I've come to the conclusion that I don't have the right personality to play this game in the quantities necessary to make a living. My bankroll is still the majority intact, however, my desire to play and my ability to handle bad beats have both massively declined the more I play. This really slaughters anyones win rate, most sessions I'd get to a point where I was up around 3 buyins. At which point a suckout/setup would occur which is fairly standard and I'd lose a mid/large pot. At which point lately I've proceeded to played like horrendous shit and give away another buyin or two turning what should be about a two buyin win into a very marginal win. Do this for 4-5 days and make probably slightly over 1 buyin, then like any normal poker player you have a day where you lose 2-3 buyins because the cards don't fall your way and instead of still posting a fairly decent win for the week/month I'm now down. This is my largest leak by far and IMO it's 100% mindset.

I'm still playing the same games I crushed when I had a job and played when I felt like it for fun and extra spending cash or grind a BR to stakes high enough to have a lot of fun with or retire early. Now I get crushed, so what's the plan. Well for starters I think because of the limits I play stars is a horrid site to play on. I'm basically forced to mass grind to get a shitty RB then fulltilt so if or when I decide to start playing recreationally again and start regrinding a roll I'll be doing it there until atleast 200nl if I every reach that point. Right now I'm just gonna enjoy like without poker and the stresses that come with it. I have about 40-45k fpps sitting on stars and I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with them. Suggestions are welcome atm I'm thinking maybe PS3 although I don't really play consoles very much. Give me dota lessons for Poker lessons? by flounder44, August 11


i play 200nl and 100nl and can help lowstakes or same stakes discuss optimal strategy at these limits to help anyone that wants it for dota help. I play with a buncha guys everyday and we mostly play pubs but 3 of em are pretty decent and pretty much rape 95% on all gamemodes and i get so much shit for getting wrong items etc etc. Id say im an okay dota player but if i knew exactly what to get for some heroes id rape.

so i started downloading the series cause i really like survivorman, but so far my reaction is that this guy is like a glorified stuntman, its super extreme and hes super hardcore, but if he was actually trying to advocate survival methods, it got lost somewhere

if he played poker, he would say something like "i get my kings in against aces anyway, just because i usually win. i'm awesome, i'm bear grylls"

seeing as he constantly takes ridiculous unwarranted risks that would normally result in life threatening injuries/hypothermia and hes super awesome so he can usually catch food and make fire in almost no time

i guess like, my problem is that i read some reviews on imdb and some of them seem to think that hes actually showing ways to survive, but.. well, he's not.

not to say that it cant be entertaining but i am so tilted by the fact that he tries to pass off his show as actually accurately portraying survival methods and that people believe that, if it was just a show about stunts and EXTREME ENTERTAINMENT i guess i wouldn't care.

i cant help but think of more poker analogies, he would be like "expect to win your flush draws 90% of the time. if you don't, somethings wrong." hes really just spreading gross misinformation if he continues to magically find food, water, fire and shelter INSTANTLY and dodge injury while taking ludicrous risks for seasons 2,3,4 and 5.

and i respect that hes super awesome from the special forces and all but i find that pretty irrelevant to whether or not his show is accurately portraying anything

and i speculate that hes lying about the heights hes jumping from because the camera angles are really sketchy every time so far :O

im really thinking the vast majority of game that he finds and kills is either planted, or he doesnt actually catch it and they replace the dead animal with something from the super market because of lame sauce camera angles too :o

America Fucked Me by AutumnSolace, August 10

Okay, so no problem. There are other ways to transfer money to my account, right?

Well actually, this "problem" has fucked me beyond belief. Pokerstars handled this correctly but when I tried to deposit money into Full Tilt (I'm not broke there, I actually got quite a nice sum of money, just never deposited and wanted to get the deposit bonus) they fucking suspended my account. This has happened at several brokerage websites as well that I tried signing up to, including Scottrade.

So how do I fucking tell Full Tilt Poker they are just misinformed and that my identity is correct... I just am skull fucked from my Credit Card Issuer? They won't allow that bullshit. And now my account is locked and I lost a couple hundred dollars as an 18 year old with no job and about to go to a full time college. For the fucking very least I could have cashed and put it towards my college tuition. Instead I have to come up with several legal documents including a photo identification that I don't have. So before anything happens chances are I'm going to have to get my driver's license just to retrieve money that is rightfully mine.

In the mean time though I want to try and stay playing poker. Despite losing all my fucking money inside that Full Tilt Account. Two days before this happened I've been putting in 8 hours of volume a day and am more serious than ever... and this happens. So now while I work things out will Full Tilt Poker, I need to find a way to get money inside my Pokerstars account.

