| | lool I'm dying by Night2o1, June 27
For some reason I never went to sleep. Fixing to hit the sack after 30+ hours of awakeness running on 4 hours of sleep. Shits retarded brah.
Bigredhoss showed up at the house today so that was cool. Big group went to naked fish(super sick sushi joint) tonight:

NIGHT2O1!!!!!
VanDerMey.. fuck I don't know how to spell it
Pooruser
Citizenwind
Fuck there were 1 or 2 others I think but they were across the table and I honestly can't remember at the moment lol.
Was a good dinner.
Also met Fraser and MiPwNYa the other night, which was awesome as they both turned out to be really cool dudes. Played pool, played a sit 'n go with the sick line up of Peachy, Pooruser, Fraser, MiPwNYa, and I. Obviously, Pooruser and I chopped his 4:1 chip lead due to his fear of me heads up. Also played Tennis. By 7AM Fraser was stuck $120 to me in propbets but obviously I got hustled out of it when we all agreed to flip and quite frankly, Fraser is the smaller-stakes Artanis when it comes to flipping IMO. Pooruser got hustled the sickest by Fraser in flips though, so I don't feel too bad.
So things have been good except for poker which I'm sure will pick up and I'll go on a massive heater soon. Definitely been playing an hour or 2 of nl10 PLO on FTP where I will be experimenting and see what I think of the game (I've been having a lot of fun so far). We'll see if that goes anywhere... Otherwise just trying to think about my NLH game and try to sort of hit my next breakthrough
/edit
FUCK I forgot Ket, I hardly talked to him because he was way across the table

| | Sit N Go Time by deahttubb, June 26
Have been hit with a downswing playing micro cash games so I switched to Sit n Go's for a change. MY downswing continued and I must suck.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/a9467157b334d6b2e636bc55e21fe878.png
I played one guy heads up 13 times and he ran insanely hot but had insane betting tells so that sucked. What resources are there or should I just build a larger roll and get used to it?
Thanks

| | Good day by Cooper83, June 26
1)It's finally starting to cool down outside from this 95 degrees with 90%+ humidity, having swamp nuts from sitting in a chair is just not pleasant.
2)GF is coming for the weekend woohoo.
3)Played 3 sessions today, first two I started out well and missed a couple combo draws late to finish up about 1/2 a buyin in 2k hands which isn't bad I'll take it. The 3rd session however, went extremely well. I won every single big pot I was involved in 2 of which were flips when it went in. It feels really really well to be on this side of things, overall +6 buyin session which I'm really happy about.
On that note I need to go shower my GF should be here soon. Hope this heater continues

| | Solid Session by egood, June 26
4 and 6 tabled 50nl today rather than do my usual 8-10 tables really worked on my game, overall it was pretty solid. Played a laggier 23/21 which probably was just a tad too loose for the games, but /shrug. Was trying to work on my red line.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v670/krzxalien/sesh.jpg
was gonna end the session +4 buy ins then the last hand I was gonna play this happens:
Villain was 20/14 over 109 hands. Could anyone fold this, or just a setup?

| | Conclusions by Chewits, June 26
I have come to the conclusion that I cannot play cash games effectively with a 20-25 BI bankroll. I let -3 BI sessions get to me, when they really shouldn't. Its only 3 BI. When I was playing NL10, 3 BI was really nothing. It would not effect me. Then at NL25 it effected me a little, but not too bad. Now at NL50, it effects me. I start to tighten up after loosing some standard beats, and stop playing at my best. Even if I go take a break and come back, I cannot get rid of it from my mind. I tell myself, to not think about the money, but I guess loosing $150 in space of 30 minutes with a $1200 bankroll effects me.
So I could move back down to NL25 and grind up a more comfortable bankroll for NL50. But I do not like this option. Why? Because my NL25 winrate has not been amazing. The truth of the matter is, i make a ton more money from tournaments than I do in cash games. In fact if I didn't play cash games, I would probably have a lot more of a bankroll. In fact in the last 40k hands, I have lost a total of $700 playing NL25/NL50. Yea thats right. $700. Yet I am a constant winner in large field sit+gos.
And I have come to the conclusion as to why. You see it does not effect me if my Aces get cracked by KQ in a $4 donkament. It doesn't effect me in a $12 donkament either. it has no effect. I see it as standard and I continue to play my 'A' game. It really is down to my bankroll. Some people can play with 20 BI bankrolls. But I have discovered that it simply will not work for me. I cannot always play my A game with the amount of bankroll.
So my new goals. I have decided that the month of July I am going to playing a lot of sit+gos and donkaments, to build a larger bankroll to go and attack NL50 again. Depending on this success I may not even go back to cash games, as if I have a sustainable edge at sit+gos, why stop? my only concerns of playing the 180man sit+gos, are that the non turbo ones take up a lot of time. Average of 4 hours for FT, is a long time. And it is pretty mentally draining as you cannot really take any breaks if you are multi tabling these, as the breaks overlap (yea stars plz get FTP breaks asap). So I think I will take a look at the turbos as well, as a lot of people play pretty poor in these.
I remember Boku amazing us all by making $10k in 15 days from $100. It reminded me that there is profit in sit+gos. I feel this is the right way to build a bankroll for me.
I am thinking of around 4k bankroll for NL50. What are your thoughts on this? if it goes well I might even grind roll for NL100!
See you at the tables

