Hey all-

Thanks to everyone that took the time to read my blog and listen to my introudcutory bio.

My name is Gerard, from Paramus, NJ, and I currently am a senior at Fairfield University. (let's hope I can graduate )

I began my roots as an FTP sng/mtt player with my fellow buddy nutshot2 who we have seen tearing up the PS mtt circuit as of late. Our daily routine consisted of sleeping in til aobut 2-3 p.m., waking up and ballin' at our Recreational Complex (aka RecPlex) til 5-6, dinner it up in our disgusting cafeteria, then play a live 20nl cap game at our lounge in our Dorm, then end by 12 to play the midnight madness, while enjoying a delivered 5-5-5 deal from Dominoes (usually some cheesy bread as well). FTP had just a few thousand players at the time and everyone knew everyone. Those were the days...

Here I am now a PokerStars degen, playing regularly, and have enjoyed the Pokerstars scene for the past two years. I live with 3 other guys in a beach house in Fairfield. One doesn't play poker at all, my other housemate is ramrod525 on Stars, and the last housemate is the well-known an infamous POORUSER. It is quite the honor to be living with him as he is a great teacher and FUNNY person to drink with. Right now he is currently sleeping but when he wakes up to read this he will enjoy it

For the most part, I am still at a point where I'm constantly improving my game and hope to eventually build myself into a distinguished status. I have the advice and guidance of PoorUser and nutshot2 who I consider great teachers, both in their respective skills. I am a low limit sng/mtt player with a flawed passion for PLO (nutshot knows me best for that ) Anyhow, I will post any big wins or tough hands that I get stuck with. I look forward to reading all my fellow LP buddies blogging up.

Poker this past month was kinda "eh" I ran pretty bad so I thought. Tried to change things up and mix it around, i was able to keep it close but I was still - for the month.

I couldn't find this one hand but i flopped like a flush A high and i get an allin and this guy has like K high flush but then runner runner gets his straight flush rofl?

I mean i'm not complaining about it, more that i never knew people could run bad for so long. I'm consulting with better players then myself (basically everyone). Point is i'm not letting it tilt myself and just keep playing solid poker and eventually those EV+ plays i make will come around.

Thankfully being on Rednines i should be able to get 2500 points soon and i can cash them out. On a side note the main even for the upcoming UFC for evans and bisbing is fucking horseshit. Who the fuck cares. They are trying to make it more hype by having the winner fight rampage? why not just let rampage win now cuz neither of those guys stand a chance against him wtf... Give me machida vs rampage plz.

Last night I was playing 2/5 NLHE in Dublin. No other NLHE games were running, only two PLO tables. If anyone considers playing an EPT even I suggest playing multiple events and touring Europe, otherwise it probably isn't worth it. Anyway, in my 2/5 game last night GOD himself sat down. That's right, Lee Jones sat directly to my right. I introduced myself, we shook hands, and proceeded to chat it up. He was there for about 2 hours, and I have to say he is a really nice guy and it was a pleasure playing with him. I didn't even mind when he cracked my aces. I think I should have folded pre, but even against Lee it's a tough lay down.

lol i have 4600 in my br, and for the life of me, i can't seem to have the balls to take a stab at 100nl again after losing 6bi to beats and shit. i moved down immediately after that and now ive won back and won some of the money i lost last time and im afraid i might run into that bad run when i move up again. argh i am gay? what should i do? benoit myself? LOL


what im doing now is just playing 50nl on one site with consistent results and 25nl on another site with 300usd and i totally crush that limit in that particular site and i can safely say i can earn 2k just by playing 25nl there in a month.

Well, I've been playing NL10 for about a week and a half now and it's going well, if slow. I had a stretch of ~7000 hands where I was breakeven, which was frustrating since I can't play a whole lot (I work full time). I really thought my edge at NL10 was near 0, but I've started running better again so I'm getting some confidence back. Once I get in another 10k hands or so we'll see how things stand.

