Marathon session by SakiSaki, August 21

Just finished a 7-8 hour long session, probably the longest ive ever played straight. I started off dropping about 3k the first two hours, worked it back up to 6k profit and the last hour I got completely fucked in the ass and ended up only 2k+. I guess I should be satisfied with showing any profit but Its really anoying to loose 80/20 all ins over and over.

This hand kinda sums up the end of my session.

Afternoon session by NeillyJQ, August 21

I fired up the tables at NL25 this afternoon and put in a nice session, and managed to win some. The session went really well til the end where some retards caught gutshots oop and so on.

I'd like to make a detailed summary but the WSOP ME starts in 6 minutes, gotta run.

heres my stats from todays session;

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 1399 hands and saw flop:
- 99 out of 199 times while in big blind (49%)
- 36 out of 191 times while in small blind (18%)
- 126 out of 1009 times in other positions (12%)
- a total of 261 out of 1399 (18%)
Pots won at showdown - 24 of 47 (51%)
Pots won without showdown - 125

Higher stakes, new donks by Kapol, August 21

Hi,

NL50 was a nice adventure - 12.95ptBB/100 after 25,5k hands. I withdrew enough money for August and September (at least I hope so) so now it's 30-35 days of BR building. Because of my great winrate on NL50 i decided to move up 5 days ago. Throughout first three days I made a lot of mistakes and forgot that it's all about EV, not about money. I constantly looked at my balance while playing just to see how much I'm up or down. One bad beat and I was tilted, to much to continue playing. Hopefully on the 4th day I braced myself up to play like on lower stakes. I won 3,5BI yesterday - enough to be +0,5BI on NL100 overall.
And, as ought to be after yesterday, today arrives. Arrives with a bunch of pretty ugly bad beats. That was a test of my mental strenght and I passed it with a good mark, that's sure.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/255395
Last one is my favourite. It's against a guy who played every hand and had no clue whatsoever. For instance, he bets pot on each street to show a missed FD, and the very next hand he check/calls after flopping 2 pair against a guy betting pot on each street with KK. Pure genius. I decided to make a move and...
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/255397

Even with all these beats I managed to win $20 today so I'm very happy. I'll prolly play some more later so if you like to see the flop w/ T5o for 15BB, fell free to join me. Maybe you'll suck out on me too.

Cya

P.S. From now on I hate Todays.

EDIT: Oh yea, almost forgot. Today I watched redargoe playing on Stars. This guy totally owns NL1k and NL2k 6-max.

New Start by jchanhm, August 21

I kind of wish there was a way to delete all my past blog entries... Ah well.

I busted out on the free $50 at party, and busted out on the $50 that I got from referring 5 people, and busted out of the $15 that I deposited as well. I tilted out all the money that I got from titanpoker and vc poker, and I'm also down $200 at the casino when I went with friends.

I look back at the past blog articles that I posted, my 'bad beats' etc and I'm pretty embarrassed by them. I feel like I was just a kid playing around with money but having no idea what I was doing.

A week ago, I deposited $100 on pokerstars. I told myself that this time, I would follow Grot's 'word of advice' exactly, no matter what. Before, I read over it and I told myself I understood what he was talking about, and then modified it however I saw fit. Now that I've grinded at $2NL for a week, I realize that I was really just being impatient and overconfident in my skills.

Currently I am up 15 buy-ins ($30) at $2NL. I play according to Grot's guide, and the more that I do it, the more I see exactly why he said what he did. By following his instructions, I've learned more than I thought I ever would. I'm now not only winning more, but more importantly, I'm losing much much less. And since I've had so much success, I've gained a lot of confidence in myself. Bad beats are now entertaining, rather than frustrating. Even though I've suffered many suckouts, I haven't tilted once - I'm always playing my A game. So yeah, I think I'm on a good road.

Even though I have more than enough (20+ buy ins) for 5NL, I've set a goal to grind until I reach a $200 bankroll before I move up. It's a test of discipline that I've set for myself to prove that I have the patience to continue being a winning player.

