So, I'm renting a car with a friend. It's, say, $500 each for insurance. He doesn't wanna spend that much on it, but I don't wanna go around without insurance. But if we crash or something, we're obviosuly gonna split the cost. So I came up with this: I pay him the $500 that would be my half of the insurance to HIM, and we get no insurance, and if something happens, it's all on him.
Am I out of line, am I an asshole, is this fair enough, what do you think?
EDIT: so he doesn't want to get the insurance because he can't really afford it (tho he will get the money somehow if some crash happens), it's not like he simply doesn't want to pay it. Does it change your opinion?
Made my first 100k when i was 18.
1mil in poker before I turned 21.
And now.. To speed up the process of taking over the world, I made an aggressive investment.
1000 Entry to Mega Million jackpot of $330 Million.
January 4th 2011 will be the day Song's world domination will start. Anyone who wish me luck will be invited to the most unreal epic party mega millionaire has ever hosted. I will then use the remainder of the party funds to torment people who gave negative energy to my lotto drawing.
Laugh now brothas. Tomorrow will be the day u all will be diseased of jealousy.
Can't complain about 2010. The following is in play-money:
Cash: 39000 incl. rakeback (290k hands played)
Only really worked hard 3 months of the year and earned what I deserved. Will outline my goals in the bottom section but definitely going to increase volume. Perhaps I can grow up and be like Wobbly...
No graph as I lost my database a few times.
Tourney: 21500
Had a lot of really close but not there. These are really frustrating (especially for my personality) but I have to force myself to play them. Missed them for a few weeks but will get back on the horse soon.
Played a negligible amount of live cash - was able to breakeven on travel expenses so that is a victory.
So we have 6 stacks of high society. My goal was 100k, but that was simply a random number thrown out probably on an upswing. Going to be more specific this year.
Goals (wealth, health, relationships)
Wealth (Poker):
I think throwing out a monetary goal can be helpful for some but isn't for me. Instead, this:
- Participate in tourney grind 4 times a month (barring obvious circumstances)
- Play close to as much as I did in Oct./Nov. (my two biggest months because I had the biggest volume)
- Play at least 2 large live tournaments this year (should be fun)
If I religiously follow the above two, I am sure I will have no problems achieving results to brag about.
Health:
Still the heaviest I have ever been in my life weighing in at 82kg. I haven't done the tourney grind because I am not confident I can maintain peak mental ability for 10-11 hours. The biggest change I can make is in diet. Perhaps the best thing I can do is find a badminton sparring partner who I can play with multiple times a week. Or actually try P90X.
- get back to 70kg
- please get into some consistent exercise regime with friends (see relationships)
- I feel reluctant to write about controlling what I eat, as these are supposedly the years to "pig out", but: have slightly better control with eating choices. If that only means drinking 10 less milkshakes this year, well, meh.
Relationships:
You become the people you spend time with. If you hang out with nits without ambition then you'll be just that. Spend too much time on liquidpoker and you become an asshole (I kid...don't ban me!) I'm sure I have a different mindset if I hung out with Loco and probably would have made more last year if I roomed with Neilly (or would I?)
Well, the only golden nugget here is being in a relationship = having no friends. Hope I can improve this year... :o
so i got pretty burnt out during december and came to vegas and stayed in hotels / playing cashgames and watching videos
improved my 6max game a ton and learned how to correctly 3b/4b etc, learned a lot about how to play vs those on depolarized ranges as well, which was a big leak in my game
1st of the month was yesterday, decision was to be made. Go for SNE through 6max where i may fail, or play MTT all year where my success rate is much higher (88k profit via OPR last year)
soooo, even tho i made $40/hr during december in cash, the 50k hand sample size was just too small for me to continue, a lack of confidence in cashgames above nl50 also kept from the conversion
so, gonna go hard MTT this year. I will be #1 on the yearly TLB if there aren't any major hinderances in life.
(last year took 2 months off and finished in top 25 i think, i didn't look all december)
Got pretty deep in the 55c 100k tonight, lost QKss vs JJ tho for a 40bb stack with 350 to go (450 ITM). Needed to accumulate some chips to winz
Still in the 5rebuy and closin the night off after that, 324/385 itm atm, lp luck plz -_-
getting a new apartment in either las vegas or a very nice ski/poker city in NY in the coming week or two
im bored, last blog i said i was gonna play cashgame, which was very shorttermed december thinking
just gonna keep ~12 mtts going at a time for now on instead of every mtt that looks good. this way i can have a little more time to do stuff in life, instead of averaging 10-15 hrs a day for a chance to profit
Into 2011
was too drunk from new years party all December 1
So i did grind my sheadule for 1st and 2nd december today
Run kinda bad but also did some things wrong in some spots , too
+ i tilted away ~2bi...
nevertheless
made 75$ +11 Bonus from FPP + ~ 552 VPP
did lose 3.30$ in Tourneys
So overall i did net value ~ +85$ today
long time LP lurker here, but i guess now is as good of a time as ever to start getting involved. poker has been something that i've always wanted to get into and take more seriously, but for some reason or another i never put in the time or effort required to be a winner at it. a couple of years ago i deposited $50 on stars and donked around at the penny tables (and actually more than doubled that in a couple of months), but after that it was on and off playing. decided to start playing again last month, as it is currently my senior year of college and i'm finding myself with a bit of free time to do whatever since my course load isn't as big. been playing NL5 so far for the past month or so and i'm slightly over breakeven (i suck).
i guess my goals for this yr would be to put in at least 1-2 hrs a day and hopefully beat the micros by summer.
also, if anyone wants to play hon just msg me, my id is the same as it is here. gl to everyone with their new year's goals!
Man it can be frustrating putting so much time into learning about the game and not showing any good results. Especially when I am struggling to beat a stake that a monkey with a helmet and a diaper could beat if you gave him a month to learn.
