Girl I'm trying to date: I watched a movie today for two hours. What a waste.
Me: I played Zelda for two hours.
Girl: At least my activity was mentally stimulating.
Me: amagad Zelda is sooo mentally stimulating! You have no idea.
Girl: Yeah but it doesn't make you think about the world's problems, or current events.
Me: I got the master sword.
Girl: lol ok bye
GG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My roommate: "If she doesn't know the importance of the master sword, she is not the one."
Poker resumes February 1st. Look out NL25. All your stacks are belong to us.

| | Nice day, but I still hate you UB by RAHZero, January 29
Decided to mix it up and play a little NL 50 today to shoot a video. Well that didn't go well, because I got flush over flushed twice (one was flopped flush over flopped flush in a blind battle, WTF thanks UB), and ended up yelling profanities. Took a break, watched 24 (another sick episode, next week is going to be insane), then came back to play NL 100.
Well that went much better than NL 50. I flopped a set with 55 on a K95 board, all clubs, and led into the PF raiser, who flat called. The turn was the ten of clubs, I checked, he checked behind. River was the beautiful ten of diamonds, I bet the pot, he pushed, I called, AcKx no good, up half a stack early. I won a couple small pots, raised QQ in a blind battle, got raised on the ten high flop, called, shoved over his turn bet and took it down for +$50ish, then won about $70 with QQ on a J22 flop vs. KJ. I proceeded to take a donk to value-town with QQ, he called my reraise with 99 and proceeded to call me down on the 6-high flop with 99, won a full stack there. The last huge hand was with AA. A tight-passive limped to me in the BB, I raised to $5. Flop came KQQ, I led for $8, he called. Turn was a sweet Ace, I checked, he bet $15, I called. River was an 8, I checked, he bet $25, I raised all-in, he called. 88 no good, LOL!
Totals for the day:
NL 50: 628 hands, -$107.85
NL 100: 699 hands, +$271.15
Profit: $163.30

| | Session 22 (NL100 & NL50) by Kapol, January 29
I played a lil' bit of NL100...
Hands: 111
Balance: -$69.80
Total hands: 5,510
Total balance: -$312.60
...and decided to go back to NL50. I started playing "No limping, PFR=VP$IP (not exactly of course, just close to each other)" tactic. I won a lot playing like this in December (sth like $1,5k in a week). And I PROMISE: No More NL100 Until My Bankroll Reaches $4K (Kapol's NMNL100UMBR$4K resolution ).

| | The Perfect Session: A Myth? by Joe, January 29
Imagine a session, in which you would never get outdrawn, your AK/AQ hit everytime, you hit your sets like once out of 3 times, your draws would hit every second time and you would be always correct with your bluff catching calls. Nice imagination, isnt it? Too bad such sessions practically never happen. Or do they?
Yea they do! I just finished one such session Well maybe they outdrew me a few times, i didnt hit a set every 3rd time, but overall it was really THE PERFECT SESSION.
I could say a lot of words describing how good i run, but i think one picture will say it all
http://joeik.sc45.info/img/joe/poker_all_070129.jpg
As you can see, I also reached the 10,000 USD milestone in my Party Account
For those who want to see a screen shot of my tables, here is the link: Joe NL200 Screenshot
Besides cash games, I also entered 2 tournaments:
1. $100 buyin $100,000 guaranteed tourney on Mansion poker with only 543 entrants (= overlay of more than $45k). I was doing decent and kept my stack above average basically with just some stealing and small value hands. But when the field was down to about 150, blinds were already huge and i kept being colddecked for a long long time. I didnt manage to double up and ended 135th.
2. $10+$1 rebuy tournament on PokerStars with about 1250 entrants and final prizepool of something like $53k. I decided to play the maniac way in the beginning pushing about every second hand or so, but things didnt really go my way and i lost 8 pushes in a row. i decided to make my final rebuy and play somewhat tighter with my maniac image. Soon I managed to triple up when my QQ held against K7o and 33. I didnt get any more big hands in the rebuy period and ended with about 12k after taking add-on. Average stack was cca 8k. So not too good considering i was in for $141, but not that bad either.
I proceeded playing tight and just waiting for hands for a long time. I managed to hold almost an average stack till the field was down to about 200 players. First bubble was at 180. When there was 181 players left i went allin with JJ only to get called by KK. No help came, but I wasnt out yet, was left with like 1.5bb. I didnt realise i could probably wait till i make the money so I pushed the very next hand, QTs. I managed to almost quadruple up when I hit a str8. So I made the money ($80 lol) and kept stealing till i had about 8bb. Then I pushed with 77 only to find the sb holding JJ. No help came and I was out somewhere around 160th. Maybe next time...

