So stupid, lost 8.5bi since I got home and just tilted and played shitty and ran like shit and hated online poker since I got back home lol. Lost another 1.5bi in 145 hands and said ok no. Withdrew my roll for now, I'm done clearing bonuses on cake anyway. Going to go play at UB and pray the tables don't have nothing but regs and fish who can read my soul entirely.
Blahhh I dunno why I'm so furious at this right now. Between the cake software disconnecting me every two seconds since I've been home and running like shit and playing bad I just don't need to be playing for a good week or whatever.
I might just keep my money in my bank account and devote it all to a live roll back-up for a couple of weeks or what not.
Need to re-initiate a video site subscription to stay sharp etcetc.
Blah I don't know why I'm so tilted and I think it just has to do with moving and some personal stuff involved with it that is just killing my soul sooo bad (its for the best in the end..... I'm just an emofag about this one girl etcetc /slap self). I'll probably be back online sooner rather than later, just need to cool down life-wise..
Spending my last large amount of money tonight for a while, getting a table at a nightclub and stuff so that'll be a fun end to my week, wherein since last friday I've had like a 90% liquor diet LOL

So I was like omg whats happening dawg I started focusing a lil and my biggest SH hand so far arrived.
One guy threw money at us, the other one was very loose and has been very aggresive before that, doing crazy bad ass bluffs.
And I decided to play with him, when I believed I had even the slightest edge. Hence a call with 88 and funny hand. + Show Spoiler +

I continued in this trend of playing with the loose guys, with TAG style around 17/15.
But when you play with them and many hands with many people in pots, variance is inevitably going to increase.
And I unfortunately found out I can't handle it. I started being creative again, and soon after that I started playing 9 tables at once. Disaster was not far, and I went from $210 to $167, which would mean I'd have to decrease my $7 buy-ins.
I have been losing money for last 22,000 hands and I managed to go down over 1/3rd of my bankroll. So I made the decision. I needed some upward curve, I needed some confidence, I needed TO MOVE TO NL2 AGAIN
So I did it. I went for standard 20table grind which shot me up to NL5 over two weeks and 36,000 hands ago.
And it felt great. Not only I played the standard AQ+ nitting, but I actually used stats to steal blinds where possible, and I my c/bet success rate was around 90%.
After the experience on higher limits NL2 feels like a childs play. So I grinded for couple of hours and I was easily back at $200, reaching my regular NL2 slope I had with 4 tables while 20 tabling.
I was so exhausted, but I was back at $200 and the psychological level I needed to be able to play NL5 SH again.
The NL2 Grind taught me a lesson. I should NOT try to outplay 50+VP Fishes with only marginally better hands. So many of them enter the pot and I realised how I was beating the limit - playing with only extremely superior range against the opponents range.
So I decided to take this lesson to NL5 SH. I approached it like NL2 FR, played 12/10 rock style, showed others some very strong hands which I played with extreme safety like here: + Show Spoiler +