I just wanted to write this down somewhere.

My current goals:

1. Make a $100 profit on Stars ($200 bank roll) playing ONLY $2NL, and then move up to $5NL.

Morning session by NeillyJQ, August 21

This morning I woke up and decided to take a small shot on NL50. (Had 18 buy-ins when I woke up for NL50) All went pretty well, started off having a sick cooler hit me, but after that I got into a little groove and finished the session up nearly three buy-ins.

This session was a great confidence booster for myself, showing me that I'm playing my best and making good decisions. I'm going to be playing back down on NL25 for the most part since my roll isn't stable for the long run at NL50 just yet, but plan to be moving up soon.

Heres my stats from this mornings session;

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 704 hands and saw flop:
- 35 out of 89 times while in big blind (39%)
- 20 out of 84 times while in small blind (23%)
- 47 out of 531 times in other positions (8%)
- a total of 102 out of 704 (14%)
Pots won at showdown - 18 of 23 (78%)
Pots won without showdown - 71

And heres some hands from todays session;

vs Raziel2018 - This was my first pot of the day, was 50/50 cooler/mistake. Raziel opens in EMP & I call otb with JQs. Flop TPgK and call his flop bet looking to improve incase he has an overpair (which I thought was very doubtful). Turn gives me two pair, he check minraises me and I stack off donkishly. LP helped me realize how much his line screams set and I shouldn't have played it so fast. In the future, I'll just be flatting this minraise and re-evaluating the river.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/255178

Multiway pot - This was the best birthday present a guy could ask for. MP opens 3x bb, get a few callers, obv I call w/ AJs in late position. Flop the nuts, start to wonder if I'm going to get paid off, then everyone throws there stack in the middle.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/255180

vs edseleanna - Open 9Ts utg, (a play I make about 1/6-1/12 times UTG, depending on how active the table is). I get no respect and 3 callers, whats new lol. I flop bottom pair w/ an open ender and check into the scary board holding 3 diamonds. I turn my gin card and a shorty donks off for his stack which is just above a psb. I call this bet and my set holds vs his top two.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/255180

vs tatt2tony - I open QQ in EP and get a caller out of the blinds. He plays back at me, but just a minraise & I doubt he would play a seven or threes full like this so I just call. On the turn he makes another fairly small bet, and here I assume he either has a hand like 78 or a smaller PP and doesn't believe I have the overpair. I call again, assuming I get no value from any hands I beat here by putting in a raise. On the river an Ace comes, probably a card he thinks I have in my hand, so I value bet about 20% of the pot, the only bet I assume he will call with a small pair when the ace falls and he oblidges to the bet.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/255204

vs MILANAO - standard MP opens the pot for 1.50 and gets repopped in LP by this shorty. I flat IP with AK expecting to stack off w/ any TPTK here. I flop top pair and when he donks out I figure hes on QQ or AK, maybe AA/KK but I'm not folding to him since hes shortstack and I assume hes a bad player because hes a shortstack. So I flat and on the turn he shoves the rest in. I insta-call and river an ace to beat his jack-hi with top two.

birthday song goes off in head*

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/255208

This was a nice session and a confidence builder like I said, and although I'm rolled enough for NL50 (21 BI), I'm going to stay on NL25 for atleast another week or so.

I'm happy to have done well in this session, and am feeling much more confident for next week when I start NL50, knowing that its dynamic fits my game better than all the other limits.

GL everyone,
Ryan (DReaMe)

11,611 FPP til SuperNoVa!

PS - I'm going to start saving my FPP's for the $650 bonuses now instead of entering the FPP satelites. After getting 2nd in a vast number of 1st place only $216 ticket tournaments, I'd rather just take the sure money.

best day, biggest pot etc. by SneakrFreakr, August 21

So today I had my best session ever (wtf with the rake at nl300?!)

http://img110.imageshack.us/img110/2052/besten8.jpg

And my biggest pot ever

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/255143

But yesterday I had my worst (or 2nd worst) session ever while taking a shot at nl400

http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/9396/worstmw1.jpg

Swings are pretty big but oh well. I've been running pretty bad for the whole month except for today. I wanted and should've played longer today since I'm running hot but I wasn't focused at all after some time and was making mistakes plus I got tilted because I got disconnected from the poker client even though my broadband was working fine so I figured it's better to quit right now, right? It happened when I had 3 semi-major pots going on so I guess I lost between $100-$300 because of it. Seriously such stuff tilts me more than rivered 2 outers. Emailed support donks and we'll see what they say.

