Huge Reality check today with my lesson with NOLAN. He said most of my play is fine and such but we went through some hand histories and mental stability, and focus were huge leaks in my game. And also tilt. It was embarrasing to say the least but I think it will make me a better player. I played a session few hours after my lesson and ran great. Here are some hands from the session.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/194901 - Probably a poor turn call with such a strong line but i figured he raise and decent ace out of the SB was playing 43/25
Yesterday I received a phone call from a friend telling me that tonight (or lastnight) a 'Poker-Night' was going to happend. I immmediatly said yes cause even when they are my friends, its easy money
So we were 9 people, $5 entry each for a total of $45.(Later on a friend went busto and rejoined by paying another $5 for a $50 prize in this winner-take-all.
50chips for each player. ($5 USD is 50mexican pesos, thats why we start with 50chips) Blinds at 1/2 and when a player gets eliminated blinds raises to 2/4, 3/6, 4/8, 5/10, 6/12 and the ultimate level was 10/20.
I was playing tight and was just studying the table. It was basically "Limp Poker"... I was playing tight and had around 46chips. I limped in with pocket threes (3-3), 5 more friends did the same thing:
Flop was 3-J-J giving me fullhouse. I was sure nobody called with J-3 so I had the best hand although I did now that I was going to get a call from AJs or KJs.
I checked the fullhouse. Player next to me went allin with 20chips. Player next to him called with pocket fives. I pushed for an extra 30chips. Pocker fives folded.
So It was KJ vs 33 in the 3-J-J flop. I obviously was happy with that... until the turn came. Turn showed a freaking KING!!!! omg I was down to 30chips after that and was a little bit dissapointed.
I didn't go on tilt and just waited for the good hands to come. I doubled up later and increased my stack to around 70 chips with KQ against AT in a K-8-J-x-K board. Then I was dealt pocket sixes in early position. Blinds were at 3/6 at that time so I pushed (lol me). Shorstack with around 40called with JQspades. 2nd in chips called me with pocket sevens. Chipleader called me with Q4 (lolol).
Flop was T-6-2. OMFG sweet :D turn was a 3 and the river another 3 so I made a fullhouse and increased my stack to 260chips.
A few minutes later we were playing 3handed. Blinds at 10/20. 2nd player in chips with around 80 chips pushed the shortstack and he called. I folded a 5-7 there. Shorstack showed a 5-7 lol! 2nd in chips showed AK:
Flop was 4-A-6 giving the shortstack an open ended straight draw. He didnt get his straight so he went out.
Headsup TIME!
I had around 300 chips and my friend around 200. (500chips in play). Blidns still at 10/20. I minraised with T2o in the button and he called. Flop was like 8-T-4. I pushed with my top pair and he folded.
Chip count: me 360 vs 180chips aprox.
I got dealt T2 AGAIN two hands later. blinds 10/20. I was the SB and I limped in. He minraised me. I called.
Flop was 8-T-A. I checked. He pushed allin. He is a very loose/aggressive player and likes to bluff a lot. I thought for a while and called. He showed pocket sevens and I was dominating the hand with my Tens! :D
T2o vs 77.
Flop: 8-T-A
Turn: 6 giving him 4more outs.
River: 8
OMG IM fucking doyle brunson now, T2o ftw! :D
So i went home with the $50 prize and a big smile in my face. I love playing live poker. weeeeeee :D
Well, I've manged to donk off half my bank roll now... good times.
Situation was this: its Monday, I want to go build my roll at NL5. I find the games infested with weak-tight nit-tastic regulars (yes, I know its NL5, but they really are there). So I tried to think how to beat weak tight players.
and after I had been hammering the table, got some of them to play back at me and made some sick calls, making very good money. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/190083
basically I tried to represent every flush to push them off their over cards, raised over their c-bets with air on dry flops, and folded if I didn't have 2 pair of better to beat their overcards. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/194727
Okay so finally i started to run shitty as hell ...
I was doin extraordinary well at the 2,50+25 SNGS $
and so i started to play the 5,50+50$ SNGs today when my bankroll reached 130 $
played about 15 SNG 5+50 $
and managed to go up to like 170$
I felt like : YES i rock this so hard i finally make money out of poker.
but then a sick bad luck streak started
I lost 11 All in Hands where i dominated my villian.
Things like AQs vs KQo he hits a flush on the river ....
Just LOL.
It was basically the same scenario everytime.
I was chipleader some shortsack goes all in with like
A9 i call with AK and he hits a 9
one hand later i get 10/10 .... another shortstack pushes all in .. i call and get beaten by 10J casue he hits a jack.
then i am a shortstack myself -> get AJ push all in and get called by AA T_T
I was chipleader in most of the SNGS call a shortstack -> have the better hand and lose -> become a shortstack myself -> push in and get called by AA KK QQ ...
I just felt like quitting Poker cause it was so annoying that i wanted to destroy my Computer ...
