Sup guys. Haven't been playing for a while now, and it feels good.
Also got a job now, so I will not have to cash out anything, and I can play without feeling pressured at all, which is very good.
Been playing a bit of NL25 today and yesterday, only 4 tabling now and really concentrating a lot, will continue doing this. I'm also implementing a stop loss, which is vital to protect myself from my tilt monkeyness.
I have been thinking about my game a lot in the past few days, and I think I do have some big leaks, and instead of dispelling this further I'd rather like to fix them. My redline has never been great, sometimes it has been slightly positive but lately it is just slowly going down and down, I think this is the result of bad play in the blinds.
I'll post my positional stats and I'd be very happy if someone of you could give any input on what you think about them. These stats are from NL25 and mostly while 12+ tabling the last months.
As you see, my blinds are really AWFUL. If I were to fold ANY hand in the BB/SB, I should have done better than I did, is that correct? Because assuming 6max tables, I am in the BB 16.67 times out of 100 hands, this means I would lose 16.7BB/100 which is HALF of what I'm losing now. Same about the SB, assuming I fold every hand there I'd lose 8.3 BB/100, still better than what I did. Or do I have any flaws in my thinking there?
Since starting to play limit about a month ago it has been amazing. So much fun and it brings so much life to poker to learn a new game. The beginning of the graph is me learning limit on .50/1.00 and 1/2. Little bit of a struggle here and there but the players are so bad that its hard to stay stuck. It didn't take long (of course 8 hours a day are spent either playing or being sweated by my coach or discussing dynamics and lines of the game) before I was comfortable playing 2/4. Of course my bankroll isn't large enough at all to play as high as I am but I feel very confident in my game as of now. The latter part of the graph is 2/4 with some dabbling in 3/6.
Also I hit platinum for the fist time this month and found out that after taking 5 months off from poker this year I can still hit SuperNova. Ship the bonuses.

There are more I'm too tired to find them. So flustered atm, poker is being such a faggot.
Speaking of that, I watched Bruno in theaters tonight. Pretty good, but the crowd I was with seemed deeply disturbed by some of the stuff in it. I thought it was pretty standard (very rofl of course). Less meatspin would've been nice.
My gf is entering a makeup contest and the theme is looking like your favourite purse(dont flame me, i'm just the messenger). Anyways, if you could watch the vid and give her 5 stars that would be awesome, so she has a better chance of winning Thanks. Plus I think she did a good job.
been seeing alot of shortstackers at night. kinda gay. i'm just gonna write about my experiences with them so far, any tips/advice is always welcome.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Shortstackers: A summary
There exists 2 types: fish and shark. Fish tend to limp/call at will so always bet for value against them. They shove sometimes with no reasoning, and will lead for a retarded amount. I've had good success just raising their raise and they seem to fold fine. The shark type usually conceals himself with a shortstack. And people usually will stack off with them light. Unfortunately they tend to stack off with JJ + and AK exclusively. I think people in general like to stack off way to light with these players, mainly because it's kinda fun to stack off for 5 bucks.
Due to short stack, there are few decisions for them to make. You are essentially always risking their shortstack with a cbet. There is no way to outplay them. There is really no room for higher thinking. I like to narrow my range, and bet a little extra with good hands and force my good cards to balance his gay short stack play.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Also, something i've been doing is more or less immediately getting up if a gold/platinum star sits next to me. I feel like in nl25 there isn't much poker to be played, except properly value betting, and properly concealing the strength of your hand is all you have to do. I don't even bluff much at this level either. I figure the gold stars + will rarely spew, and there really isn't a point in playing them. However is there anything to be learned by sitting with them?
Anyway, just wanted to say I'm selling percentages off of myself in Unibet Open London (http://www.unibetopen.com/tournament-info/), which is a £2750 ($4430) donkament starting this Thursday. It has a really good structure imo and there should be 250-300 players.
I'm primarily a cash game player (I play 2/4 eur atm), but this year I started playing $400-$1000 live tournies in Czech Republic and to a lesser extent abroad. It's a really small sample, but I have about 140% ROI in them so far. I also took down the Supernova Freeroll for about $7.5k last year. I definitely have a good idea about tournament theory and believe I should have a significant edge over the field.
There's no premium, so I'm pretty sure it's +EV to buy some.
If you want to buy or have questions, you can post here, PM me, MSN me or whatever. I accept PS$.
Tom and I were planning on making some low limit videos 5nl-50nl 4 tabling at http://www.pokermuscle.com, so new players learn how to play. They will all be free to members. What stakes should we do?
The poker room near me has it in the rules that the winner of a hand at showdown can ask to see the loser's hand. Is asking to see their hand just for information bad form? Would you ever do it just for information?
Yes I'm asking because a couple people did it last night. One guy sat down with a super small stack and on his first hand he gets it all in with AQ on Q high board and asks to see his opponent's mucked hand which was Q9.
I passed the entry exam to the Warsaw School of Economics. Yay. There were approx. 6-7 candidates for 1 spot and I almost bubbled out cause the required amount of points were 57/100 and I got 59. The test was tough tho. Around 40% of it was micro / macro economics, 30% was world economy, european union info, political geography and the remaining 30% was english at which I suck. Anyways, it's passed. Hopefully in two years I will get master degree in Finance. And for the most part I'm happy beacause I won't pay a dime for it.
