| | Buying PT? by novaballistix, March 16
So my bankroll is currently floating around 250, been going up and down this past week. I haven't had much time to play due to midterms and other problems, but overall, I've been able to get in around a 2 hr session for the whole week. One of my friends really encourages me to buy pokertracker, which I was planning to buy when I reach a 500 milestone br. However, now that I think about it, I do need it, as it can possibly fix my leaks and can end this nightmare on 10nl (when I finally move to 25nl). Since Im a cheapass, I'll only be buying the software with my pokerstars money rather than with anything else. This may be a problem because $55 is about 1/5 of my br. On the bright side, I know that if I do purchase it, I'll be more psyched when it comes to playing and my performance will be improved.
I wonder if anyone has a cracked version of PT? :O

Played about 2.5k hands
Went really well majority of the session, maintained a solid winrate and played solid poker, took some suckouts, had a few luckouts.
Right at the end of the session i managed to blow 5 buyins in about 30 hands to PURE setups. Real shame but o well, it happens.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/159115
My Flopped K high flush vs Flopped nut flush, and it was agiainst the only other guy on the table with a big enough stack to cover my 2 buyin stack. Sigh.
p.s i dont like my river shove in retrospect i shoulda just value bet, but i wanted to make it look like i was on a flush draw that missed, donks love to push their stack with missed draws so i figured id try it and see if i could get a call outta some 2pair hand or so.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/159120
Then KK vs 79s, he got quads, i was really wary on the flop reraise but decided to just call and see what happened, then he fired again on the turn, i was skeptical but though hmm ill call anyway. Then the 3rd 9 came up and i figured im basically good here. then he flips over quads, was quite deepstacked too.
Then the last was just a standard setup situation, nothing special to explain.
Anyway here is the graph of the session, even despite the last beats its still all goooood.

| | Rambling about the game by seweri, March 16
Hello hello, it's been a while since I last wrote but here we go again. I won't go into much detail about how I've been doing with poker lately. Instead, I'll write some tips that are mostly for myself. Maybe I'll remember them better during a session this way instead of after it when it's too late :D
I don't believe in anything supernatural but I think karma (not the guy from Lpnet) is a real bitch. On two or three occassions this month I've had a good session or two and after that I feel like I fucking own NL100 and 25 PTBB/100 is standard for me. That's when reality kicks in and last week I lost 8bi in one day. That's huge with my somewhat nitty style of 6max. I admit that about half or so, maybe more was due to bad play but the cards weren't falling my way either. Some examples:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/159111
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/159110
Note these are both against the same guy and I had a good reason to call the overbet ai with AA, he was playing really bad but just constantly sucking out on me. Oh well, after that I took a break and started playing again on tuesday. It's been good since and those 8 buy-ins have been won back and a few on top of that. This time, however, I won't go to the tables like I own the world. Instead I'll try to keep playing my ABC game and not make too many moves (I think it's not profitable in NL100 cause the competition is so bad) and most importantly stay humble.
That is another thing I've been thinking a lot about: after moving from NL50 my vpip has dropped a few percents, and my pf raise has dropped about one percent. It's not like I'm afraid at NL100 or anything, this is my second time around and I don't hesitate to make moves when I think it's profitable.
Some examples I quickly found from PT:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/159117
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/159119
So I've tightened up to 19.73/14.94 and I've been really thinking would it be more profitable to open up my game to 25/something cause against most of these guys I think I have an edge postflop so why not go there more often? Of course the situations would be different cause I'd have to play worse hands and so on but I don't know... I think I'll give this a serious try on some lower limit, maybe NL25 where I can afford to donk several buy-ins without too much effect on my br. The games will probably be softer though with less regulars with similar nitty stats like me The idea of opening my game came to me when I saw a few guys with stats like mine on my tables and thought “omg, nits”. Then I realized I'm like that too and maybe loosening up my play would give more action to my big hands. I have some trouble with playing marginal holdings cause my pot control is terrible. When I get involved, the pot is usually big and that's not good with middle pair type holdings. I want to give it a try though and I'll get some training done at lower limits.
I'd like to ramble some more but I think no-one would read it, I wonder if anyone reads even this :D I'll save it for some other time and maybe even try to make a point then. There's not a clear point in this post but as I stated at the start of my post this is mostly done for myself, if someone gets something out of this that's a plus.
For those of you that are interested my month is 14,389 hands at 5.16 PTBB/100 for a profit of $1,484.40. It's good, it could be better, and it's not enough cause I'm about 1 PTBB/100 behind Muhweli in our march prob bet. I trust he will go on a massive downswing soon enough, or not get the 20k hands we agreed on done :D

