Well, I don't know if I'm even gonna play today, maybe a little bit, I was pretty busy this month with appointments and shit for my new house, had to go shopping for a bunch of stuff, bought a SPA, a 13k sofa and tons of other stuff. My uncle came over to check out everything we would have to change/fix in the house, we're going to redo the kitchen and basement's bathroom entirely, I had to get an appointment with a notary as well, anyways..... I still had time to play poker and considering how busy/lazy I was I'm really satisfied with my month as I'm currently at +121k
making 2009 at +406k so far, ahead of pace boys! :D
Here's my graph from partypoker, it says 21 days cuz I got back from Vegas on april 8th and couldn't play on party in the USA, I also won a bunch on cake and pacific, deposited 12k on ipoker and am now at 23k.... finally I tried ongame and the site sucks ass so I'm cashing out (basically every showdown tilts the fuck out of me cuz it seems like the software is slowrolling me everytime) and well I cashed out everything from betfair cuz I wasn't getting any action whatsoever anymore and I never really liked the software http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/1720/partyapril.jpg
I know I said I will play tight ABC at NL25.
I will not. Monkey style 32/30 9-20% 3Bet with a 4bet bluff here and there seems much better against most people as they are
1) Multitabling Nits
2) Monkeys themselves, who are not used to other monkeys
3) High VP Fish I raise wide range in position against them but once the flop comes and I miss I don't invest a cent.
4) Solid observing players against which I am forced to play solid myself. But if they go by stats they might not realise I am not so loose against them and it might give me a slight edge. However I met 2-3 Gold Stars where I felt that I don't have an edge anymore and people like this are a big challenge for me as they knew very well how to adjust.
Its the path of high variance, and a path that I am not very experienced at. I still make big amount of mistakes and my skills are challenged at all times, but I believe it pushes my poker skills forward.
Just to show you some fun Monkey v Monkey hands:
Hand1: My line seems weird? That was my intention. I bluffed this 40/35 guy a lot, and sometimes he saw my K8o, 35s kind of hands on board with 0 outs. After being down roughly $5 to him (but still up at the table thanks to the nits) I wake up with a monster.
His range here? Random.
I did my best for my line not to make any sense and first let him bluff turn, and than make it look like an obvious illogical bluff myself. I try very hard for my bluffs to make sense at all times and bet only when its logical for me to have a hand, preferrably in small pots or at very obvious spots, but the aggro NL10-NL25 players don't seem to realise this, and even the tight players try to counter aggression by aggression a lot.

Just a fun hand. This guy was stealing around 40%, so I started to 3bet him with anything semi-playable like A2o, any single gapper SC KTo etc. And he was folding, alot. Than he couldn't take it anymore and he started 4betting me All-in. 3 times I folded, but than I made my stand: + Show Spoiler +

Anyway my first year at uni (I came straight to second year) ends in one month.
Just got an essay with my usual 72% back (I had 3 modules last semestre, all 70-75% Overall mark, I could push it harder if my standard for 3k words essay was not one to two days of semi-studying and preparation for exams two days perhaps) is coming to an end and exams are in one month.
Than I have to find myself a job as I am going for an Internship next Uni Year,I had an interview with Sun Microsystems today and couple more are coming up, wish me luck ;o
The start of the month was amazing, very promising.
I ran really good at NL200 smashing everything. About Half way thru the month
I decided to stop playing when i was about at my peak because i was lifetilted (due to some events)
and i could tell that I am not going to win. Its that feeling I get.
Well I was bored so i decided to play more and as i played more i started to play bad and run bad
as you can see from the graph. Its pretty fuckin disgusting. So i kept playing and kept loosing
and running bad, so i thought if i stop running bad i can win at NL200 but it wasnt happening
and i jsut started to play worse.
I am still lifetilted so i cant play my A game so im cashing out to 3.5K and gonna play NL100
till I hit 4k again and then ill take shots at NL200 hopefully lifetilt will pass by and
ill crush NL200 again.
Okey, I've thinked alot about this with my deposit. On fulltilt Ive got a no deposit bonus I can play with, so there I don't need to deposit. I can use it as a drunk-poker site or something.
My research has shown that the Swedish State got a disgusting good rake! Only 2,5% which corresponding a rakeback on 50%. My deposit still is $100 (800SEK) which is 8 buyins on the lowest stake 0,5/1SEK. Around NL10 or NL12 if it has existed.
So I think that will be my place in the first months and then when I've got a good bankroll I will move to a international site where its more traffic.
For about the past month and a half now, I have been watching something broadcasted every Wednesday called Freedom Watch.
lol I know I know, good chance the very title of it just shunned out alot of you. But that imo is a good thing as the one's that stay aren't the narrow minded.
