Rakebackpro... by DustySwedeDude, March 29

So I'm breakeven in cash games and donkaments this month, which is fairly annoying but whatever. Shit happens and I haven't played well. Fairly sure I qualified for Unibet Open Bulgaria though so that's nice and I guess I'll end the month up a little bit due to rakeback.

http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/1945/faggraph.jpg

Figured out a bunch of leaks to, mostly having to do with being a spewtard in different ways and I also feel that I'm very unbalanced in a bunch of situations.

Got starcraft 2 beta key from gogoogroggagarog or whatever his name is so I guess I'll try that for the rest of the month, then I'll watch a bunch of movies or something and get a fresh start in April. Won't even put up a monetary goal but rather just aim to get better and spend a lot of time figuring stuff out rather then 10tabling stuff like a retard.

Also this is why I love Texas:

Day 2 of challenge by fira, March 29

Last time I made a blog but removed it. I was basically saying how I derived a new style while I was blazed and decided to do a challenge using what I derived. The challenge was to win 20 bi in a week, so that's 20 * 600 = 12k. Day 1 (yesterday) was just awesome, but today was a nightmare. All hands are 600nl 6max (a couple hundred HU).

Day 1

Day 2

Might be done for the day, we'll see.

3/28/10, The Day Every Flush Hits by Endo, March 29

This blog is going to be collection of my thoughts, fun stuff, and life. I'll try to keep it away from actual "aww I runbad" whines unless I have one of those days where I drop 30 BI under EV...

Anyways, yesterday was an epic day for flushes. Chance of hitting on FT = 100% (for villain only)

Hand 1: SUITED CONNECTORS FTW..sorta
+ Show Spoiler +

Hand 2: I'm stacking KQ, I promise!
+ Show Spoiler +

Hand 3: Go ahead, leave yourself no implied odds.
+ Show Spoiler +

Anyways, after busting my roll at NL50 HU (ran 13 BI under EV) and starting again completely broke, I took the $29 I had from rakeback and started again at microstakes, this time completely staying within bankroll management. The only exception I made was starting at NL5 on Rush.

Aside from a brief stint playing $3.8 45man SuperTurbos, (man those things are like crack) I'm almost rolled for NL25! Actually I should be rolled for NL25 except I drained like $150 playing those superturbos lol. I've never seen more suckouts before. Any underdog would seem to win (me included!)

So ya. Looking forward to NL25 in a few days.

Oh yea and a few days ago I ordered a big box of Vita Coco. It's like this coconut water/milk, really healthy and tastes fucking amazing.

BUSTO by Sicks Macks, March 28

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/5ed6e.Busto LOL.JPG

No not really busto. I mean who ever is when they put that in their blog title? But my account balance is nothing but some leftover points and some $26 tokens I haven't used yet, $0.00 in real money. I've talked about quitting poker before, but ultimately I didn't need to "quit", I just kind of stopped playing as frequently, and then not at all. This weekend I realized I hadn't played online in 2 months, and I have plenty of uses for the 6k I still had sitting there.

I still like the game, it's just no longer my obsession. Unfortunately for my bottom line, Modern Warfare 2 is my new obsession (no money in that), but ever since I got that game poker has just been a way to make money. As for the money part, my real life job is going so well I don't need poker money to be able to live well. Add my social life to that, and there's just really not a lot of room for poker.

I hope to still be a part of the community, though I'm probably not going to comment on as many hands as I used to, and maybe if I get bored (or unemployed) I'll put some money back online at some point. Obviously poker will still be my go-to game live, and I've been mulling over playing some WSOP events (as a tourist). The good news for those of you who still choose to read my blog is I'll hopefully start replacing pictures of runbad graphs with pictures of yours truly out on the town. Unless you guys want mw2 content. In which case this could be a MW2 only blog. Don't tempt me.

blackjack by sawseech, March 28

i just loaded up 21 tables on stars specifically to see if everything that i thought i saw would be exactly wrong.

it was.

