Sorry for two blog entries in the same day, but I had a good NL100 session (this being my 5th shot at NL100 so I'm pretty happy that I'm finally doing well, at least so far) and I needed to put up the world blogger logo anyway. I ran really hot, managed to stack 4 players in 3 pots, all at the same table, in less than 10 hands (I don't think I even played the hands too optimally). Ended up sitting at the table with 5BI :-). I know this is nothing extraordinary, but it made me feel good. Finished the session with a solid 4BI.

i feel stars giving out shitty vpp rates for micro/lowstakes fr players are having a negative effect on the games lately. i have played a lot of tables wehre people are just so super super tight thus giving vpps shit value. i used to get .20 per hand 50nl and around .10 at 25nl, now its like .12 for 50 and .08 for 25nl which is ridiculous. benefits will only be felt after a fucking year of playing this shit lol. i hope i can find another site to play at but all this shadiness in online sites is kinda risky.
that or switch to 6max or god forbid....PLOL haha
check out this jap 60's horror classic, great horror flic even now

I'm just a lowly silverstar right now playing NL25 putting in less than 20k hands per month, but I'm going to try and start putting in a lot more volume and never play out of my BR or in games that games that I'm not good at (sngs lol). I'm going to try and work on areas of my game that are def weak, which include bluffing, barreling, image awareness, getting thinner value, squeezing, bluff catching more, and tilting. Also staying focused and being aware of what is happening in hands, since I usually just afk autopilot through hands like i'm macroing in starcraft or something, often forgetting who the PFR was, if the pot is multiway, or if there is a shortstack in the hand or something.
Lately I have just been playing very mechanically and just putting in the minimum effort needed to eek out a mediocre winrate by just eating up fish and playing a very vanilla game vs regulars (3 betting light in obv spots, cbetting in good boards, raising cbets in obv spots), never really getting out of line or ever pushing the envelope. I often take lines that are safe and easy to play, even when I know I am sacrificing EV. For example; a reg opens UTG, and I'm in the UTG+1 with AA, instead of flatting I just 3 bet, knowing that it's so obvious I have KK+ here since I am ridic unbalanced in spots like this, but not caring because it is ridiculously easy to play AA in a 3 bet pot and I don't feel like dealing with sets and crap. I barely even use my HUD anymore since I'm just following a simple strategy I've made myself that produces winning, although weak results. I did the same thing when I played SC, just blindly used a conservative BO for every MU with zero adaptation or innovation, but who needs strategy when you have over 200 apm and way better mechanics than others at your level. I'll never get past the C ranks playing like this, but w/e I can beat most of my friends and win 90% of obs games on US east, so I really have no drive to get better than this. I mean, I'm playing 16 tables while I type this, probably unknowingly playing HU on a few of them and missing tons of +EV spots, but who gives a fuck, I'm up 3 BI because people throw money at you at microstakes like people throw games at you at the D rank on iccup.
Hopefully making myself achieve supernova at NL25 and below will help me develop a decent work ethic so I can start making decent progress. Money is a good motivator, but I think MORE money + fun is an even better one
last 4-5 days ive been averaging about 50 bux with rakeback but mainly its becuz i was trying to incorporate 3b light and 4b light to my play. at first it was a bit shaky but i think i got the hang of it and know what particular spots to use those betting as well as squeezing. but ne wayz heres the graph.
anyways a hand question. is this a bad spot to 4b bluff? this guy is 20/17 and 3b/11 over 438 hands and hes been 3b me a lot on this table so i thought of tightening up or trying 4b bluffs, trying to figure out when to use it ^^. my stats are 26/15 so is this bad or is it ok to do? and is my betting size right for 4b bluff?

So after going on a 15 BI downswing at NL50, 6 of which were due to edzwoo convincing me to give heads-up a try, I decided to switch over from full ring to six max. The main reason for this switch is because I am playing far too loose in FR (19/16) without the proper postflop play to back up my preflop tendencies. However, my preflop game seems pretty at home in 6m games after having given it a try. So far it's been looking good, and if I keep this up, I will probably switch over permanently. I also moved back to PokerStars to unlock their New Year's reload bonus, which I managed to do today, putting my roll over 2400. Hopefully, I will be taking my fifth shot at NL100 soon.

Have been playing really poorly recently, down around 1.6k this week, most if it largely unnecessary. I really need to stop playing poker under sub-optimal conditions - often I'm hungry, not totally focused or mentally sharp and small mistakes with a few beats lead to tilt and it just spirals out of control.
Just finished my last semester exam on Operations Research, so will definitely be buckling down and grinding the tables during Chinese New Year break. Bought new lights and an air purifier for the apartment so the stage is set for a fresh start.
That's it for now, will post graphs and everything at the end of the month. GL to all.
Ninja edit: Almost forgot - as customary to all of my blog entries, here's a link to directly watch the 08 Olympics Badminton Gold Medal match: Lin Dan vs Lee Chong Wei (the #1 and 2 in the world)
