after a 1k session of 25nl fr today, i decided to give 6max a try again. i started with 3 tables, then added 2 more. i finished up a little over 1bi after 1.6k hands. graph + stats:

i hit my peak (+4bi) even after running into 2 set over set hands. after that i started spewing a bunch and ran into a few more beats. overall i thought i played okay. the spew really pisses me off, but i think 6max suits my style way better than fr, so i'll keep at it for at least a little while longer.

after 2.5k hands, i still felt like playing. i decided to ss 200nl hu, that went well.

Hello,

This is my post after really long time because I find blogging boring and I don't like to brag, but I want to have this saved for future reference as the worst run in my life

Life was good basically, I enjoyed this summer very much, went to Thailand for 3 weeks and it was the nuts Maybe I will post some images later...

I also bought new computer since I've been running good, and things went well and I thought about taking a shot at NL400 with $15k bankroll. This is what happened :D

Can't really complain all my draws hit and I keep coolering people left and right. life is great. My girlfirned just told me she is pregnant but we can't get married cause my doc just sent me a letter told me I have AIDS Im not sure if I should battle that or my cancer when I got out of jail.

I started the morning off entering alot of tournaments, which didn't pan out well when I lost all my buy-ins without any cashes.

After starting down around $100, I decided I was ready to move up to NL50 and start grinding there again.

The day started off bad, as I lost 2 more buy-ins hella fast. Things eventually turned for the better though, and I picked up what I lost and then a little bit. ($100 Tourney fee's + $100 start of session)

I finished the day up 1 buy-in, as I was coolered on the last hand of the night to take me from up 1.5 buy-ins.

Key hands I played today;

vs Jabba_Rules - I raise my AA from the blinds and pick up a caller on the button, figure him for a pocket pair or strong sooted hand. Flop comes 338, I cont bet and get minraised. Right now I'm figuring him for top pair which has 2 outs to beat me or a pocket pair, which has two outs. So I flat and give him a chance to hang himself on the turn, figuring if I bet he will instafold. He checks behind, and I trap a little more on the river. He does what I hope and donkbets small to get value from any AK/AQ and I repop him something that could be a bluff (6x reraise).

vs debaggage87 - limp my 22 behind an open minraiser and get reraised from the button. I'm priced in so I come along. Flop my dream flop and work on getting Wannie37's money since hes deeper and conceal the strength of my hand. debagge87 will have none of it though and repops to get all the money in. I beat him in w/ my set and he rivers a boat with Q3. sick.

vs articcats - I haven't played with artic before this hand but had watched him play a little before this hand and had him figured as a TAG player. He limp reraises me PF which sends alarms off in my head that he probably has AA, but I call anyways for set value and incase he has AK/smaller pair. On the flop he bets very weak and I call, still suspecting he could have AA. On the turn he open shoves when a queen hits. At first, it looks like theres nothing I can beat, cuz if he had TT-AA, I only beat JJ, but I scroll through the hand histories and see him raising the last pot, and he was involved in the pot before this. With this now added to the equation I make the hero call with KK to beat his AT.

vs Cardhu24 - Limp in my small PP and get raised by an OOP player. He makes a very stiff raise but gives me appropriate set odds so I come along. I'm quite sure he has an overpair here when I spike my set, so I reraise strong trying to rep a jack that doesn't believe his cont bet / other pp. He instantly ships the chips and I call to beat his AA with my set.

I'm inclined to call and don't catch a heart, whoops.

On Saturday I started the day off on the cash tables and ran fairly bad, losing a buy-in after about an hour, so I switched it up to tournaments.

I spent around $60 in entry fee's and managed to get 229th in the 45k Gntd $10R, losing QQ vs AK when a king hit the turn after all the money was in.

I was fortunate enough to make it deep in the 5k Gntd $5 tournament held though, and got 5th place for a score of $380, a 20% increase in my bankroll.

Feeling confident from todays events, I've decided to dedicate today to tournaments as well, and start the grind back on the cash tables tomorrow.