*Please note this is NOT the same Freedom Watch lobbying organization that was supportive of Bush. It has nothing to do with that and is something entirely different.*
This is a show moderated by Judge Andrew Napolitano.
I admit I was taken aback when I first started watching this show because I thought to myself, "Who is this gangster?" but this man knows his stuff inside and out and is solid as a rock. Hell he was a state Supreme Court Judge after all. I was obviously showing my ignorance.
Here's an intro to the Judge.
I say moderated because unlike the video above there is lots of discussion with people on the show and a big part of it is based/controlled by the viewers. You can twitter your questions/thoughts/advice to be said towards the end of the show live or you can email your opinions of what you think is important or who you would like to see on a future show. Basically the viewers help with the direction of the questions and flow of the current show as well as the upcoming one.
Just to name a few of the guests so far they have had people like Peter Schiff, Gerald Celente, Ron Paul, Daniel Hannan and Lew Rockwell on board.
Discussions primarily stick to liberty and the overreaching federal government. A few things discussed that I can think of off the top of my head would be things like the propping of the housing market, the bailouts, Republican and Democrats being one and the same, economics 101, The Constitution and the rule of law, torture... and people getting arrested or beaten for standing up for their individual rights. And what's really cool is unlike anywhere in the mainstream media, you don't just have some reporter being the host on these topics, you have a fucking Judge giving his insight onto the rights and wrongs. If you start to watch this show regularly you see a HUGE difference. This show Freedom Watch hits upon things going on in this country that actually have importance imo.
Also I know how alot of you feel about FOX and believe me I understand. Know that regardless of the little things you see that say FOX, this is not a mainstream FOX show and it is not aired on cable (as far as I know). Again as far as I know it only has the FOX label because it is broadcasted from within the FOX building and is nothing like the mainstream. It is completely different than anything else by that network that I've seen to this date.
Since this show is not big league funded (and you can tell) it has glitches from time to time. I believe they are even using skype for their phone calls. Personally I think it's good to see how they have to workaround the glitches. Also with it's structure it has tons of impromptu moments which I really like and prefer.
For example here's a moment on the torture issue..
Tell me how you really feel eh? =D
To end, I'm going to call this blog "My Response" because it apparently seems that after seeing the master tonight, alot of people have their Obama Kool-Aid cups refilled and so I want to try to start posting a weekly blog here with this show and hopefully the issues within it get discussed or at least seen. To me it is definitely worth watching and worth the work and at least me expressing my views constructively will do me good.
I'm sure I'll have to remember I said that ^^
So im playing meh 1/2 NL omaha home game and the following hand comes up....
Hero: $240
Seat 2: $70
seat 3: $49
Seat 4: $320
Basically the table had run quite standard given the fact we were playing short handed and no1 had done anything crazy. One more note, most of the people in my homegame are crazed drunk degenenerate gamblres.
So Seat 4 is the BTN and the hand is dealt....
Im the Sb and im dealt JJ24 with a heart flush draw. Seat 3 calls and Seat 4 raises the pot to $7. Pretty easy call for me cause im thinking... Seat 4 is as fearless as chuck norris and wont let a hand go, so im just set minning.
To my surprise the other 2 players in the hand call, and this raises the pot to $28.
Flop J109 two diamonds.
So im fisrt 2 act and decided to check given the aggrasion of the table. Now the funniest of things happens, after I check Seat 2 decides to fire $10 into the pot and Seat 3 does the standard "Ohh i wonder, what shall I do, I have QK" and shoves all in, which re-raises $63 total. Here is where the funny part comes up. Seat 4, the bigstack decides to just just smooth call the $63 bet. Now im thinking, sweet i can shove all in and get called for $210 aganist a lesser hand, prolly a flush or if im lucky enough a smaller set. So I pop the all in, Seat 2 calls and Seat 4 calls. Before we show cards the turn card is dealt, bingo 10 of hearts. Know we all show and i go -Warning never attempt this at home- Sweet does anyone have quad 10s and all go no, so i start graving all the chips and Seat 4 syas... wait i have AADD. Then i say to myself fuk i just jynxed the devil out of myself.
As I shout and predict my own demise BOOM river A. I just ponder what I did wrong as I watch the $599 vanish into the mist of my thought to haunt me.....

He's delusional. He can't communicate his ideas. He behaves like a spastic fish at every opportunity.
His non-interventionist policy is so 18th century. We are no longer on the fucking Mayflower and it does not take a month to cross Atlantic. Hello, Mach 5. I can now fuck with you from half the world away.
