i realized early on that the fish in the table might get all uncomfortable if we started talking in pokerspeak, so i tried to cover it up, and massively failed. i didn't want people who were unaware of pokertracker to know about it, so i tried to make it sound like a joke or whatever, but yeah... i did fail pretty badly. eventually i realized that the regs i was trying to get to shut up might have been better served if they didn't realize i knew what i was doing. by the end of the convo the stupidity in the table got me on severe tilt (on top of drunken tilt) and i was forced to quit all my tables.
i don't think i should play drunk anymore.

you approached it all wrong. don't speak poker with them, just call them names. If you speak poker with them you get into the problem you faced, where people are talking about PT and how to play hands and then the fish realize something is up. You're right to go after the idiot reg for berating a fish, but just do it by attacking the idiot reg. I always say stuff like
"Shut up smartfab, that guy owned you, obviously you suck"
and
"tosmatic don't listen to that idiot, you're doing really well, he's just a tool"
and
"Smartfab you're a total idiotic douchebag and you suck at life"
Basically just defend the fish and make em feel good, and throw random insults at the reg so that he puts his anger on you instead. But don't get into talking about real poker stuff. |