Im proud to say ive been playing what is probably my best poker ever the last week. Im so comfortable 8-tabling 3/6 and I feel I have a big edge over most of the field.I have been putting in longass sessions and have been able to sustain a modest winrate even though ive been getting assfucked by variance time and time again(just look at some of the hands ive recently posted.)

A partypoker update fucked with my pokertracker stats since they display all hands to happen 01-01-1970 gah! I did manage to repair most of the damage by some awesome pain skillz.

In two hours im flying to my hometown to be, Kalmar. I didnt manage to get a temporary place to stay so being the baller I am im staying at a hotel for a week.

This got massivly TLDR but whuteva.

So last night i went to the university annual ball thing. The theme was "oriental obsession" which i thought was fairly fuckin retarded since 95% of the uni is asian.

I was taking my flatmate (girlfriend #1) but i get a text from the american exchange student who wants to know if she can ride with me (stud life son) - so i get 2 dates kinda.

There was a pre-ball party at the student bar. I order a beer and specify "Speights" he gives me a "Tui" and although they are almost the same i cant help but think hes a fucktard.

It was confirmed when i returned to the bar and he looks at me and goes

"What do you want? Speights?"
"Yeh Speights"

He gave me another Tui - learn to fucking read.

I saw him later at the ball and he tried to strike up a conversation with me but i was like NAH SON - GOODNIGHT

On the bus there i spent the whole ride enjoying the paraletic chick 2 seats ahead of me. All that effort for a ball dress, getting ready and buying a ticket - then she doesnt even make it out the pre-ball party.

I arrive and got a fortune cookie (original) which entitles me to 1 free beer and 1 free cocktail. I also drink my dates beer.

The venue was very classy, right opposite a strip club. Had i known this in advance i wouldnt have gone with a date so i could fuck off to see some strippers.

There was a $100 prize for the best dressed man and woman. Naturally i had it sewn up. Unfortunatly it was all politics. They gave it to some fat old guy who came dressed as a samurai - i thought it was a formal ball, not a fancy dress party. Stupid douche. The woman who won was wearing some crappy looking chinese dress. I took a real chinese girl so i should have got brownie points for that.

Then there was some other shit and i ate some sushi and it got really boring really quick. The american girl bought me a drink and i had my photo with her and my asian date so i was pimpin huge.

I managed to get another free cocktail aswell, and was feeling pretty buzzed. Then i bought the american chick a drink in return but she copped off with some douche (possible beat? i dunno i dont really care about her but shes got massive jugs) So i drank my vodka cranberry then decided to drink hers.

We get a taxi home at about 11:30pm which is when the ball was picking up but since my date doesnt fuckin dance we might aswell just call it a night.

So i get home and i get a text from girlfriend #2 asking if i want to come to the city with her and friends. Obviously this is too good an opportunity to pass up, but first...

I have like 25 minutes so have time for a quick carpet lick and a happy ending. I also gave her the shocker lol.

Then my phone goes while im busy doing my thang. Its girlfriend #2 asking where i am. I tell her ill be down in 10 minutes. Finish up - send girlfriend #1 to her room - get changed and head out.

I get some complimentry beer when i arrive and theres people from my friends home town up to visit. One guy is a total cock but hes with his missus so i dont really give a fuck.

We go out to the city and its pretty good. My bladder almost exploded waiting in line.

We danced some and drank some sambuca shots. I totalled about 6 shots but only paid for 1.

My friend orders 4 sambuca shots and the bar tender lines them up. He gives my friend the little handset to enter his cards pin and the wire from it knocks over one of the shots.

He tells us it was our fault and we have to pay for it. Heres a dilema - pay like $8 for a shot that got spilt, or dont pay for any shots and go to another bar.

Nice one son. We argue with him and he pours us a new shot realising that he is infact a retard.

We take a taxi home at about 3am or so. On the way home i give a beautiful rendition of "Beautiful Girls" by Sean Kingston when it came on the radio as i cuddle girlfriend #2

We get home and people all drop out fast because unlike me they cant drink. sicklifeson

One guy still wants to drink a bit and have a ciggy and he kind of interupts me makin moves with girlfriend #2 but she says shes going to get ready for bed and she will leave the door unlocked so i can come back in 10 minutes.