I'm gonna stay away from nl400 a bit more. Till I get a 15k BR or so. I'll have to withdraw like 1,5-2k in September probably but I feel like I can totally crush the games I'm playing at the moment so rebuilding is not a problem. Right now my BR is between 13-14k. Sth about 13,5k I'd say.

I'm probably going to the seaside for a couple of days on Thursday so it should be pretty fun. I'm gonna have broadband there most probably so if the weather will be shitty I might play some nl200 HU on FTP.

I'm also trying to drink a bit less cause I feel sort of like a degenerate. That's why I'm passing on a party which is today in the evening. Too nitty?

I'll probably play a $100 freezout this friday (10k chips) at a local pokerclub, depends on how I feel. I think my MTT game is getting pretty good, even though its Oldschool T.J. Cloutier style but whatever it works for me.

Fighting the good fight. by NiagaraPoker, August 21

Grinding 25 NL is not something I thought I would be doing if you asked me a few months ago. I was a 2/5NL and 5/5NL regular at my local casino.(The Fallsview Casino, Niagara Falls.) I was living off of poker for months and banking money. Life was good and I had a bankroll floating from 12k-15k. Then I hit a bad run like you read about and went broke.
At first I did'nt know what to do. Money came so easily beforehand. I have a few friends that I could borrow from, but its my personal opinion that you don't play as well on someone else money and it just causes stress and problems that I don't need. So I sucked it up and got "real" work for a month and a half. Payed some bills/debts and deposited $400 on Full Tilt on the 4th of August to grind hard.
I tore through NL10 with 8.5BB/100 and in less than a week I was up to $650 and playing 25 NL. I currently have played 19,000 hands at 25NL and $909.57 in my account after a roller coaster 2k hand session in which I was down 7 buy-ins at one point. Ended the session up 1 buy in, and that felt damn good. It's a little degrating to be playing for a fraction of what I was playing before, but every time I feel that way I turn on the Rocky Soundtrack and it inspires me to smash donks all the way up to my former self.
At this rate I will be at NL50 at the beginning of September and looking upward. Playing full time and if I run well I think I can get to 200NL by the new year. So to all you kids who are grinding hard keep up the good fight.

I also have a thing for blondes. So heres some added inspiration:

YEAAAA!!!!! by DustySwedeDude, August 21

So I moved in into the new appartment with some friends a couple of days ago. I had never really seen one of the dudes before because I've only known him over the internet but he turned out to be a really cool dude, a bit shorter then me and overall teh pwnage. The other dude is actually a girl, there's a funny story about how I meet her involving too much beer in me, me telling her she almost like a man, her accusing me of being a fag, me deciding that I have enough beer in me and randomly put beer on girl and like 10 try-hard faggots who tried to kick my beloved ass. Anyway, despite that she gave me a beer for my b-day a few days later and since she managed to have sex with one of my best friends while I was still hungover I figured that I should probably consider her a friend and whatnot. And she has better personality then boobies so w/e, I just pretend that she has a dick and if I ever feel homo I just think of said penis and go all "ewww, that gross" and everything is fine again. Both of them are really cool and I pretty much love'em both so far. Everyone is helping out with everthing and there are a lot of booze in da house.

