I'm going to test out coaching to make me feel more productive. There was a day a while ago when I cleaned my house and did some other chores and it made me feel productive and it in turn made me more confident in my poker game.
I'm not new to coaching but the only people I have coached for long periods of times are friends. I will start out with exceptionally cheap and inexpensive rates and depending on demand and how I like it, adjust those rates. I also may want to do something where I take a couple people who have been break-even 100 or 200NL players for a long time and start coaching them for a % of their gain. Since they will have been break-even players for a while, they will not be able to deny that their jump in hourly is a direct result of me fixing up their game. This will align both of our incentives IE what's good for student is good for me and visa versa.
If anyone is interested, PM me ur Skype and I will add you. There will be no rush though and I will take things at my own pace. I will provide references and information about myself as necessary but I will only take on a couple students at first and I assume most of you know who I am.
I can provide graphs which extensively show that I solidly beat up to:
1kNLHU
1kNL6m
50nlFR (i don't play FR at mid stakes and my PTR has me as a small winner at 100nl because I 24 table it sometimes to get a break from high stakes when I'm on life tilt)
HU sitngos up to 50$ sitngos
single table FR sitngos up to 25$ sitngos
I can provide references and other such stuff but I'm trying to keep most things on a need to know basis. I do a lot of the time start from scratch when I've been losing for too long. I made a bet like 3 years ago with floofy that I could turn 1000 play chips into 6K (using rake back FPPs I made during that time) and easily beat it. I had a big downswing something like 14 months ago where I cashed out my roll and started from 50$
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/9b12d6d98ce913db213b0c2510ced2d5.jpg
I remember I slacked off a bit too and wasn't averaging 14 hours a day even during that stint. People routinely tell me I waste so much time by doing this but it's also this caution that redisciplines me and has been the reason I have never had a shortage of money or scare that I will have to go find a real job in many years.
Also my 6m mid stakes graph on PTR is not that impressive and for a long while I barely played any 6m because I always thought I sucked at it. I looked at my holdem manager results (PS barely played means 125k hands over 2 years or w/e)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/40bb8aac896495e6fb58c034eb465460.jpg
and I realized that I don't really suck at 6m. Since then I've played some 1knl 6m on the side just a table or two now and then and have been doing very well over a considerable sample size.
Anyway, I'm a little hesitant to release my specific stats or what my screen names are across all sites but if I decide to coach someone, I will provide ample information if they play high enough that I respect their concerns. As it is, right now, I'm actually looking maybe for more lower stakes people to coach, 1/2 to 50nl say.
Write down any questions you may have and I'll get respond to them tomorrow if I can't tonight as I am in London and it's about time to head out.

| | My FTP <> Your Stars by Sanai, July 02
Hey guys,
Looking to move about $350-400 from FTP to Stars. I have reputable members who can vouch for me and I'm always willing to work out a trading arrangement that would be suitable for both parties. Thanks.

| | 40k hands in 21 hours by longple, July 02
bleh, im done.
ive grinded out the last milestone on stars, cashed out my roll and im moving on (finally) from stars.
its patethic really, ive played over 600k hands and im only up like 2k$, + 14900$ in bonuses from FPPs/milestones. over my 4 month grindperiod on stars.
but ive broken my personal record in hands in 1 day + the longest session so far in my carrear.
21 hours, 39k hands, 24 tables of 6max play and i managed to run breakeven, ship!
i decided yesterday to just hardcore play 24 tables of 1/2 and 2/4 to get the last milestone + FPP bonus ASAP and then leave, so i did.
results:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/da14463f8f721760787fce8e9d1b68d9.jpg
i can only say im very happy overall breaking even 24 tabling 2/4 the last 8 hours straight, allthough it kinda sux that i dropped so much in the last hours.
but i got my bonus, and i got a good rollboost today from stars dear VIP rewardsystem.
im now off yet again to the EU sites for more serious gaming.
i just cant seem to keep my hands off 24 tabling when i play on stars, with tableninja its just so easy. but i dont win, ive ran alot under EV this year on stars, but w/e i made 17k$ on stars so its not all bad i guess.
hopefully i will win more on the eusites, was some time since my last visit on them, will split my roll over 2 or 3 sites, i already got a roll on 1 site and will deposit my stars roll onto another one, but i would like to get some money on svenskaspel (swedish site) aswell.
i will also treat myself with a solid 5k$ cashout to buy a HTC wildfire phone and a laptop, that will be nice, will also take a break for a couple of days, im soooo tired right now, and my bed is waiting
gl to all of you starsgrinders, probably i wont be missed since i pretty much was an empty seat when i masstabled stars =)

| | My Dilemma by JSquids, July 01
i currently play on FTP with no rakeback. i emailed them and there is no chance of me getting it at all... should i play on cake for the RB? should i go back to stars since they have those steller rewards and bonuses u can buy with FPP? is rake back even that important to me that i should worry? im a 4-6 tabler at 25nl / 50nl. think its still worth hassling?
im having trouble deciding.

