Snowboarding by Xanthos, December 15

Is heavily +EV. I feel so high right now,
And I think its going to be a long long time...

Poker is alright too. I am started to get more motivated to play as my death run is coming to just a shitty run but still not running good. Very close to 200k vpp bonus though so after that I take a week break, and starting from 2010 I will play around 150k hands/month if I run good.

Updated graph, since November 1st:

Return of the King by Zalfor, December 15

Well, I'm not exactly the King, but I took a long break from poker to get some life +EV.

It really hasn't happened, but hopefully the staking/coaching deal goes well. I am planning to play a lot after I finish finals (1 week) and grind it up. I feel like I've been reading a lot into poker theory recently and my interest and concentration skills have increased.

Time for the grind! (Still need to earn another 10BI at nl25 tho...)

Progress by lewy313, December 15

In 2 months I want to leave my parents home. I receive scholarship in my college + I need 300-400$ from poker every month .

Lately I've made a shot at 100nl but it went badly. I lost 4 buyins on coolers so I moved down to nl50 euro and lost  few buyins there as well. I want learn how to play my A game on 6 tables instead of 4 tables at 25 nl and then move up continously.I still run like shit but I work on my non showdown winnings

LOL FTP vs Stars by phexac, December 15

Thanks to the Alias function in PT3 and HEM, I don't often get to see my FTP and PS graphs separately. This is probably a good thing since graph comparison like this tilts the fuck out of me. This is mostly NL200 over the same time period. And the thing is FTP is SO MUCH SOFTER!!!!

Ok, for your viewing pleasure:

AND

WTF!!!

EDIT: I now know how nanonoko does it. He doesn't play FTP!!!

[H] Hotkeys by pluzich, December 15

I'm looking for a hotkey manager for PS; Tableninja makes everything lag so much even when I have like 2 tables open.

Does anyone know alternatives?

Why you suck at poker by LemOn[5thF], December 15

- I don't take it seriously
- I am attached to the monetary value
- I don't understand the mathematical concepts well enough (e.g. ask me for equation for evaluating profitability of a check raise on the turn, I can't answer)
- I am results oriented
- I don't play enough hours
- I am lazy to take notes, think about every spot and I hardly ever play my A game (i.e. where I pay 100 attention to everything that happens at the tables and try to adjust)

Add yours people, anyone who doesn't reply is either a douche bag or Phil Ivey (and even he has his flaws he openly admits)

Nov Results.. a little late by rossro, December 15

Well I just got back from Cancun a couple of days ago (back to -30 degrees celsius ... ya!!), and am just now getting around to posting my novemeber results. Fortunately I got to come home and get absolutely smoked by some fish my first day back (see below), just adding to a downswing that is now over 2k in the last 5k hands. On a good note I am still feeling confindent in my game and managing to stay in fairly good spirits as I try to grind through this one.

Session from hell:

Forgot my mouse by k2o4, December 14

I flew to DC yesterday to begin my annual Xmas tour where I fly around the USA to visit family. I woke up late so in my rush to pack my laptop I left my mouse on the mouse pad... fuck.

I realized it last night after arriving and unpacking my laptop and wanting to grind. I was gonna go out and buy a new one but it was too late at night and everything was closed. My girl realized we'd forgotten some other crucial things that we'll need over the next 16 days of travel so I wrote home to my dad who's fedexing the mouse and so on to arrive tomorrow morning.

But that didn't help me today. Today I had nothing to do (which was planned so I could have time to relax and grind if I felt like it) and man, I felt like grinding all day long. I'd spent the entire plane ride doing math in my head to figure out how many hands I need to play every month to make X amount of profit and got really excited cause for some reason I'd never done it before... and now that I have it's become a huge motivation to play more hands. Lately I've been having 20k hand months and that's just not cutting it. I've been harping on about long term long term long term and gotten myself to stop focusing on session results so much that I don't check for often a week or more. But despite all of that I never realized that I shouldn't only be focusing on making sure that whenever I play I play my A game, but also to make sure that I play a lot. The most I ever do is set a very vague hand goal for the month and then I procrastinate playing and then the month comes close to ending and I realize there's no way I'll hit my goal and decide not to force it on myself cause I know I'll just start playing shitty since I'm looking at 4 days of 18 hr sessions.

So I figured out how many hands I need to play a month and then how many a week and then kinda planned out a weekly schedule. Not the arbitrary "I need to play X amount of hands a week so divide X by 7 and that's how many a day" cause I know I won't play everyday. So I've assigned a # of hands for each day that I will play and as I've broken it down it's not intimidating at all. It's just 2 sessions a day during my playing days. And now I have a huge motivation to follow through and play that # of hands each day, cause I know that it will add up to the profit I figured out between winnings and rakeback. It's given me more structure and a way to approach poker as more of a "job" which gives me a better feeling about how I spend my time =) Like I'm being more productive.

