LOL sleep reset didn't work at allby Night2o1, April 09
For the past 9 days or so my sleep schedule has been completely ass backwards, waking up at 5-8pm and going to bed at 6-10am. It hasn't been so bad, I've been feeling fine during my waking hours 'n such, it is just inconvenient since I haven't been able to see silver)z( and byrnesam during waking hours, or my other friends in thailand. So I end up just playing videogames all the time that I'm not playing poker..
Anyway, I decided to try to fix it by slowly moving my bed time later and waking up later, eventually I woke up at 11pm and was like fuck it I'll stay up 'til the next night's midnight or 1am. I did that, went to bed at 1.30AM andddddddd woke up at 7PM.
God damn it.
If I go back to the states on this schedule I will be on perfectly synchronization to be awake during the day though!

POKER
I sure have progressed far in a month since I wrote my last blog. I said last time that I was going back to fullring and giving up on PLO for good. I stuck to the giving up PLO part and am pretty excited that I did! I started playing NL100 after my last blog and made like 30BIs in less then 10k hands. Then started game selecting at NL200 FR and did really well and was able to start doing the same for 400/600. Once I hit 5/10 again though I had to go back to mixing in mainly 6max tables because those games are so much better then the 5/10 FR games that run on Stars. The main thing I was doing different was actually playing less tables. I have been trying to play mainly 6-8 tables at a time and my results have been tremendous at each level so far doing this, defintly plan on sticking to this for awhile.
Here is my 5/10 graph so far, as you can see at the beginning when I was just playing FR I was about breakeven. Then I switched back to the game I am best at 6m and started crushing.
I actually haven't ran that well in terms of EV but I'm still up so pretty happy. Im down like 6BIs at 10/20 from some ridic run bad and up some at 25/50, especially after this hand from today.

I had played about like 35-50 hands so far, opened a bunch of pots pre and 3bet a few times. This is probably the first flop at the table though. I pretty much thought if in the one hand that goes to a flop and he makes a set/straight then fuck it that is my luck and called after 1 second. I will probably just continue to play 600/1k 6max mainly and mix in some higher games if I get a good seat/game, well see how it all goes. Almost out of the negative on PTR finally to, very happy about that.
Personal Life
I took a trip up to LA last weekend with petteytheft to go to a Laker game on Easter and to visit the Hollywood Mansion that gomukyaself, fantasticow, jmoney10587, sethsethseth, and UCIpitcher are living at. We stayed there on Saturday and hung out with them and I got to sweat gomuk playing a session of high stakes games, defintly was a great learning experience for me and made dealing with all the LA traffic worth it. On sunday me, pettey, gomuk and ariolis30 went to the Lakers vs Spurs game! Thanks to Ariolis30 and his 4.6 million PTR hands for getting us the tickets. I've talked to Ariolis a bunch online and he is just nothing like you would imagine an NL100 SNE who has top 5 most hands played on Stars to be. Had a pretty fun time and it was cool to see LA for the first time in my life, even though most of it was pretty ghetto. Here are a few pics
I took care of everything last week in regards to my new roommate moving in and he should be here on May 1st. Hopefully we get along and get to have some fun out here in the San Diego summer. My workouts have been going really well the past month and I am seeing some real improvements to my appearance/stregnth! I finally learned how to cook chicken on the stove lol so I have been eating that for my meals rather then Macdondalds/Burger Kang which is what I am accustomed to eating these days. I also have my first meeting with a personal trainer I met next week which I am excited about. I don't think I really need one but it can't be a bad thing.
As far as the dating scene for me goes right now, I actually met someone I think I might like. She is really good looking, awesome bod, has good career, lives close but..................................she has 2 kids depending on how you look at it. Im still not to sure how I feel about it but they are actually pretty fun to hang out with and play video games against, even though they crush me at them. Her kids are 9 and 6 and she is younger then me...... lol
Don't really have much else to say right now, going to Padres opening day next week and plan on going to a bunch of there games since the stadium is close.
I'm going to continue to 15 table the $6.6 6max sngs for the remainder of the month. Hopefully after expenses I will have a big enough bankroll to 15 table the $13 6max sngs and party a bit more.
edit: oh and i recently had the best sex ever with a hot professional motor show dancer :D + she likes to swallow so i'm def down to booty call her now and again.
Episode 1 of season two up on pokertube. Both Jeans from 2+2 (jeans89 or something on prima among other nicks?) and LostLucky (also highish stakes player on prima) along with a couple of more familiar names such as Eric Liu, that tall Norwegian from HSP, recent nutcase Andy black and Leo Margret also plays.