| | Seoul Casino by offsuit, July 01
Hey everyone, I'm going to the Walker Hill Casino in Seoul at the end of this month, on the weekend of the 30th, and I heard there's a good run of tournaments and cash games that weekend. Is anyone going or has anyone gone to Walker Hill? Are the players there any good? I hear there's a guy who finished 29th in the WSOP main event and another guy who's made a ton of money and is considered to be the best Korean player in Korea (apparently he owns the poker room in the casino and wrote the first Korean poker book). It will be my first real live tournament [edit] by "real" I mean medium-stake--obviously not my first real tournament, but most of those are for $50 and under [/edit] (buyin is like $250~ USD?), but I think I can take it down. The competition in the town I live in isn't really strong and I've been crushing them pretty much every week since I got here 3-4 times a week. Is the competition much better in Seoul? How well do the good players there understand the game in comparison to an average pro?
Thanks for the info!

| | mustwatch tv series Leverage by Perisie, July 01
someone somewhere recommended the tv series Leverage and i just watched the first season.
it is a comedy action series about 5 top class thieves who band together to do major heists (1 per episode).
it is similar to Firefly, Oceans Eleven and Stargate SG1 and revolves around the team working with their individual skills (impersonator, computer wizz, action hero, mastermind) to pull off scams and heists.
it is first and foremost "fun" (lighthearted comedy).
you can watch it on alluc/tvlinks/ninjavideo (tuduo/yukuo/megavid). Again this series is called LEVERAGE and you should go watch the first s1 episode NOW!!
check my previous blog entry for a list of "hidden gem" movies to watch

| | June Results (12k) by PanoRaMa, July 01
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a162/sirasoni/june10graph.png
A pretty successful month I just wish I could put in more hands... honestly it's my biggest fault right now by far and I fucking hate myself for it. What's the use of studying poker and playing well when I can't maximize that edge by putting in volume?
Also I think I'm going to stop blogging monthly results. I mean it's nice to post a brag month or whatever, but I think overall it'd better suit me if I kept exactly how much I've been winning confidential. It's nice to get support from people/my friends on here whether it be a good or a bad month, but those people will support me regardless of me actually posting a blog so it's whatever. I used to keep a month blog to kind of recap the month for my future self to look back on (since I rarely ever make a "what I am going through/thinking now" type blog anymore), but I can just do that offline on MS Word or something.
Regardless, it IS mid-year, so as a mid-year update I'm well on pace for 6 figures this year which makes me happy... it would easily be a lot more if I were a normal human being capable of putting in work though.
I have 2 WSOP events coming up, the 2500 event tomorrow and the Main Event. GL to me and everyone else playing unless you're on my table (no mercy imo!)

| | Brag by barbieman, July 01
Working on my game + run good = best month so far.
Played a mix of NL100 and NL150, mostly €-, but some £- and $-tables too. Made about €2450 with rb, played about 18k hands, play time; little less than 50h.
I also spent about 13h messing around playing some HU, SNG's, PLO, PLO8, mixed games and made another $300 with rakeback.
I'm very, very happy with my result, I think I have to play about twice as much if I want repeat this result with my true winrate (excluding rb).
But at the same time, I'm disappointed in myself, I should've spent 80h+ playing NL cash games, but I didn't even play 50h.
One session really stood out and was so fucking sweet, happened yesterday. I was running pretty shitty, like 3 barrel bluffed a guy for 200bb,
it was very unlikely that he'd call unless he had one of two combination. He had one of them (fd + isd) inside got there. Made some bad plays,
blah-blah-blah. Anyway, about 50min into the session I'm down about 4 BI. I encounter a fish playing over-aggro (45/37/4) making bad bluffs and bad calls,
after a couple orbits he stacks my mpgk with tpbk after raising flop and getting it in over three streets. I guess it was a bluff..? Time to quit..
But first I searched for him, he was sitting on SIX!! SIX TABLES!! So I get on the waiting list for all tables and tell myself I'm not quitting until he does.
I get in on all tables and start to rape him, a little over 3h later he quits. I've taken 5 BI's from him and I've gone from -€520 to +€250. TY!
when the fuck does something like this happen?? Big spewer playing 6 tables and does so for 3h+.
As for July, I'm aiming for 50h, which will be pretty good considering the circumstances. I'll probably spend one week in Barcelona since I'll live for free.
A friend together with some other people are occupying a building with 15+ rooms in central BRC, they've lived there for 5 years, 5 more years and
the building is theirs. It also looks like I'll be moving from my hometown Örebro to Linköping at the end of the month. I have several friends already living and
studying there, so it will be really sweet.