Havn't played much poker because I've been busy and the internet is working so-so but I'm up like 200-300 USD on NL100 since my last post and back over 4k. I'll play a few more hands on NL100 and then I'll play whichever has best tables. I've been thinking a lot about my life and what part poker should play in it and I think that I've maybe been a bit to dependant on it the last 6 months or so. I really like playing poker, but despite that I should probably try to consider it as an extra job or something, try to make like 4k or whatnot/month and live on that even if I really think I could try to move up more and do good at decent levels. Right now I don't feel that the need to play higher then like NL400 or whatnot so I'll try to get a good BR for that and then try to stay on that limit as long as I can.

Poker is great, because if you play your cards right you'll not have to worry about money, but like an dubble edged sword it can really fuck you up too. I'm not a baller or even close, but I've gotten used to a lifestyle involving spending a little more money then most students and go like "lol, it's just a big blind/bi/bad bluff/whatever" when I see something I want and the latest months fuck-ups and really scared the shit outta me. I really don't want to go back to eating dry fucking pasta 7 days a week and only drinking cheep ass beer so basicly I'm really determind to get the poker back on track.

So at one of the places we stayed at I got up pretty early because I was having trouble sleeping (in Alaska it stays light outside during the night for a good portion of the year)and I decided to go out to our rental car to get a book I left in there. So as soon as I walk outside I see this.....

ZOMG A FUCKING MOOSE!
http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w177/TimDawg888/AlaskaJuly2008198.jpg

Sick thing was the moose had its calf with it, so it was probably going to charge me if I got too close.

Keys locked in the car by tilted fish, August 20

Today was a bit adventurous. I decided to go shopping which I do about once a year (for clothing). I have a big bag of gap on the passenger side, and I get out on the way home to get some milk, and as I am parking and turning off the car, I call a sushi place to order so by the time that I am done I pick it up.

Well my ability to multi-task is as good as Hellmuth's composure after a suckout. as I switched off the car and hang up the cellphone I lock the car and get out and close the door.
FUCK! I realized when I turned off the car I took out the key and put on passenger side momentarily to pick up the take out menu paper I had in my car.
I feel like a tool.

I find a phone# for towing company in the parking lot of the marketplace, and they tell me it takes 45min, (sure when they are townin its lightning fast, when its about to help some1 its 45min-1hr.)

So I just circle about my car and the only thing I had going for me was that passenger window was less than 5 open.

so I go into the store look for something that can hook the lock up, its no good. come out and go after the trees.

I break off few branches, and leave some edge on tiny branches on the main piece wood to hook.

I could reach the look but could not pull it up, no matter what I did, then it comes to me, why go for the lock when the key is there!

So I am trying to use all the gaming exprience i have to hook the tiny branch on the mail piece of wood to the key ring on passenger side.

This parking lot is outdoor and its a village type of thing so its busy, so while I am doing this I am getting all kind of suspicious looks.

but I finally manage to hook it and bring it up to the window and get the key. at this point I really felt like a genius, hero of the day.

I had my sushi just now and things worked out well. now this fish capaneo wants to play HU so for now peace.

What am I DOING?!! by Verbloten, August 20

I have been working in Melbourne the last couple of weeks and i spent every single night playing poker at the Crown (home of the Aussie Millions). They have these tables which are computers and you have an account with a swipey card. It's much like playing online except you are with other people and can look at them and talk to them etc which adds the live element. I had an absolute ball the whole two weeks. Didn't have a single losing night.

I Put $80 in my account on the first night. Left with 743.05 but had cashed out at least 100 for drinks etc during the two weeks. As i walked out of the casino i put the $3 into a poker machine and bet MAX. Got the feature first hit and scooped $100. Total profit from the adventure would have been close to $1k playing 0.5/1 NL. Not bad i think!!

I've got money online at Interpoker. I put $800 on there at the start of the month. Got down to about 680 and then tried their casino. My wife and I have been playing their dastardly poker machines every since. So when i got back from Melb the wife and I played the pokies and got my balance down to about 600 after ups and downs.

The wife went out to the shops on the weekend and I ran it down to 500 going nuts. Then i put another $50 in and played my favourite poker machine (slot machine). I started betting $2 a hit and suddenly the best guy you can get on the machine comes flopping down X X x X X - he's the guy that gives the feature and i got 5 of them!! I look down at the balance and it's $625 in one hit!! Damn that felt soo good!! I then continued to work that up to over 700 before i left. Balance on the site was like 1150 or something!!