I've got all of that in my head and I'm just itching to play cause I want to get in my # of hands cause I'm behind for the month right now due to losing a day for traveling and a day with no mouse. Tomorrow is gonna be a bit tough too cause we've got some museums to visit, but once I get my mouse I will be back in action.

And to preempt any "use the touchpad" comments, I have to say that I hate touchpads. They tilt me. And I'm not gonna sit down to grind in a situation where I'm already tilted. Plus my touchpad overall sucks - the buttons crap out a lot and I can just imagine the tilt that will come cause of a misclick fold in a key spot due to a crappy touchpad. I'd rather avoid it. I guess I'm like one of those annoying superstitious sports players who has to wear his lucky jock strap or something. Before I play I like to set my environment up properly, and a HUGE part of that is my mouse. Maybe it comes from playing BW for so long and learning how to move a mouse quickly and accurately. I notice that when I'm using someone elses computer it's annoying cause the mouse doesn't feel right, or the settings are very slow, etc. So when I grind the last thing I need is mouse problems.

God this is a rambling blog if ever I wrote one. I guess that's what blogs are for.

On another topic I saw "men who stare at goats" tonight and it was pretty damn funny, weird, and entertaining. Planning to see Avatar this weekend. I've avoided most previews so I don't know much about it which always makes movies better for me.

I hope the mouse comes tomorrow so I can get my grind on. Gotta get those hands in!

100nl 6max owns me. by Syntax, December 14

FWIW:

Ownage. :/ Anyway, i'm doing pretty good in all other games, which are; mostly 50nl 6max, 50nl fr (dont really play anymore) and 100/50nl hu and a tiny bit 100nl fr.
Photobucket

Is 100nl 6max really that much tougher?

hmmmm back to the grind soon. I've been really into poker lately. I've played 55 hours/40k hands this month thus far. Pretty good start in terms of volume for me. I just got to keep playing/learning as much as i can and hope to find a rhythm.

Xmas Break Propbet by sooon2b, December 14

Looking to do a small prop with someone over winter break. For me this time period is tomorrow, Dec 15th-Jan 19th. That's like 36 days, and figure we wont be playing much on Xmas or New Years. Wanna try to maybe do like 60k hands by Jan 19th. Was thinking maybe something like $250, bit of an incentive for me to play. Dunno how the proposed prop would work tbh. Maybe i'll just take action against me playing 60k hands? Suggestions?

I think the most i've ever played in a month was maybe 30k, and that was when I was a "full time" poker player 3 years ago. Since I don't think i've logged a month over 20k. I comfortably 4 table currently, but can play up to 8 fairly poorly imo :-. Ill be playing 50NL & 100NL 6M, might dabble in some 200NL if I am playing/running well.

My SN is readmyline on Full Tilt, where I will be playing most of the hands. I may xfer some money to stars once January rolls around for Supernova purposes.

So ya, what do you guys think?

$$Coach Me$$ Big Proposition Here. by KingSpades, December 14

Well Hello LP'ers, my name is Brian and i am looking for a coach! I am by nature a grinder.. i have no problem sitting in front of my screen for 10-12 hours sessions without stopping. I recently squared up some of my bills and i have 400$ left to build a bankroll on. I have 24 tabled NL10 and NL25 as about a .35bb/100 profit. I want to increase this drastically and grind my way to supernova, then supernova elite. I have no problem putting in a few million hands this year, and i have the time to do it. So i figured i would do it right, and get a dedicated and reliable coach to help me on my quest. Unfortunately i can't pay you upfront, or pay per session. So i have an alternative plan that i feel may be benefitial in the long term.

I plan on giving you 10% of my earnings, over a 6 month, or possibly a 1 year period.
This is just a rough number, and i am open to negotiation. I am very dedicated, and i am going to give a full 110% effort from now until December 31st, 2010. I may be aiming high, but i believe with a good coach, and a shitload of hands played with the bonuses that accompany them, I can meet my goal of 150k over the next 12 months. If this sounds like something that could interest you, please shoot me a pm, and we will discuss it further. Take me on as your prodigy and i wont let you down.

Gaurantees:
10% of my Profits over a 6 Month Period, or Year. To be paid on a monthly basis.
I have holdem manager, and you will have complete access too all my stats/graphs/hand histories.
I will play atleast 70k Hands Per Week
I will always be available for coaching, sweat sessions, theory/instruction sessions, hand history reviews.
I am very dedicated and eager to learn, and i will follow any instructions given.
I have a whole 6-12 months of free time, and money saved up to live, so i wont ever have to withdraw, i am purely building my bankroll.
I have a mic, as well as ventrilo/teamspeak/skype.
I am open to all suggestions/demands, and i will accompany any conditions you may have.

6 Month Goals:
Supernova
Atleast 2 Million Hands Played
Solid Reg Playing 100NL 24 Tables
Atleast 50k Profit

1 Year Goals:
Supernova Elite
Atleast 5 Million Hands Played
Solid Reg Playing 100-200NL 24 Tables (possibly +16 Full Tilt)
150k Profit including Milestones/FPP Bonuses