His Constitution-obsession is retarded. Hello, 3/5ths clause. The Constitution is not divine writ. It is completely fallible.
His political career, according to Wikipedia, got its start when the US finally cut its remaining ties with the gold standard... "After that day, all money would be political money rather than money of real value. I was astounded."
I guess his heart is in the right place and in some sense that puts him ahead of approximately 534 other Congressmen, but he's still retarded. The unadulterated adulation in the UIEGA thread is so misguided, but if he and his cohorts deliver the fish I guess I'll probably forgive him because I'm results oriented like that
aaalmost... I just withdrew the rest of my money from Pokerstars account and uninstalled the software.
So the topic name was just to lure people into entering my blog I believe.
I decided to study for the exam to Warsaw School of Economics and go for Master degree. Previously I was thinking of
becoming a grinder for one year after finishing my bachelor and to travel around the world for a bit more. I was checking
appartments in South Korea, Brazil and Australia where I would be staying with a friend. But the life goes on, and your
priorities change over time. I can't say I don't want to travel around the world no more, but I don't think I want to be doing that spending most of my time grinding. If I manage to get in into WSE I'll get the chance of having another student exchange. I want to visit South America so probably I would be applying to Sao Paulo, who knows.
Additionally I don't think I have the mentality of a grinder. I remember when almost two years ago I started off playing @ NL2. Once, I sat @ NL10 being underrolled and the blinds were sooo huge to me. I literally felt the pressure of being in the BB having 10cents on me. I was like "Can't let 74o go... my 10 cents... aaaaa". Now it really doesn't bother me that much if I lose couple houndred knowing that I played well.
However, having swings bothers me. I spent two months playing poker every day having no other activities aside. It was pretty much unproductive period of time. I was going sleep later, and later every day. I felt like shit going to sleep when the sun was going up, and waking up when it was going down.
If I had the chance to repeat those two months I would have set some sort of schedule, and for sure other regular activities, duties - learning other languages in some school two, three times a week, doing sport ( alto I am not a fan of doing it during winter indoors ) or anything else
except poker. First two weeks were ok, but then I was just exhausted with the downswings and couldn't play any good poker. I was still up for the 2 months but I am certain that I could get a better result if I spend half of the time doing something else, in a different
environment away from the computer.
Another thing is that I realized that I don't care about money. I thought that once I have some, I would like to spend it - well... I don't...I don't have too many materialistic needs - or none. All the money I have comes from poker. I made about 10K$ over last 6 months which I haven't touched really as I still live with my parents. Previously I made also some money playing live in Macau, and Philipines but I was spending a lot on travelling and partying so I didn't earn so much - maybe brought home only 2 or 3K.
I still am visiting LP.net every day, and following the scene but playing is not the main focus now.
However, I'll be going to Las Vegas in September. My cousin's wedding is in Florida by the end of the Sept, so I am most likely to be in States before to see LV. I will probably be staying there 2-3 weeks to play. It would be fun to see any LPers there
It is exactly one month today since I started playing SH.
I had 49,000 Hands at NL5 with 9 BB/100
I went to NL10 in the half of the month rougly for 3k Hands and lost 3BI, and kept losing even on NL5 for a while.
I returned 10 days ago and ran at 10BB/100 over 10K hands.
Three days ago I tasted NL25 and after I was as expected 3BI down after 100 hands I ran quite nicely and went to 20BB/100 over 2K hands.
Summary: I am happy with my first month of playing short-handed and after the failed NL10 attempt at 18K hands at NL10 I re-evaluated my game and things went pretty nicely for me, result and game wise.
May Goals:
Stay NL25 regular. I seem to run suspiciously good and even though I have almost 40BI now the doom switch may be around the corner.
If I manage that only sky will be the limit.
P.S. Since yesterday I am officially a Silver Star at Pokerstars, wee
+1300 in rakeback too, pretty lucrative month i guess =|
I'm moving in with my friend in a couple weeks and stuff, not much else to update except that i almost died recently from appendicitis. Luckily it stopped hurting so bad that i couldnt move and i saved myself from a 1k+ trip to the emergency room and or a way expensive surgery to remove my appendix (run good with sturbbornness?)
holla
edit - i think my plan for next month is to win however much it is that i need to cashout to live on for june@ nl100, so probably 1.5k-2k and then cash it out and dedicate the rest of the month of may becoming nl200 only
edit 2 - I'M SO HAPPY that im not a retard degen who cant handle losing anymore. That break even stretch did nothing but drive me to play more and more. The old me would have said fuck it and cashed out or took a shot at a big tournament or something. Going on 3 months of successful grinding maybe i'll post my whole graph from the time i deposited to cake.
