wtf is wrong? by SneakrFreakr, April 08

After a decent session I had yesterday, today I lost 4,5 buyins. I don't know what's going on. I got a few tough beats but I'm losing tons of cash in small and medium pots. Here are my stats from today (they don't include $100 I won on UB in a nl50 HU cash game that lasted 15 mins - obviously I lost a 160bb pot to a runner runner flush there as well):

http://img292.imageshack.us/img292/9070/333cv9.jpg

As you can see I'm a fkin nit. Somehow everyone seems to be calling, raising and floating me all the time. My AF on flop is pretty high, when I compare it to other winning players so that's probably the problem. But wtf - I don't cbet every flop and those winning players have AF on flop about 2.5-3.5 and they say they cbet like 80% of the time. So why mine AF is so damn high? I also think I'm getting myself into too many marginal spots by raising 50/10 type of retard-limpers with too weak or speculative holdings. Any suggestions? How can I change my postflop play? When should I cbet and when should I give up? I know that it depends on villain, flop texture etc and I think I'm adapting to all those conditions but those bastards keep playing back at me all the time when I've got nothing. When I actually have a hand they either fold or outdraw me in some ridiculous way. I guess I might be just running bad but wtf - not for such a long time. My winning session are like "wtf - a miracle". I know I've got a lot of leaks but why can't I beat those morons on nl100? Can I be that bad? I'm not worried about the money but I'm just becoming more and more hopeless. I try to study my game regularly, read the forums, I watch videos on CR and I've got a good understanding of the concepts explained and introduced there but I just can't keep winning regularly. Like wtf look at this graph (my April so far):

http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/9232/444ll4.jpg

Is it normal? I don't think so. I must be doing wrong something very important. Some key concept I'm missing. Desperately looking for help. Anyone?

Playing Poker again by PplusAD, April 08

Okay , so now i fianally played some NL10 sh on Full Tilit today. ( you know GF story ..)
My aim was to play about 900 Hands which i achieved.
The results were medicore but still green

I got sucked out heavily 3-4 times but i guess thats just normal in 1000 hands.

1st suckout i got my lovely Queens again <3
MP player limps
I am late Position with QQ and raise 0.40 $ to 0.65$
everyone folds ( sb BB) except the Idiot who limpraises all in with a 6.80$ stack.

my thoughts : he may have KJs or AJs or something and tries to do a stupid move by getting the 65 cent Pot right away.
He limped preflop middle Position first to act so he has probably not a strong Hand. And most people at NL 10 are idiots anyway and do such stuff all day.
-> so i call.

ME QQ he A4o ROFL
But i somehow knew i d lose this Hey i have QQ this is
- EV for me.

Idiot wins with a Pair of aces ...
- 6,80$

2nd suckout.
A shortstack 1.90$ who was obviously on Tilt cause he raised all in everey 3rd hand or something

i got 33 and since i knew he would raise all in with AJ A10 KQ and such things and i can only lose 1,90$ while i am the favourite here most of the time.
- i call
he had 24s lol.
But he winns with a pair of fours ...

- 1,90$

3rd suckout.
I got a nice full house on a Flush board with 4 Diamonds.
SO i was pretty sure i had the Nuts when villian got all in on river.
-> call

And yes, he had a Flush yeha !
but unfortunately a straight flush
- 7,80$

there were probably a few others but nothing really worth to mention.

ALl in all
hands ~ 1000
Vpip ~ 18
Profit : + 4.07 $

Not that great but at least its nice to see that i have a big edge over NL 10 and still end up green in ~ 1000hands by winning many many small pots with semibluffs, conti bets and stuff though i got about - 17 $ due to the 3 suckouts alone.

Hm , maybe this blog entry isnt of interest to anyone since NL10 is supernoob and i am not a Pokergosu and all.
Who wants to hear the story of a newb making 4$ ^^
but i add 2 nice little pics for you !

Gusto or Busto by tere here, April 08

Im going for the gusto or Im going to go busto.

First thanks Twistedecho for analyzing my hands and Talentedtom who I talked to on msn...Thanks to Johnny Cosmo for trying to help me out by gettin me on ventrilo...
Thanks to the random comments such as Soah mentioning how I'm too results oriented. That is definitely true and I am hoping to work on that.

