Hey all, Been a while since I've updated.

December and January went well so i splurged on a new computer and 27" dell monitor and am thoroughly enjoying my new setup.

After setting up the new computer I didnt want to reinstall PT2 with all the new poker tracker type programs coming out, so I just installed the PT3 beta and imported all of my hands. The program is nice, but right now the only hud is that AHK script/hud thingie that one of the pt3 guys put out.

It took forever for me to get it to show up at all, and then when i did it seemed random on whether it would display any stats at all.

I'd been thinking about making my own HUD for a while now because I have a lot of ideas on automating the note taking and profiling of players (for example noticing patterns and bet sizing tells automatically and having this information available on the HUD).

I have a working prototype on a simple HUD right now. Here are some screenshots:

The stats shown are:

Label1: First 5 characters of name | # hands
Label2: VPIP / PFR / 3bet%
Label3: FlopAF/TurnAF/RiverAF

Oh, I know that having the players name on the top label is kind of pointless, but I did that so I could see the update rates when new players joined etc.

Right clicking on a label will bring up a little window with more stats, kind of like acehud.

It should be very easy to use - Just unzip to a folder and run.

Other Notes:

Currently it only supports pokerstars.

If you are feeling adventurous you can modify the hud layout by editing the hudconfig.xml file after running the program once.

How to do that:

Look at the of hud configuration first, you will see PokerStars6Max, PokerStar9Max, PokerStars2Max sections.

Each of these have multiple . You can add or remove labels if you want, as well as modify the x,y coordinates, width, and . The way the formula works is that it just replaces the special tags with values from the database. For example the second label has a formula of:


$vpip | $pfr | $3bet and will output like: 20 | 18 | 4

You can put any characters in here you want, it just does a straight replace on the data tags.

Note: Eventually I plan on making a layout manager to do this graphically.

Here are the data tags available:

$name - Players full name
$sname - First five letters of the players name (I added this cause some players had long name and i wanted to limit the real estate showing the name would take up)
$faf - flop AF
$taf - turn AF
$raf - river AF
$pfr - pre flop raise %
$vpip - vpip
$hands - number of hands on villain
$win - total amount of money won by vpppp
illain
$3bet - percent of time they 3bet
$f3bet - percent of time they fold to 3bet (i dont think this is accurate?)


Most of these should be accurate, but PT3 has a database that is a little more complicated than PT2, so some may be off a little or a lot. I do plan on adding more stats obviously, these were just the bare minimum that I wanted for testing. Adding new stats / data tags will be easy. I will probably need help from some smart people figuring out how to query for certain stats.

Overall you should find that the program operates very efficiently, it doesn't tax my cpu or memory at all - though if you have hundreds of thousands of hands it will probably chug (postgres will technically) retrieving your own stats, so if you have 100k+ hands, you probably want to use the "do not query my own stats" feature on the front.

Another note on update rates: It will update stats from the database for a player every 1 minute plus 1 minute for every 1000 hands you have on that player. So if you have 60k hands on a player(wow?) it will only update their stats once per hour. My reasoning for this is that they simply shouldn't change dramatically enough to warrant updating any faster.

I'll probably work on improving / maintaining this program as long as PT3 doesnt have a HUD release date announced, and then after that it will depend on how motivated I am to design and implement the automatic note taking functionality / indicators idea I mentioned

I am happy to say I'm almost at my goals for the month, I'll be moving up to 200nl before month end, taking shots here and there. it's been a variance-ridden month this month but eventually playing solid abc > creative bs lol
Long term goals: 400nl by may/june
short term goals: supernova by end of march(200nl)

im up 3.5bi today and im not playing till tomorrow, prolly some 25nl this afternoon

Since there hasnt been too much action with girls lately me and a friend started a sidebet.
3 days ago.

