| | brutal level by Royal_Rumble, June 04
i got totally leveled in this hand, it let me mindfucked and brought me totally out of concept.
My opponent was a total nit, so this is a fold on the river right? but getting these odds and the way it was played on turn/river made me not believe it.

| | Some poker stuff and i guess ufc 85 picks by Fox, June 04
I guess i'll start out by talking some poker stuff. I decided to take a shot at NL200. I was doing fine but then i took a bad beat AA vs AK hitting a straight so i kinda titled and donked another buyin. I thankfully quit before i lost more but it left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm going to do some more NL100 until i feel more confident again. My May was pretty good i made 17 buyins overall but i wanted to play more hands. My job currently is killing me with the amount of time i'm needing to put in and it won't stop until end of June. My goal was to be taking shots at NL400 by the end of summer, which is still possible i think. PT3 is fun and i've gotten used to it, but it still crashes a bit too much.
Midian has been a ton of help and i've already been using some of his tactics in combat and it's won me buyins already. Daut also has been helpful recently as well. Although our convos turn into poker/mma hybrids so i can't tell when he says "side control into kimura" if he means to bet three streets or what.
I was also thinking about moving sites but i think stars is just so stable and I really don't need rakeback THAT much.. i mean i'd only be getting an extra 10-15% of rakeback compared to what i'm doing now. Anyway.... on to ufc stuff.
This card upcoming i'm kinda excited for. I'm pretty busy so i'll try to keep this simple and straight forward.
Matt Hughes Vs. Thiago Alves- Matt Hughes should win this. People pick thiago cuz he blasted karo and Hughes just lost to GSP. Matt Hughes is a beast and he's still a beast. If he loses this it's cuz he's way over the hill and thiago got way better.
but hughes of 1-2 years ago would win this by strikes round 2. So i still pick hughes by decision.
Chris Leben Vs. Michael Bisping- Leben is gonna pay. Bisping is better at him then everything EXCEPT chin and 1 punch power. Bisping has mad skills and i really like his game. He also is training hands against the likes of kongo and rampage... you think about it.
Marcus Davis Vs. Mike Swick- yawnfest. Swick by decision? =/
Rashad Evans Vs. James Irvin- SANDMAN TIME. I'm a big irvin fan but Bonnar took him down and subbed him. Rashad has good enough wrestling to control him so Rashad by UD.
Fabricio Werdum Vs. Brandon Vera- I don't see how vera can win this, even in the clinch.. I mean werdum is a big HW and he's got incredible ground game. The only way Vera can win is if he clinches and can land knees, but I give this to werdum by decision.
Jorge Rivera Vs. Martin Kampmann- JORGE KO THE END. Ok Martin has got some major skills but on his feet he will have his hands full, if Jorge can keep it standing he wins. But i think Martin is just too good overall. I think martin by sub or decision.
Matt Wiman Vs. Thiago Tavares- Tavares sub rd 1.
Nathan Marquardt Vs. Thales Leites- Woah what a great fight. Marquardt by decision or rnc.. but this is a great fight.
Don't really care about the rest.

Sick. Just sick. Moved up from nl5 today after hitting $200 and had a shot at 10nl - it couldnt be going better, running like god, biggest winning day to date feels great. I'm not going to post any hands today, but I will do tomorrow when I get thrown into some harder situations, I'm still playing at the moment too so just adding a quick update.
Stats and stuff - nitty as fuck!

| | Free Money? by DarkDevildog, June 04
So i was thinking...
If i use my debit card and buy a Mastercard Gift Card i can deposit money on Pokerstars. Well since i'm already a winning player at 25nl if i deposit $50 on pokerstars, use the bonus code to get 100% deposit(just unlocks with FPP) then cash out $50 isn't that basically like getting a free $50?

| | More prop bets! by BJLTNYK, June 04
Taking a day off from the 100NL recap though I am doing well. Two more prop bets:
Have my $1k to jlosts/lostaccounts $555 on the NBA Finals. I've got the Lakers. Plz to be shipping to me Kobe.
Also have a $100 WSOP fantasy draft bet with nutshot. We drafted after event 1 had started so that event isn't counting. I recommend doing it with your friends...it's gonna make sweating the WSOP even more fun. We have a scoring system developed including 2x for $10k events and 3x for the main event. People probably went in random places but strange stuff happens during drafts. I created a spreadsheet for what it looks like and it's available on google here:

