October is pretty uncool so far, i've been 2 outered and 1 outered quite a few times, i haven't played my best game during a few days where i lost quite a bit of money, then i started to focus more. I ran really bad but i guess i can never blame only luck since it's a game of decisions http://img250.imageshack.us/img250/7962/woohoowp7.jpg
so totally in a groove right now, my mind is clear and im playing great. I'm reminding myself of last summer and I think my results are backing that statement up.
Final 2 weeks of uni, so poker has taken a huge backseat while i madly rush around to finish everything. But when i have played i've been running good. In the last week and a half i've only played 3440 hands running at 17.25 BB/100
Doing my full year Information Technology Project. I'm the Project Manager for the group so i'm responsible for everything. We have 6 assignments due tomorrow ALL for that subject! We've been working non stop for the last week. I've done 100 pages of work already today So damn tiring.
At least our group is topping the class and i'm topping the group! /end brag
Hopefully when my assignments are all done i can get back to pokering it up.
Shit, just realized i have a mini test for another subject tomorrow Drat.
No I don't want a stake. This is a tech related problem post.
Recently my student house (6 of us in total) went from cogeco cable to Bell DSL. The problem with Bell DSL is that it is often times very slow - I'm talking like 10 seconds to completely (or even 1/2way) load a webpage, and 5-10 seconds worth of lag on poker sites. That means when I press bet, it takes 5-10 seconds for the site to register it. It basically makes it unplayable.
However at other times our internet is blazing fast - it's doing so right now. It seems to go either slow or fast for 6-8 hours at a time before switching to the opposite.
Does anyone know what is going on? I'll give you what I know.
1. Every computer (6 total) in the house feels the same lag or speed at the same time.
2. We have a router connected to the modem (obviously). It's a new router and we had no problems with it with Cogeco Cable (old ISP).
3. Today I was up at 7 am and online and the internet began to go from very slow -> very fast. It took about an hour to completely go through it as it was gradual. There was no noticeable even going on at the time (everyone else was asleep), so nobody picked up a phone, turned on/off a computer, etc.
4. Nobody is downloading anything at any decent speeds, so there isn't some 600 Kb/s download going on that's slowing it down for the rest of us.
5. We just got phone filters on all our phones and the problem still continues.
6. There are no noticeable wire shredding etc or hardware problems.
7. It is the same for wireless and through the wire.
8. We are encrypted with WPA encryption so there isn't anyone coming on and off on our wireless.
So what's going on? I have no idea and it's very frustrating to not be able to play poker at certain times because of the massive lag.
i can see 100nl's asshole from here lolby whamm!, October 18
hmmm 100nl at last! and this time overfuckingrolled! i cant help but laugh at my first post where i went back to 25nl. ill be playing 50nl up to the end of this weekend to reach at least a very solid br. ill do a conservative route and move down when i get a loss of 3bi for 100nl. anyway i dont see it being too much different from 50nl. i cant believe i survived the rollercoaster ride last 2 months.
Recent poker + a requestby KeanuReaver, October 18
October is going good, despite dropping over 2 buyins at NL2k. I've determined I'm just in over my head in those games, as much because my br isn't near big enough to support the games as the skill of the regulars. The difference between NL400/NL600 regs and NL2k regs is like night and day. I believe 10k a month isn't a terribly unrealistic goal at NL600 so long as I put in 20k hands but I've also seen I've got a ways to go before I'm ready to play with the big dogs.
As for the request, I'm looking for a tutor in Mandarin Chinese. As I'm already taking Mandarin at the local community college, I don't need someone to actually teach me the entire language, I'm just looking for someone fluent in the language to offer me a little extra supplimental help and gauge how I'm doing / what I'm lagging in or need to work on. Probably just an hour or two a week. I'm not fluent in the least bit as I've only taken mandarin for about a month. PM me if interested.
Had $10 in my account two days ago, played a $2 6max tourney, got 2nd for 350 or something.
played 2k hands of nl25 last night, won only 75 cause i suck at poker and spew money like a stupid retard.
worked today, got back to the dorms after almost going home tonight cause of fall break at school, played in like 13 MTT, moneyed in most of them, just won a $4 180 man and im on the final table of another one right now.
Deposited $100 on Rednines last week and played about 9,000 hands at NL10 and had the day off today so decided to move up and put in a lot of hands at NL20. Im not sure if it was a good day or a bad day, I got so many beats and coolers but managed to end up only down 1.5 buy ins so im quite happy.
so im a newbie/noob/nub and i am new to liquid poker..
dont know wth im meant to blog about when i cant even use pokertracker properly...or anything else?? i work in mcdonalds???...i study med in aus???...i have no money =(...i have dota skills..but i dont make money from that ...sigh
my ST goals are to build up a bankroll from $100... sounds pretty impossible or just snail like slow...
so im thinking about 4-6 tabling low stakes until i have $200 then play a few SNG and hopefully i make some money..
this is however...after i finish my report DUE IN 24 HRS OMFG....500words/2k zzzz
having a good start to the week... here are the good results so far:
monday night:
$33 11pm MTT - 6th of 378 for $510
$33 2am MTT - 3rd of 443 for $1,309
tuesday night:
$162 nightly 100k - 16th of 899 for $1,011
$77 6max MTT - 2nd of 231 for $2,749
i suck at final tables all of a sudden, i guess.
anyway, i've been feeling really good about my game the last two days, and i think a big score is coming very soon.
in other news, the sports betting season begins for me in a few weeks with the open of college basketball. myself and BJLTNYK are going to be making a killing... we throw ourselves into it wholeheartedly and do massive research, plus we're awesome. stay tuned to our blogs if you want to follow our picks and make some money yourself. we'll also be betting some NHL once we feel out the rhythm of the season, and a few select football games also.
I hate Party Poker 2/4. God its such a grind, it is impossible to run at a decent bb/100 on there. I really think the 100bb rule should be changed for cash games on the majority of these tables, it should be 300bb because you just cannot see a flop.
yesterday after another break playd ~1k session and it was mad fun. i just kept hitting and thx to a nice 2+2 guy with which i always clash at the table i was sitting with 3+buyin stacks at 2 tables cause i hit evrything vs him.
with some minor beats i ended up ~5 buyins.yay!
today playd 1k hands. was up over 5 buyins at a time. ended now pissed with +0,5 buyin. had 2 major beats für 240+bbpots which were avoidable but vs these players think i wouldnt play mucho different still.
1st me repop AA to 4,5 , idiot(had notes etc) calls.flop A48 2suited. i bet weak to get the idiot to raise.he just calls. turn heart but me nah fraid. bet weak finally he does what he loves and shoves his pocket tens midpair. i be happy and call. river 4th heart he has Th me lose and get mad.
2nd me call pp in bb after raise and cc. flop set,1 guy turns overset me lose big pot.
other smaller stupid shit (idiots calling with bottompair and make trips etc) killed my profits. now me pissed and stopped.
still good to see that if i dont fuck up big time or get huge beats i totally destroy these "players".some of my confidence is back. still i just cant stand it when i lose money to idiots.or huge hands beeing like bazibillion to 0,1 fav and lose.i get on massacre tilt and donk off another buyin then quit...
About nine months ago I quit as a full-time SNG player to become a full-time MTT player. After my huge score in the series I had several months to reflect on what had happened, how to deal with it, and what I am going to do for the next couples of years.
I've decided that I'm going to travel as much as possible and enter all of the events on the live circuit. I'll update this blog somewhat routinely with pictures (I know it's not fun to view a blog or any sort of online journal of an event without pictures). I hope to do my best and I'll keep pushing until I land a win in one of these live events.