I've been trying out some other stuff for fun like SNGs and MTTs. Last weekend I played a couple of $1.10 and $2.20 MTTs and busted out, then played a couple of $2.20 sats to the Sunday Hundred Grand and won a seat, but I couldn't play because my brother needed a ride somewhere right about when the tourney was supposed to start. I unregistered and got the T$ though.

I played a couple of 9-man SNGs and a 45-man I think, busted out of the 45 and won one of the 9-man games but they were $1.10s so it wasn't terribly satisfying. Then I got into the $5 HU SNGs and played a bunch of those this week. HU is fun but frustrating when you run bad. I've had a streak where I run way better than I need to and crush someone, then lose the next by missing every flop of the match. I feel like I have enough of an edge that if I could just run average I'd be fine, but this overkill alternating with inexorable death is annoying. I suppose I shouldn't complain, at least I run well in some of them.

I really don't know what I'm doing too well at the MTT/SNG/HU play, but I think I'm learning. I have a positive ROI at all of them, though, so it's been going well so far.

Ahhh, while I was writing this I was in three $2.20 sats to this week's Sunday Hundred Grand and I just won seats in two of them (busted 16/36 (six seats) in the first one). I like satellites. Seems to be lower variance.

Now that I'm at NL10 I think I can make Silver Star this month, but I'm thinking of moving some of my roll over to RedNines once I hit $500 or so (hopefully this week). Rakeback would be very nice, especially since my bb/100 on NL10 is much lower than NL5 or NL2.

Maybe my stats are a little nitty compare to when I do 12 but I think Im gonna try doing 24 at stars. I didn't ran good at all(got set over setted 3 times[one for 400BB pot]! and lost 2KK to AA and one AA to QQ and one KK to JJ) But obviously I didn't ran bad either. nothing to complain other than that I was up 3400 at one point but then my GF came to the room and I lost my full attention talking to her tryin to decide what to do tonight which costed me around $800 in profit

Anyway I hope results like this keep showing up and 10k hands/day totally rules!

Ive not won much money the last week or so on poker and I think im playing fine, well enough to be a ~6ptbb winner at NL20. Today was just terrible, -$130 but I think im playing well, and I guess I just need confirmation from you guys that im just getting coolered

after my last hot run i decided to quit my job, cashed out 900 from stars for 3 months payments and moved 150 to rednines

rednines software is gay because it tilts me and i lost all probably like 300 to rednines casino games and have basically no money left there.

so gay

shouldn't have quit my job.

maybe i'll grind up some playmoney or something if i get hella bored

Last night I continued my stab at NL100 with a bankroll of $2400. Things started out well and then started to go very bad and I'm down 3 or 4 buyins before I know it due to a combination of coolers and not being able to fold AA/KK when I got hit by a set.

This didn't phase me at all. I'm completely used to dropping 3 buyins and then making it back and then some within the same session. In fact that's probably my most common pattern - get down 3 buyins, end up +1 or +2 buyins.

It then continued to get worse and worse until I was down over 7 buyins. However I was positive I was playing well, and that mostly I was getting coolered and outdrawn a lot, so I continued and promised myself that if I dipped below 1500 (still 30 buyins for NL50) that I would drop back down.

Fortunately I was able to turn everything around and end up positive for the night:

I guess when I get stuck, I get more and more determined to keep playing longer and make my money back. I'm not sure whether this is a good trait to have or not, but I'm pretty confident I play just as well, if not better, when I'm losing.

Oh, and that last downward spike at the end of the graph was so disgusting. There was a 95% VPIP aggressive fish at one of the 6max tables. It was him, and before long 5 TAGs trying to get his money. Unfortunately for us he kept getting lucky as hell and ended up leaving the table with 6 buyins! It was so disgusting.