i had to be sure. i have a bit of a cold, and i am confident that heavy multitabling is responsible for my gradual loss of form over the past few weeks. at the present moment i am fundamentally incapable of handling rapid sucessive decisions without also losing control of my handle on myself.

it's not the hours. it's the continual processing of information combined with the need to check myself again and again as i play specifically because my instincts in cash are not excellent. it's only when i am calm and have mostly stepped outside of myself and proceed to observe the happenings that i perform well in this format. that and the fact that there's nothing that i won't do tactically. that's where the control comes in. at the present moment i continually fail to step outside myself and i also lack control over myself, leading to tunnel vision and frequent missteps.

because my play is so volatile, an hour of suck at 2SD can basically be a days worth of wins through controlled violence as i run only slightly bad.

Cannot Bring Myself to Keep Grinding by RJ227, March 28

I have been running hotter than god every time I sit down. It's not as though I don't feel like I'm playing well, I'm just winning every 60/40 (and some 40/60s ldo) imaginable. I find myself prepared to grind but I just decide to insta-quit when I win 10 buyins in 20 minutes. Anyone ever find themselves in a similar situation? If so, what was the remedy?

Best way to build roll? by Chewits, March 28

What is the best way in this present state of Poker, now in April 2010, to build a bankroll fast, to be able to be a MTT grinder, playing all the main online events?

Here is the deal. As of right now I got got $300 on Pokerstars currently, with some other money on other sites and I want to play all the major MTTs. I have had progress in my MTT play and want to take it to the next level by actually winning some.

I want to know the best way. I really do not think I have patience to grind out NL10 or NL25. Perhaps I should? What about SNGs? I find multi tabling decreases my play dramatically, so I do not want to play anymore than 4-6 tables at once.

I have ideas myself, but what do you feel is the best? What about even other websites/clients? What about HU/HU sng?

Just what do you feel is the best way in the poker climate we live in today?

March! by mikeymoo, March 28

The back end of March shat on me really badly so I'm posting this now and not playing for the rest of March.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/f902b4c1af3cb57d76f1b31ac4687d7f.png

Was going for a 10k month but hey, I'll take it! Not gonna be playing much for April because of school, so here are my goals:
- Pass finals
- Finish all homework and assignments
- Barely play poker, just get the Take 2 promo on FTP.

PS -> FTP by Mikae, March 27

So i was on PS and i was very comfortable in my game in 25nl, actually taking shots at 50nl. Then my friend suggested i switch to ftp. I did, and i've started grinding 25nl there.

AND...im getting totally crushed. Partly because i'm running cold but i feel that FTP plays a bit harder in that its player base float more, 3bet more and bluff by just clicking the pot button. I figured PS to be more passive because of SNE grinder etc and FTP more active because they watch CR and the whole FTP aggressive players campaign.

Not that i'm losing confidence because i'm drastically overrolled and i'm totally dominating 25nl but do
you micro stake grinders feel this?

alcohol sucks balls by Night2o1, March 27

alcohol sucks fat ballsac if you drink more than a reasonable amount

smoke weed imo.

fuck booze outside of moderation

not drinking more than 6 in a night ever again. well, I'll make a serious, serious effort at least.

Tonight I had a lot of fun, but I also felt an unreasonable amount of jealousy, unusual levels of sadness, spent outside of my budget, weird relationships with new people, etc. Cuz of alcohol. fuck that. I'm going to do my best to never have more than 6 drinks in a night again.

I also made this weird and incoherent blog post because of excess drinking. GG.

oh btw I met Byrnesam and Silver Z tonight. They're good, a little bit different than I anticipated but they were cool dudes and I'm sure I will be hanging out with them quite a bit.

Oh yeah, I also ordered this stuff online called Kava. Its supposed to help with anxiety, but it sounds like it isn't appropriate to play poker while you are under its effects (its psychoactive), so I most likely won't (I've never played a hand of real poker while drunk, for instance). But that's fine, I like to try new things. I'll let you know if I think Kava is an herb worth trying out