So I guess Im going to try and give back what I know when I play this game and what I learn from talking to people. In this way I want to give back what I learn and not selfishly keep it to myself.

Okay so my conversation with Tom had a few underlying themes. Bet for value and Play based on ranges.

Too often I would put the guy on a specific hand, only to realize that i gave him too much credit and his range was much wider, thus losing value. Or I would put him on the wrong hand and not give him enough credit and end up losing an entire buyin. When you put people on ranges, you become more confident with your calls and you are less scared because you know in the long run, a call against that player in that situation is a +EV situation, or you know that a bet against that player in that situation is +EV.

From what I gathered in terms of poker THEORY with my talk with Tom is I realized that I know nothing about poker THEORY. Ive played poker tons but never actually read a book. I dont know the theory and although Tom did not even say the word Theory once, I realized that it does exist. Sort of like when you study a subject in university you think what the hell am I doing here this has no real life application, what you dont realize is that by just doing the real life applications you become like a machine, uncapable to adapt to different situations.

In the past I would just raise like crazy and then when I have a hand raise some more like crazy. I just assumed I would get money by playing crazy then hitting a hand and playin that even more crazy.

I understand image, protecting your hands, abc poker, tag and lag etc. But I never thought in terms of value. For example, when you reraise preflop with KK to a certain number, in the long run, doing such a move will make you +EV even when you find yourself sure your up against a set. In otherwords raising to a certain number makes it OKAY for you to call an all in against somebodies set. (Obv, you must see board texture and whether you have EQUITY against a board like that or not.) But in long run, a person hits a set 1 in 12 times and raisin to that number preflop is the equivalent of multiplying it 11 times and then losing 1 buyin. If the 11x that number is greater than the 1 buyin then you are winnin $ in long run. (Again you can get even greater EV by checking out your equity)

Equity means what hands will go all in on a given board that you have crushed. A board like Q29 and you holding AA is a good DRY board because if your going all in or you get called multiple streets, then most likely you are up against a DRAW (JT) AQ, KQ, QJ 22 99 or QQ. The likely hood of him having 22, 99 or QQ is much lower than the likelyhood of the guy having hit the Q.

On a board of JT7 holding KK you have very little equity. You are either crushed by better hands or you are marginally better vs draws such as J9 or KQ. The only hand that you might have crushed is QQ and thus this type of board has very little equity while holding KK.

In any case equity is a good thing to learn, notice and apply while in the game.

I just finished reading Twistedechos comments on my last session and the theme I seem to gather from him is that I should bet stronger, as much as potting the flop and turns. When I have good hands I shoudl think about stack sizes and how to get it all in.

I usually bet the amonut I do because I give ppl credit for the ability to fold out strong holdings when I bet too strong. However I think I will give this betting 'theory' a try.

Here are a few hands I had recently that I thought were better because I put people on ranges. I will try Twistedecho's advice next session and see how that goes

199 vs 68 Td8dX flop

2http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/171062" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">77 vs AQ reraised preflop

3http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170843" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Flopped straight, Turn 2 ppl go all in with bigger straight possible

In hindsight this may be an easy call. When I saw Offishtix call I was thinking god I'm going up against KQ. Then I sat back and asked myself what his range was. The first guy I put on the range including a set and KQ but there were probably many hands I beat of his. Offishstix himself could have 2 pair or a bunch of other holdings so it made the call much easier when I put him on a range. Looking at hands Specifically, it appears the only hand to call an all in with nothing invested would be KQ...but when you put it into ranges it gets easier...i dont think it was an easy call nonetheless

4Second pair vs shortstack I think this guy being a shortstack made the call that much easier, but also I think putting him on a range of missed draw made it also much easier. Given my turn call I know KX bets again and it was possibly in his range but a short stack would more likely vbet his top pair in my opinion. SO i called

Anyways I am wasting time posting this and I really have to study so I will see you guys next time!

(Probably will be playin less poker this week due to 4 exams in 5 days)

Good luck all!

Trying to be Tom by DustySwedeDude, April 08

Face it, everyone wants to be like Tom. A few days ago I read something posted by Ket in this topic and I’ve tried it out. However, I need some help (see end of post.