Been really lazy this month for whatever reason. Still pretty happy about my results though. I've almost got my BR back up to 6K, and will give 200NL another shot.

| | Monday night session by baxteru, January 29
Some hands once again. Sory if they don't seem interesting or if you feel offended in any way this time and any other time. Please bear with me.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/hand/hand.php?hand=138950
This guy has 16.24/8.55/1.75 ... 234 hands sample. I think he could have anything here but the way i played it is horrible. I'm too tired to think about this right now. I want to forget this and move on.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/138951
This is how i should've played the Kings probably ...and go broke
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/138952
He thought for a while and reraised me on the river ... i thought about AK but also about KK and TT but i couldn't fold for an extra $9... good for me, bad for him.
I also have a tough spot where again i get a check and a raise after i bet. WTF i hate this the most. It goes like this. Some guy raises preflop to $1... i flat call with AK ...button folds and Villan in the small blind calls also. Flop comes A94 rainbow and the raiser quickly checks ... I bet $2 and the Villan reraises me $3.25 to $5.25 almost instantly... now i hate my life and fold since i had no info on him ...he just came at the table. The mofo turn out to be an extremely agro and pretty loose type of villan so i double hate my life. So im open for sugestions on how to deal with this creepy Check raises that i hate so much. I didn't post the hand cause i felt ashaimed.

| | 200nl yeah baby! by SakiSaki, January 29
So I moved back up to 200nl like two days ago or so. Havent played much but Im doing well so far. I have been nitting it up a bit while getting used to the partypoker 200nl game dynamics.
So far the games seem to be very straight forward with lots of fish so I have great hopes for my future poker career here on partypoker.
Over 2,6k hands im running at 6.9ptbb/100 with 19/17/6 stats.
Now I have to go study for an exam i will fail for sure. T_T

| | End of the weak goal by Gawuss, January 29
EDIT: OMFG I CAN'T CHANGE ENTRY TITLE THERE SHOULD BE 'WEEK', NOT 'WEAK' -_- SORRY FOR THIS. IF ANYONE COULD CORRECT IT, PLZ DO IT
First of all, I'd like to say about my yesterday's play. I've made something like $150 so I got back my money, which I lost 2 days ago ( about $110, not much, only 1BI but still $ ).
And now somethin about my goal.
I'm gonna build my bankroll to 3k untill the end of next week. I'll get rakeback so I have to earn only about 5 buy-ins. Yea I know it's pretty ez, but it's just the first step of my 'bankroll-building'. I have to play really good, without any mistakes. I want to go up to the higher levels as fast as it's possible and I'm really motivated to play. My next goal is 5k on the end of Feb, then at least 2k profit in March. I want to finally build some nice bankroll cuz I really hate to play those low limits. So wish me well on my 'road to the sky'

| | God by DustySwedeDude, January 29
Hear ohh God fearing people! So is it said in the scripture; Thou shall not min-raise. God hates the heretic min-raisers whom tries to get some extra value out of their hands but cannot bet like men. He who min-raises migth win a few extra chips of silver, but their betrayal of the holy lord will cost them dearly when they try to cross the river. He who min-raises will never be able to lay down a hand and his overpairs will allways be cracked by gutshot straight draws.
And remember, God loves those who spread the love and even ugly girls need loving. If you want your overpairs to hold up God will help you if you from time to time fuck an ugly girl when you can’t find something better.