50/100€ blinds so that's fun. Havn't watched it all yet but I'm sure it'll be fun enough.
I have spent the last 2 days drunk which has delayed the super-saving-to-move-to-new-house-grind a bit. Today was weird; it felt like nothing was really working out and I assumed until my little run at the end that I had been breakeven, so seeing the graph was a nice surprise. There's always that red line when the blue one won't obey! I'm above my target minimum rate of 4ptbb/100 so all is gravy so far...
edit: also, I got caught on a 200bb bluff and I managed not to tilt. It helped that the guy immediately thought I was a mentalist and hunted me on all my tables and started paying me off hardcore. Got about 150bb back off him super thin value betting pretty quick, so it was only about 50bb of annoyance in my mind!
I'm GoTuNk and i've played bw for last 8-10 years; I started playing poker seriously last december.
I'm starting this blog cause there's one thing I need, and it's called discipline.
I want to achieve 3 things this year:
-Aprove all courses at my business university
-Become a reg in nl200 at least, by december.
-Stop eating crap so I can finally cut bodybat from 16.5% to 10-12% (I weight 75kg) and achieve strength goals such as body weight snatch, front lever pull ups (currently working on em) and new future performance goals.
So whenever I do something really positive or negative (tilt, good laydown, eat junk food, hold front lever position) in regards of my goals i'm posting em here.
Some pics now since u bothered to read up to here:
Results are nice imo.
slow but steady profits and a game that u can robot once u figured out your push/calling ranges.
pretty sure i beat them 18man 6.50 SNGs now after i played 175 of them.
ofc the sample size is still small but its just too obvious which mistakes my opponents do all the time
will probably grind them out for the rest of the month
before i move up
lots of guys advice to not play the 18mans but stick to 45mans ?
are the 45ones really so much more profitable ?
I cashed out a bit from FTP and decided to re-deposit some of it this morning. I transferred the money onto my credit card and make the deposit on the site. FTP declines it for some reason so I go check to make sure I put it on my CC and the money is gone.
WTF they declined by transaction but took my money? Anyone else had experience with this? Bahhhh waiting for support bawwwww post

Swimmin' in online riches makes me tilt
I live in Scotland but I don't even own a kilt...
So I decided to cash out,
And to celebrate...engage in a shopping bash out.
Less cash online should make me cautious -
from recent tilt and spewing I started to feel nauseous.
My bankroll now is a mere two thousand pounds,
Hopefully this will make my win rate upwardly bounce.
Now its time to leave to do my daily chore,
hopefully you will enjoy picture of this sexy Asian whore!
(gamboooool) at some nl100 rush tonight and after all was said and done, i was down a buy in. not too bad after like 4k hands today (mix of nl50 and nl100) and running KK into AA TWICE during the shot. i prolly would be up for the day if not for a few hands i punted. there was two ultra fucking stupid hands. one where i put in a river raise with 2nd nut flush pretty stupidly against the nuts and another where i called a huge flop overbet with AQ and ran into AK. i dunno, they sound like coolers but they just fucking werent as far as im concerned. i think im gonna drop back down to nl25 for a while instead of playing nl50 semi short rolled.
[Article] The Information Warby PanoRaMa, April 08
Another article that I've written for the May edition of Baller Magazine. You can find previous articles (this is now my 4th) in previous pages of my blog if you want. Keep in mind this is directed mostly at newer, live players, but I suppose has some application no matter who you are. Thanks to Etter from TL for proofreading and making my articles a lot better than they were originally .
==================================
Poker is often called a game of hidden information. Imagine how easy it would be to win if you knew what is largely unknown to most of us – our opponent’s hand, or the cards to come. Outside of cheating, there’s no way for us to preemptively figure out exactly which cards will fall on the flop, turn, and river, but there are legitimate ways to figure out what cards your opponent is holding – to varying extents of accuracy, anyway. In a nutshell, that’s the premise of hand reading. We can safely say a large aspect of poker is the struggle to ascertain what your opponent is holding, to make hidden information known information. This struggle is part of the underlying Information War that is waged every second of every hand at every poker tables around the world. The first step to winning the Information War is to actually know you’re in it. The second step is to acquire as much information as possible without leaking your own.
Poker is a cutthroat game, and your money is at stake. Assuming your goal is to win, you cannot afford to give away information. It’s a simple rule with deep complexities. Are you the type of player who likes to show your mucked hand to your neighbor? You’re leaking information. Do you like showing one card when you rake in a pot that didn’t go to showdown? You’re leaking. Ever talk about a poker hand or story with a buddy at a table when opponents could be listening? You’re leaking. If you were a secret agent, you’d be killed for that sort of conduct. Thankfully, the stakes in poker are not life-threatening, but repeated leaks of information just might kill your bankroll.
