| | Getting back into the game by TizmoUK, January 11
Well as seems to be the trend with me, I haven't blogged in around 7 months. This s mostly due to the lack of hands I've managed to put in within this time.
Well since my last blog have managed to grind my roll up to $400... very very slow progress. However at least i am starting to feel more confident about my game especially since Mayzerg is coaching me.
Plan on playing a lot more, hopefully study will not get in the way
Will try to blog more often...

| | Who are those guys ? by RaiZ, January 11
kawelljd and mssoftware for example ? They've been spewing like crazy, met both of them on nl5... oO
When you check the ptr it says they already lost like 12k... My only guess would be either they're some rich ppl that played wayyy to high on their limit or they just won a big donkament and wanted to taste the upper levels...

| | Keepin On by BiNK, January 10
I am gonna keep this blog going so I can also get in that bloggers freeroll tourney... updates on this little win 100 buyins at NL2 before moving up "challenge" of mine are as follows...at around 14k hands in, made about 44 buy ins, 4-5 days in (i forget) and just still grinding. My last 2k hands were the roughest so far meaning just stupid all in pots vs idiots resulting in a suckout or bad call by me with TPTK vs a flopped set or something. Anyways...I go back to college soon, I go to Franklin and Marshall College out in Pennsylvania and I can't wait. It is not easy living with my parents and I could really use a break from working at the bs supermarket I work at. That is all for now gonna log some more hands.
Good luck,
Donald

| | wow i never realized by moonk379, January 10
how much better rakeback is for cash than for sngs. i used to only get like maybe 13 dollars a day in rakeback for playing like 40+ sng games but now playing 5 hours or 2800 hands per day, i get around 50 dollars according to this one rakeback calculator i googled. such a huge difference. but to be on safe side, is that the right amount per day? this rakeback calculator says playing 25NL 6 max with daily hands of 2800 is 50 dollars, 353 weekly and 1512 monthly. can someone verify this? thanks

| | Tired couldn't sleep by Mariuslol, January 10
So looked through a boywonder thread. Here's some words of wisdom.
I have been recieving a few PMs from people who are in fact winning players, but have trouble logging hands. Often, I believe, the big issue is a fear of loss more than anything. I mean, if our hourly was given to us variance free at the end of each day, I am sure most of us would be in front of our computers sunrise to dawn every day up until early retirement. Thankfully, poker does not work like this.
I believe that the fear of the (future) loss, is often much more daunting than the actual loss itself. I think that feeling a certain amount of anxiety about losing can have a greater effect on you than the actual loss. Humans have a much bigger fear of fear, or fear of the future, than they have anxieties over the present moment.
Once you have lost and you are done, you should become fully conscious of your emotions and surroundings, and realize that if you are in a position to be reading this thread, you are still better off than 95 % of this planets population. Next time, when your dysfunctional and negative thought patterns eventually emerge (like they always do), remember that moment of clarity when you did indeed lose, and it wasn´t the end of the world.
""emotional control will destroy talent any day""