Here's what Ket wrote:

“remember in poker, your profit in the long run is [the total sum of mistakes your opponents make] - [the total sum of your mistakes]. so doing things to induce more mistakes from your opponents is just as important as not making mistakes yourself.

in actual fact, on a related sidenote, this is pretty much the reason i think TalentedTom is able to win extremely good money at 2/4 3/6. his loose goose play-tons-of-hands-pf style can be easily exploited by good players, and if he's to try and play the same way on a typical 10/20nl stars table that consists mainly of (relatively) smart good solid regs, they will make the proper adjustments to crush him. but luckily for our blonde-ignoring-and-going-for-her-less-attractive-friend hero, there don't exist many players at all at midstakes nl who have the necessary depth of poker theory understanding to make the correct adjustments to him, and in attempts to do so they actually wind up 'adjusting' to his preflop looseness in the worst possible way. they become frustrated by his frequent getting out of line and pounding at them every hand with junk hands on the 'small bet' streets (preflop and flop), so try to adapt by calling him down real light even on the 'big bet' streets (turn and river). in doing so they get obliterated because TT is actually only getting out of line frequently in the small pots and being much tighter and more solid+straightforward on the whole in big pots. when the big bets go in on turn and river TT will show up with the best hand and win a big pot from some frustrated donk that got tilted by his preflop ridiculousness. so what he's doing is purposely making small mistakes himself in small pots in order to get an image which induces much larger mistakes from weak players later on. these sorts of weaker players are in plentiful supply at up to 2/4 and 3/6, which are the stakes talentedtom CRUSHES for winrates that are pretty much unachievable by a straightforward solid TAG player (who will only exploit the mistakes that weaker players make but doesn't do much to induce any).”

This really got me thinking and since then I’ve started playing crazy pf and now I’m running with a VPIP of about 30% and a pfr of about 24% with total AF just under 3. My last session was even worse, 36/29/3 and I’ve got my sick winrate since the donks on Unibets NL200 are sick weaktight and basicly looks for reason to fold all the time except when they get mad and figures that I can’t hit a fd or have AA every hand. Then they decide that I allways bluffs and pays me off with third pair in reraised pots. It’s basicly heaven and I’m running at allmost 11bb/100 hands during my first 6k hands at NL200. I’ve been running good and stuff, but it’s still pretty sick. I’ve also tried to bluff a lot and very big vs obvious weakness and show it to people who seems easy to tilt. Anyway, I think I’m a bit to passive post flop and even if I feel that I’m much better then most people on the server I play I’m still a pretty bad hand reader and my “plays” sometimes gets me into really bad spots. I’ve handled this by being really carefull with semi-weak made hands, like TPBK or 2nd pair which I just check behind on flop and maybe bet like a decent bet on turn and a small one on the river. I think I lose a lot of value and potential reversed implied tilt odds here. This is why I try to merge my ranges (term from 2+2 or something, can’t get that damn forum to work but it’s basicly that you try to play a wider range of hands the same way and basicly just make sure that you beat his calling-“range” rather then his actual hand). I’m having a fair bit of trouble with this so if anyone has some pointers on this subject it’d be great.

That’s the first point. The secound one is what type of hands that is nice to raise with from different positions. As it is now my “standard”, before the table tries to adjust to me in more or less retarded ways, is something like this:

UTG: 22+,A2s+,ATo+,KQo+,KTs+,45s+
UTG+1: 22+,A2s+,A9o+,KJo+,KTs+,45s+
CO: 22+,A2s+,A6o+,K9o+,K2s+,Q7s+,Q9o+,J6s+,J9o+,T7s,T8o+, 23s+, 35s+, 47s+
B: 22+, everything suited, everything connected, every A and K, Q5+,J6o+,T7o+,35o+

From the blinds I just reraise TT+,AQs+,AKo+ and such. I complete with a bit too much crap in the sb I think.

Is that good for a loose goose retard style of playing vs bad weak/tight opponents? Should I ad or take away anything?

Some examples of hands:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/171005 <- wtf I should’ve bet flop. That way I probably could’ve gotten away from this but that’s probably result oriented. Would he call me with anything worse on the flop?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/169471 <- wtf I’m weaktight should’ve bet turn. What do I do if he reraises? Push/fold? My had look a lot like a overpair but on the other hand it’s still a crappy hand vs a range of monsters :/

Any ideas, comments and whatnot appreciated.

