First of all I'd like to state that I'm actually probably down a K or two for the month, putting me pretty close to break even for the year. Might actually move down and win another 10k at 2/4 again just to get some stress free money and be able to spend more energy on school and fun stuff as there are a lot of cool stuff comming up the next month for me.
Anyway, yesterday was probably the best day I've had in a long, long time. I woke up after very few hours of sleep due to pokering all night, and pretty soon got on my bike to visit my extremly good friend P and meet some girl he's been seeing for a while. She was really cool and I'm super happy for them both. I'd be really hard pressed before I could think of anyone who are a better person then P to hang out with so it's awesome.
We joined up with my other friend R and went to the "Bandy" final between Västerås SK (Who fucked SAIK, my team, over in the semi's) and Edsbyn (some village up north who've won 5 years straight despite a population of like 10k people, of which like half travels to Uppsala to see the final each year). Remmember87 and MasterofLaw (new LP dude, works for a big ass law firm now) joined up with us at the game, obviously we cheered for VSK since both P and MoL comes from Västerås (except R87 who proved to be mentally retarded by cheering for Edsbyn even though we stood on the VSK-side among a considrable number of angry alchoholics from the working class).
Edsbyn quickly made 1-0, the middle age dude in front of me questioned the sexuell preferences of VSK's Goalie Körling (who played for my beloved SAIK before) but VSK soon got it evened out to 1-1. "Byn" got 2-1 but once again VSK managed to even it out and in half time the score was 2-2. We managed to move a bit during the break and we found a really fun spot right behind Edsbyn's goalkeeper so we had a really, really cool view when VSK was on the offence. I was sad to leave the two drunk gentlemen we had been standing besides (they were funny as hell) but you can't get it all. VSK kinda quickly got 3-2 and suddenly P got excited as hell. You could see that he was a real fan and I started to get into it a lot to. I started jumping up and down when something cool happened, screamed at the top of my lungs and tried to pick up the correct terms for stuff on the feild. He's a small dictionary;

Dommarjävel = The referee when he did something we didn't like or took a correct decision not involving giving a corner or something to VSK.
"Himmlen är GRÖÖÖÖNVIT!" ("the sky is Green-white") = We've got nothing to say really, but we like to make noise anyway.
Edsbyn managed to get 3-3 and somewhat took over the game. The crowd was noticibly scared and we felt that this might not go very well anyway. I can't even remmember what happened next, but somehow it became 4-3 to VSK and then 4-4 and it once again felt like Edsbyn was taking over, but this time the feeling was even stronger. With something like 20 minutes to go. Time went by far to fucking slow, but as the minutes dragged their asses along hope started to shine on the horrison. Maybe this would actually work? They put on a lot of fucking extra time but Edsbyn got stressed out and couldn't do shit the last 10 minutes and the second it was over P, with R following, ran down to the ice. I took of and tried to catch up. They ran like hell, P's girl tried to grab my shoulder to get along and I thought it was Remmember so I just ignored it and ran like a motherfucker. We got down on the ice, past the police, I got a picture of R, P and VSK's goalie Körling and everyone was happy as hell. P and his girl made out on the ice, looked just like in a damn romantic comedy ending or something and R felt gay so he started dancing with me by throwing himself at me.
Then we went home to P, grabbed a pizza and decided to go out and party. We called up our connection, made sure to get past lines and stuff, and then P and the girl threw us out so me and R went home to me and had a pre party togheter with some other people who was going to other locations. I grabbed a shower and some clothes and went biked away like half past eleven.
We danced through the night. I ran into a teacher (the one form an earlier blog post who looks a bit trashy and maybe 35ish, but really are highly educated with a Ph.D in Police Law and like 45ish?). I also ran into a blond chick my rommie used to fuck and overall I had a really good time. Got home at maybe 4ish, and one the way home I did something I havn't done since my first semester here. Cookie to anyone who can guess what (not on the blog though, might not be 100% legal, lol) and overall felt like I was 17 y/o again. The spring was in the air and all was good.
On monday I'll see Bob Dylan. A couple of days later I'll be hanging out with Pinball in Sthlm (PM if anyone wants to hang out).
Overall I'm really happy right now, and solid 7.8/10 or so.
This time I played for about 2hours, with a 5min break.
It started terrible with AA:s cracked once again, but as a change this time it was against QQ all in pf. Thereafter I lost a couple of coinflips and further this hand took place:

