| | Session 3 by Kapol, January 20
Damn, what a bad run of cards came today. I couldn't hit hardly anything, and when I did - noone wanted to pay me off. Bad, bad PokerStars, you will be punished!
I also played a tourney (just 4 fun), some NLHE$33 turbo. This adventure ended quickly. All-ins on a A7x flop with 3 hearts, I had A7 and my opponent held an Ace and "The Evil 5 Of Hearts". Of course another h felt on the turn and I was out, ending up 341st.

| | The Japanese, why are they so strange? by legendofxix, January 19
I don't know what it is about the Japanese culture but I just find it remarkably strange what they show for entertainment.
I came across this insane obstacle course this Japanese guy had to go through
Link Here
Just looking at some of those things makes me feel more lazy and out of shape.
It looks fun but hard as hell. I swear I'd probably fail at the 1st stage.

| | Good night, gettin' closer by RAHZero, January 19
Tonight was a sold night and a relief after it started off like so many bad nights past. Doubled through very early in my night when I picked up AKo and flopped a boat on an AKK flop, stacking KJ. Then I flopped a set with 22 and made a bad river call, paying off a turned flush, and was back down to barely above even. This sort of pattern has haunted me the last 30k hands or so: I'll start a session off hot, then invariably donk off a buy-in, tilt, and end up down for the day.
Tonight it was not to be, as I kept my head straight, and kept playing good poker. After I lost with my set, I wouldn't win another big pot all night (net 60 BBs +). But I won a TON of medium pots against shortstacks. I won half a stack with KK on a JT8 flop against a shorty with AT, another half a stack when I turned the nut flush with AQs, and another 40 BBs when I flopped the nut flush against a shorty with two pair (and held!). Overall, I won about 6-8 pots that netted me 30-50 BBs, and a few more that netted 20 or so BBs, and finished up a bit over two buy-ins (+$117.05 in 834 hands). Would have been nearly 3 buy-ins if I hadn't made that bad call with 22, but what can you do? I'll just have to learn from the hand, move on and hopefully get to NL 100 soon. After today, my BR is slightly over $2800, so that's less than 4 buy-ins at NL $50 that I need to win.

Well, today I didn't accomplish much poker wise. Went to a hockey game, got back at 10 and played for about an hour before losing all interest even though the tables were fishier than I ever remember.

| | First Update by RAHZero, January 19
Haven't been able to update this or get in as many hands as I had hoped, busy getting ready to go back to school for the Spring semester.
Wednesday was a rough day, got stacked on back to back hands when I pushed a gutshot + flush draw on the flop and didn't improve, then got it all-in with the nut straight on the turn and lost to a rivered flush.
Yesterday was even more frustrating. I made a good read early and called a check-raise all-in on the turn with JJ to go up a buy-in early. Then the doomswitch was turned on. I lost with aces to a massive donk who hit a runner runner flush, where he called off 2/3 of his stack on the flop and turn. Then I shoved 99 on a JT2 flop against the same guy in a reraised pot, he called with AK and rivered a King. A few hands later I made up some of it when he called my push on a 742 flop with A7o. I had JJ and turned a Jack to seal the hand. Finished up about $10 in about 250 hands.
I'm still hoping to get to NL 100 by the end of the week. The plan was to move up and take a shot when my BR hit $3k, and right now it's at $2700. I'll be putting in some hands tonight, heading back to school tomorrow, and then hopefully should be able to get in a decent amount of hands before classes start on Monday.

| | January Summary by vvvQ, January 19
OK : well really I have barely been able to play in January, not because I didn't have time, I did (but not alot)
so i've only been able to get in hands.
The month started out awesome, I was up about 37k in the first week, with barely playing any hands, and I got really lazy and got busy with school and finals and life in general.
I bought a new car (Mitsubish 2005 lancer evolution 8) and I'm putting in a 7k sound system into it. I've had alot of expenses this month and have cashed out alot from stars, so my fulltilt BR has grown alot larger than my stars br now.
(i havn't cashed out from FTP b/c they want me to send in a valid ID and i've been lazy as fuck)
I've been dabbling in the 25/50 this month, and im up a little in the game. Today I played Wytzean or similar headsup for 545 hands at 25/50 and lost $700. I've been doing really good in the 10/20 headsup games on fulltilt and thats what i've been playing most.
So for this month i've played 5k hands and im up about 22.5k after donating about 15k at 25/50 6 max on fulltilt (i made some really plays and got tilted a little).
Next month I hope I have more free time and am motivated to play, and just to let you all know I'm usually a player that plays 40K+ hands/month, so 5k is really slacking for me this late in the month.
Also I might be willing to sell lessons, for HU/6max play up to 5/10 possibly, PM me and we may be able to negotiate a price.