We get it back down to like 1050 and i'm like WE HAVE TO STOP THIS - my poker bankroll was the biggest it had every been (approx $3500) and I thought NOW i start playing poker again.

But we couldn't stop. So on Sunday night we played again. We hit feature after feature after payout after payout and all of a sudden we have 1600 on the site and my BR is a whopping 4125!!!!!!!

We swore that was it. Now i would play $100NL and try and make something of the poker. But last night we played again!! And before we knew we had lost about 300. Then I played poker and the wife went to bed. She went to bed when i had 1300 on Interpoker and when i finished my poker session (v short one) i had 1335. So of course i thought i will just play $35 before i go to bed!

45 minutes later i have $1130! I go to Pokerstars and transfer 170 across through Neteller so my wife won't know i just went and blew another 170!!! SO SICK

So my BR was 4125 and i was geared up for some cracking poker. Now my BR is $3655 and I'm spewing as even if not having a crack with a "free" 4 buyings for $100NL i could have done 8 x 50 buyin sngs or even more! AND to make matters worse I don't know if I can play poker while I could go play slots at the casino!

Bright side... sort of.. my highest ever BR was just below 3500 and i currently have 3655. I've made $330 on Interpoker and only played a few hundred hands!

I asked them to ban me from the casino but they can't - it's linked and they would have to ban me from the poker too! So sick! When i played poker last night it was kinda boring cause i was winning like only 8 bucks per table etc for 45 minutes work and even if i won a $50 buyin it would still be peanuts compared to what I win and lose playing those stupid fucking slot machines!

HELP!! Ahaahhahaha arrggghhhh

can it be done? by TheTrees, August 20

My original goal was to reach $4,000 before I moved back to Tally. I reached that a few weeks ago and set a new goal of $5,000. Currently i'm $200 away with 1 day left...

beat: I haven't packed at all for my move.

Anyways..I found some videos on another poker site (not to be mentioned) and I was suprised at the quality. Probably the best poker videos i've seen to date. I used this and changed up my game a bit and I can see a drastic improvemet. For one i've loosened up my raising range on the button/CO big time. Basically raising anything sooted and anything slightly decent. The players are so weak that it's helping me take down a lot of blinds and if I do get involved in a flop my c-betting / reading skills are i'd say pretty good so that small change has definately been +EV for me. Another play i've added is the squeeze. I've honestly never heard of it before I saw it on the video. What an awesome play, it works just about every time if done properly. Finally i've just been light 3betting more regs when they raise from the CO/Button.

I wanted to get some feedback on this hand I had vs a decent regular. He's around 21/18/3 and was light 3betting me in the blinds A LOT and I felt this was a decent spot to 4bet. Obviously with this hand if he had called and I didn't hit a miracle flop I would slow down. Here it is:

Flop pot is $39, I had $38 and I prefered open shoving rather than raising to let's say $20. I felt I was getting a good amount of FE on this A high flop. His range here is more than likely AA-TT and AK/AQ (probably only suited). KK-TT he's going to pitch and since he called my 4bet I expected him to have AA/KK/QQ. So i'm getting him to fold 2 / 3 of the time here. If he happens to call my 4bet with AK/AQ..I still have 8 outs. I think it was a good play...any input would be nice.

I leave you with some music:

My very first session by voodoouser, August 20

Ok as i already told you i'm a new player.
I never played a real money game in my whole life and 2 hours ago i tried and i'm proud to show you the result of my very first poker session
http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/8985/90966321mj7.jpg

Of course i will NOT post every time i play from now but i just wanted to write on a rock my first time.
I'm happy i've not lost money.
I followed the Liquid'Meat&Grot (thank you Milzo) advices&rules but made some mistakes i hope i'll never do again in the futur like "i already beted too much on this hand to fold now".
I learn...