Pretty Decent Day by JonnyCosMo, April 07

I'm honestly thinking that the weekends are just too +EV for playing poker. Tonight I went out to dinner with Lyric, Mango, and their ridiculously super hot super model friend Mogen (like omg omg omg?) So we went to some ghetto place in Oakland to get some Mexican which was really good and while drinking a Corona, it hit me and I told Lyric "God damn, this is soooo -EV eating dinner with you, like wtf, the games are just too juicy." Came up $1200~ Here are some hands from my session this afternoon:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170792 - Pretty standard snap call on this aggro donk.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170796 - Poor sooon2b was just getting molested with such bad luck at all my tables, he seemed a little tilted while making this call.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170797 - It's fun to play against people who constantly make bluffs that make no sense. Thanks for the moneys AA-pete-AA!

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170801 - I run infinitly good against sooon2b. I totally 2 outted him on the turn, but was unable to extract max value. I love his turn check here.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170804 - This guy is buddy list material. Thanks for the moneys you station!

Had a couple tough hands as well...

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170805 - I probably deserve this.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170806 - I still suspect a little robbery since this guy was a very aggro player. But I can't do much about it.

Here's a random pic for you guys, you could say I've been knocked off my feet?

Some FT's back to back nights by Jamie217, April 07

So I decided to play an MTT last night b/c a couple ppl had requested I make a vid of an MTT. So I did and came in 7th in the first MTT I had played in over a month for about 700 or 800$..Not a lot but it was ok. So today I was playing kinda ugly in cash game so I played the 22R&A and FTd that for 3rd place and just under 2k. I felt like the play in these was just horrible. I felt like I was a little rusty in my MTT play but still found both tournies really easy. The 50$ I was crippled when a EP limp/called my raise w/ KK then CRAI on the flop and showed up with AA. Im not having a great start to April in ring games though as I am only up about 1BI in 200NL...But I am sure that will turn around soon.. GL at the tables

happy easter...not by sooon2b, April 07

I got wrecked pretty hard today. It was very exciting seeing the games so juicy, and I really do think the games are starting to get alot better now. However, I got slayed. Nothing really went right, and I played pretty bad as well. I decided to take a shot at some 2/4 FR because the games seemed pretty good and I wanted to switch things up. I played 4 1/2 6m games and 4 2/4 FR games. Heres my stats from today's session.

http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/4170/apr707tn2.jpg

I dont think I was really on my A game today, but I dont think I played too terrible. There were certainly some questionable plays though. Here are some hands from the session.

This hand was vs JonnyCosmo. I think this was a fairly easy fold. He is never really bluffing here, hes never value betting JJ or TT. He pretty much has QQ or AA here every time. Not sure why I called. I talked to him about the hand after and he said its not that easy of a fold, I really think it is though.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?976689

This hand was against a moron. I didnt have any solid reads yet except that he was floating really light and limp calling a ton. I figured this was a very easy push on the turn, but in retrospect, I think it was an easy fold. I thought his range may be fairly wide, but now I dont think it really is. I though he might be calling with some worse pairs+draws. Shoving the turn just allows better hands to call, and folds out worse hands like fd's or pairs + sd's. I really think checking was best here, especially beings I had position.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?976693

Now for the lame badbeat type hands.

This one was pretty standard, and lame nonetheless
http://www.pokerhand.org/?976709

This guy is clearly braindead
http://www.pokerhand.org/?976713

This is against the moron from a hand above. I think this was an ok fold, maybe not?
http://www.pokerhand.org/?976715

Im a moron, Jonny has me beat here every time. Not sure why I called
http://www.pokerhand.org/?976718

This guy is clearly braindead. I dont know what he was thinking, because he certainly did not have a read. I sort of wish I jammed the river, but didnt have the balls to. Who knows, the way I ran today, he may have called.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?976721

This is the only pot I won over 50bbs today. I thought I was dead on the turn, had no idea what to do. I guess I got lucky? Not really sure. No way I can fold turn though... Guess I hoped hed fold a lower flush or something? Whatever, thank god hes an idiot.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?976730

I am debating whether or not I want to go out tonight. It has been snowing 2 days straight now, the roads are most likely really shitty. I really want to play more tonight, but I am not sure how well I am playing. I guess I will go out. Hopefully kim, cari, emily, and some alcohol will cheer me up. Peaace

No Poker but shitty ex GF by PplusAD, April 07

Okay , i didnt play any poker the last 2 days though i actually planned to play at least 900 hands a day.