The PF raise was not supposed to catch this idiot, but good for me
So yeah. I will continue with the rock style play and image building with couple cheesy alterations here and there, at least until NL25, which as I saw in some PS videos starts to have a decent proportion of LAG/TAG players.
It seems they haven't released this yet but I feel like it's coming up soon. I looked at 2008 and it looks as if things started at the end of May. I just talked with my fiance about it and I'm definitely going to come out for at least a week, maybe 2. She's gonna try to get off of work and come for as much as she can. So the sooner I know the schedule the sooner we can start planning for it.
Any suggestions on hotels? I probably won't be any sort of real baller at that time so a less expensive hotel is definitely ideal for me. I've never been to vegas before so I have no idea how it all works. I've always heard about comps and special deals and so on but have no clue how to utilize that shit. Also since I'll be coming with my lady I'd rather have a hotel room that we can use as our own place rather than crashing on someones couch.
I definitely wanna try and meet up with as many vegas dwelling LP guys as possible. Hopeful to meet up with milkman (finally) and sakisaki if he's there. I'd love to meet myth and the rest of the LP vegas locals too. I figure during the WSOP there's going to be a LOT of LP guys so it should be like a mob walking down the street when we all get together. Sounds like fun.
So any suggestions on a place to get a room and any info on the schedule would be much appreciated. And if you're planning to be there too post a comment so I know to try and find you when I'm there =)
I gotta try and play some live poker btwn now and then cause I suck at live right now. Can't catch any tells and get totally confused about wtf is going on. I also suck at figuring out the pot size and how big peoples stacks are and so on. I need to practice some live so that when I get to vegas I'm not a total live fish who spends the entire time making adjustments from my online game to a live style.
Almost leaving, run bad @ poker.by Night2o1, March 28
Trying to do something fun w/ my friends before I leave town. Done some fun stuff with some of them but was hoping to cover the rest tonight by going to a club or something and buying a couple of bottles (something most of them haven't done b4), but I've gotten only mild interest.. Whatever, fuck em. I'll go with like 5 or so friends and that should be plenty.
Going to dinner w/ my dad tonight. Pretty sure he doesn't know I'm gonna be leaving so I get to tell him about that. Not sure how he'll react, but I don't want to deal with any angry parent bullshit at the moment.
Running bad in poker and feeling dumb atm as well. I just haven't had the patience right now and then some fucking shit happens and I get tilted quickly.
But ya, poker has been shit since I got back. I dropped another buyin in 250 hands.

weather was brilliant.
- 6 / - 11 celcius + sunshine all day + 5-12cm new snow every night.
perfect conditions.
Well it was my first time ever on a snowboard and therefore the 1st day sucked a bit.
I had plenty of falls and kinda felt like being completely beat up to shit ^^
couldnt sleep at night since i had plenty of bruise that hurt a lot
was with a couple of guys who were really good and therefore i learned kinda fast.
but first day was basically stand up slide a bit -> try to lean in for carving -> bam crash on my ass all day. repeat x 200
we woke up at 7.30am every day and started our first downhill at 9.15am ... kept snowboaring almost nonstop till 3-4pm every day
pretty intense ^^
the cool thing was that we did really train a shitload since we were all pretty athletic and had the stamina.
on the 3rd day was the first time i could do red downhill track doing drift curves from backside to frontside and back to backside in a continous motion without falling.
Also i learned to do switch from goovy to regular stance while riding without slowing down much.
Well after 7 days of nonstop snowboarding 4-5h a day i managed to become halfway decent beginner.
Consindering i started from absolute zero and have never ever in my life stood on snowboard or even ski before in my life
it was succesfull training and we all had lots of fun.
I even stood my first few 180s on the last day. ( i must admit though that i really slowed down a lot before the jump )
Now i can do drift curves, front and backside switch while riding , slow 180 and some medicore carving.
some pics will follow but i am too tired atm to upload it.
So I hadn't blogged in a while having been really focused on doing better at school, but in the middle of February i decided to start playing poker again and work my way back up. I'm pretty happy with the way my quarter and grades turned out and i feel being more responsible and playing less poker was part of that. Having said that going back to playing poker is a lot of fun! I really do enjoy the nuances of the game and its nice to be playing again.
I started out at again nl 10 and am now taking shots at nl 50. Along the way I really gained momentum with my confidence and play and I feel that now I might even be playing better than ever before. If anyone wants to chat about poker or just discuss some hands feel free to hit me up. As for next month I'm being optomistic and setting my goals high I'd like to be a solid winning regular at nl 100 by the end of next month.
Recently, I've worked on my showdown pots and being less of a station. I really should stop assuming people can bluff at nl 25 and nl 50. It's a work in progress
because i cant play tomorrow that much because of mondays work. i want to play a shitload today, but since iam not rolled for the 10$+ tours i want to know if someone is interessted in staking me for 20$+ tours! i think they are juicy and ive a good edge over them, ive like my best play in mtts and i feel like taking down one today!
ofc, ive alot of vouchers over there:The72o,twisted,locoo,bongky,pplusad, etc...
So I decided to set some goals for myself for March:
On March 01 2009 09:24 JerseyMuscle wrote:
Poker goals for March:

