| | Back from cashing out. by try, January 07
I cashed out 623.00 which was what I made in 3 weeks after my 50.00 buy in. I was losing a bit and got scared because I really needed money to stuff for apartment. I bought some fun stuff like a kareoke mic and guitar hero and stocked up on neccessities like grey goose and hennessy. lol
I know it was probably a bad idea because I could have made a lot more. I tried 50nl and it was so easy. But spending poker money is the best feeling and thats why I want to continue playing.
Maybe you guys feel me on this but If I put 10 hours at a reg job and made 1000.00 but played 50 hours making that same 1000 playing poker. It feels SO MUCH better spending the poker money I guess because i made it doing something I enjoy or that its other peoples money!:D
I really want to play again but I have no money to play with however I got my 58.00 rakeback from cake today. I grinded 10nl all last night....yes out of my bankroll!! **but come on its pointless to buy in with anything less then max buy in. What if i get AA on a hand? I want to get my value from it. Anyways after playing 2,000 hands some bad runs some good ones ...till 6.am last night. I ended the night at 120.00.
I am going to transfer to Prima now becuase of the gangster ass rakeback they offer. I'm excited I can finally use pokertracker as well. Wish me luck. I dont plan on cashing out this time. Hopefully by Feb Ill be back at 600.00 playing 20nl.
If you play prima leave me a post.

| | WTF Neapel ? by PplusAD, January 07
I just played a short session today since University exams are not far away anymore ... ( start next week on Monday)
So i ll only play a small bit of poker like 1h a day during the weeks and like 5h on saturday.
My short session today was some of the worst play i ever managed to pull off.
I dont know what was wrong with me ...
maybe its that i had to stand up early at 9am for university ^^
I am used to wake up at 1.30pm since i am lazy as fuck.
So i played like on drugs and dont even know why
I had the inner urge to just play the gayest poker available on the market.
may play made so totally no sense today .
i limped like 24% of my hands preflop no matter if it was AJs or 37o and then went wild on flops and turns without hitting just to see how people react on such stuff.
I felt totally stupid while doing this and it probably was major - EV
here are my preflop stats
http://www.tagesanzeiger.ch/media/images/321/329109.jpg
flop play

turn and river play
http://estb.msn.com/i/CD/A63450FF1B22A4AF152097B871B5C1.jpg
Then i managed to concentrate for a minute
and played actually decent ABC ----> lee hates that and i got 6 bad beats in 100 hands ...
went from +24 to - 40$ while playing decent.
Then
I started to play
"Neapel Poker" again and sucket out pretty nicely ..

| | LOL dropoutaments? by SakiSaki, January 07
Bah! I feel like dropping out of school again. I went back studying because only playing poker destroyed my sleeping schedual and just fucked with my social life in general. But now, Im starting to wonder if this really is better. Im studying journalism and it just bores the hell out of me. I feel that they dont teach me anything and school is just robbing me of time to do other things I would much rather do. There are tons of books I want to read that arent part of the school litterature, and I want to play tons of poker.
At the same time, I dont want to play poker for the rest of my life, I also dont want to start educating myself at 30 when all my classmates will be 20~. Another downside of dropping out is that my parents definitely will panic, and as they panic so will I.
I guess the most important thing I have realized in all this is that I really dont want to become a journalist, not like I have a good alternative but I just feel journalism isnt a profession that interest me at all.
Im 22 years old and I dont know what I want to do with my life. Surprise?

Well my first class starts in just about 1 hour from now...fuck going back to school is gonna suck.
Last year I learned a shit ton about poker and myself and I found that i was lacking in some departments (mainly being such a degen + lack of discipline). made about 35k + about a 10k br left over for 2008 during 2007. Not even close to as much as i should've made. Oh well, it was a fun and memorable year. wish me luck boys.
here's a pic to lighten your day.

| | 50 NL short session - sweet by devddd, January 07
This session had 2 key hands...
I would like any comments... Thanks.
Another 2 hr short session. I am getting tired at work, and i think i have to be much more disciplined with my play. I want to be in charge of all my decisions and not let emotions take over at the table. I have been reading a lot and trying to make my poker more effective and see the reason to now devote more time to other areas of life while balancing poker.