The reason for not playing poker is that i have problems with my Ex GF. We split up on 17.January 2007 and i played severel sessions just after both of us had shitty phone conversations.
I felt depressed and my heart was bleeding but i still played Poker .
I realized that i am lying to myself and to her by agreeing to still being friends. And this makes my heart bleed.

Results were devastating - 170$ in 4 Sessions at NL 10
which was almost 2/3 of my Bankroll that time.
I tilt so fucking much when i am depressed due to my Ex Girlfriend.
I just tend to go all in with nothing all the time to just watch myself getting hurt even more T_T (like Emo people cut their arms i bust real money to make myself suffer more when i am allready depressed)

I swore myself to not play Poker the whole day if i should ever have heartache after a phone conversation with her again.

Good thing i managed to keep with this rule

Problem is she has a new Boyfriend now and is still phoning me all the time saying she wants us to stay friends and then she tells me lots of stories about her new life which simply annoys me to death but i cant tell her.
And she doesnt realize.

It goes like

Patricia : Hi AD , how are you ?
AD : Hm , nice to hear from you but to be honest i dont feel that great. I mean my life is okay but, hm i am still missing you so much. [especially the Sex only]
Patricia : Oh , i miss you, too. You still mean so much to me.
AD : Thx , nice to hear [ i like when girls say that to me]
Patricia : Sad thing is that it dindt work out so well with us in the long-term , but hm it simply dindt work any longer
AD : Yeah , i know we both have to deal with it though its still kinda hard for me [ not having sex with you anymore sucks and acting like being your friend while you suck at everything else but sex hurts myself, too]
Patricia : did i mention i ll go camping tomorrow with my new Boyfriend and some other friends.
AD : Oh you have a new boyfriend ? [ fuck i am jeallous cause i know you ll rock him pretty hard]
Patricia : Yeha he is stupid and all which fits better to me than you did. I hope this doesnt hurt your feelings [ I hope it does ^^]
AD : It hurts [ to know someone else is banging you hardcore while i am not] but i have to deal with it T_T
Patricia : hey did you know that [ insert rnd uninteresting stuff that lasts for at least 30 minutes]
AD : why do you tell me all those things instead of telling your new boyfriend [ unfair ! he gets the sex i get the shitty stuff]
Patricia : Hey ,we are still friends ! and friends are supposed to be able to talk about such things ?

So what depresses me is that i somehow still miss her body so much but know our relationship is over and i wont have sex with her anymore . But most important = i simply hate my new role .

SO the other monkeys have sex with her while i am the one to listen to her superboring stories + i wont have sex with her anymore + she tells me everytime she gotta have fun with other boys.

I lost everything that was worth the relationship
(Sex, Warmth, Kissing , Sex, Blowjobs ,Sex,cuddling , Sex )
I still have all the bad things that annoyed me in the 1,5 years we were together. ( phone calls , listening to boring stories , realizing she is dump as fuck , realizing she has so much money without having to work for it wheres i am so poor compared to her ^^ and lots of other tings)

Problem is i somehow still cant tell her to stay out of my fucking life.
LOl i hate it so much and I feel so shitty after almost every conversation we have.
maybe its cause i cant say it in her face that i simply dont want to be friends with her when being friend means i have to give without getting anything back.

Hm i made a first try today by sending a sms to her saying she is an ugly slut and i dont want to talk to her for the next 3 weeks.

lets see how things develop

Okay this was a superboring story itself
http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/4052/kissrs3.jpg

I hope i am in the mood to play some Poker tomorrow

200 nl day by Big_Rob_48, April 07

So I played 200 nl again today....