[] Playing NL50 regularly
[] Playing 40k hands

[] Not playing NL100+ or PLO50+ when I feel like I'm not accomplishing anything at these lower limits
Life goals for March:
[] Not spewing on anything unnecessary other than going out to eat/get drunk.
...and yeah, I didn't do too well.
-Gold Star? I didn't really play much at all this month for whatever reason, and didn't make it to Gold Star. Somehow with my limited number of hands I made it a little over halfway, which seems silly to me because last month was the first month I made Silver, which I guess will happen when you move up like I have, and aren't playing NL2/NL5/NL10 anymore. Sweet. Next month for sure.
-Playing NL50 regularly? This one is a win, though not through playing, so it's probably not. Around mid-March I cashed out a large portion of my roll, and when I put it back on I put more in there than I cashed out. This gave me a roll for NL50, though not through poker. So I'm calling this one a win, mainly because I didn't do well at the other goals.
-Playing 40k hands? lol. Try 4364. For whatever reason I only played 9 sessions this month, which is entirely too low. Some of them weren't even that long. I don't know why, but I haven't regained my focus and desire to play online, so hopefully that comes back.
-Mastering O8 and Stud8 to beat the soft 10/20 2-way at the Borgata? Eh, I've been reading more about the games, but I don't think this should be a priority for now. FWIW I did play about an hour of this at the Borgata and ended up down $200, so I'll take this one as a loss.
-Not playing NL100+ or PLO50+ when I feel like I'm not accomplishing anything at these lower limits? lol. Well, when I cashed out most of my roll I left $80 online, and one night while drinking I made some bad decisions. First I sat with the $80 at NL400 and turned it into $460. Sweet. Then I saw a shortstacker at a NL400HU table, so I sat with him and he dumped about $120 to me. Sweet again. Then I saw another one at NL600HU, so I stacked him for $120. Tres sweet. Now, instead of doing the smart thing and taking my $700 and again having my roll, I decided to be a degen. I really almost sat HU with RaSZi at NL600HU and gave him a $700 present, but I decided I would play another shortstacker at NL1kHU. Problem was he just was owning me. And while I wasn't paying attention he kept reloading a little at a time to cover me. Well, after spewing like $200 I decided I was getting up, and played my last hand. I didn't think he had the flush, and he did, so I was wrong for my last $500. So that was fun. So the next morning I made sure to lock myself out of anything about NL50, which is probably a good idea going forward. It was only $80 anyway, right? lol.
-Not spewing on anything unnecessary other than going out to eat/get drunk? Eh, I'm not quite sure what to call this one. I did buy all 4 seasons of Entourage on DVD, but I got them all while they were on sale. I'm going to call it a loss though, just for motivational purposes.
At this point I'm running at .42BB/100, though the sample size is incredibly small. I'm also running ~7 BI below expectation, so I expect that number to come up at some point. Here are my stats, though it's missing a BI I lost at a friend's house: http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/8066/statsacx.jpg
I'd like to get that PFR up a little more, ideally to about 19, and I've been playing more aggressive in the last 2 sessions. Anything people see that would help, or what you were running at NL50 would be appreciated. The accompanying graph as well: http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/1999/graphrno.jpg
Live play is going fairly well imo. The 2/5 at the Borgata is incredibly soft. This month's AC trips:
3/7 Borgata - +$1505(2/5)
3/11 Caesers - -$1000(2/5)
3/11 Ballys - +$700(BJ)
3/12 Borgata - +2140(2/5), +$75(BJ), -$75(Slots)
3/14 Borgata - -$1400(2/5), -$200(10/20 O8/S8), +$255(1/2)
3/21 Borgata - +340(2/5), -$140(1/2), +$145(2/5PLO), -$370(HEB)
March- $1585(2/5), +$115(1/2), +$145(2/5PLO), -$200(10/20 O8/S8), +$775(BJ), -$370(HEB), -$75(Slots)
