I had the $50 deposit bonus and I finally made it to 425 points, but now the thing in the Bonus Status screen is gone...how do I redeem my points for that bonus?
When you spend like 1 hours to win only 1 buyin and then lose all of it in 1 hand, you say to yourself "ok no problem, shit happens" but when you spend like 4 hours and still getting this shit, and don't move up, you can't help but wondering if you're playing it right... And then you lose the confidence...
You know the graph goes like this http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/452/sanstitreyhq.jpg
Argh.
Hello. I am excited about getting back into poker. Recently, I've been running good in life. My future education plans have solidified. A close friend from college has come back into town to room with me. He is set on starting his career in poker. All in all, conditions are perfect right now for me to get back into the game. I'll be playing microstakes to work on my fundamentals and slowly get my head into the game. I'm looking forward to getting some great advice from people here.
grinding the quarter for nowby kyodaix, October 19
I used to play 50nl and 100nl and just cashed out most my roll recently. I'm going to try and rebuild at 25nl again FR and it seems that the 50bb tables are not that fish/retard infested as it used to be early this year, but obviously I could be wrong and just played at a bad time. Anyway I'll be posting graphs soon enough and going to be grinding a lot more hands than usual since I've taken a long break now and I feel quite refreshed to be back playing poker again.
My road to high stakesby DustySwedeDude, October 19
If your gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough When you get knocked down you gotta get back up, I ain't the sharpest knife in the drawer but I know enough, to know, If your gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough
I'm sure that if I just hit my head against that god damned wall enough times it'll break. My head is good that way. It's like a less cool and slightly uglier version of Rocky Balboa's.
One year from now I'll read this post again and be all like; "REDNECK PRIDE!"
Except I kinda like black people. So only the funny parts. Not the parts about dressing up in white sheets and burning stuff.
Confidence & motivation regained?by flounder44, October 19
During Mid august i went on a massive heater and got up to 4k from 100nl. I took a 200nl shot at 4.8k and got up to 7.2k peak to late august. Then the doomswitch happened.... i went from 7.2k all the way down to 5k in 48 hrs(11 buyins or so)... I was geting owned hard by good regs/reg fishes/ whales and shortstacks. Got it in plenty of times with overpair vs toppair and it never held once.
Early september i cashed out like 1.5kish cuz i was going on midlife crisis and hating fulltilt... just seeing 2 cards together made my stomach sick. So i refused to play another hand until i felt like it again which was about a period of 30days or so. In the meantime i focused on school/classical guitar/dota/SF4/drinking on a regular basis to get my mind off poker. I seriously considered quitting and cashing the rest out (4kish after cashing out 1.5k). The only poker i playd was when my rich friend offered to stake me for sunday million cuz hes a huge degen... that was a pretty good waste of 215$.
Bouncing back:
Then the other day i was at my friends house(i go there almost every day) and i was bored since he wasnt there yet, so i booted up 3 tables of 200nl 6max. (Before my short hiatus I was 6-8 tabling 200nl lol.) This time it was different tho... from 15vpip i was playing 30vpip and putting people on tilt/making bad calls/folds etc. I was about even at friends comp.
Then i got home pretty early that night yesterday (12am) and din't feel like sleeping.
So like a true degen at 12am i boot up an HU table vs any reg and play cards(normally i played 2-3 hu tables). He made a lot of out of line bets where I would bet flop, then 20 on 27 turn and he'd always reraise me some weirdass amt. And i actually had the goods a few times and he got caught out of line... then he got really lucky when he went allin on QK4cc Tc turn when he had Ac9h on 3b pot and i had AJo and he rivers Jd for split. This was the last hand before he jet. + Show Spoiler +

Around 3pm today i wake up to watch some football and at 8pm i continue to grind 4x 200nl 6m tables and here is end result for sunday.
I dont know if this means ill be playing a lot again but theres a good chance after today I think the month break let me focus a lot on whats important in my life (school, friends, music, videogames, and alcohol). Hope to see you degens at table soon!
btw if anyone wants to chat about anything hit me up on aim!
I wanted to make an epic post but turns out my results for the weekend have been mostly average as far as money won/lost vs hands played at nl400 :D
I can definitely tell the regs are getting quite good/aggressive now and I'm outclassed by a number of them at the moment, especially when I'm not on my A game. Still, I think I am profitable at this limit so long as I table select v well and make sure not to get overly 'comfortable' (aka lazy) like I often do after I've been winning at a limit for any period of time haha.
I figure my shot will continue until I no longer feel like I have an edge at the limit.
My redline is not pleasing to me but I think I can fix it. That last dip is lol, $600 of it happened today while I was definitely playing bad and feeling like I was getting ran over.
The over all month's results are:
13k hands (lol..) and +4.1k before RB.
Which is like my biggest online month ever if it holds.. I'm 100% cool with whatever the month brings as long as I finish up 1500+ w/ rakeback included. Of course my goals are more ambitious than this though
Really like WTF @ my volume but I've been trying to play only while I'm feeling atleast 85% awesome or more. I've played about 44 hours this month and not a small portion of it while 3 tabling lollllllllllllllllll
If I last at nl400 for 20k hands w/o having to drop down I will be super impressed with myself and v happy, and probably immediately start taking shots at 3/6 because I am tired of jerking off at microstakes u know?
How do you help a guy out?by SmokingDough, October 18
My room mate and I are both playing poker as our job while going to school. I know a lot of you other LPers live with poker players or have at one point. Right now my room mate is ona pretty sick downswing and I think its starting to get to him a little bit.
Im just curious as to what some of you guys have done to help out youre downswinging friend? It might be best to just let him be which is what Ive been doing but man hes been going on some pretty sick tilt lately and I wanna help the guy out lol.