She locks the doors (stupid twat) so i phone her and get her to come let me in then we head up to her room.

Beat: nothing happened. I was way too drunk but i gave her a cuddle as she was falling asleep, her parents were in town and she had to get up at 9am to go to breakfast with them - then i put my jeans back on and head back to my own place.

The sun is rising and theres daylight - it must be about 5am.

I left my keys/wallet/phone on the desk of girlfriend #2 so i go sleep in the bed of girlfriend #1 - and do the usual stuff to her.

I pass out for a bit, then girlfriend #2 bought me a subway.

K so randomly went to the mall and saw a fatal1ty set up with computers and flat screens.

So ofc I'm like OMGZ JONATHAN WENDEL X_O.

But i get down there and I recognize it's not him, but another pro gamer Stermy.

I dick around with the computers they have there and rape some other ppl who were there at the same time.

Then I hear, "Get in line to play stermy to get a fatal1ty motherboard and also a fatal1ty keyboard."

I thought to myself, fuck I need both of those pretty bad.

After watching him rape the shit out of ppl I knew my fate.

My strategy was simple, one rocket to the feet as he jumps and make him fly off the map. It was my only chance, his aim + him getting the Quad Damage = me Raped.

We were warming up for about 15 seconds and i managed to succeed in my plan. he jumped and i rocketed with perfect timing sending him to his doom. He quickly looked over and said "press f3," in his italian accent.

i was pretty confident at the time that i'd be walking away with a motherboard. At least I know he's fraggable.

Mistake #1 I didnt take the quad damage. instead i dropped down to get a RL for myself. only to find him jumping up to get it

basically 1 minute goes by of me running around like a chicken without a head while he has Quad Damage Up.

I manage to pick up the Rail Gun before him and actually hit him twice before i ate a rocket in the face.

He now has the RG, RL, and Shotty. FUCK MY LIFE...

:30 seconds left and I cant get anything. he gets a few spawn frags on me and I manage to get a few decent Rockets off at him, but he must have had full armor + health because they didnt seem to do shit.

Hello everybody

I am sure most of u guys know that nice little HeroesOfMight&Magic 3 game.

There is some Hero skill named Luck.
based on this skill your creatures have a % chance to either deal double damage or only half damage.

I really have the feeling that this applies to me on RL

Ive been running bad in gambling situations ( non poker related)for as long as i can think back in time.
there are 100rds of examples from being a 5 year old to nowadays where i am becoming 23 years old in less than a year

I think i mentioned my legendary losing streak concerning
the " Bayern los" drawing lot action.

every now and then me and my 2 younger sisters buy some "bayern lose" they have a 12 % chance to hit for 1 $ and a smaller chance to hit for more money.

However i am 0-23 and lost 23 euros on that
wheres both of my sisters are only down like 5 euros ...

ANother nice example was when 2 of my friends and I didnt learn for a university test. It was a multiple choice test.
you only needed 60 of 100 points to pass.
SO we decided to gamble
Both got 64 points while i had 58 .... T_T

Also funny story ^^ when i was 16 years old i was really horny on a specific girl. I was so in Love and i had a Boner 3 times a day ... just cause she turned me on so hard.
I finally managed to get her laid.
Or we better say , i managed to get her willing to let my best part give her pleasure.
Unfortunately i didnt get a boner this time ...
was so curel .... I mean u get your dream girl to a one night stand , tell her how you will please her and fuck her like theres no tomorrow ... and then suddenly as a 16 year old things dont get up ... LOL ( one of the worst days of my life this was : now i can laugh about it haha , but whatever)

Yeha , such situations where i have sick bad luck have basically frequently happend all my life .

I am used to it , so i am relaxed about that stuff and simply try to avoid situations where Luck plays a major part.

I simply have accepted that i have below average luck in RL.

