Dropped 2k€ in a horrid session. One bluff that didn't work out, QQ vs AK allin pf, a K-high flush vs a straight flush (he needed two cards), all for stacks and then a couple of bad spots where I had to fold the river after investing a lot to protect my hand from draws and shit when they hit. This really sucks since it puts me just barely up for the month (probably down if you don't include cashback and some donkament scores) and leaves me with about 10k € online. Therefore I've decided to play 1/2 for about 2 weeks and try to rebuild.
I'll also try to define what I want from poker within the next few days. I gotta decide if I'd like to keep try to get into high stakes or if I should be happy grinding mid stakes for a foreseeable future. I'm pretty sure I'd like to get my roll back in shape for 2/4€ and 3/6$, but I'm not that sure that I really feel the need to play higher. Will see.
I'm also doing much better in school so far this semester and that's really good, if poker doesn't work out I can always sell my soul thanks the law degree I'll get in a few years. I think it's important to take this seriously.
PCA Sucked. I lost CC Roulette like 85 times, Dropped like 5k in non-poker and somehow made like 6k in online/live poker but regardless ended the trip stuck like 5k from gambling. OH well. It was still fun cause I'm awesome and I make everything fun and I think I'm almost tan.
I'm looking forward to going to Sweden, London and Czech Republic this March and hopefully will connect with Pinball, Saki, Joe/Pulda, Twisted, TJ, F4ZI even though he doesn't know me cause I slightly hero-worship him, and some other random euro-trash.
Also gonna be around Foxwoods for the WPT that I think is in April or something. Maybe heading down to Borgata in a few weeks too for a day or two so if you're around let me know and we can drink beer and spew on roulette.
Cheers,
Sean.

To all you noobs dissing full ring nits and thinking you can't make more than 3ptbb, eat my balls.
i'm trying to transfer $170 from rednines to stars
if anyone wants to help me out it'd be greatly appreciated
i'll trade first but only reputable LPers plz
EDIT - nevermind, i just cashed out on rednines and i'm just gonna buy in on stars
I actually won some money in a session through hands where I played well instead of sucking out on people! OMG IT'S A MIRACLE!
I also sat down into a serious card rush and think I played pretty well. Weird session though cause despite winning I was still pretty confused most of the time. I've started playing 2-3 tables cause I've been tilting and spewing while running bad and I realized that I had completely stopped analyzing hands and situations with any sort of depth, and wasn't even putting people on hands.
Till this session I'd lost about 5 buyins over the last 5 days due to tilt, bad play, cold cards and many suckouts. Pretty much any good hand I did make (which was rare) didn't get paid off, and if someone did stick around they sucked out on me. The weirdest part though is that the thing that kept me afloat and allowed me to avoid a 10-15 buyin downswing was that I kept sucking out on people. I think about 85% of my big pots over the last 5 days I won by sucking out bigtime. That's pretty depressing and very strange to me.
Anyway, thanks to my insanely bad play the last 5 days I've started posting a million hands up, and making a lot of posts on the forums asking for help. Unfortunately these are my first hands posted in the Medium Stakes forums and the combination of so many hands and so many bad plays has created an Anti-k2o4 movement amongst some of the posters there. I apparently suck very badly and am wasting peoples time. Ouch.
But life goes on. Somehow I will find a way to live without their approval!
Good news is that playing so few tables has gotten me back into THINKING rather than spewing, which is awesome. Still have some Q's though and since I've already posted a million hands in the forumz today I figure I'll just post em here in my blog where the haters will have no reason to hate on em. Like always, help is much appreciated. All of these hands have the results cause I'm not in the mood to repost em - I posted em using the TL handposter tool while I was playing.
