k in failed NL200 shots or something like that but the last 30 days I've recovered and am in the green! WooT

fixing the leaks by Zalfor, March 09

so i realized that my red line was the thing that was killing me. using the poker theory that i know (none basically) i tightened up and really learned how to play in position and out of position. the result was really good for me as i've been running well in the last few hands, but also i really feel like i understand the game better. or at least positionally. Hopefully this trend can keep going, and here is a few graphs to visualize the change. notice the red line!

Won Wynn Classic $1500 event by thewh00sel, March 09

So I played the wynn classic event that Cosmo won last year and I guess I kept it in the LP.net family [=

It was a really good tournament and the final table went fairly smoothly until 4 handed when Evan (FrinkX) showed up for a few minutes to rail a little bit. I ended up getting it all in with AA vs QQ for an 800k pot with 1.8mill chips in play and he spiked a Q on the river. Would've been all over after that, instead it lasted another 3 or 4 hours. I had to grind back up and eventually i took out the 3rd place guy with KK vs his AJ all in pre to get heads up.

The heads up battle lasted for over 2 hours. The guy was a sick nit and I folded more top pairs heads up than I care to think about. Seriously the guy raised like no hands preflop so i was like flatting AQs in the big blind bc he would ALWAYS have a hand pre if he raised. Anyways my strategy was working out great, saw a ton of flops and grinded him down from even stacks to like 400k then he limp/called all in with KJs vs my A9o and he hit a flush. Then i grinded him down again and managed to get most of the money in with my J7 vs his J5 on a J3TJ board and a 5 binked on the river to double him again. After that we hovered for a little while and I eventually doubled with AT on AA5 flop to his A9 and after that it didn't last too long. He shipped JJ for like 200k and i called with 77 and hit a 7. About time if you ask me [=

Here are the pics!

So far in march i am doing awesome. I'm up 700 total cause im down 400 in mtts (I HAVE GOT TO QUIT PLAYING TOURNAMENTS FUCK)I really want to play 60k hands this month and i'm behind pace but i'm gonna make sure i catch back up to pace.

I have a really comfy br now for nl100 and nl200 isn't too far away at all! I've gotta get my fcking money off of cake asaply and I'm gonna have to cash out $500 to cover some bills which is gonna suck.

UB has a really sweet deposit bonus so i'm gonna be playing there next.

Here are my results, i swing so hard.