SO why did i even start with Poker u may ask ?

there were 2 reasons

1. I believed in skill being > then luck in Poker
2. It was a challenge for myself. I knew from the beginnig id not run too good at Poker. But i was eager to show mister Jesus that i can beat his bad luck he gave me with my own ambition and hard work.

It was basically a test for myself.
can i make money though running slightly below average ?

And i realized i can
Whenever i ve made good money from Poker i run slightly worse than average but my skill was good enough to pwn low stakes though.

whenever i ve lost bigger money i run worse than hell.

The longer i played Poker the more i noticed luck plays a major part.
Not when u run only slightly worse than average ( u could still win good money then)
But when u run really really bad .. your skill does not matter.

SO everybody here is talking like :

In the long run luck is the same for everyone.

And this sounds reasonable to the human logic.

but how do u know ?
Just from my personl experience from Real Life this is not true.
Of course i cant give real evidence [ but u cant either]
Its just what i experienced in RL.

I and some friends are running really really bad in every RL gambling situation and some others friends of me are running extremly well whenever it comes to luck involved.
ANd this over a sample size of many many years.

Poker has been no difference to me . ( how was i expecting to suddenly run good in online gambling ? when i run incredible bad in RL non poker related gambling ever since i live T_T stupid me)
I have had only 2 gears ever since i started with Poker ( november 2006) ...
running bad but winning money due to edge and
running incredible hell fucking bad and losing money.

i ll take a brake from Poker.
dont know for how long ( i guess for quite some time)

I ll gamble off my last remaining FTP and qualify for some tourneys.

I Just think the thing with people running bad and people running good for the period of their entire life could very well be true.
Of course i think like 80 % of the people have about the same luck
but lets they there are like 10 % running far worse and 10 % running far better.

So I'm that guy that's been lurking around here for a few months or so, not really contributing much(as evidenced by the post count and lack of hands). But recently I decided that I should probably be trying to get better at poker, and this is the best site to help do that. So thus, I may be posting here every once and awhile.

The name is Bill, and I've been "playing" poker for about 4 or 5 years now. I've only been real serious about playing good poker recently, within the past year or so. I thought I was good, but in reality I was (and probably still am) pretty terrible. My first online experience came through UltimateBet, where a friend and I would deposit something stupid like $50, turn it into $800+, and cash out over one weekend. Ah, the memories. Finally I decided that I'd put some of my own money online and play by myself to see how I did. I would drop another $50 on PartyPoker and turn that into $500-600+ over a week or so. When PartyPoker shut down (what a terrible day that was) we moved over to FullTilt, where we've been for awhile now.

About a year or so ago, I decided I wanted to improve my game, and started reading all of the typical books. Honestly, I don't know how much they really helped. I've found that the books can only prepare you for so much, and that playing more hands was the way to go. So I started playing on FT, with no regard to bankroll management or what to play and lost a good sum of money (though not much compared to most of you guys). About then is when I started coming to this site, and has helped a lot. Reading hand histories, people asking what to do in certain situations, etc has helped me "play" hundreds if not thousands of hands without the risk of losing any money.

And so here I am. I feel like my game has increased dramatically from the olden days of hit and running Ultimate Bet. So,with my new found information I'm ready to start playing for real. I'll be depositing a couple hundred dollars somewhere and starting to grind while I'm away at school. I'm going to try and update this as often as possible, so the viewers at home can watch my progress (hopefully).

Here is what I've done so far on a small stake from a friend of mine:

Man NL10 is incredibly frustrating on FT.

So, will Bill be able to make it past the ridiculousness that is NL10? Will he be able to avoid going broke with flush and straight draws? Will he be able to play within his roll? Will he update his blog ever? Stick around and find out.

I almost quit my session earlier but had some sparks of a nice run start right before I logged out so I decided to stay on and keep playing. The session did just that and turned for the better. Before I knew it, I was up four buy-ins.

I got pretty tired at the end of the session and stopped catching hands after about 2,000 hands, but not before I managed a nice day.

Heres my stats from the entire session today;

- 58 out of 283 times while in small blind (20%)
- 139 out of 1529 times in other positions (9%)