| | NL50 by YoMeR, January 19
Ok so, this week has been pretty calm and i'm right on schedule to get back to NL100 within this month. I moved up to NL50 sitting on 20 buyins. The first 10 k hands i played during the first half of the week was just lee teasing me and i made a grand total of $3.80 dollarswith a win rate of a whoopin .03bb/100!. I almost thought i'd be held back another week or so. But after today's session I guess i'm still on track.
Ok for general strategy it is pretty much the same strategy i used to crush NL10/25 last week. But I tweaked it a little bit and opened up a little in CO/Button since the players at NL50 are 1000000x nittier so I can often pick up more dead money. So i'll be raising stuff like AT on button/Co with several limpers to thin that field or take down the dead money. I'll probably be raising it close to a psb. If they call, oh well i'm playing a pot vs a monkey with position
One thing really did frustrate me this week tho. I think about 2 days ago i played about a 4k hand session of NL50. I got heads up with some turkey. I lost 2 buyins to him, one being a 50/50 race and one being a complete suckout QQ/99. Now the bad beat doesn't really bother me, and even if he talked shit (which he did) won't really bother me much. But then he just took off. So he gave me the whole combo meal. Fuckin hit n runners are shitty and i hope all of you die in a corner quietly.
I really think taking that one month off after i went broke helped me immensly because even 10k of breakeven gayness doesn't faze me or frustrate me one bit. I made a quick 9 buyins this session in just 3k hands. That shows just how quickly fortunes change.
BR at the end of 2nd week: 1450.
more to come, and if i'm not lazy i'll post some specific hands.

I'm going to pick up the phone and ask her if she wants to spend some time with me this weekend.
I'm pretty nervous. Girls tend to gossip about shit like this.
I left my last girlfriend because she was fat. We dated for four years. She was pretty hot when we started but then she really let herself go. And got braces.
I am an asshole.

I just read it, and even though I'm a atheist who finds the concept of "God" more then a bit silly I think it's a really nice text he's written. Everyone needs some basic values in their lives and it can really fuck you up if you don't mind that. I want my fucking ex-gf back .

| | still no motivation by JYang, January 19
shortly before starting my session yesterday, i found out corwin went bustoooooooo. usually my runs and his are pretty parallel, but i haven't played much in the past 2 weeks so i guess i wasn't affected. so instead i played DotA woot =]
my only hope of motivation is school, because it makes me realize how shitty life is. i enjoy every aspect of college except the studying part. but i can't get lower than a B because i still have a lot of asian inside of me. life in new york city owns, but i'm going to have to go back to binghamton university soon. that town is a shithole.

| | psychically weak by PetrBlaha, January 19
Proper topic : Day 3 .
So today I wanted to have a big big session. But there was a problem, I played well but luck wasn't today on my side. I've somehow managed to get out of PF allin by folding QQ (guys had KK and AA)but then I've started to lose and lose and lose (like a set vs set or smth like that).
After 3/4 hour of this bad beats and bad luck I've realized my psychical stamina isn't that great, after those 3/4 hours I felt kinda "psychicaly exhausted" by this bad luck. Maybe I will play more later. I MUST TRAIN MY PSYCHICAL STAMINA! I can't become bad mooded and maybe then start to tilt after few bad beats!

It's time for a new blog entry .

| | Late night session by Trey, January 19
I was sweating a few friends during the night and decided I wanted to play a couple small sessions. I ended up playing a few 150-200 hand sessions and ran/played pretty well. I made a mistake vs a shortstack trying to be too aggro with AK unimproved on flop. Here's the whole day's graph, including my morning session.

What can I say... I played some good TAG poker, except for a few hands where The Fancy Play Syndrome occured (I can't get rid of it, fighting hard but it still comes back, like a boomerang). Tx to it i lost a few bucks in this session, but I hope it'll be only better .

Woke up this morning around 10am, fucked around for a bit then started playing some more 6.5SNG. First two tournies yielded nothing, so I quickly got into two more. Took first in one and bubbled on the other. I had three papers due by 1:00pm, so I decided to take a break/shower then get to work.
All three papers were 1 page summaries of three different stories about 10 pages in length on average. It took me about 2 hours to finish, so I had no more time for poker.
Classes ended around 5 and when I got back I started poker again. Because I ran so well last night, I decided to treat myself to a 15+1 SNG. I ran into AA early on and dropped half my chips, but I managed to pull through and ended up taking second place overall (I should have had first, but the guy inhaled violently out). Anyway, the rest of the day was rather blah, so let me get on to the stats.
Stats for the day:
Starting Bankroll : $72
Tournies Played : 12
Tournies Cashed : 3
Net Profit/Loss : -$4
Ending Bankroll : $68.97
I have no classes tommorow, so I plan on just sitting around playing poker all day.
Oh, and my RA of my hall decided to have free food night tonight, of which I took total advantage of and ate 4 7x4 chicken tenders + 3 full cups of soda + 10 cookies + handfull of bbq chips. Im not a big guy (6'0, 140~ lbs) so needless to say I felt gross for the rest of the night.