I am a STTSNG player, but I had tilting problems as I've told many people. I keep changing my game to things I'm inexperienced in. My Sharkscope shows a positive rating from when I deposited my first $10 and turned it into $200 in one week (hit #4th on the Battle of the Planets Leaderboards first week.. hells yeah). Then I lost it all trying to learn HUSNGs. But now it is back to STTSNGs for me.

If anyone can help me in any way it'd be greatly appreciated. I was going to recommend I would pay someone with paypal but I guess there are scams out there so that is possibly out of the question. I have dealt with lachlan before though so he could vouch for me that I send money fast and easy though (When I moved my roll from Pokerstars to Full Tilt). Or if anyone wants to stake me or just help me out in any way I'd be sure to work hard and get shit done. I'm AKA SCC-Faust @ Team Liquid and AutumnSolace @ 2p2. I'm not the best STTSNGer but if someone does stake me and I lose it, I won't hesitate to pay it back via Paypal or check.

Or if anyone has any guidance right now, I'm totally lost and extremely aggravated this has happened. I NEED HELP FUCKING GOD DAMN SCREW YOU US GOVERNMENT.

Bachelor party by pluzich, August 10


Seriously-Germans know how to drink.
It was a friend's bachelor party and we went to Stuttgart. I was foolish enough to drink the day before, a bit whiskey with a russian girl which lives nearby and we hook up from time to time.
So yeah, I had this mild hangover when we got into the train. They had the beer already, and it started.
We drank more beer in the station, then we headed to a vineyard. It was pretty nice, with a lot of grape plants on the hill and this open-air thing where they serve their own wine and meat.
I was hungry, and we took some red wine, and it was sick good. I mean it was so soft I realized-this is it, no way we're leaving this place sober. We drank the red one, then I saw some people having rose(pink?) wine which I love, and so I got some together with red. It was already a lot of beer + wine, I decided to stop for a moment... no such luck, as one of the guys got some white wine. So yeah, I was kind of drunk when we left for THE OTHER VINEYARD.
We had just left when the guys brought some schnapps, and we started to do shots while we were walking to the bus station. We killed the schnapps pretty fast, it was damn good too. In the bus stop there were some old people, and they had a shot with us, and a granny told a toast. Unreal.
So when we got to the second place I was like "wtf I need to eat something", ordered a steak which took them like forever to make (go for the schnitzel if you're in Germany and need something asap). So yeah, I had to drink some more wine while my steak was on the way.
Then we started to dance, and people joined us after some time because I guess we were so drunk that we looked funny. One of the guys got coffee and a lot of criticism

We headed for a club from there, after emptying 1+ bottles of white wine each, and we got some more beer on the way.
Stuttgart is a sick place-I mean it is seriously underrated. We were drunk, not particularly dressed up, went to the first place we saw and it was great. A lot of girls and music, cheap drinks and stuff. So yeah-there we sealed it with more vodka shots and also I took some tequila because I love it while the Germans took beer. Someone gave us aspirin...
We were the last ones to leave the place, at like 3:30, most of the guys had left because they lived/could crush in a nearby small town and they took a cab, and our place is too far for a taxi ride. So it was 2 of us and we stayed up to as much as we could and then went to the central station, where my mate slept on the bench and I didn't. So yeah we got the train and then a tram which stops every single minute so it was a hell of a journey, instead of regular 45 minutes with a normal train it took us 2.5 hours. I took a cab home and my stomach still hurts although its 2 days.
It was 12+ hours drinking, without stopping. With mixed 4-5 wines, we drank beer constantly when on move and had shots of almost anything you can have a shot of. One of the guys broke his foot, and yeah-it was one hell of a drinking marathon.

Ye, I played two ftops events and the sunday mill today. Got really deep in the 500 HU event, ran pretty well and got lucky in drawing opponents. Drew a real fish with 8 players left but unfortunately I couldnt get much going and eventually stacked off when I called a 3-bet with AQs flopped a queen and got checkraised all in on the turn by KK. Idk if I could have played the hand diffrently but maybe I should check back turn alot there as this guy was very obv with his holdings in most situations. Anyways,

I shipped 14,3k for it so its not bad, still feel disapointed somehow but thats so standard and it will have passed tomorrow. Also went deep in the 300 freezeout and busted like 130th something for 1,1k and I also busted a ftp pro for an extra 200 and won some in cash so I can book a 15k day.

Feels good to run hot as ive been doing kinda mehish in cashgames. Been grinding 2/4 on ipoker playing like a complete lagtarded retard, its been alot of fun but I definitely need to tighten up if I wanna make some money in those games.

As for other stuff I am still hunting for an appartment to buy for when I start school, I spent the whole sunday looking at diffrent ones and will be bidding on them sometime during the week.

Owell now its 8 in the morning and I sorta should sleep and stuff. Take care kids