I had quite different plans even couple months ago beacuse I wanted to travel for a year or sth. I decided to go for masters 2-3 months ago and then started preparing. Out of the 4 semesters that I will have to complete in WSE I'd like to go for 2 exchange programmes. So I guess the studies will be some sort of a compromise between travelling, and doing something useful. I wanted to go to Hong Kong and Sao Paulo, but unfortunately going for the second x-change is a bit complicated.
In order to go for second exchange I would have to join CEMS organization. It's some sort of agreement between top management schools, one from each country within western and central Europe. However, an exchange through this programme is Europe only which means I have to pick Sao Paulo or Hong Kong for let's call it bilateral exchange programme and won't be able to go to both places.
So I'm thinking if I should start learning mandarin now, go to Hong Kong in 1 year and pick up some of it there. And once I'll be done with studies in 2 years I'll go to mainland China for a year to finish learning mandarin. Otherwise it's pretty much a waste of time. I would need 7 to 10 years to learn it properly in Poland going to class, and I doubt I will stay in Poland or that I will have patience to grind out 7 years of chinese ( rather the latter ).
It's all plans, however I'm really excited and happy that I have so many opportunities. It will depend on me wheter I will make use of them or not. But the sole existence of them makes me feel good.
Poker
I started playing a bit now. Before I go to LV I wanted to play some cash games so I cleared 200$ everest bonus by playing NL25, NL50 and running bad.
I also deposited 1000$ on PS and I started playing low stakes tournaments, and MTT SNG's. It seemed like I'm bubbling every 180-man but hopefully next weekend it's gonna be better.
I never really played MTT's so I'm adjusting to bigger fields. I try not to spew so much anymore. I will also try to give up on marginal calls/pushes beacuse in deep stack tournaments I am able to pick up chips w/o showdown. I tend to bluff river too often as well, re-raise BTN/CO w/o any particular reads, and I never think of laying down AK. But I adapt quickly and sooner or later I might get some score.

So I decided to take the 5 hour drive down and look for a job. I go on the boardwalk as soon as I get down there and get two job offers in like an hour. One of them was a wrap shop on the boardwalk and the other was working at like SunSations or some shitty store. Well, I'm desperate, so I called the wrap place and asked him if I could get 40 hours a week and preferably work openings to see if I could get a serving job at night down the road. He said it was no problem and that I would start at $8/ hr then after two weeks be at $9/hr. Whatever it was a job.
So, the next day I go in and he tells me I'll be working 2-3 hours so I figured I would be out by 11 or 12. So I called Sunsations and asked her if I could have a trial day and she said yeah come in at 12:30 - 6:30. Sweeeetttt right? The wrap shop isn't fun but whatever it's money so by 12:00 I'm like yo when am I getting off to the manager because the own told me I was only working 2-3 hours. He was like oh that's how Tim is, you'll always end up working longer. Needless to say, I worked until 5pm that night, missing my opportunity at Sunsations. No big deal, this dude promised me 40 hours. He told me to call the next morning about the schedule and when I would be working. So I called, and they still hadn't had the schedule, that night I called no schedule. Next morning, no schedule, that night I called I finally got Tim. He tells me that some kid from last year just came back and he gave him my job. I of course go off on the guy and tell him how much he had fucked me over with the other job, and how he gave me his word that I would have 40 hours a week. He apologizes but I'm so pissed with this whole summer already.
I tried to stay positive saying that job sucked anyway, and the next morning continued to look for jobs up and down the coast. Went into every restaurant I could find and no one would even offer an application because they were so booked. I had one romanian restaurant tell me they needed a runner, but they never called back of course. So yesterday after no calls I decided to try back to NY.
So, I am feeling extremely low and pretty depressed. I feel like I can't really do anything to get a job everything is dried up. I'm so poor that the only thing I eat is Peanut butter and bread. It's terrible. I have $700 in credit card debt to pay off and now 4 weeks to save up to move into an apartment in Portland, ME and also find a job there. Don't really know what to do, and to add insult over injury things with my girlfriend / wife have been rocky of late.
I don't even have a dime to put on poker and basically use it as my 8 hour a day job and see what I can do. Even $20 a day would get me through. So, I'm asking this last time for a $200 stake for 5nl - 10nl. I know I don't have any graphs or PT tracker to prove I'm a winning player because it was all on an old computer. But I'm asking for someone to trust me, I don't lie ever, and I would never run away with someone's money. I'm asking someone to take a chance on me, I never thought I would be this desperate, but unfortunately I'm basically at rock bottom.
Had what is, with great regret, most likely our house's last party night of the summer. First we watched UFC 100 @ our place, then we went to the nightclub The Bank at Bellagio. I had a really good time and unfortunately I was distracted by a cute west african girl for most of the night and didn't get to hang out with frinkx, pooruser, rekrul, fraser, and gumster as much as I would of liked.. but as far as I know everyone had a pretty good time and it was a good end to the summer's festivities.
Not much left to do but chill out and return to.. err.. semi-normal life starting this wednesday. I'm actually the only one not returning to a normal life as I'm going to spend the next 3 weeks in various timeshares (basically nice hotels) and then who knows what.
Munching on some Del Taco.. a delicious end to the night ;D
turning 21 today, i have a fake so ive celebrated friday and tonight. I'm in columbus ohio for the summer on a internship at nationwide so it's pretty nuts.
Pokerwise, after winning 1500, i haven't done shit and i don't give a fuck since i'm making 10k this summer. in related news, good luck to all still in ME and big ups to lisandro, ivey, and t soprano.