March- $1975 overall
The Caeser's game was so different than the Borgata game, and I missed a couple big draws so I lost two buyins and left to play blackjack. The table I had on 3/14 was just brutal, though I didn't know until after I had lost a decent amount of money. There was one guy who coolered me pretty hard (set of kings on the turn vs. flopped set of aces) for a ~$1600 pot. Then this guy just went nuts and was three and four-betting so light. At one point someone called him and they checked through for this guy to show down 82o for a $220 4-bet PF. So I got it in against him with AJ for a stack and he of course had AK. Then I got it in with T8 on an 8222x board only for him to have TT. He turned out to be a 5/10 regular who will occasionally play 10/20+ so that kind of sucked. He just ran so hot that night. On that table was another 5/10 reg, two 2/5 regs, and two high-limit limit players, one who plays 40/80, and one who plays 80/160. Yeah, when I found most of this out later it kind of sucked, but at least I know for next time. If you play blackjack at Bally's, the Lucky Ladies bet or whatever made me like $300, even though its such a sucker bet. Any 20 pays 4:1, any suited 20 pays 9:1, any same-card 20s (ie. JsJs) pays 19:1, QhQh pays 125:1, and QhQh when the dealer has a blackjack pays 1000:1. Pretty standard sucker bet, but when you're already kind of counting 10s, you know when its better to make the bet. Also, never playing Hold 'Em Bonus again.
I'm probably done with poker for the month, so that's where I stand. In the coming days I hope to make an April goals list, which includes multiple nights of binge drinking for my birthday and my friend's girlfriend's birthday. One of the goals may be staying alive. GL LP.
At around hand 1.8k I had busted in some 35k gtd after being healthy on chips and just losing a ton of hands and was overall very tilted. So I decided to check results being the zero discipline newbie that I am and was like LOL i'm up 2k? Then I ate some leftover pizza from last night, played some video games (valkyria chronicles for the ps3 ftw), came back and played more and won another grand.
Brag: 3.3k day to offset the -6k mini-ds as of late
Beat: Can't even not check results for just ONE day
Variance: Ate a bowl of cereal and dominos pizza yesterday, along with today. Shitty diets ftl.
So after having to withdraw for school I decided to start over and be disciplined by using some sort of BR management. I have decided to use a 20-25 buy-in cushion depending on how long the previous limit took to beat consistently as well as how comfortable I am with the limit. I also plan to use a 50BB buy-in preference for the first few limits as I move up.
I left myself $8.56 after my withdrawal just to see if I could build up. I started playing NL2 a few days ago.
I had been playing very loose and aggressive and the other players weren't really playing back.
The villain in this hand took half my stack once with AK vs QQ AIPF.
From my experience i know alot of people like check trips on dry boards but like to protect on boards that could help draws. How often do you think that my raise will be effective?
back to plo 200 cant stand plo 100 on stars..........i cant describe in words how different the two levels are but all i know is i cant beat 100 on a consistent basis. plo 200 is just a totally different flow and for me at least is so much easier to play.
also been playing a bunch of micro tourneys to sharpen up and relearn some patience. i should be going to monte carlo (almost 80 percent sure) so i definitely want to sharpen my tourney play.

-no pair no draw........villain was pretty wreck less was putting him on a flush draw and was pretty confident i was ahead
Doing very good the last days. Coming closer to PlatinumStar as well. 390 VPP left yeehaw. I'll probably finish this on sunday.
I've been starting to play 3 tables of NL50 + 8 tables of NL25 since the last 3 sessions, and its going very good. It's nice to get used to the new limit faster.
