Failing & running bad by piratematerial, September 18

wanted to do an update even in tougher times nothing to worry about. my shots at 200nl are not going well and at the same time i started them i totally crashed down from my HIGH in 100nl HU. all crappy variance. i mean i don't game select too much at 100nl but i do quit when -3 buyin and mostly im just swimming with the fishes. and getting HIT AND RUN a TON, that always really hurts me, because at the start of a match i think some fishes take advantage because they are either way too agressive, running you over untill you realize that they are way too agressive OR being way too nitty and after a while you realize they are only getting it in with the goods but just as you acquire your reads and are ready to turn on CRUSHMODE... they are -----

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/cb222.200nlHUshot.jpg
i think it's mostly variance. for awhile i was running really good at 200nl 6max but that came back to a more normal level and now i'm only up 1/2 a buyin in the 6max department so it's not really compensating anything.
i played it a little bit because what i don't like about moving up in HU is that you get deepstacked very easily and it's very important that you play fearless and well when it get's a little deeper. That's pretty tough to do though when you are moving up. In 6max you don't get deepstacked as easily so it's a more gradual way of moving up. (on a side-note: OMG there are so many shortstackers!!!! this was definetely not the case last year, and a lot of them aren't so bad it's really annoying!!!)

ofcourse everytime you take a shot your regular game comes to pieces right at that time!

i'm still up for the month like 20 or 30 buyins at 100nl and yesterday i shipped 4th place in a small tourney for $800 so i'm still overrolled for 200nl and recent results don't worry me in the least. hope to have a chance to turn it around in the weekend. but right now i'm going to drink some beers and later tonight i have a nice party so not today. thnx for reading & check out the 200nl video i did a few blogs back.

Peace

To err is human... by DustySwedeDude, September 18

... To win is Dusty.

Unibet Open Prague

So feeling pretty decent right now. Still a bit tired since Pulda can't figure out the reason that someone who's been on a plane all day isn't still at the club at 2 am and therefore called me. Good thing he's so cute, cause if Blizzy had done it I don't know what I'd do...

Saw that like 50ish players survived day 1a and our friend Zografa seems to be one of the chip leaders, pretty nice. Dan Glimne is still in too. Actually thought the world would implode today. Saw him and Dregen, the Swedish pop star or w/e from Backyard Babies talk poker over breakfast.

Had a few drinks on the sky bar yesterday and ran into some people who seemed to know me a bit. Went to bed fairly early and such. I really have a good feeling for this tournament, now I'll have to go wake Pinball up before he rapes Remmember in this sleep.

Success by Xervean, September 18

I have put in a good amount of hands this month. Its went pretty well. I started playing again in late august and I have swiftly moved up from 10nl to 100nl. I have the responsible gaming setting set to cap me at .50/1 so its impossible for me to tilt highstakes. Here is my hem so far.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/9d9bb.septstats.JPG

My stats seem fairly passive. Way more so than I used to be. but the thing is people are so overly aggro and constantly monkey off. Anyways I would like to talk with some people in the 100-200nl range. My aim is aaronice if you are interested.

I love you all.... by MasterofLaw, September 18

Fishes at the local casino. Yesterday I played my 4th session since saturday. Had to quit after 2.5hrs due to a killing headache...eventhough I managed to make a profit of 7.1k SEK (20/20, 10max), which is 350bb+...It is incredible soft and players call for everything possible all in...like gutshots and openended straightdraws...so sick! It is softer than NL2-4 I think, eventhough the limit matches up to EUR NL200, lolz.

One thing that confuses me is that I sometimes don't want to play all-in pf...like yesterday I had AA (after two straight pushes on flop respective turn) and made it 160, one caller than villian raises to 700. I first thought it was a squeeze..but then realised that he also had a monster considered his game-style. So I kindly asked the guy how much he had..he was not inclined to tell but I managed to guess that he had like 6-7k in his stack. I made it 3.1k...he went into the tank and during that time old badbeats started to haunt me...like the last time I went in deep with Aces vs kings and lost 5.5k...Suddenly I was not that eager to play for stack and risk to lose due to variance...I knew I was so much better than the rest of the table and decided somewhat to protect my stack and kill them off bit by bit as I have had earlier during the session..so I started to talk about showing one card (eventhough you're not allowed), looked strong put him on time and so...he folded. Today I regret that losing decision but I got a baaaaad stomach feeling which I not really can explain...But I won a couple more small pots then went home...

Now I have a big problem...have a decent amount of hard cash at home...but I have left my reciepts behind at the casino...may be a problem to deposit them into the bank, mainly by two reasons...1. The bank finds it suspicious 2. The Tax Authority will hunt me down because I cannot prove where the money comes from...

Update: Problem solved..thanks to my hot 30ish personal banker =)
Over and out
/MoL

Red->Wasn't sure if you had left for UK yesterday, but now I know you're there. Hope you having a great time.