We try to have as much fun with girls as possible

Making out ( kissing) with a girl without getting laid = +1 point
Getting laid = + 3 points ( getting laid with the same girl severeal times = still 3 points )
Getting a Girlfriend = +5 points

We have 2 months to score as many points as possible.

Well she was pretty beautiful back then 2 years ago.
problem is she has a heavy drug problem and lost some of her good looks
She isnt really taking heroin , but she smokes a good amount of weed and does speed and cocaine.

Man what a great freakin day it has been today. Played for just under 4 hours for just over 2500 hands at 50NL 6max. I'm mostly 9tabling then later on in the session i dropped down to 7 tables. Ran at about 18/15 which is pretty standard for me. People tell me im nitty all the time but playing this tight doesnt seem to be hurting at all.

I'm moving at the end of the month so I'm probably going to cash a little out. I need a few things like a bed to sleep on for one. I havent quit my job yet but Poker is paying all my living expenses right now. I've already cashed out $1500 at the beginning of the month. I really needed this upswing for my spirts as I already hit a 10k hand wall and broke even just before today. Cheers.

As I said in my new years resolutions, I told myself I needed to be more committed to playing more hands each month. In January I did exactly that, plugging in over 50,000 hands, something I haven't done since June of last year. Overall, the month felt really really rough. I started off down close to $8000, and had to grind back up to even from there. Variance is a bitch, but after my mid-month godly run (Ship the +$16k upswing), I ended up around 13k which is pretty solid for me:

For those of you wondering what that -$700 is in the 1/2 heads-up section... that was the day DooMeRFD tilted the shit out of me by nut peddling our heads-up match. Fucking die nit Here is my hourly for the month. Sadly it doesn't really compare to my December hourly, but I'm not going to complain because it's better than any job I can get right now anyways:

$158/hr not bad at 22 years old I guess. So far this month has treated me nicely as well. Been on a nice heater at the start and that has put me up to a pretty nice amount. I've been really sick recently which has limited the time I can actually play poker though (DON'T PLAY POKER WHEN UR SICK! IT'S ALL BAD!). Here is my month so far:

Like I said in earlier blog posts, i've been sick and just recently started getting back in the swing of things. My results were pretty poor to start, so i've been reviewing my hands and re watching cardrunners videos. One video that really helped me was cts's 1/2 video he made playing extremely aggressive. I watched that 2 or 3 times between yesterday and today trying to really absorb the content. I played 1500 hands today 4 tabling, focusing on playing nutso, and using my image to exploit players. It worked! Id post my poker tracker stats but I cant figure out how to print screen on the windows OS im running on my mac. My stats for the session were 30/26/5.5.

I basically kept doing everything possible to annoy the regulars and get the fish to think im crazy. I kept 3betting any iso raises from regulars constantly. I did do this normally, but only with decent hands. Cts said to not be afraid to make aggressive plays like that etc, so I wasn't. It paid off. Some shitty hands got shown down, most didn't though. I did force my opponents to keep trying to adjust. For example, I would constantly 3bet a regular that would iso raise the loose passive fish that kept limping in EP. I did that 3-4 times until he 4bet me. Then I started cold calling all of his raises and started floating or check raising flops. Once it was obvious he was completely sick of me, I tightened up a bit vs him and got paid off.

Pretty simple I suppose, and I thought so before too, but I don't think I was aggressive enough. I also started 4betting fairly light very often vs regulars I knew were 3betting my iso raises. This worked way more often than not as well. All in all, I ended up getting paid off by the most absurd hands throughout the session, and am sure I had quite a few people tilted. This is similar to what straate would do(although his annoyingness was a bit more post flop than pre if I recall correctly), but it had a very similar effect. I did run pretty decent today, a ton better than I had been, but honestly most of my stacking came from sheer stupidity of players that were clearly annoyed with me. My big hands were getting paid off a lot more than they had been. I also held vs most of the draws I got it in vs, and I remember 5 outting a shortstack. I ended up making a bit over 8 buyins today which was sweet. I was just saying to a buddy yesterday that I couldnt remember the last time I had won more than 1-2 buyins in a session.

