Pokerz can be frustrating by 4Kingell, July 01

One of those sessions where you feel you've played really well and made some good decisions that were well thought out but end up being screwed by the fish. 1000-ish hands and 3 buyins down when I really felt I'd played well.

Just glad I had the discipline to quit as I was feeling the tiltz creeping up....

EPIC SHOUCAST INCOMING! by Day[9], July 01

IM CASTING CHILL VS COMBAT-EX EGO bo5 STARCRAFT MATCH AT 4PM PST. STAY TUNED FOR STREAM LINK.

SERIES OVER -- MORE WILL OCCUR IN THE FUTURE

why does anyone give a fuck?

allow me to explain the backstory.

Once upon a time there was a wee canadian lad by the name of Combat-EX (whom I shall refer to as combat for the remainder of this story). Our good friend Combat began doing a unique wonderful thing for the starcraft community: he posted on youtube hundreds of starcraft VODs of himself playing with voiceover commentary. Traditionally, there has been an wealth of advice to bring players from the D level to the C level (ie bring weaker players to the intermediate level), but not so much anything to bring a TOTAL newbie to the understandings of starcraft basics. I saw Combat's rise in popularity and thought to myself "he's doing an excellent job of creating a doorway through starcraft's vicious barrier to entry."

Until "THE SCREENSHOT" was posted

http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/2945/75989237.png

After the release of this image, many other similar images were posted, all with Combat ex begging for the win and/or OFFERING TO WINTRADE? Immediately, the starcraft community trounced combat with vicious flames and his accounts were banned from iccup.

Much of the community demanded an apology video, which Combat ex provided. Unfortunately, it was one of the least genuine sounding apology videos of all time, so teamliquid raged still.

AND THEN COMES EPIC MOTHERFUCKING LEGENDARY EGO MATCH.

Chill, the strategy forum moderator for teamliquid, challenged COMBAT TO A BEST OF 5. This best of 5 will be cast in about ~1 hour (4pm) by Day[9] aka MOI aka yours truly.

FUCK i can't wait. maybe this should be moved from my blog section to the general section so that further hundreds of people can check out the livestream (link will be up soon). FUCK YEAH BABY!

LIVE FT!!!! by TheTank, July 01

The same tourney that i took down about 3 weeks ago i played against last night. I FT'ed for the 2nd time in a row, however this time i had bad luck at FT, and ended up getting 6th. My first table, there was a plethera of talented players, somewhat nitty, but still for the place i was playing, they were some of the best ones there. A few hands before i was on the button with KK, had about 3 limpers and had just enough to shove and make everyone fold, picking up 4 bbs and a sb to put me into chipleader at the table. Then UTG i made what i thought was smart at the time, but looking back, no so smart. I was dealt ATdd, and after thinking about it, knowing there were nits at the table (after about 1hr 30 min, only 1 person had been knocked out at the table), so i decide to shove. I get 3 callers. QQ, KQhh, AKo,...i have them all covered, and the guy with AK couldn't make the blind when he shoved (he was dealer), and we rivered an A, for the win. He got 3 k and i had 28k. I go to my next table and within 3 hands 3 people have been eliminated at my new table, and i am the short stack at 25k...We quickly went to a FT, at i had AKo, with blinds at 4k 8k, and my stack is at 23, so i shove. The chick next to me calls with 18k, with a monsterous Q5hh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and turns a Q. =( I shove from utg 2 hands later with 45hh, spike a 4 on the flop, go out next hand with KQs *sigh* but hey, it's still 6th and a FT.

VEGAS FRIDAYYYYYYYYYYY! looking forward to partyin' it up LP!!!

Mindset is so bad atm by Night2o1, July 01

Ugh, really been playing scared money lately + loss of confidence has really caused me to make a lot of backwards choices and mistrusts of my first conclusion when making a decision. I really gotta figure out a way to sort myself out because I've cost myself so much money due to this.
Plus on top of making a lot bad decisions due to second guessing myself, I'm running really crappy. Though I definitely could have much more profit than I do now if I was playing the game like I know I'm capable of (like 9/10 of the last big decisions I've made I've done the opposite of my first instinct/thought and made the wrong move like every time, its nearly comical..)