| | Tuesday, June 3rd by lazymej, June 03
Well today was a really good day for me pokerwise I actually played some good solid poker that got me winning consistently. Before yesterday I had been feeling really discouraged and felt that perhaps I wasn't cut out for poker, because I really couldn't see any progress at all. In fact, I think I was losing even more than when I first started. Well, I'm glad to say that I made 11 buyins today, but I lost a few in the process (2 or 3 of them to a fellow LP member hehe. I wasn't outplayed it was just badluck and perhaps stubbornness. But then again which of us do like to lay down KK) and finished the day with +7 buyins. That is really really good for me, someone who was struggling to get any positive cashflow at all previously. As my roll increased, I could allow myself to play more and more tables (before I didn't have the roll to let me do that), and the more tables I played, the more quickly I was winning (SC multitask skills ftw).
I think things have finally started clicking for me. I owe thanks to a lot of people and things for starting me off on the right foot and providing priceless advice. LP has been super helpful thus far and I love the community Special thanks to FA, tloapc, Oddeye, Booyaka for giving me so much of their valuable time to explain stuff to me. Thanks to GroT/Jelle for writing that super helpful beginners guide. Also thanks to Tien who wrote 2 great articles on playing 6max. I look forward to learning more and more, as I have merely touched the tip of the iceberg
Hopefully I will keep this up and can move up in stakes soon

| | Melbourne tomorrow. by purrryadog, June 03
Last night i played live 2/3 and was completely card dead.
I ended -$119. The fish are unbelievable. One guy stacked off w/ A6 on a board A T 6. He was up against AA, and it was about a $700 pot. The guy who had AA is the nittiest player alive, he led out $75 into $80 and said "I just wanted to take it down there, I was scared of the bflush draw".
On another note, i played just over 200 hands online when i got home and was up $157. Then I went to sleep.
Woke up at 1.30pm today. Not ideal. Feel pretty lazy and scum.
I am off to melbourne tomorrow to play some live games at crown and also to see my one of my best friends. Will be good to go out to restaurants and catch up with friends, and hopefully win some juicy pots.
I need to buy a new on-board luggage suitcase today, so will do that after i finish this quick session.
I just started playing, will be 3 tabling 100nl as the connection has been capped. Had some troubles last night with connection at important moments.

| | Good or Bad fold here??? by C Huuustle, June 03
Finally a winning day at 50NL... 50NL is definitely different than 25NL. Ive seen sooo many people who cant fold TP/TK with AK and get stacked off. It happens to me as well but i'm working on it. I need some advice for this one hand. This was actually my last hand of the session so i kinda lost focus and just wanted to see my results.

| | more hands if anyone wants to take a look by shaneomac, June 03
so i played another session tonite, was tilt free and i played on a very even keel. i think i played relatively well, however i hit a lot of coolers again and i made a bad call or two probly.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/459040 - stnd
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/459041 - guy was playing 38/16 so his range is pretty wide here, obv not this hand tho
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/459038 - guy was playing pretty loose, so i figured id make the call pf in position. normally id either shove this flop or shove over his turn bet, but ive made those plays in past and people told me its awful w no FE and i can see a turn/river relatively cheaply so i opted to call, probly shouldve folded turn tho, but i picked up a gutshot as well
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/459039 - i dont even know...
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/459042 - OOPS THERE WAS NO HISTORY HERE

| | girls life tilt me part II by royalsu, June 03
continued...
I forgot to mention that she said we would do something for sure the next day (today)...i.e. go see a play, dinner, and stuff. Well this morning after I went back to bed from 7am to 10am, she texts me that she doesn't want to do anything today. Uggg. Life tilt again! So again I took out my aggression, this time on the party morning donks and made another 1.5k.
Total profits from girls tilting me today: 3k
So it's 7:40pm and she calls me to bring over some food. I know...I'm woman-whipped.
Before I leave I present you the brag hand of the day:
The history: I double barreled in a blind battle when the ace hit on the turn and he folded. He then proceeds to 3b me at every oppertunity, whereas he hadn't 3b me at all before. So I sense tilt on his part. On to the hand: I call on the flop because the board is so dry and that's what I'd do with QK AK. Now he bet really weak on the flop and quick. On the turn he thinks forever before making a large potcommitting bet. I thought to myself: "lol my pair of nines is probably good." (and yes, "lol" is a word)
I think with AK you would bet smaller on the turn in order to give the illusion of fold equity so that the opponent can shove with worse. Anyways, ship it. Plus I probably life tilted him for good.
Fun Hand

Finished up 4th in the $10 + R today for a semi-decent score. Not happy with it considering how heavy the prize pool is weight towards the top. Went out on a flip vs. the big-stack. At least I finally FT'd this tournament after bubbling in 11th and 10th respectively in my past two trips to the final two tables.