| | This is Difficult... by SeanBam, June 26
Well, $25 is not really much to start with. And I'm finding it very difficult to actually figure out what the best way to try and build this roll up without going insane. I don't have enough of a BR to play basically any SNG, and I'm finding it quite pointless to grind out hours for a measly $5 gain or so. Seems just like a waste, and the .01/.02 tables though very easy, are again kind of annoying to be spending hours playing.
Unfortunately, this job search has been going absolutely terrible. I have a Bachelor's Degree which I think absolutely hinders me. I went for an interview for a job working at a front desk for a gym for $10 / hr, she said that I was "over qualified" for the position since I'll probably leave for greener pastures. In response, I said "Have you been out there looking for jobs recently? There is no such thing as "overqualified" anymore" It's terrible for that job there were 14 interviewees. And for a cheese clerk position there was 12. Luckily I was one of the 3 finalist where I had to spend a volunteer hour working to see if I could beat out the other candidates. I don't even know how much the job pays, but it's probably not much, and the woman said that if I didn't get a call before the weekend then I didn't have the job. I applied at Dunkin' Donuts as well, where there was actually a sign that said "Help Wanted" The man gave me a puzzled look after looking at past experiences and education.
I just don't know what to do anymore. I am completely flat broke, and I must say a bit depressed. I don't really have a reason for being the least bit depressed, but money issues are constantly lingering in my head. I'm not going to give up on looking for jobs, that will never be the case, because it's money that will never have swings associated with it, other than taxes: . Plus, I really love interacting with the general public. However, for the time being, I'm really thinking about asking for a stake. I never thought I would ever conceive of looking for a staker, but I don't really know what else to do.
For one, I have no idea what the rules are with staking. All I know is that someone puts out a sum of money for you, and in return there is some sort of interest put on you etc. etc. etc. So, I think I'm going to ponder the idea for a bit. And I was looking for help from the community in helping me make my decision. If I was going for a stake, I would like to start at 10NL. I would really like to start at 25NL but I'm a little weary, because I've never used another persons money. So I wanted to know what is a reasonable stake to ask for? Also, if anyone would even be interested? And what the stake would actually entail as far as payback. I'm sorry I don't have any poker tracker results to back me up. But I am a winning player at 10NL and I was a winning player at 25NL for a very long time before I cashed out my roll.
So Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

| | 1st losing session of coming back. by TheTank, June 26
However, i am proud that i quit when and showed tilt control. What set me off is that every time i've shoved w/ JJ-AA, i've lost. 6 hands i've had JJ-AA, shoved pf or on flop, got called and got runnered/coolered etc. In previous blog i showed my AA vs KK, guy w/ KK flops a boat, and when i had KK, i went up against AA. Well last night i had aces twice, jacks, and queens... all are ahead, all get beat. I flop trips with my jacks, guy calls an all-in with Ah2d, catches two more hearts for nut flush. Same thing happened with AA, he had AJo, catches runner runner for a flush. This has happened four times last night, twice the night before, and 100% of the time when i have a big pocket pair and am ahead when i get it in *sigh*
I'm just glad i realized i was upset and playing out of my zone, so i quit. Today will be a better day indeed.
Also, my father said that if i can get 2.5k, he'll go 50/50 with me to get the truck that i want.
So with my two jobs...maybe mowing lawns or something... and hopefully pokerz, i can get 2.5k by august and it won't be sold. I'm also trying to save up for school and a new comptuer *sigh* daunting task. But hey, anything you put your mind to you can accomplish.

