Almost.

Still have study week and then 2 weeks of exams to go.

But apart from that the normal semester is over so i am done!

Time to go and relax on the Gold Coast for a few days.

I also got offered one of the coveted Graduate Positions with a copany in Brisbane. Not sure if i'll take it though.

Might be able to get some poker in next week if i'm lucky.

Im excited, reached my goal and theres still days left before, gonna try to end at 25k!

Also I didnt feel like I run particularly good either which is nice, even lost big pots (NL600) to bad beats and so, and had pretty rough 3 losing days before today so its all cool .

Wish I play even more hands next month. October is sweet =]

poker at 50nl is going fine. cashed out 400 and then went on a heater to get to 1.75k. then some coolers etc and i'm now at 1.6k. so it's all good. hopefully by the end of the month with rakeback at 4 buy ins, i'll take a few stabs at 100nl.

on a sidenote, i go to uci and just applied for the study abroad program in germany. i'm gonna go to Georg-August University of Göttingen during my spring quarter so any german lp-ers holla!

The very same bigstack also won 77 vs JJ early on in the tournament and hit a Gutshot vs KK all in few hands before my hand ...

Now he sits there with ~ 30 K chips all due to his own bad play getting rewarded by suckouts

Jesus my brother and I cant win shit in the past 2 days, down 3k in buy ins Stars/Tilt/Cake/Ap in 2 days. Biggest down swing we have had in awhile I went pretty deep in the 10$ 10minute levels yesterday busted 15th ran into A/A with A/J and shoved in ep with Q/JD with 7 big blinds same guy who had A/A on the A/j busted me again with A/A

Then my brother had a huge stack in the 20$ r/a and got sucked out by a big stack/fish/.

W/e wish me luck in the I "think" new tourny stars added 20$ 6max deepstack, might be old since I usually play at nights but Im in it today.

Hi my name is Sean, and I’ve been lurking Lp.net for about 3 years now. I really enjoy reading the hand histories, and seeing people get flamed on a regular basis. A little about myself; I am 22 years old I recently graduated from SUNY Cortland (upstate NY) with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science as of May. After working at a sleep away camp in Maryland all summer I’ve moved back home with my Mom in Eastchester, NY, which is 20 mins from NYC. I am taking 12 credits at a nearby community college to fulfill requirements for Physical Therapy Graduate School.

Home life has been a lot different from College life. In College I lived in a house with 14 other male swimmer teammates. We would throw parties every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. At home its quite different most of my friends from High School stayed home and went to either a community college or got a full time job. Me, being 5 hours upstate and living a different lifestyle lost touch with most of my old buddies. Now I’m home and life has been a lot less entertaining. I recently got accepted into the AmeriCorps, which is like the PeaceCorps except you do projects all around America. I will be stationed in Denver Colorado starting February 4th for 10 months. Since I’ve been home I decided to really hit the weights harder than I do in the off-season of swimming because I signed up to Firefight in Colorado. So, I’ve recently started going twice a day 6 days a week at the gym.

As for poker, I’ve been playing for about 3 years not very much however; I’ve probably made around 2k from playing 25nl. But since I’ve been home and dead broke, since no more money from throwing parties at college I decided to put the little I have ($200) on poker. I’ve been playing .05/.10 9 tabling 6 max since the beginning of October. I’ve played around 20k hands, but today I hit a –6buyin downswing. If you look at my recent hand histories, you’ll see that I put my money in every single time when I was ahead, but was drawn out. Oh well, that’s poker but at least I feel as though I’m playing well even if I end up in the red for the month.

As for today, I played about 2 hours, and now I’m going to the gym for the second time today with a friend then going to see the movie “Dan in Real Life” or something… the one with the 40-year old virgin guy. Then I might go to the bars or back here not too sure yet. But I will try and keep this blog updated if anyone is interested. And I will post some pics of myself shortly since I think it’s nice to have a blogger with a face. So stay tuned for that shortly

up 3k at NL600. mix of running good, good setup hands, and what i felt was some pretty strong play. i played a lot tighter than normal though (something like 24/18ish) as there was much less opportunities for isolation raises and my position vs the good regs suggested i should be looking to play less pots vs them (and more aggressively when i do choose to play)

then i go +1k in flips vs raidan, owned wut
then he hustles me out of 1k by playing me hu.

it's weird how even though you have an enormous day, if you end it poorly it still feels bad. hoping for 15k month for october, if i can duplicate that for november and december i wont have to choose between PCA and new car.

So another winning day with a HORRIBLE end was up $190 and the BOOM DOOMSWITCH

i lost 3 buyins in total coolers, then tilted off another 1.5 buyins in a stupid herocall cos i was on tilt. Cant believe it.

Still up nearly 4 buyins for the day so i really cant complain but im really pissed about the last hand i shud fold that 100% stupid herocalling donkey shit i am. Dont need to be making herocalls like that when im at nl25. It was like my vs flop or something and he overbet shoved in a 4bet bot. I put him on AK and donated rofl, OOOPZ. Should serve as a reminder to me not to be stupid and stick to my game though, its the first time in a long time ive made a real spew like that so its not too bad.

wtf, so I'm down like $10 to the casino cause I had no idea how to play 3card poker and wanted to learn.

I buyin for $10, bet $1 and fold my hand cause it was like 6 high.

Next hand I decide to bet $5 for some reason unknown to me, I get dealt a flush, fucking awesome.

But then I only have $4 so I can't even play the rest of the hand to see if my hand beat the dealers

So I moved $150 to rednines to, you know, hang out with the cool kids and see what all the fuss is about.

The software is soooo foreign to me. Seriously, on stars I am so comfortable with the software I can do 20+ tables of random shit easily. On rednines though, I'm struggling with 3. There are some weird buttons too, and the slider is much harder to use. Overall everything seems useable and not terrible or anything, but is most certainly going to take some time to get used to.

added note - How in the world can I change the software to a four color deck, it's killing me.

Alright, admittedly I'm just playing Nl5/Nl10 and some tournaments. Regardless of that fact though, Competition seems sick soft. People are doing a lot of things like limping AK and shit in multiway pots. This is admittedly somewhat throwing my game off, but people are also calling all three streets with middle pair and other ridiculous things. Maybe that happens on stars too, but I seriously never remembered that happening even at nl2.

Overall? Rednines kicks ass because of rakeback. I calculated how much rake I put into stars this month and realized that I could have made more from rakeback than I do at my job.

Well it started awesome, i went up to +$150 mega fast, stayed there abouts until right towards the end of my session when i got owned 3 times in rapido succession for 3 buyins. Thats poker.

Still running way below expected (for the session my expected allin winnings were 2 buyins below what they shud have been) but i finished up a cool +84 so i cant complain too hard.

Nice to have a winning session again, HUGE shame about the end of it tho.