1) Like I said, I sat into a hot run of cards. I hit KK as the first hand on one table and like the 3rd hand on a second table. I followed the exact same line on both tables with 2 different results. I think I played them ideally but I'm curious if there's any situations where slowing down on turn with a smaller bet or a check is a good move. Here are the 2 hands:
2) I'm pretty sure this is a clear fold as played. I am curious if this is ever a flat call though... I often raise leads into if I have a hand or if I have a draw, or if I think it's a weak lead trying to push me off when I have air. So with an OESD + 1 over I felt like a raise was right here. I'm guessing everyone will call this standard, but I wonder if it ever makes sense to flat in this spot.
3) One of my early hands vs this guy. I later learned a bit about his bet sizes which would have made this easier, but at the time I was confused to no end. Assuming you had just sat with this guy, how would you respond facing this line?
4) I think I messed up here by betting the turn. Any weaker hand is definitely folding and I'm probably only getting a call here from like AJ, 79, a set or a flush. Checking allows 9T and 78 to draw and possibly pay me a bit more when they miss, and allows junk jacks to pay off a small river bet. I dunno, my standard is to keep betting but I wonder if I just folded out all hands that I beat with that bet.
5) Here I really think I made a mistake with the turn bet. I figure I need to check and give him the chance to make a flush, and if he has a set he'll get it in on the river with me anyway. Plus, I tend to check weak there.
6) This one is funny cause if he's telling the truth I just got him to fold the same hand as me. On the flop I go "HELL YES" and feel like I'd love to get it all in right there. But I decided to flat his raise and go for the CRAI on the turn... but that K does suck cause it boats it up and my only hope is the str8flu. Mmm, probably bad to CrAI there, but if he was telling the truth it probably worked out for me.
Thanks all for any help. Still learning here and know I have a long way to go. But I feel a lot of improvement so I'm happy despite being stuck between $5,000 and $5,500 for the last week.
A little swing and a little overlookby SashineK, January 15
So, finally managed to enter another blog entry. This one is not happy or with satisfying feelings, cuz i lost like 5 bi today and 2 yesterday for a total of 2,9K hands. I managed to lose all the big pots, made a few mistakes, mainly taking over pots i should leave alone. It's hard to pick one for example, but it usualy goes like this, i raise PF some moron calls and raises my cbet on flop. Since i cbet a lot of pots, cuz these people at NL25 are so weak, i reraise and he instashoves... so i gotta fold. But the biggest mistakes i were, by my opinion THIS AQ shove (dunno, bad spot... total idiot, had him on a draw) and this one was the worst and it set me off like a FIRECRACKER. I don't know how, but i managed to overlook the double-pairing, especially the pair of 4, so the biggest pot lost today was due to my insufficient focus on a game.
Oh, and i lost aces pretty wierd way ;-) http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/362040 - turn i had him on a split ace... turns out i was completely mistaken about his range :D
And example of my inappropriate pot overtaking - http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/362042 - he had stats like 60/40/zillion, obviously i had to test him and he happened to have the hand :D I'M A DONK!!
But I gotta supply you with the biggest and most entertaining pot that end up my way...
Here it goes - http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/362045 - unfortunately it was the only one this size, i had like 2 or 3 about $15 net for me and then only pots up to $10, which was not enough to cover the losses.
Cya lads.... GL and HF
P.S. For those European players who think, that there are no donks during GMT day - at least one is.... ME! (not mentioning like 70% of people that sucked out and beat me today)
Maybe I'll try semi-pro for awhileby 27s, January 15
I have to appreciate the fact that even though I do really believe I'm a microstakes balla, bad things can happen beyond my control and I could wind up stuck. Besides, my BR is only $1500! I think I can put in 20 hours a week with the work that I have. Sounds kinda crazy though. I'd like to in the months ahead drop one of my evening cleaning contracts which is the one that keeps me working until 3:00am. I'm there 4 nights a week and it's $1000 per month. If I dropped it, I'd only have to small offices to look after in the evening and would never have to work past 11pm. The other 1/3 of my $3k monthly income comes from a few smaller weekly jobs I do during the day. This would free up a lot of my time as I could go to bed at a normal time each night and wake up on a regular schedule. It'd give me more time for poker and studying poker as well as other things. Seems like this could be +EV. I guess the one plus about my situation is being self employed I can reduce my hours working and ease myself into playing pro gradually.