| | What a strange session by SashineK, January 07
I've just finished a session and looking back into PT to find some hands to post i found out, that i've lost only one big pot http://www.liquidpoker.net/hand/hand.php?hand=354437 and as you can se, it could have been much cheaper folding the turn as i should. This one was also kinda interesting, i thought about some overset for a second, but how could i fold such a small chance.
Nothing special... as you can see.... just pissed about the QQ hand, i knew he had it and i'm supposed to fold the turn and save 10$ for children in Africa.

| | Yesterday.... by SashineK, January 07
I had a short session yesterday, just a 250 hands, but i got a little pissed from one really big mistake. Anyway I shall post them and you can have a laugh.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/hand/hand.php?hand=354371 - no, im not stupid... but somehow i managed to overlook those fours on the board.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/hand/hand.php?hand=354372 - absolute classic these days, i get a guy to be involved in many pots and i have really agressive image, he gets a real hand, i hit the flop and shove cuz he has what he is supposed to have and i want him to call, he calls the flop and hits the river.com
http://www.liquidpoker.net/hand/hand.php?hand=354375 - i got lucky.com
http://www.liquidpoker.net/hand/hand.php?hand=354376 - sure i knew he had it, but how could i fold... i gotta get lucky one time. :o)

| | 10NL Session by LilDeano89, January 07
Hi again all,
So I played a session of 10NL today, consisting of around 500 hands total on 8 tables. I thought I played well, maximising value from my good hands, and not getting involved in big pots without big cards, which I feel is very important at micro stakes cash. I also got a bit of luck, which is always good.
Overall, I ended the session after an hour up 3 buy-ins, bringing my total bankroll up to $605.
Below are links to some notable hands from the session:
Hand 1: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/354218
Standard all-in pre-flop action with the cowboys
Was surprised to see in the history that this guy stacked off with AK...although this is a common occurence in higher stakes, at this level very few people do this.
Hand 2: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/354346
VERY lucky here However, at micro cash, in a pot not re-raised pre-flop, I'm happy to go broke with an overpair, such as here. Not often at this level will players slowplay aces like this, so I'm happy with my play.
Hand 3: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/354222
Tricky hand. Here's the reasons why I called:
1. On the flop, I'm not worried about a 6 in a raised pot (apart from flopped quad 6s) I'm in position, and have a strong hand here.
2. After betting the same amount on the turn as the flop, I figure he isnt happy enough with his hand to up the bet, so I'm thinking he's holding either a weak pair (2s to 5s), or A7.
3. While the flush completes on the river, I'm pretty sure he wasnt betting on the draw. Also, after being called on both earlier streets, I figure here is the time for him to make a large pot-sized bet, or shove, if he has the cards (trip 6s, flush, 5). I cant see him making a 25% pot-size value bet on the river with any of these hands. I see it as a blocker bet, so I call.
Hand 4: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/354225
I'm thinking I probably should have checked behind on this river.
Hand 5: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/354227
Value-towned his Top-Pair
Finally, I thought I'd let you know my plan for moving up to 25NL. I figure I will move up when my bankroll hits $625 (25x the buy-in), to allow myself some leeway if I run bad as soon as I start at 25NL. Hopefully in the next couple of days I can grow my roll to this level, and try out the next challenge.
Well, thanks for reading, and any comments on the above hands would be greatly appreciated.
Until next time, gl at the tables!

| | fucking nit fiesta at 50nl stars by whamm!, January 07
damn there are way too many nits here. i hate it. im nothing special here, we're all just a bunch of nits grinding it out exchanging coolers and shit . lolol
these are my favorite coolers:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/hand/hand.php?hand=354362
http://www.liquidpoker.net/hand/hand.php?hand=354363
ive lost like 2 big pots all coolers of course being such a nitty fuck like me it's really sick when you 4bet then he reshoves flop then I shout " fucking KK motherfuckerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" hahaha anyway here's today's session won like 1 1/2 bi coz i lost a little in the morning then won almost 2bi now after such a gruelling, boring session. played like almost 4k hands 50nl 24 tabling today. it's def harder to extract value from my sets now even vs overpairs like jjqq1010 even kk at times.
here's pt for today: 2nd session only since pt splits my day in two for some stupid reason.http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/406bdba0001567662296b2c073420c78.jpg