Things i noticed:
- a lot of people are very bm and like to shit talk just like in BW
I saw a man claim he has two As during a hand (and it was true). Another one almost always said "noob" in the end of each hand.
- Playing on only one table is boring, i ended playing on 3. I tried 4 but it's still too much for me right now.

I'll post a summary of my next sessions probably next week or a bit later to not pollute the blogs with my noob craps.

Crazy day of poker by Gawuss, August 20

So today I decided to play 2k hands since I don't do that often. It was one of my longest poker days and also one of this craziest ones The action were turning around all the time, I was down, I made it back, then I lost 400BB pot, then started to win something back but I tilted - nah ok, maybe not tilted but lost some money, cause one guy were pissing me off so fckin much and he bluffed me X times when I got a really good hand, he got nothing and the board looked really ugly. So here are some hands from today:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/254672 - he said he had QQ with a heart

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/254673 - great flop

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/254676 - it's a sick hand, even though he had 80% VPIP after like 40 hands(ya I know that's nothing) I just couldn't put him on 74

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/254677 - is that a standard or maybe I misplayed it ?

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/254679 - cooler -_- I'm down 200 with AA today, damn

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/254680 - I hate myself for how I played this hand... I should've folded on the flop

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/254681 - geez...

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/254688 - I don't get why did he play it like this, I mean pf, flop and the turn...so weird - maybe cause he thought I was tilting and had nothing ? hmm..

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/254691 - I just felt something wrong there and wanted to call so bad but just couldn't because of being down few buy ins

EDIT http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/254713 - what do you guys think about this hand, he said he was bluffing but I'm not sure
, I have him on 40.4/21/1.3 after 114 hands but it was at the beggining of the session so I didn't have that many hands on him. Maybe I should have bet something on the turn ?!

And here is the graph:

http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/1227/graphqf4.jpg

and the stats:

http://img368.imageshack.us/img368/2/statshn6.jpg

Actually I'm up like $39 today, PT lies sometimes

I'm happy that I managed to win those 4 buy ins back
Good luck to everyone, don't let fish tilts you ! Amen.

http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/9523/63429394wi3.jpg
Right now i just dont know what will happen to me. Will i lose everything or will i be able to understand how to play properly and win?
Who knows? I hope i own some hidden talents
I've read the "how to start" lesson written by Liquid'Meat (http://www.liquidpoker.net/information/f/193614/1/Titan_Poker_-_How_to_start.html) and will follow his advices.
I'll play carefully and only good hands.
A friend showed me how to use poker tracker so if you want to see my progession come back here i will oftenly post my stats (only if i dont lose everything of course).
I planned to play an hour or two this evening.
All advices are welcome.
Wish me good luck.

LAWL Blogaments by Luna_Bluffgood, August 20

Why does a mediocre NL50 player need a blog you ask?

Well, dont ask me, but it seems like everyone is writing one these days, so I'm going with the flow, or swimming with the fish if you will.

Anyway, I thirly enjoy reading some of the blogs, I guess you could say im a blog fetischist. I regularly read blogs of Negreanu, Antonius, greenplastic, muddywater, Bryan Townsend, kaibuxxe, and ofc the ultimate blog of Ryan "No Doubt" Daut (ty for that awesome nickname Vince), plus some blogs to see how everyone is doing atm, like midian, twisted, muhweli, Artanis.
In short, I read a lot and dream about the day i might play for such sick amounts

So since I enjoy reading them so much, I thought i might enjoy writing them as well, and maybe have some other people enjoy it. I'm no byrnesam, but I'll try to keep it on the funny side as far as possible.
I don't like bad beat blogs, so I'll try to avoid them (unless i get a really sick beat you know -_-)

You might be confronted with the occasional brag post, but come on, that's pretty much what blogs are for anyway.

Another reason I like writing is my love for the english language. I'll try and use this blog to further strengthen my english and make up for the horrible english a lot of german people have.

Expect more information of me coming in soon.

P.S.

Here's a little treat for you lovers of suck, resuck, reverse domination, or whatever you wanna call it.