Well I guess this is mostly a personal issue that outside help can't do too much for. (though I suppose some coaching would still help ofc). So I'll kick myself in the ass and focus on sorting my head out, trusting my first conclusion, and definitely catch myself if I start thinking in terms of scared money.

Good luck to me (and you)

June by LemOn[5thF], July 01

First 10 days at old flat were about 10bb/100 over 10k hands which I all withdrew though, and after than purged my database.

Ended month at $900 instead of $1600 due to the withdrawals.

With the first 10 days that would be about 3.5bb/100, better than 0.5bb/100 that I managed last month -.-

Today +$130, tried NL50 for some, and there doesn't seem to be a big difference apart from people folding more which kinda suits me (The regs didn't figure out how much of a monkey am I yet, it might change just like it did with regs at NL25)

June results by Newblish, July 01

June was a very good month. I was running pretty much on par with my all-in EV which made me very happy considering i was somewhere like 40 nl50 BI's below EV last month playing nl50 heads up at one point.

Played nl100 for like a week then took shots i should have taken awhile ago at nl200 and it was successful. I plan to move up to nl400 once i get like 4-5k more.

Here is June's graph. Had a sick heater near the end

http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/2299/junegraph.jpg

My goal is simply to play more. I only play like 0-3 hours a day on average but i could be making more and moving up quicker if i simply took more time to grind as i have done in the past.

All in all - very happy with my progess consisdering how bad ive felt ive run in the past(as my previous blog posts would suggest ) Ive come to accept losing more than i used to and am really starting to realize that when i do lose a pot that i "shouldnt" lose that there is nothing i can do about it.

Peace.

-7.7k June!! My Prop Bets for July by Joeingram1, July 01

Okay so June actually didn't end that badly considering i was down like 15k at one point. Ended up +1k in mtt and +2k in fpp so overall was only down around 4.3kish which I am very happy with.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/7d1ff189c629274eadfed05c712231e2.jpg
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/f286a62319c0534c091bbd305bd77965.jpg

I obv regret playing 5/10 and 3/6 6max when I really didnt play higher then nl100 6 max ever before. Probably won't make this same mistake again but who knows. I can't play higher then nl200 b4 I make 10k since my 52 BI downswing so I think I'm around halfway there. I am still also way behind SNE pace but still think I can make it with some sicko grinding.

For July I have a few prop bets. I found action on me making it to 10k profit at NL100 FR and I might play some 6max which counts also but I doubt I will play much if any. Also have some bets with 3J55 and PHIDELT799 where I have to make more then either of them or they win so basically who makes more bet. Petteytheft also says he will make 16k at nl200 this month so we bet 2k on that if he does and I dont make 10k then he wins and viceversa. If we both do it then its a push. Also made some volume prop bets with a few different people so I am going to need to play 200k hands min. Should be an exciting month and I plan to make around 100k+ VPP and hopefully 20k in profit from playing/fpp/milestone.

Go Dashornman at NL25, have money on him doing well this month lol

Thanks for reading, will be updating my quest this month!

Also for those who are curious what someone who enjoys playing millions of hands looks like, this is muah

WSOP ME by NeillyJQ, July 01

Hi guys, its becoming apparent I won't be able to play the WSOP ME unless someone from LP can meet me somewhere in vegas and do a $10k PS transfer for $10k in cash

If I don't play in the ME, I will transfer all %'s back to peoples accounts before the 5th of the month, most likely on the morning of the 3rd. (can still can get in on the 4th, so with any hope of playing I will wait until the 4th to find out)

I e-mailed support@pokerstars.com about doing a wire transfer and how long this will take (i was assuming 1 day), and they said 72 hrs + up to 72 more hours of processing. (this is particularly annoying since I use Wells Fargo Bank (same bank that I receive most of my paychecks from)

So, if anyone knows any trustworthy high stakes players in vegas, I'd like to do a transfer with them to play in the ME (10k stars for 10k cash) or will be transfering %'s back

Either way, Thanks LP for your support and help to get in the event. Unfortunate how this happens, but u know how it goes

If I don't play in the WSOP ME, I will be playing some of the higher stakes Venetian deepstack tournaments coming up later this month and next month

Confirming twisted's 3% as well here ($285)

GL LP,
Hope I can get in

Best of luck to everyone else in the world series ME and in life

Ryan