| | Resolutions and Staking by sooon2b, January 06
Heres the deal. Gonna play 100NL, and move up once I make 50 buyins at the current level. That allows me a lot of room bankroll wise which will help alleviate some of the stress. I will be focusing 75% on HU poker, 25% mtts. Every time I reach an increment of $10k I will be cashing out 10% of my roll at each level(1k at 10k, 2k at 20k, etc etc). I will only be playing HU poker on my money(as well as any other cash games I play, which I wont pass up if they are good, but I will not be focusing on my 6m or 9m game really as I feel my HU game is my strongest game). This leaves me with mtts.
I am currently seeking out a stake(s) for mtts. I will only play 55$+ freezeouts and any rebuys (i.e satellites for larger mtts). I have a few people interested, but am still looking at all options. My site usernames are readmyline for full tilt, and sooon2b for pokerstars. You may wonder why I am looking for a stake. The reason is that I really believe my tournament game is incredibly strong, but due to my real life expenses, I can not afford to play MSNL and mid-high stakes mtts. The bankroll fluctuations also become way too stressful. I have done very well for my past backers (netting them nearly 90k). If you are interested, shoot me a PM and ill get back to you. I have not made specific arrangements with any of the backers interested yet because they are both in different countries, so if you are interested and want to claim dibs on certain tournament schedule, get back to me asap.
Ok, back to HU now. So like I said, i believe my strongest game is headsup. I really think it would be wise to focus on my headsup game as it will certainly help my skills in all other forms of NLHE. I also believe the games are much much juicier as there arent too many HU specialists ive encountered that have made me believe I didnt have an edge. This doesnt mean I dont quit people thought. If I lose more than 2 buyins to a player that I feel I dont have a huge edge on, I will certainly quit them. Ill also quit if I become tilted. You may wonder why I am starting at 100NL. Well, I have cashed out most of my roll due to tuition, fraternity dues, etc etc. I had an unsuccessful shot at 25/50 HU. And lastly, I have never really had great bankroll management, and have played scared money in bigger games. I am starting this low to discipline myself, and to work my way up as my game improves. I have a separate screen name for HU poker that I will not be revealing. If you do figure out who I am, please keep your thoughts on my game to yourself and ill do the same. If anyone is interested in discussing hands and what not, hit me up.
As far as my life outside of poker, its been pretty meh. I have pretty much given up on dating girls and have decided to be a playa plaaaayaaa. I think im gonna change my major to business management. The fraternity life is pretty sick so far. Ive moved into the house now which is nice(and also the reason I am not gonna date right now ). Other than that, my life is pretty boring, holidays sucked, etc etc.
Ok, heres the goals/resolutions for the year.
Make at least 250k (mtts+cash+rb/bonuses)
Play 500k Hands of cash this year
Invest the way I planned earlier in this entry
Buy a new vehicle(probably toyota highlander hybrid limited, but still havent decided)
Work out at least 3 days a week
Eat healthier
Go to the world series this year as well as a few other live events
Do well in school this semester
if i forgot anything ill add it later.
cheeers,
Pat

| | 1st day at NL200 by sTrAtO, January 06
Today after the Sunday tournaments were over, decided to take a shot at NL200. Everything went well and felt really good, like if I was playing NL2. Its ridiculously funny to know (because I didn't) how many fishes get their money in with horrible hands
I'm gonna stay at 6max if things keep going well. I said I was going to give FR another shot but I'm having second thoughts lol ;P
These are my 6max stats so far in January playing a very solid TAG style imo.
http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/5320/6eneroptvm3.jpg
I must be in a heater. I don't think I'm going to be able to keep that bb/100 running that high for so long so lets enjoy the moment! :D
Here are a few hands:
(Green =I won the hand, Red=the opposite)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/354119 ---- AK vs KQ AIPF to win my biggest pot ever. $620 pot
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/354245 ---- flopped straight vs TPTK, $400 pot
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/354118 --- lucky fish sucks out on my AA with Q3s on a Q high flop. $160 pot
@ liquidpoker.net in spanish
http://www.tlpoker.la/h/302 ---- set vs TPTK. $400 pot
http://www.tlpoker.la/h/303 ---- 2p vs 2p. $340 pot
http://www.tlpoker.la/h/306 ---- 88 vs air. Trusted my read and induced a bluff on flop. $400 pot
Didn't post so many badbeats cause I don't want to see them again. I rather feel good watching at the hands I won and analize the beats later at PT.