Havn't updated in a couple days, it being the weekened and all.
Lets see... here is what I did: Played semi-massive amounts of poker, took 1st in the live game I play fairly easy, played an ass-load of Halo2, partied with some friends, read an even bigger ass-load of Cyanide and Happiness comics, ect. ect... the usuall grind.
My cash game is comming along very well. I think things are starting to click, finally. Everyone was right when they said "you will get better if you play thinking poker". Also, with the help of some friends (old and new), my vision and understanding toward the game has changed a lot for the better. No doubt there is still tons of room to improve, but at least now I realize it --;
My Daily Stats
2000 hands played and saw flop:
- 54 times out of 263 while in small blind (20%)
- 156 times out of 261 while in big blind (59%)
- 219 times out of 1476 in other positions (14%)
- a total of 429 times out of 2000 (21%)
Pots won at showdown - 43 out of 88 (48%)
Pots won without showdown - 203
I realize my showdown a bit low, but at these limits you get a lot of free or relatively cheap looks at the river. I also took your guys' advice and have been playing less hands, although it still isnt as low as you suggested.
Starting Bankroll:
$37.07
Ending Bankroll:
$75.70
Also, because I like this comic so much im going to include a funny one from now on

| | Ran GOOD by iD.iNsky, January 28
Well on friday I deposited 400$ onto FT, and was playing some 25NL and 25PL omaha. I made crazy money in omaha becuase half the people dont even know how to play. I must have had a dozen people go wait I had the 8 for a stright too(not knowing they need to use 2 from thier hand and 3 on the board). And then about 10minutes ago I finished 2nd in a 4k grt omaha tourney for 680$.
So in 3 days
BR : $1725.38
+1325.38
RakeBack : 374.33(+w/e i made in the last 3 days)
So this week I will start 50NL and sick to 25PL omaha for now.(I also talked to steve that it might be a good idea to hide my mouse when i go out and get wasted )

| | blogs suck by Craigerson, January 28
and yet i'm using one...
so today i wake up... take a nice shit... doo doo all over the place... chinese food just went right through my system. it was good food... mandarin chicken is the 3rd greatest food created by chinese people. 1st being pan friend chicken in garlic sauce and 2nd being chicken chow phun (sp.?) it's 11:05 and i'm just relaxing after going up 3 buyins at nl400...
i think i'm just gonna stay at nl400 from here on unless i go down below 8k... i'm kinda sick of nl200 since i have too many buyins... yes, you heard me... having over 50 buyins is too much for me. i get careless.
so... we went to some little poker club this weekend. nice, juicy games over there... too bad i got sucked out at the tournament~ i had like~ 10BBs left and i got dealt T2 on the big blind with 6 players. flop came TsTd7d i check it assuming someone is gonna bet into the pot. the button leads for 4BBs, i push~ the guy turns over Ad2d to chase the nut flush -_-;; standard stuff... got sucked out by the flush. after the tourney i was tempted to sit down at the 1/3 NLHE game but decided to restrict myself and just watch Rush play terrible in the tournament. he luckboxed his way to 2nd.
also, topher got yelled at by some old hobo. quite hilarious. the hobo snapped after topher said some remark~ "GOSH, that was the dumbest comment i've ever heard! don't think? psh~" (the hobo butted into our conversation cause Rush told us he was over-thinking the situations) seriously though. the guy had long grey hair, punk outfit, looked like he's been addicted to heroin since he was a baby, big droopy eyes, smelled funny etc... etc...
enough of this. i'm done typing...
p.s. i hope one of you guys get your leg chopped off

| | Another good session at 10NL by tae-g, January 28
I just finished up another good 10NL session.
It was a bit of a rollercoaster, but I ended up +3BI after 1.5 hours. 10NL is so fishtastic. Im on pace to move to 25NL in about a month and a half I guess.
This is why I LOVE 10NL

| | A dollar and a will to live by CrownRoyal, January 28
I'm essentially broke, and have a dollar in my ps account.
I've been in this situation before, i've went busto 2-3 times and the grind in front of me is looking dismal.
Since ive done this a few times I have a pretty good strategy for getting back into action.
First of all, I'll grind .02/.04 FL until about $10 at which time I'll start playing the $1 sngs and i'll probably grind up sngs until im at $400 from there I can 12 table NL25 comfortably. I'll probably play in all of the microstake mtts I can afford too. The are so easy and can be a real jumpstart to my bankroll if i get deep enough.
As I write this, my bankroll is 1.08 as long as I don't get real unlucky here right off the bat I should be rolled for nl25 in about 2-3 weeks.
wish me luck

| | FU UB... by RAHZero, January 28
Saturday night I didn't play any poker (or get drunk, but that's another long, frustrating story).
Tonight should have been another huge day at NL 100, except UB is frigging rigged against me. KK < AKs all-in preflop, and not more than 5 minutes later, AA < KK at the same table. Final totals were -$70 over slightly more than 1000 hands. Overall, a very frustrating night, especially since I should have been way up.