Here's a couple of hands where I tried to get some money from him but couldn't keep the best hand. This is so disgusting because he would basically call ANY bet that isn't all in preflop, and almost always on the flop as well. Plus he bluffed like crazy both pre and post flop.

QQ owned by deuce four offsuit. And he stop value betting, which is simply insulting

So October is over and I have to say it was a really good month. The best ever month poker wise as well for me. Here are my stats and a graph:

My winrate is lowered by two HU sessions where I dropped like 4 buyins at nl100 and 6 buyins at nl200. The beginning of the month I ran pretty bad, then for the most part I ran really good (but not like god) and in the last 2 sessions of the month I ran ultra bad.

Apart from that I made 2,6k from rakeback so all together I'm up like 14,5k for the month which is really sweet. Before that my best month ever was like 4,5k or so. Three times more now. Ship it.

I also feel like I improved my game a lot this month. I think I need to work on my turn agression though cause my overal turn AF is lower than my river AF which isn't right I guess. I probably check behind on turn too often and don't double barrell enough. Any other comments on my stats would be appreciated.

I was planning on playing more in October but I was pretty busy in the end of the month plus my dad was in Manchester so I was spending a lot of time with him etc. In November I'm hoping to play about 50k but let's say that 40k is the minimum.

I went to two house parties in the last two days. Both were pretty good. The one which took place yesterday was really massive. 100+ people for sure and loads of free drinks etc. I was planning on going to another one today but I'm pretty hangover and tired etc and I'm a nit so I think I'll just stay and play some poker.

Since I had such a good month I wanna buy something for myself. I have no idea what should it be though. I'm not sure about the price range but let's say not more than 1k ($). Any ideas?


I just read about some Indian guy who is now the world's richest man. He's got like 63 billions dollars. Not too bad, huh? He's also building a one billion dollar house for himself and his family. 6 peoplez is going to live there but they're gonna have 600 peoplez as the staff, 27 floors and everything you can imagine. Baller or not?

My brother has denied my request to teach me 6max NL, he says its his weakest games besides heads up but he did offer 6max Limit hold'em his (strongest game) I love limit but its get boring quick unless its live.


Anyways if Accomplished player would teach me 6max for the course of a month I will offer 25% of my mtt winnings for that month passed on what opr says.

Im rolled to play 3/6 but I do not feel comfort in playing stakes that high (Im afraid 2 play MTT more then 50$ LoL so 600$ Buy In out window, I would like to start at NL 100 and obtain a solid W/R of more then 5/100 over the course of the month if I obtain that goal there will be a incentive reward regardless of outcome of my mtt play.

I think I can average 5k hands a day atleast 5 days out of the week if not more and I intend to multi table minimum 5 tables.

2 sessions today. Similar stats. I was hoping to dominate. Instead I won. So it didn't feel that great. Especially when a few sets got destroyed today. Tough to maintain composure when that happens.

the biggest problem is that the structure sucks in so many places. max buyin of 50bbs, r u srs? i guess they do it so the tourists have a fighting chance. idk, it's just awful and a big waste.

so i'm sitting there with 50bbs, unable to play any of the fun hands I like to play cuz stacks are short and everyone is stationy. out of boredom i pull out my new phone and play with it, the dealer tells me i'm not allowed to use my cell phone at the table. fine, so i strike up a conversation with the gentleman on my right. he decides i need to hear all about his sports betting. wonderful.

after losing a couple small pots, i have to listen to all the local 2/5 heroes berate me for stacking off 30bbs with QT on a T high flop after raising PF. i tell the dealer i'll brb, and i go to the atm. the ridiculous atm doesnt accept my epassporte card, so i go to sit back down with 20bbs. when i come back somebody is in my seat, which was golden because there was a big fish on my right. after giving the dealer several subtle hints about my displeasure, he makes the guy move.

i sit with my 20bbs and proceed to angrily open shove every few hands until i finally doubled up, and immediately choo choo downstairs where my friends were playing slots.