| | Rollercoaster by fanta[Rn], March 15
Good news everyone, my terrible rollercoster session for today is over. Actually I started really good today and made +2 BI in a few hundred hands, then I decided to stop playing because I had a WoW raid (-EV) going on.
Afterwards I was pretty bored so I started to play and well... rollercoaster. I'm still up the 2 BI from earlier today so I'm doing fine.
http://img292.imageshack.us/img292/5504/pgco2.png
Signing out now, gotta get ready for uni in some hours and I just got the newest Poker After Dark episode so I'm going to enjoy this one. I hope Tilly makes another priceless move like her "dodge the nuts" move from last episode.

| | big day in 100NL by Jamie217, March 15
Hey guys what up
Im starting this blog cuz some of my friends said itd be a good motivational tool and I think it should help me w/ keeping track of how I am doing and such... I normally play 100NL 6max on stars... My goal ATM is to move up to 200NL when I have 30BI. So a couple days ago I ran super hot in 100NL
http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/1255/bignldaymarch13li5.png
So since I ran my BR up to 30BI for 200NL I went and play a small sesh and did fairly well in that..So if all things go well I should be 200NL reg for a couple months while I try to furthur improve my game and bui;d up a 30/35 BI BR for 400NL.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/158990 well i guess it's a fold, but i felt commited -.-
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/158992 ACK i was happy i would prolly actually stack this guy who only min raises all day... sadly -.-

| | Yay 6 tables > 3 by bigbb33, March 15
Got pissed off and decided to 6 table instead of my usual 3 tabling, which I had been doing following sbrugby's advice. Personally I think it's a lot easier to improve when 3 tabling, but it's better to throw up more tables if you are content to improve more slowly but want results (ie money right now), which is grinding.
Oh and holy shit is 3 tabling boring compared to 6. 250 hands an hour is not fun, and if you are 5 bb/100 that means it's 4 hours per buyin you make: not very motivating.
On another note, I feel my 50 NL game is pretty awesome compared to the opposition, so grinding until I take shots at 100 NL (3 tabling there) should work out. Hope to be there soon... again.

| | I'm back! by DarkMigore, March 15
Coudn’t acess LP.net here in my house, don’t know why, but after one week i had a genius idea! Use proxy! And here I am.
Hit 110 again a few days ago, but the i went back to 95 in the next day, I’m really have a problem with 110... second time that i have a drawdown when I hit it. Think I get excited or something, I don’t really know, nervous maybe. Because generally, I guess I have a Ok game (even though I don’t really know what that means, lol), from now on, I’ll try to be cool and my bad luck number is 110.
I really need to increase the number of hands/day, I play like 400 hands/day in the last few days. The number is increasing slowly...
Here is my graph since january 27th.
http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/8923/lalalalafz4.jpg
Excel FTW! \o/
Hope i can pass 110 this time
I've been saving some hands in notepad to post here, but I was submiting tha hands and I'm too lazy too put them all here. I chose just some hands that I liked or disliked
1- http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/157995
Flopped quads, no one bets, hate when it happens.
2- http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/158894
Flopped quads again, Guess I should have raised turn.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/158909
Didn't realized he had a draw here, but if river was a diamond I would probably fold.
3- http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/158905
Dammit!
4- http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/158899
Sick read! LOL
5- http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/158895
Dunno... No comments
Numbered the hands in case u want to say something like "WTF at hand # man, u stupid, quit poker, quit life" or something.
The ones who missed me say "Stab him", guess it's no one. =(
Anyway, I'm back posting my stupid hands and learning poker.