But then i realized -> wait i am still up a good amount of money compared to when i started on Everest 5 days ago.
So i just took this day as a typical worst hand wins vs me day ...
And i ll try again tomorrow.
But as usually I am too ashamed to show my nittiness. Time to go to bed now. Tommorow I'm going to pick up my results of the IELTS exam and then (despite the results) I'm gonna get drunk with my friend and a bottle (or two) of whisky. So I won't have much time to play tommorow but I'll try to put in about 1k hands.
Also I'm downloading like 50gb of tv series right now. Six seasons of Sopranos, four seasons of Nip/Tuck and first two seasons of The Wire. Next week I think I'll go to Scotland for the weekend to visit my father. It takes like 9hrs to get there by train so at least I won't be bored with all my new tv series.
Well i didnt update my blog for a long time. This is going to end right now. I spent last month plying less poker than i hoped. But i runned really awful for the first part of month and my feelings were far away to write something. My bad luck changed drastically at the point when i reached 1700 BR and switched my stake to NL50. Althought i played just like 5k hands, im up 1000$ and feeling great:D .Going to invest some of my money on coaching. Looking up for lessons from Joeik and maybe some from IDDa. Hopefully i grab some new ideas and improve my game.
Im going to make some videos of playin NL50. In czech language for try. Maybe sometimes i make video in english. I really think, this is gonna force myself to play my best game and because im just 4 tabling lately, it has no downsides.
Stats for NL50 so far on Empirepoker (without like 1k hand on Betson poker).
Another sick day...
Instead of building a bankroll, I'm 4 Buy-Ins down after my session.
Hopefully my luck or my skill change soon. (in best case both)
so i woke up this morning to drive back home to portland, only to find my car stolen. Just finished meeting with the police to report it stolen. Bad beat anyone?
Losing session = Me happyby DustySwedeDude, May 17
I had a feeling that NL200 on unibet was getting harder but after this session I'm pretty sure that it's back to normal again. Here's the two of the biggest pots I played:
I figured that this play was pretty good by me even though he called me because that's basicly how I'd play AQ-AK and QQ+. The fact that he called me anyway, especially on the flop, just shows that he's a retard and that I'll take his money sooner or later.
With my $50 on Titan i've been having fun on mtts. On tuesday I came 2nd in a $15 $6,000 guarenteed freezeout for $600 and today I placed 4th in a $10 $1,500 guarenteed freezeout for $160, the hand I went out with sucked, he called my allin on the flop with K (8 kicker) high against my A (Q kicker) high to catch an 8 on the turn. I can't find how to post Titan HHs, anyone know?
But yea i've enjoyed playing the mtts, been a nice break from cash games and the players seem to be even worse.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/194001 Def KK,AA here 90%. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/193975 Honestly i was thinking about folding flop and pf, i rarely see him 3bet with qq and then push on flop. Read too many Don't flop KK PF. I was 70% sure he had AA. Open push in multiway= AA. out of 5 hands he had qq, he had a chance to 3b twice but didn't so... and one of the two handsm orginal only min raise flop.
Not a day to remember for sure but i was only down 3.5 BI; Won some of it back during the late part of the session.
Please give me some advice on my mistake hands.
Tilted more hands but just don't want to post too many .
Tomorrow is when i have a heater. 1+ heater a week .
Erm, So I havent really played much poker at all in may. I spent my first days of the month hung over and pissed and after that I left for USA so most of the poker ive gotten done so far is during the last two days Ive been home.
I really wanna put some more time into playing and hopefully I can motivate myself to play alot the following weeks. Right now, being jetlagged kinda helps. Feels like the games on party are softer during the night so ship it.
Results so far:http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/5072/pokersw8.png
My vegas trip is finally becoming reality. If everything is going as planned I will go there from 21st june to 3rd july, living with cosmo, sixpeppers and some other dudes I dont know yet. Its going to be massively baller.
Milestone Hand and 30k hands per monthby Sheitan, May 16
Ok i needed a target, it will be 30K hands per month for cash games (+2,3 donkaments each day). I think it's easily reachable, not putting aside other activities. Bought PT yesterday so i can monitor how i am doing everyday, that program is fucking awesome and doesn't lie to you like all poker players do about themselves, if you suck you suck. Period. Sometimes im surprised cuz i think i put up a good session and when i look at PT, i realize it was shit (playing too passivly, calling too much etc ...).
SOooo, today was a pretty bad session as you can see:
Deck was colder than a canadian chick's ass. The only time i got something playable was 2 pairs in 1k hands, got some action with a fish and he hit top 2 pairs on river, gg me. So i was bored out of my mind folding hands for about 1 hour and a half and decided to quit. When i was about to leave all my tables, one of them would freeze, the others were ok and i was like wtf ? Then massive people joined the table and started spamming shit, i realized it was the milestone thing event and went AI PF with A2o, lost to K7o and got credited 100 bucks. +10BI earned in that shitty session was fine IMHO, gonna play some donkaments tonite and see what happens.