Over the past 2-3 months, granted I barely played, I seemed to break even. I made a good amount at HU, but lost it at 6m. Like I said, I believed my 6m game was no where near as strong as I thought it was. I knew how to adjust my HU game based on my image, but it seemed like whenever I played 6m I would just auto-pilot it. Hopefully I can continue to develop and maintain this thought process for 6m, and become a much better player.

Another problem I have always had is playing out of my comfort zone. I was not necessarily under rolled(although sometimes I definitely was..), I was still not comfortable with the amount of money being played for. Most likely because I did grow up fairly poor. I have found my comfort zone to be around 50 buyins for 200nl to 600nl. I intend on continuing to grind 100NL to 600NL playing on a 50BI roll. I am hoping to be rolled for and playing 600NL by June(the start of summer vaca for me). I am going to continue to play NL HU, NL 6M, and also keep learning PLO as I think it can be a very lucrative game(moreso than the current state of the NL games), and a good friend of mine has been willing to help me out a ton so i might as well take advantage of it. I will also continue to be backed for all major online tournaments as I certainly play better when backed as opposed to when playing on my own money. Yea I know I have probably said a lot of this stuff before, humor me. I did say I wouldnt tilt this year, and can not remember a single time since the start of the year that I have tilted in any sort of costly way(sure, a tilty play here and there, but no spewtarding at all). Hopefully I will be able to stick to these goals, and will really start to treat this game more like a job.

fwiw I am still all jacked up on energy drank and adderol so I know this is all insane incoherent rambling that probably no one will read and thats fine but it felt good to type it out so i can look back and see what i said.

So you might wonder wtf im talking about, well as some of u know i race rally and i has a massive massive crash on November where i somehow survived, this was the first race of the year with a new car, all the rally went great but at 200m before finishing the race (yes... two fucking hundred meters!!!) there is a small jump, and as soon as i land a *clunk* noise catches my attention and 30meters ahead the car suddenly pulls to the left of the road and there was nothing i could do on a straightaway doing arround 150kmh i go out of the road jumping on rocks and the car then landed on the noise flipping over:

I haven't been playing much poker this month, instead I spend a lot of time playing pool. I have been playing around 2 hours during the weekdays and like 6 hours on weekends lol. As for poker this month I've played around 8 sessions in February so far, but oh man what a heater I had today. I plan on heading up to NL50 after I win a few more buyins at NL25.

Had one of my idiot friends ss this for me so some stuff is cut off. My atsb was 75 according to my stats on pt2 but its 45 on his pt3 so I don't know.

Anyways this session I decided to 4 table and focus and also open a huge range on CO+ and also 3bet relentlessly given how some people are adjusting to my image. I have some decent experience with lag play, played mostly 25/22 at 1/2 over 100k hands (if 25/22 is considered lag), but nothing this outrageous. Made some bad plays and leaked a lot in the small pots, especially against calling station fish since I could never move them off a pair and at the same time I wasn't making high pairs myself. Anyway I thought this would be a fun exercise and hopefully un-nittify myself in my normal game since I'm like 22/19 or something ridiculously tight like that.

Also, had to get my friend to ss for me because for some reason I can't ss myself. Either i'll get an error message in paint saying "error getting clipboard data" or something, or it'll work but everything will be mostly pitch black. I have an nvidia geforce 6600 gt (i think) and two 24" syncmasters. This was only a problem ever since I got my 2 monitors, any ideas?

in other news, took down a $3 45man and got two 5ths and a 6th out of the 7 i played today...yes i said i gave up SNGs but penny stakes are boring unless you 10 table them

EDIT - i just started playign this game called Rudra no Hidou...it's pretty cool. it's for super nintendo but it's japanese only. there's an english ROM though. you make your own spells.

and apperently liquidpoker is a fire element spell that hits everyone...seems about right