| | My New Blog by Chris_55555, March 15
Well, I finally decided to start a blog.
This blog is going to be used as a motivational tool for myself and just somewhere to express my thoughts. The vast majority will be poker talk, lots of stats and graphs because pictures are fun
I’m not going to go through my whole poker story, it’s not really that interesting anyway, but I will give a brief overview of my last few months.
I am currently playing 5/10 NL on PartyPoker. This is kind of a fast jump for me because I had only played up to 1/2 NL until mid February, which was when I started 2/4 NL on PokerStars. I played about 22k hands of 2/4 and ran at about 3.5ptbb/100. During this stretch I ventured over to Party to try it out, since I am Canadian and still eligible
I decided to take a shot at 5/10 one night and did well and so I played some more and am still having success, admittedly over a very small sample, but I’m hoping to continue on playing and beating 5/10. At the same time if I am not feeling comfortable or starting playing/running bad I will not hesitate to move back down. I have only played ~5k hands so far.
Here are my 2/4 and 5/10 stats.
http://img67.imageshack.us/img67/893/untitledwa7.png
Well I guess thats it for my first post. I will update in a few days and will hopefully have another 5k or so hands of 5/10 under my belt.

| | Still Chillin at NL25 by DonVale, March 15
Wats up guys DonVale here...im still just chillin at NL25 with like a 12 hundo bankroll...wanna get that up to 1500 before i take real stabs at NL50. I played a lil today on NL50 actually, just 4 tables of 6max NL50 and managed to be up like 60 bucks i think. The swings are much more worse tho than on my Nl25 tables where i feel more in control. I had the pleasure of also watching ggplz bank like 1,500 in a 20+2 tourney today which was sweet. keep fightin man. So right now i gotta do some work but im playin a lil 3 handed with shortstack donks so i can't miss that action... well GL with all ur play and i hope u all make millions out on the virtual felt.

Ok so I'm basicly down 4 buy-ins or something in a few days which feels really strange after my retarded heater I've had for a while but I'd like to post some hands from today that really shows why I play on unibet.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/158761 <- TBBK is teh nutz!
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/158762 <- 87o is teh nutz!
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/158763 <- T-high is teh nutz!
I basicly didn't hit a hand for over 3 hours today and I'm still only down a few buyins, I've never been happier after losing about 300 USD.

Right now i am playing the 5$

My poker story in short:
Started out with a couple of dollars, like 20$, that i lend from a friend on PS. Went bust, lend some, bust etc. lend more up to 120$ or something. Eventually paid him off grinded my way to 500 - 600. Move up to 25NL, play when you are drunk and donk off some buyins. Stay playing on 25NL too long / drunk = bust.
Why this blog?
I wanna keep track of my results in the homegames i play 1-3 times a week. This is either a 10NL or 20NL game. I've been a pretty consistent winner in those games and wanna know how much i make with em. Maybe ill try to save up the winnings.
Since i don't have pockertracker yet i will also keep track of my online escapades. This month I started playing online poker again, because before that i didn't have the necessary confindence and whatnot.
Results starting from the beginning march:
online: started with 100$ i lend from a friend. I will consider it as my 'roll'. I've been playing 10NL. My roll is now:
Online: $185 + $50 i lend out
live: after some losing (yeah wtf?) sessions from the beginning of march i scored a decent 110 score in a 20/20 game yesterday.
Liveroll: even
Will update this blog like once or twice this week, depends on how much i've been playing. Will start my new job next week so i'm not really sure if i am able to play that much.

| | 10 nl need some help too by freakzin, March 15
so i first pwnd it up at 10 nl won 8 buyins then i lose 4 to badbeats then i win 2 again
lose 2 again to badbeats
its sickening but yeah.
well this may sound strange but i have some issues on avoiding badbeats.
but its unlogical . and don't flame
edit: it comes down to tight passive i know its bad but at 10 & 25 nl i get outdrawn to much so i could bether always just play it safe
i'm almost always putting money in ahead but i'm alot all in on flop or turn . but then turn or river kicks me in the balls.
so i have this little theory and this hand can show it
so i'm thinking of just always calling down when my hand pownez and the cards that kick me i'll fold to.
+ some comments on this no flames i am probably wrong but well you see it again i lose it all where i could have won alot .