All in all I did still manage to turn the session into winning one, 80$. So now I've made my first 100 bucks in my new bankroll. Feel proud of not tilting as I would have done before when hands like them shown above occured. Instead I took it cool and felt that I pretty much crushed the tables and would win it back. Feels funny to be proud over 100bucks when I have played pots for over 500$ before, and been both losing and winning such pots. But this time around I'll be more patient and let the time get me back to those pots and the games of my liking.
About the game in general I don't feel that NL25 will get me into any sort of problem. I think I will pretty much crush this level eventhough I know it will take some time before I can climb up to the games of my liking, NL100 HU at least.

Now I've just finished my 2nd shortsession for the day. After I got AA cracked vs JJ all in pf for 1.5bi a loss of 1.5bi all in pf with KK vs AA I still managed to find a little win as result of the session. 20% of a bi was the result, lol, but any win how small it even may be is always better than a loss!
Having a cold so I cant't play for so long. Now I think i will go to mcdonals and get some dinner and after that there might be a new short session before I got to bed and pray to god I wake up without a huge cold tomorrow, got a lot to do at my work.

Finally I've decided to take my poker my seriously. A thing that's included into that decision is to sign up here and read a hell lot of more about poker. I'm not totally new to this place, been lurking around for a while but without making my presence noticed.
I've been playing poker for like 2.5 years or something. But I have always underestimated the aspects of BRM and variance. Eventhough I think I could beat 0.5/1-1/2 maybe i've never had a bankroll big enough for those games, especialy not since I mostly play HU. The results is often me depositing 100USD or something making my way up to 1-4k USD and then losing much of it.
This Friday something huge happende, I decided to take my poker more serious. The main topic for this will be BANKROLL MANAGEMENT, that's been my biggest leak so far in combination with the fact that i'm a natural born tilter. Can't recall how many times for the last 2yrs i've deposited a sum and built i up for a couple of weeks and sometimes months as I earlier stated. Then always this distrasous night or evening comes, sometimes for a reason but most often not, when I totally fuck my bankroll over, ending with no bankroll left at all or me withdrawing the remaining cash about 10-50% depending how fast I can get out of totally tiltmode and calm down to just tilting and hating poker and therefore witdraws. I think the most common way for me is when i'm being to fixed with numbers. Say i've deposited 100usd then I play to 1.500usd. Then I get a fix of that number so when i lose so i've got like 1330 left or something I move up in level to quickly get it back or passing 1500 instead of just call the day and quit or move down i levels.
This time this won't happen. I have been staked by LP's DustySwede and I'm not allowed to play any higher than NL25 for a great while. It pretty much sucks, mostly because it will take long time to win money and the fact that there's no NL25 hu tables, but I'll take it both as a challenge and a punishment for earlier behavior. The deal is that i will return him 150% of the stake after some months from now, and I'm also obliged to send over some of my hands for mainly two purposes, firstly so he can coach me further and secondly so he can see that I follow the rules. (Feels pretty strange to be his apprentice, back in law school I was the teacher. But i'm not that stupid and I realize that this is a different sport).
The purpose of this blog is mainly to show my progress and make my play more public. I think it will be harder for me to tilt all away. In the beginning I cant tilt away the roll because of my obligations to Dusty, but this blog will keep me not tilting away when I've slowly built a new roll of my own.