| | Start ! by dypher, July 01
Hi liquidpeople,
Since this is the first post for my blog I'll introduce myself.
im 28 "wannabe player" from Slovakia.
I got married last summer.
I started play poker in summer 2007, i registered in our country local forum.
I was lucky and won partypoker quarterly freeroll (aprox 550usd.) and made a cashout 300usd from it.
Then i tried to play CG 6max NL5- NL25 , went busto and i thought its over.
After 2-3months i started to study more from all kind of free pokersources, deposit 50, bought PT2 and grind microlimits. At the end of 2008 after some cashouts my bankroll reached 2500k for comfortable play at NL50.
Nowadays i want to start playin nl400 6amx regularly, but i think i still have leaks at these stakes. Sometimes im trying bumhunt nL600 and nl1k but most of the time im furstrated and moneyscared there , especialy at nl1k ,
Last month i had a solid DownSwing -9k, but i think didnt play that bad.
In july i want to try another nl400 shot and then i ll see.
the main reason i want to start my blog here on lp : i really appreciate to discuss hands where i make mistakes with players who play same stakes.
thats enough for now ...

Sticking to a steady diet of 100PLO 50bb and 100NL 50bb games. These games are super profitable and even tho the swings can suck its worth it. Good month for me since i didnt play much, this is an even mix of the 2 games mentioned above. And goddamn do i earn a shit ton of VPP's at 100PLO.

My main goal for July is to inch myself closer to taking shots at NL50 by just playing solid poker and keeping my tilt control in check.

| | What a daaay. by Carreira, June 30
Gonna be a brag post and probably long enough to say tl:dr.
...
Sooo, today i decided to play some live poker. I went to a big casino here in lima to play a massive donkament. They had this 1 table satelite structure that looked real nice. (full of donkeys, top3 wins buyin+double rebuy, top4 gets buyin only).
Satelite 1: I decided that playing basic ICM (adjusted to the fast blinds structure, the starting chipstack, etc.) was enough to own all the donkeys and it went pretty well until we had 5 guys left.
Blinds 400/800 i have around 2.5k, 4th in chips. I get A8s in BTN everyone folds. Easy shove i thought.. BB thinks for a second and says "I am the chip leader so i can call this".
Villain calls with J9o (he had around 6k b4 calling). Flop comes QT8r.
i loled and decided to play a 2nd satelite.
Satelite 2: Again i play ICM and get to 5 left, close situation to the one of satelite 1, same blinds. I get AA on BTN with around 4k. This time the same donkey is on SB and instacalls my shove (UTG limped), shows KK.
Flop comes KK4 and i get pwned again.
Just when i stood up from my chair i recieved a phone call from my roommate saying that he is playing live NL100 on a poker room nearby. Since cash tables are my game i decided to recover my 2 lost buyins there.
I arrived at the poker room 25 minutes later. Nice place, cool people and food-drinks for free. I sat down with 100bbs and start playing a FR table.
5 minutes later a really good TAG sits down to my left and buys 100bbs, since we are friends from back when i was a live grinder we start talking and having fun.
around 20 minutes later im sitting with 150bbs and he has around 120bbs. A fish on MP with 100bbs raises to 4.5bbs and i flat on BTN with TT, TAG calls on SB.
Flop comes QT7ss, TAG bets 3/4 of pot and the fish calls. I dont wanna risk it so i shove. TAG looks at me for a little while, laughs, shows me KQo and folds. Fish instacalls.
"Im such a good player" he shouts, shows QQ.
"Hey nice hand, it happens" I replied. got owned and get 50bbs back.
Next hand i get JJ on CO. Didnt got time to rebuy back to 100bbs. Samefish raises 4.5BBs, i just call.
Flop comes: K73dd
Fish checks, i bet around 3/4 of pot and he instashoves me shouting "oh come on your so tilted and that diamond is not coming".
Indeed i was tilt, but still something told me he didnt had that K. "I call" announced and he showed 88.
"Im such a good player" i shouted with the stupidest voice i could make (obviously making fun of him).
Turn card 8, river card 2. He smacks the table and starts shouting about how good he is.
I just turned to my left and said to the TAG "Wow this IS my day", he laughs and i rebuy for 100bbs.
Couple of hands later i get JTo on CO, 5 guys limp and i limp, TAG says "lets have some fun" and limps, BB checks.
Flop comes Q98hh, TAG bets 3/4 of pot, the same fish from before raises, another fish on MP2 calls the raise.
"Ok, this is my chance and i CANT be that unlucky". I think for a little while and shove. Samefish instacalls my shove and the second fish starts thinking for a while.. all of the sudden he shouts "lets fucking gamble" and throws all his chips to the middle of the table.
Samefish shows: 98o
Secondfish shows: K2hh
Turn 9, river T and i get stacked, AGAIN.
Now, the purpose of all this bullshit is to ask you guys this question. Would you keep playing based on the fact that you actually CANT run worse?. Or will you make a standard stoploss and leave the place with a smile?.
