My redline is FINALLY improving. I've made some adjustments on my game this weak and they worked GREAT! I feel like I really learning! Let me show you some graphs:

don't have any stats but villain seems to be pretty competent, 3betting my button raises and folding to 4bets, 3betting my flop reraises on dry boards. he had bet me off best hand (2s) once before with a flush draw and i figured he had air just by the way he was betting. is this a good way to go busto or is it ok? nl10 is definitely a much better game than nl5...nl5 is so painful and nl10 i actually feel like i'm playing somewhat intellectual opponents.

quick advices by hiems, February 09

Alright. 3 hour class. Freaking hate it.

Only reason I am here is because Im kinda into this girl in my class. I think she is into me as well, but not sure tbh.

Anyway I brought a laptop cause I know she brings one...(since its so boring). I was thinking I just message her a fun, online flash type of game to build some rapport. (something like online pictionary, you know what I mean?) A link would help~

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Time is ticking.

Identity Stolen -_-; by Svenman87, February 09

Kinda gay - anyone know wtf I even start to do?
I started getting calls from a debt collecting agency and was like wtf, checked my credit score and it's pure shit now - use to be pretty good considering how young I am, but it looked like whomever it was ran me up to about 8k in debt.

Really weird, I've never heard of anyone knowing anyone that had there Identity stolen, and considering how meticulous I am about shredding shit and destroying anything with sensitive information I'm kinda dumbfounded.

NHL in Europe by nolan, February 09

http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=4900309

Any Euro's wanna go to these games? I'm considering going on holiday to catch one. Pretty partial toward the matchups in Sweden and Czech Republic.

The Carolina Hurricanes and Minnesota Wild will be headed for Finland, where they will play two regular-season games Oct. 7-8 in Helsinki.

The Columbus Blue Jackets and San Jose Sharks will begin their seasons with two games Oct. 8-9 in Stockholm, Sweden.

The Boston Bruins and Phoenix Coyotes will be based in Prague, Czech Republic, for two games Oct. 9-10.

$$ on UB, sitting collecting dust. by MadJukes, February 09

If you play on UB/ABS, let me know if you can help me out with a $130 transfer to FT or Stars. It's just sitting there collecting dust at the moment and it would be great if I could get my micro bankroll onto 1 site.

Thanks--

Let's talk about PLO10 and Q's about training aids by SmithMan, February 09

I’m kind of proud the way i’ve been playing recently so I thought I would post up some of my hands from a recent PLO10 session with my comments on how I played it and open it up for debate. I'm a relative Noob to PLO and have only been playing the game for around 3 months, but it's quickly become my most profitable poker variation.

Hand Notes

2010-02-08: Now I’m interested to see what people think of my play here? or is it standard play and just bad play by villain?

So i’m interested too see what people think. All feedback is welcome.

Now in follow up to the talk about PLO, I'd also like to ask the community about the training aids they use such as, instructional websites, books they read and tracking software? what are your preferences? If you guys could give me some recommendations I would appreciate it. I've used most of the tracking softwares but struggle with choosing the best one.

Til next time, Peace HK x

1k by Rhaegar99, February 09

Well, my bankroll finally broke 1k and I'm still playing NL10 (lol). I was running well on the first few days on this month, and broke even for 3 days. I eventually found out that I was playing extra tight during those days. Fixed up my play and scored a 6BI session. I've been playing random MTTs lately (probably distracted my cash games). Realised that I don't have the time and patience to play a normal, so I've only been played $1 and $2 turbo MTTs. Its fairly easy to get ITM, even though I'm really terrible. I think I'm up around 60$ or something.

Well heres febs graph. All NL10

$10 to the best answer! by tutz_x, February 09

I would like to ask you a little help with a particular hand I played.
the link to the thread is
http://www.liquidpoker.net/poker-forum/853998/last/good_bluff_deep_.html

I reasoned my logic and what made me do that play. people are saying its bad but I don't see whats wrong with it... and since I REALLY would like to hear some good poker theory about it I will ship $10 to the best answer. I think people tend to criticize this plays mostly because its NL25 and they think this is a stupid and fancy shit to do at this limit. Looking foward to hear the answers!

ANSWERS HERE PLEASE!

A New Beginning by MalkasGambit, February 08

I thought it would be appropriate to begin my blog with a background of who I am and why I am here, which I think are very interrelated. I don't expect many people to ever read this, or to even frequent my blog, but I enjoy writing and am in a mood where I feel like practicing.

My name is David, I'm 22, I currently live in California though over the past 3 years I have resided in more than 4 different countries and vigorously traveled, worked, and engaged in all sorts of activities in 26 others all through the Middle East, Europe and Southeast Asia. I instructed at a scuba diving school in Sharm-El-Sheikh Egypt and Eilat Israel, backpacked through almost every country in Europe, taught English in Shanghai China, played professional poker in Taiwan/Macau, and am now living with my good friend and business partner in San Diego. I've met some of the most interesting people on the planet and I've experienced things most people in the world will never experience in their lives. And what I find so fascinating after all is said and done, is how even the smallest of events can trigger a never-ending chain of eye opening experiences that ultimately forge who you are, what you believe in, and where your interests lie.

I guess what I'm referring to are the small influences I had in my childhood that eventually led me to seek a purpose in life greater than just the standard high school > college > 9-5 > marry > kids, which in reality is extremely unfulfilling and moreover depressing, since 99.9% of the worlds populace is trapped in that lifestyle and unconscious of what little effort it takes to break out of our shells and embrace life. As Mark Twain once masterfully noted, "Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect". It is because of these and a series of similar epiphanies over the past few years that has led me to the decision that I want to use poker to propel several business ventures that are all centered around self-help and the gradual improvement of mankind. And hence an interest in blogging on Liquidpoker.

I think I'd like to use this blog mostly to track my poker career; goals, hands, graphs, dealing with variance (specifically since my decision to exclusively study PLO), etc. And then of course the occasional OOT post since I have so many other things going on in my life and I have nowhere else to post my musings. At least at the moment I don't. Very soon we will be launching our own website, beginning with health & fitness (and of course poker) to help create traffic and eventually growing into a huge multi-level corporation dealing with so many different avenues in life it's impossible to catalogue right now. But it's fucking exciting and I can't wait to start.

So here's to a much belated Happy New Years and all that is to come

P.S. Stumbled upon this Tiger Woods quote I thought I would share. It was in response to an interviewer asking him if he ever considers just pressing the snooze button and sleeping in:

"I honestly have no understanding of how people do press the snooze button, because every waking hour provides new opportunities to improve yourself. The greatest thing about tomorrow is, I will be better than I am today. And that’s how I look at my life. I will be better as a golfer, I will be better as a person, I will be better as a father, I will be a better husband, I will be better as a friend. That’s the beauty of tomorrow. There is no such thing as a setback. The lessons I learn today I will apply tomorrow, and I will be better.” I believe the point of life, the reason for living, is to always improve, to always get better and ultimately to grow and evolve as a human being."