You can also leak information involuntarily through your own physical tells. That is a subject for another article, however, so we’ll be focusing on deliberate actions. One common leak is exposing any of your hole cards unnecessarily. If you’re folding a hand, your opponent cannot see your mucked cards. That should be the end of it. If you show him what you’re mucking, you only allow him to capitalize on that bit of information in the future. Now your opponent is ahead in the Information War and risked nothing to gain that advantage. The worst application of this is when someone calls the river and shows a losing hand at showdown when he wasn’t required to do so. People often do this to engender sympathy; they typically show a “cooler” hand, such as when their pocket aces lose to an unlikely two pair. This sort of conduct garners, at best, ten seconds of sympathy from those waiting to take your money. At worst, you’ve just made everyone aware of your potential inability to fold aces, along with any sort of physical tell you gave away in the process of losing (e.g. you were noticeably slower to act pre-flop).
With so many factors working against us in the Information War, we can take solace in the fact that our opponents are working under similar conditions. The best way to capitalize on leaks is to become observant enough to notice and digest useful bits of information. My favorite method involves listening to someone talk about a previous hand to a random player at the table. First of all, it might be a good story, but more importantly, he is likely to divulge a lot of information. Let’s see what we can extrapolate from this quote, taken five minutes after sitting down at a $5/$10 table:
“So I was playing my normal $1/$2 game when I caught pocket Queens pre-flop on the button. I raised it up, and instead of calling, this aggressive kid in the big blind re-raised me! I felt like taking a bit of a gamble and re-raised him back. He went all-in, I called, and guess what he showed? ACE KING! This punk was overplaying Ace King! Anyway, like usual, the river paired his Ace, and I lost a $200 pot. It was so infuriating that I had to go back to my hotel room.”
Stories like these reveal a lot. From the first sentence, we know that he is playing much higher than his usual stake. Maybe he just won a tournament and decided to play higher, making it likely for him to be a bit more careless with his money. Moving on, he found it surprising that someone would re-raise him pre-flop. Perhaps he usually plays at significantly tighter, more passive games. Next, he was baffled at the fact that his opponent would show Ace King. Because the pot was $200 at the end, we can infer that this hand was a rather shallow stack pre-flop battle. In situations like this, Ace King tends to be a reasonable hand with which to go all-in. Because of this, we can infer that he likely doesn’t know that effective stack sizes should affect your pre-flop hand selection and strategies. Likely he just plays whatever he feels like at the moment. Additionally, he thought his opponent was overplaying AK by getting it all-in, which means our friend here might have a very tight all-in pre-flop range overall (QQ or better only). Lastly, he was infuriated over losing a pre-flop coin flip scenario in which he lost 50 big blinds, which was enough to make him take a break. We can infer that this player lacks experience in controlling tilt and most likely doesn’t understand basic pre-flop all-in equities. Sometimes your assumptions will be wrong, which is why it pays to be continually observant and factor future information into your first impression of a player.
Get in the habit of being a keen observer, and take good mental notes when you’re playing at the table. You are only depriving yourself of information, which subsequently impacts your bottom line, if you are not paying attention and collecting on tells or reads – any sort of leaked information left on the table. Most people make very broad generalizations about their opponents and stereotype them accordingly. One of the most useful approaches is to make a mental note every time another player takes an unexpected line or shows up with a holding that you were not expecting. We all have our benchmarks for what we think is “good” poker (usually the style of poker we play ourselves). If I see someone do something that is not in my arsenal – for example, check/raising all three streets in No Limit Hold’Em – I’ll definitely want to see and take note of that player’s holding. If that hand occurred when you weren’t in the pot, even better; now you’ll have that extra bit of information if that player ever pulls the same line on you, and you came by that information risk-free.
I’m not encouraging you to be a soulless robot at the felt. Sometimes I just can’t help but want to listen to my favorite song on my iPod and shut everything else out. Normally, though, you should engage in friendly conversation and give people the basic respect that everyone deserves. Just make sure you’re not revealing anything about your poker game in the process. Let common sense prevail. Saying, “I’m from Hawaii, and I love the weather there” while on the felt is fine. Saying, “I’m 25, I’ve been playing professionally for the past four years, I’m Phil Ivey’s student, and they call me ‘Tourist Eater’ at this casino” is only going to put you at an immediate disadvantage in the Information War.