Review Period Before moving up by Zalfor, September 18

The biggest change to my game has been the red line. I'm definitely hoping to keep running well and owning up the tables. Overall, I'm satisfied with most of my game, I'm getting in good thin value bets and I think my major leak is not folding to river raises, with them always spiking a set on a river c/r. But overall, I've been playing well running well. My BR is now at 3k. I am ready to face the future.

[EDIT] Also, no cashing out until i hit nl200. I don't need to cash out, I have plenty of money from cashing out my FTP Roll (5k)

Exhausting day by Venrae, September 18

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/7e0e0.918.JPG

not much else to say. The -115 session I was being a bit over-aggro I think (squeezing with 78s, 2barrell shoving, etc) and it was going well for a while but I don't think this style works at nl25 because shit hit the fan pretty quick. I just hate watching my redline die because I know there are spots where I can pick up pots. IDK if I'm just hitting a patch of variance or if I really do need a severely negative redline to crush nl25.

triple barrel bluff by Zalfor, September 17

played another 2k hands today and am up 1.5 BI. Not too good compared to my other results, i was actually up 4.5 BI earlier, but dropped 3 Due to beats and bad call downs. Overall, my game is deteriorating, so I am taking a break. Got the 200 bonus from Pstars and now my BR is at 2.8k up from 400 3 days ago.

So far so good, I'm going to take a poker break for today and maybe tommorow and get back onto poker starting next week hopefully.

No graph since I'm not at my computer right now, but use ur imagination.

few hands...lots of line checks by jasper5408, September 17

FirsT: Shout out to this thread + Show Spoiler +

he's worked so hard and he's just trying to live the dream

fuck lady gaga thread but check out ethics thread

anyway just wanted to ask a few questions about a few hands

Hand 1 + Show Spoiler +

a) due to chip stacks it's about a pot shove. this is ok vs short stack no?
b) if he was regular chip stack wat do we 3 bet in order to make draws pay? bet > 22 no? i think flatting flop and then leading turn is kinda dumb =.= but obviously i want to keep in plenty of dominated hands. i think rr to ~ 22+ is correct no?

Hand 2 + Show Spoiler +

a) like? dislike? i think 90% of the time neither of us have a very strong hand since we check the flop. i think c/c turn makes it "obvious" i have a draw, and c/r river is saying nuts. villain can bet turn with plenty of hands draws included, and therefore i don't really like my c/rai shove here.

Hand 3 + Show Spoiler +

a) really hate my bet sizing. pot flop/turn and even bet rivER? or is river bet too thin? lots of straight and flush draws and i'm not too sure how often villains call with KT K9 K8 in a multiway pot (and if they have Ks for the tp+draw we're prolly all in on turn)
b) if i get c/r on flop this is easy fold? i can't really see ppl having sets in this spot but combo draws and KJ aren't pretty hands to see all in. getting it on good turn is + ev and getting it in on flop is ~0 ev?

Hand 4 + Show Spoiler +

a) standard? am i lucky to be ahead? my reasoning was i have 2 overcards/gutshot against most pairs. his c/r all in seemed like it was pretty draws/nuts. i guess how often does he do this with bluff and how often does villain do this with trip j's?

Hand 5 + Show Spoiler +

a REAL FUUUUUUUUUUUUU moment. villain is super passive, and saw him not v-bet top 2 pair in a previous pot. THAT being said i still have a SUPER hard time believing he doesn't raise TT pf. i dunno he could be that passive and scared of getting out played with medium pp. i guess 33/22 makes more sense but i'm still having a shit ton of trouble believing he has those hands. A2, T2, 32 something retarded seems believable i guess. him not vbetting top 2 pair previous hand really fucked with my mind.

didn't want to raise flop because i didn't want to get blown off a hand with such great equity. i pretty much wanted to hit on turn and get it in against retardedly played set. i think when i raise turn everyone's hand gets turned face up. sets get it in, most garbage probably folds, draws call(not really many draws on this board either). so i don't think betting bigger on turn really helps because i expect most hands to get it in/fold (how correct is this statemenT?)

Hand 6 + Show Spoiler +

easy ship especially after i played it like a fagget? i actually don't believe he ever has AK(ships it pre) or even does this on this board with AK(prob goes for a more traditional raise.

first 2/4 shot by palak, September 17

Went pretty well, doesn't seem to be a giant difference from 1/2 yet, and most of the ppl i saw playing 2/4 i saw playing 1/2.
Quatrofour4 thinks i'm a fish, playing 3 handed vs him and some other guy he moved around so that he would have position on me instead of the other person.

Most People Aren't ... by TremendousGats, September 17

Most people aren't mentally strong enough to be professional poker players. When you run bad or get coolered 10 times in a row, dont look for pity or sympathy that will just feed your weak mental state. When you can turn your emotions off, you will reach the next level in your game.

Easier said then done

Wow. by superfashion, September 17

After making 40 dollars and being well on my way to breaking even, I have hit the worst 24 hours of my short career.

Getting destroyed by 6s when I have aces, watching someone river a straight with pocket threes against my cowboys, seeing someone catch quad deuces against my full house.

It's just one of those things like you're both all in and he nails his pathetic hand on the river and you just kinda shake your head and say "you've got to be shitting me."