Things have been going really well so far there. I think I should probably just stay there. The thing is I know I am running extremely hot. I also know I haven't hit a cold streak. No KK vs AA, AK vs KK/AA... I won AK vs TT all in preflop today....I just don't know how I will react when I do hit a cold streak. I'll probably be posting one deep in the red soon enough, so we'll see how it goes.

omg a winning session by SneakrFreakr, April 07

So I finally had a decent session and I'm slowly getting my confidence back. I got really unlucky a couple of times (not just 2 outers and stuff but horrible flops in reraised pots etc) but I kept playing good and I finally started hitting and getting paid off. Had loads of marginal spots, made probably quite a few bad decisions but overall I’m quite happy with my game. I was really focused most of the time, didn’t make any stupid, retarted fancy plays etc. I also won a nice 400bb pot and also my KK > villain’s AA . I might not be able to play tomorrow as my dad is visiting me cause it’s easter or sth. I’ll probably hand out with him for the whole day. I haven’t seen him for a long time. Anyway, here are my stats for today:

http://img502.imageshack.us/img502/5222/222qu3.jpg

And quite a few hand histories:

1. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170604
Villain was a 59/14/2.07 retard after 350 hands and he was betting 50% times on the river. It was probably a bad call anyway. All I’m hoping for is a split.

2. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170606
Quite a retarted spot, villain is the same as in the above hand. Turn check is ok? Should I check behind this river? Prolly should’ve just folded to his raise. WTF can I beat?

3. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170608
No read on villain but I still think calling river is reasonable. Thoughts?

4. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170609
I had no idea what to do in this spot. Villain was like 33/2.6/0.29 after 40 hands. Now I figured that raising here was the best option. Obviously QQ has got some showdown value here but raising makes it much easier to play this hand. I made a stupid calldown instead.

5. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170610
Seriously, someone please teach me how to play unraised pots??

6. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170611
Nice 400bb pot. Wasn’t sure how to get the most out of it. Figured that a big raise will look cool and he’ll think “zomg he’s not raising like this with a set, my AK/AA is good” and so he did. Ship it!

7. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170613
I think it’s first time ever my KK > opponent’s AA. Best part is his chat line before making the call. I think I should’ve just shoved the flop as it’d look less fishy. Ship it anyway.

8. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170614
Villain was a 59/13/2.2 donk with 50% bet river factor. Finally I used this stat in the right way. Max value, holla.

9. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170616
You might say that checking this flop is ridiculous but it is so dryish that I’m getting called if I bet here maybe 20% of the time. I wanted them to catch sth on turn and someone with trips would pay me off anyway. Likey?

10. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170619
This is the hand against a guy that I stacked in a 400bb pot. I think he started tilting a lil bit. Any way to get more value here? He was like 20/14/3.65 and 3betting quite frequently.

11. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170623
At that moment I had no stats on villain. Should’ve just checked behind on turn with my FD + gutshot as it has a lot of value but I can’t stand a check/raise here.

12. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170624
I’ve got a lot of trouble playing “TP good/middle kicker” type of hands when I raise PF and villain bets out into me. I tend to get into passive calldown mode. But on the other hand raising turns my hand into a bluff, right? I mean maybe not a bluff but weaker hands (except for OESD or FD) are folding when I put in a raise. But maybe it’s a better option anyway? Ugh I hate my line here.

13. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170625
I luuuuv these donks.

14. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170626
I think I got the max value here (might should’ve bet more on turn). I made a smallish (less than ½ pot) bet on the river to make it look like a bluff, scared bet and get raised by a missed draw or to get called by A high, TT/JJ type of hand or a flush that hoped I’ve got overpair or missed draw. Suprisingly he called me with just K high.

15. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170629
Villain was a 70/40 lagtard that was overplaying his hands all the time. I think I played it the best I could (he’d probably fold to a turn bet) and I made him put in his whole stack. Too bad he hit his 5 outer. Shit it… noooooooot (Borat style j/k).

16. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170639
I played it sooo passively but I wanted to let him just hand over his chips to me. I could’ve bet flop and I’d probably get his stack anyway but I’d lose value if he had nothing. Raising his overbet on turn would look really fishy so I just called with an intention to shove any river card. Payback biaaatch.

17. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170640
No stats on him as pahud was fked up for a few mins but I saw him overplaying mediocre holdings all the time so it was quite an easy shove on the turn.

18. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170642
Max value I guess.

19. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170643
I hate you Lee, I fkin hate you! Oh sorry, it was Party, not Starts. But anyway, if the flop was T high or lower, I’d stack that 84/6/1.3 donk for almost 200bb.

20. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170645
Villain was new at the table so no stats. All I’ve got to say is: lol? By the way do you think river call was correct against an unknown in a long run?

21. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170648
I was very happy about the way I played this hand. Based on his action and timing I put him on a very narrow range and sized my bet so that it’d be the max he would call. And so he did.

22. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170652
The guy that 3bet preflop was quite laggish so there was a good chance that he was just squeezing (especially since I was raising a lot and the other guy that called was a 50/10 type of retartd). When preflop raiser checked I figured that I’ve got him beat 90% of the time. I was playing for stacks with 50/10 guy but if Nitro_Tyr pushed I’d consider folding.

23. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170654
Likey? Villain was 60/13 type of guy that likes to bet river. I figured that he’s betting Jx anyway, he’s probably folding lower pairs and I could get a bet from him if he had a flush draw. Unfortunetaly he decided to just check behind. Was also thinking about smallish bet to induce a raise. What do you think guys?

24. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170656
Teaser on a turn but river fked me eventually. Pretty standard.

25. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/170664
Likey or not?

lol I just realized that I posted 25 hands from a 1,5k session. Lots of them are quite basic but I’m looking for input on all of them as I think I’ve got a lot of problems in some basic situations.

Just to fill space by PetrBlaha, April 07

Last few days I was still trying my best to learn and beat NL25 6max easily. Finally I've start to gain some small edge and I feel that soon I'll be able to crush NL25 6max easily.

Yesterday I've begun to clear dreampoker bonus at PokerSavvy, it's really easy bonus there to get. Only problem is that one has to play it at NL50 at least. So I've jumped there and realized I should REALLY play FR there because I won't be too confident playing SH games at NL50 yet.
It turned out to be great boost to my BR (as I thought). In terms of +EV it would be best for me to play FR but I intentionally don't want to because I just want to learn SH now...so my BR has to wait a little bit

Anyways, I'm now somewhere about 950$-1000$ and it looks fine. I'm happy with my progress and small BR boost

I <3 my life by DustySwedeDude, April 07

Reasons my life pwns:

- Since august when I put 50 USD on partypoker for the first time I've won about 14900 USD, which happens to be more then 100 000 SEK. That's kinda nice compared to getting B+ on PGT while playing BW.

- The birthday girl from my last post apperently broke up with her boyfriend.

- I seem to finally beat NL200.

- I got myself some really nice clothes this week.

- I have some really good friends and I like my family very much.

- I've decided to get healthy and eat better.

also: April so far:

Big session, little progress by Chase, April 07

I havnt been playing much these past few days, just cashing out like an idiot and slowly bleeding my roll. Anyways: Today i four tabled a 1k hand session, which is like 3x the amount of hands i normally play in a session. It went well, i played grreat, but ran pretty badly and finished off the session only +1 buy. Still waiting for paypal to get my transfer so i can buy PT, but here was my basic stats:

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 993 hands and saw flop:
- a total of 177 out of 993 (17%)
Pots won at showdown - 21 of 41 (51%)
Pots won without showdown - 146

kinda card dead, i usually run @ around 21%vpip
anyways,
a couple hands:

JJ, checked turn, tough river call.
i dunno if this was a spew or not... villain was a donkey, also pretty hard to get away after checking the turn Just thinking too quickly i guess. my bad.

TT vs a TAG

This was the prolly the hand i played the worst today. Comments on this would be appreciated, i might post it in hand discussion if i dont get much response here. anyways, Villain was a nit with a rly low pfr (why i didnt 3bet pf), i some how got it in my head that he had QQ or AK. thats why i didnt pop the flop. Then on the turn obv he had the K so i just tried to boat up without doing the math. Maybe its not so horrible after considering implied odds. Sure hes a reg but i rly dont think hes folding the str8 if the board pairs. But yeah, basically another brain fart. I need to work on putting 100% effort into every decision.

I didnt really have any big winners in this session, just tonnes of small/med sized pots. All super standard, no use posting.

blah, anyways, on to the cooler of the session:

QQ gets pwnd

obv such a small sample size means nothing, but i think im going to stick to playing just 2 tables, my winrate seems to be a million times better when im just focusing hard and getting strong reads rather than just auto-piloting a bunch of tables.