The challenge started 2days ago. Played a lot on the friday evening and night at Dustys place. Lost 1,5 bi all in all after som rigged hands ;-) and some spewwing i guess. Saturday I didnt play much at all. Today I've so far had a short session which started out totally bad with me getting AQ all in vs A7 when the board showed AA6. But I managed to climb back and at the moment my bankroll is 0,5bi at NL25. Now I'm heading for a new session! Whish me luck!
Maybe the 70k hands on nl 2 and 5 were too much, maybe the sloow pace is killing me, but I always start 16 tabling no brainer tight play, although I crush my the limit when I 4 table. I stop respecting other peoples raises. . I don't even have to tell you that I don't develop at all in this state.
I charged $50 of my own hard cash into pokerstars, and took a shot at NL10 with puny 23BI
And I must say the thrill is back! I once again pay attention to every single hand, I play accordingly to villain's bets (which I didn't respect at all before, one pair as the nuts), the blinds matter again and I ENJOY POKER.
My goal is not to lose money next 20K Hands, 4Table ONLY and to start working on my game once again.
Ok so basically this situation seems to crop up quite alot nowadays for me, both IP and OOP (although its more taxing when OOP for obvious reasons).
im grinding out some micro-stakes $0.02/0.04 6max. i will be dealt a hand like KQs and will raise PF OOP or ill raise IP to get rid of the idiots limping in with J7o. (These PF raises may be a leak in some peoples eyes, im unsure).
flop will come 25Q and ill bet pot with one caller. turn will be a blank (10 for arguments sake), ill bet pot villain calls again.
at this point i dont know what to do. IMO the river card is irrelevant as the villain has called twice so must already like his hand. im ruling out draws either because of a non drawy board or because of the 2 pot sized calls. my problem is that when i am IP and the villain checks to me for a 3rd time often i will check behind, scared of the fact that he has c/ced twice and called the raise PF. additionally a 3rd PSB at this point is basically an all in which makes me uncomfortable given i dont know where i am.
However the problem comes in that sometimes i am beaten by two pair or whatever, but equally as often they show up with some bullshitty hand like Q8 and i could have extracted the full value.
i guess my problem is that people are such idiots at microstakes that i cant figure out what theyre on as a call is a call to them, irrelevant of bet sizing, position etc etc. i would feel much more comfortable in this spot at a live game etc.
i know this is slightly whiney and theres no actual hand example (which is why its in Blogs, not Low Stakes) but could anyone offer some advice on this. would it be +EV to get that final value bet in?
By far the best game I've played in a while. I love the huge world and total freedom, but it's done as an FPS instead of an RPG. You can still upgrade in RPG-esque fashion though, and it's all about missions.
I had a shitty session and decided to try farcry2 out to untilt and suddenly it's 2am. Time for bed.
lol not really but beginning of my spring break my account read like $2.65 and now reads over $200...Visiting my best friend up at Boston College was really fun and happy i got to see him. First night we just went down to the plex they have there and played some pick up. I used to play in high school and wasn't bad, was actually a really good passer and this past thursday it was like i have been keeping up on my game. My friend would make a cut and i would just slip it passed a defender and he would score. We ended up winning out pickup game 16-14 then just went back to his dorm and drank there. Second night was pretty cool as we went to see the women's frozen four cause one of our friends plays for Wisco. The dominated minnesota duluth the whole game and we saw her for a little while after. Later that night went off campus to some party then went to a party on campus. Overall was a great time besides the traveling. A buddy and I took a greyhound up and numerous trains to get to BC then today we took the T back to the South Street Station and then a bus back to the port authority of new york. We then thought it would be best just to take a train back home so off to Penn Station we went. I was beat when i got home and just was dabbling around in a few tournies all night and then one of my last was a 6.5 double stack, turbo, knockout 90 man sng on full tilt. played very well and took it down for a score of 144. Very happy about this. Back to school tomorrow so also pumped about that. Gtg for now but gl everyone.
I'm currently overrolled for 10nl because i've taken various shots at 25nl and haven't been very successful.
A lot of it is due to bad luck, but I'd love for someone to ghost me and just give me some pointers and so that i can ask a few basic questions.
Of course I'm asking for a favor, i would be very appreciative if someone can help me out and ghost me for a short session.
I'd like to play 4 tables of 25nl 6max, and would prefer to have help from anyone who has a good grasp of the game.