didnt play poker for 3 days
yesterday i had my first university test for this semester and i think i did okay
not sure if i passed it since we needed a fucking 70% of the points to pass >_<
It were 5 pages with 5 questions each 3-4 points we had 90 minutes to write the test.
well i answered most of the questions pretty fast but i am not sure if i managed to be 70% + in points.
there is a chance though
so after the test yesterday my next test is on 23.1 ( wednesday next week)
i thought i could play some poker today ;P
got anal raped - 5 1/2 buy ins on Nl25 in 600 hands
so last 2 sessions were horrible >_< - 3 buy ins on Nl50 and now - 5 1/2 on Nl25
and even though its kinda old ( from 2001) its still a very nice game.
maybe i ll do a short evening session since i cant play poker for the rest of the week
and most likely for the rest of the whole month
( today is the only day where i have like a bit of time in January)
Ok so things are running well for me, and I am happy.
I spent last weekend with a friend at the Crown casino on a holiday & we watched the aussie millions for a bit and played some ring games and had a great time in the clubs. It was a great experience.
Since then, I have played 4 sessions on NL.

2) Was my longest session of 2225 hands 6 tabling. I ran quite poorly and finished -$77 for the session. I was down to about -$180 at one stage, but brought it back. I tilted on one had, which showed some weakness and frustration that needs to be eliminated. I think I will go back to 4 tabling. I was 2 or 3 outed a fair few times, all the hands are processed so i cbf going to get them. But it was not a pretty session.
3) Today before work 243 hands for +$90. I was happy to make back my previous nights losses in 10% of the time. Part of the reason I played so many was to clear a bonus which i did tonight. I played really aggressive, and made a back door flush on someone after cold bluffing the flop to represent AK, he had AQ and checked turn, I checked behind (giving up) and then i hit flush and re raised him all in. It was very lucky.
4) I just had a 1 hr power session on 4 tables and played 340hands for +$101. Being up $50 was my goal. So i am happy i played tight, disciplined poker and bet my outs. I called someone down with TT, who raised me to $6PF on btn, i had noticed him doing this a few times & couldnt credit him with JJ+. I called him down on each street after he raised my initial flop bet from $4 to $16. He had AJ, picked up a four card FL on turn and missed. http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=361549
Anyways. I just hope I can keep on playing well. I spoke to a friend who multi's 5/10 and he said just to keep doing power sessions, make 100 here, and 100 there 2 times a day. I think a more realistic goal is $50 at this stake.
My car got defected by cops last night for bald tyres and a missing light. I have to try get up and fix it tomorrow... sigh. I would like to start being more active during the days, since i only work a pt time job 5-10pm... anyways... stay fresh and gl dudes.
was dealt the cards, but they didnt hold :< , the session was going swimmingly until i started getting eaten alive by shortstacking fgts who just c hipped away at my stack by coolerish stuff like AKvAQ JJQQ etc etc, so i lost about 4-5 20-35ish BB pots
after that, was a comedic 6 WAY ALL IN where i had AA, but AJs ends up hitting the running flush to take down a 4-5BI-ish pot, good times
umm, a few 3bets ended up with me hitting the case ace twice to go broke vs AA and a flopped set, super standard and thats what you get when you 3bet AK, you're almost never folding ever , shrug
Oh i also tried a hero call on a 44499 board when a 70/40 (@ 100ish hands) from korea who was overbetting everything shoved for 150 BB's, i snap called instantly and he tabled AA, whoops
i also value bet a passive station on a 68KJ2 board, potting flop turn river, only to get him all in on the river when he has 68, whoops again
despite this train wreck of a session, i only dropped about 2~ buyins because i was winning a bunch of small / med pots from the rocks that were at my table :/
Other than that, i'm feeling fairly good, and i still feel i should be at NL100 in a couple weeks ^_^
Nothing you can do when the cards dont really work out