| | Tilt by SakiSaki, June 26
Im to tired to write about alot of hands, i might update later but idk. Yesterday me and aj played 5/10 at the wynn, and whos sitting at the other 5/10 table if not the one and only, the epic, the magic, the legendary nazgul! Our table was a mustmove so I got moved to nazguls left pretty early. He was sitting like 8k deep or something at 5/10 and he was completely fucking raping the table. It was so hilarious, he just bombed like a madman and the whole table was on such sick tilt. Fortunately I was to his left so I didnt get raped as much. Dont really remember any hands except the last one where its folded to naz in the sb he raises and I call in the bb with A10o. Flop comes 1023r naz checks I bet kinda big and naz just snapshoves over and I call pretty fast. Idk what naz had but w/e, winning an all in against naz was pretty awesome.
Today me and aj played 10/20 at the bellagio, I was doing pretty well and my table was really soft. I will probably talk about some hands later but tonight im to tired. I ran pretty well and was up like 5k at one point, aj was crushing his table and had ran up 2k to like 10k or something. Our entire house has tickets to see the new transformers movie but neither me or aj felt like leaving the tables so we stayed and grinded instead. Turns out that was a misstake.
I played a couple of hands badish and dropped like 3k before me and aj decided to go eat. All restaurants where practicly full though so we picked up our chips and headed to the wynn instead. The 5/10 list was ridicilous but they started a 10/20 game pretty soon and we sat down. Our table was the mustmove so aj and like half the table got moved pretty quickly. Left was me, two 25/50 regs and one asian dude. A terrible fucking table and I have no idea why I kept playing. w/e, I lost a couple of hands where draws didnt get there or w/e, and then this really strange hand comes up:
One of the 25/50 players(think he said he played 25/50 online but i sorta doubt that but meh) opens on the button and I 3-bet to like 300 in the sb with Q10hh. I have like 4k he covers. He calls flop comes J97r giving me a straight draws and bd fd. I bet like half pot he calls. Turn is 4h giving me a flushdraw. I bet like 600-700 into a 1,2k pot or something. Villian thinks for a while, asks how much I have and then makes it 2,1k. Im so confused but I cant really fold since im getting raw pot odds to call and I cant really shove cause after I call i only have 1,5k left and no fold equity. I call and river is a 7 pairing the board. I consider jamming for like 2 seconds before i check, villian thinks for a while, checks and shows down K10 for k high. FML
I think I probably played it fine but idk, stacksizes made it weird and stuff. All in all I played pretty well imo but the table was tough and my draws never got there so I ended up down like 2,2k making today a negative $200.
I should just not play 10/20 at the wynn at all when the bellagio is just wayway softer.
Anyways, im still up like 4k on the trip in cashgames so I cant complain, might grind some tomorrow if im not still tilted and on saturday im playing the 1500 event.
Peace

| | Redline Fighting ~.~ by LemOn[5thF], June 26
Since I run like shit again and am forced to stay at NL10 (I set myself a goal of 3bb/100 overall since I reseted my database 30k hands ago -currently 12BI below EV and 1.2bb/100 lol).
I decided to work on my redline since it was downward sloping and the best was breakeven.
At first I went for a huge monkey style, push everything to the maximum and run some huge bluffs (got stacked with air about 9 times hehe -.-)
Ran about 34/26 and at times my red line was sloping up and away.
The results were a 'little bit' swingy though ;o
After this I took the lessons from the huge bluffest I was trying to pull and tightened back to 22/18.
I have added a whole new set of moves into my repertoire which all involve Call Preflop.
I was never calling so far, only set mining.
I start calling weak regs and weak people generally. I added donkbet, bluff check/raise, various types of floating and fake river value bets.
I also started to double barrel people that have 20%+ fold turn stats a ton, and for the first time I started to Show My bluffsto tilt enemies.
So far I keep up the what seemed to be impossible- positive red line at NL10.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/b3028accfe0c2649e065ea9191f78d12.png
I have to admit that the results are the same as when I play 14/13, but tell you what, this is helluva fun :D
Just an evidence of how bad I run:
