Sigh by GameOverNoob, July 25

My game is off... I really don't know what happened over the past few days, but my game flow isn't like it was... I'm 3betting less, and I seem to be getting caught up in awful situations all the time. So i just played another session, and was playing a little more TAG'ish then usual and the same shitty results... I just kept showing up with the worse hand, iono... could be just running bad... my confidence is off, which doesn't help... I might move down and play NL25 for a couple sessions even though I'm insanely over rolled for it and wont make very much money I hope to regain my "cocky im the best soul reading mother fucker" attitude.

Summer Summary by Seobombisgay, July 25

Took a huge break after gf broke up. You can kinda tell when she did. Well here's the graph for the summer and will post up weekly, probably bi-weekly graphs, again along with hands.

[H]How to Raise $VPIP? by SugoGosu, July 25

I have a VPIP at NL5 of 15.7 over like 10k hands.

What can I do to raise this to the standard of about 20?

My hand ranges are: all pocketpairs, suited connectors, and all combinations of A K Q J. Then on the button I'm raising suited gapers to hands when no one raised PF.

I'm still getting a nice ~15bb/100 so i dont think its that big of a deal, but when I move up, I can't have too nitty of stats or I won't be making monies T_T

edit: idk why there's 2 topics of this

adversity stomped..for now by rockman255, July 25

well, on monday i had a debaucle by getting my money frozen on epassporte and i felt soooo like shit, and i was so tilted that i took a small shot at nl50.. worst possible thing to do, right?

anyway, in my brief shot, i basically ended up in two big pots that i trapped myself in, one i was 56-44 and one i was 39-61 to win, lost both, and then went back to nl25 where i was still struggling.. i think my bankroll took like a 200 hit that day

tuesday i got free tickets to see Toronto FC (soccer) from my fpps which was badass and i totally relaxed and didnt stress about poker

with a real risk of being underrolled for nl25(i made an arguably unnecessary withdrawl of $500 to cover my idiot taxes with the epassporte bs) i fought back and here i am

i know times can and will get a lot worse than this but im happy that i was able to claw back

props to kimseongchan's blog with rocky and shit. holla :D

Deepstack 2/4 FTW by GameOverNoob, July 25

Past 36hrs; I run on ice in my normal games breaking even over a bunch of sessions then run like electric jesus in a document and take it down for some profits. I continue to run bad and now my game's being effected by the lack of confidence and i feel as though I can't play anymore. I dump all kinds and give up, and sweat my buddies 2/4 session. I notice some spaz fish is going insane and see a waiting list start to fill up quickly so i add my name out of curiosity. My seat comes and i sit with the min when i notice there's 11 people waiting after me. I double through the spaz all in pre with AQ and he snap calls from the blinds with K3s. Then I lose my stack to him when i raise AK from the puck, flop tptk and get it all in vs his gutshot with 33 on a A25 board. I reload 100$. My 100 skyrockets to 1150 over 3hrs thanks to papabear (the spaz fish) who limps or min raises everyhand and calls anything on everystreet till he fold on the river. Game breaks within ONE HAND when papabear gets up with just over 2k.

Stacks at table were:
1.1k
2.3k
2.2k
1.7k
400
3.1k

Avg pot: 290$
I'm stocked and ready to get back to playing again. Bankroll boostaments!!
(my buddy offered me a partial stake 15 min in but i didn't accept)

Update + PB Longest Session by Yaffie, July 25

After that awesome downswing during the 2xvpp bollocks in week 1 of july, i was away for a couple of weeks, 1 of which i didn't even have internet access.

It was a cool couple of weeks tho - spent the first living with my uni flatmate + fellow LPer PRO_rANDY. i got to see the delights of Bolton town centre and the Trafford Centre! The second week, I moved some of my things into my new flat, and spent the time with my girlfriend. I'm really liking it compared to the old one. Good location, sexy exposed wood panelling in my bedroom, brand new boiler and sofas provided by the landlord! Excellent.

So needless to say i didn't clock in many hands. I've been trying to make up for it this week - spurred on by the 40% reload deposit bonus + maintaining silver status for the month.

I went straight back to NL25 and really have been running pretty shit. I don't wana moan but I've had some pretty sick beats and can't think of a single hand where I've sucked out. Anyway I can't complain as I'm up 6 buyins for the week.

Longest personal session:

from about 11pm to 5.30am last night, with a little break in between, varying from 1 table to 8 tables. I was down 4 buyins at one point, after losing 3 flips for pots over 200BB, as well as losing QQ vs 55 all in pf, but managed to end up +2 buyins so I was very pleased with that. AND I DIDNT TILT. go me

i should also say how much fun I had playing with LPer night2o1 for a lot of that session and thank him for introducing me to a complete donk. ha!

MTT cash:

came 8th in a 3000 man $5 freezeout tuesday night for $240 so that's a very welcome addition to my bankroll. I was pretty gutted that I didn't do better - was 5th in chips when I 3bet all in pf with JJ against A9 and he made a questionable call to hit an ace on the turn

Couple more sessions and I've maintained silver status. GL

Played Good by fenner, July 25

I played as well as i could today (for my knowledge and skill level), didn't spew.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/7a26d561917b9ea5afedf19005faa26f.jpg

Fucked by variance, anyway I felt I made a bad decision once and here it is:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/491853 - KK raised from UTG called by a 40/10/1 minraising my ass, easy fold

And one time I played AA very poorly and lost a street of value. But otherwise, money went in ahead and im happy that most of my all-ins were +EV

sicko cd by shaneomac, July 25

i just DLed the new shinedown cd, and it has some really sick ass songs on it. some really emotionally strong, heavy songs, most of which i can really relate to, and if anyone likes rock/shinedown, check it out, its definitely worth it.

Don't you hate it when by k2o4, July 24

You're having a winning session and you decide to quit, but you get dealt some nice hands and figure you'll play them out before you shut down. These nice hands hit good flops (all happening at the same time on multiple tables) and you think "whoa I could leave on a big win here" and you end up getting it all-in on several tables. And you end up getting to showdown to find out that you have a good hand, but it's a second best hand and your nice winning session just turned into a losing one.

That's the story of my night. Luckily I went through with my plan and closed down the tables right away after losing those hands, instead of continuing to play to "get even", cause I was tilted to hell and back.

Help - Possible move up?? by eightfourO, July 24

I don't know if i should move up or not?? Looking to get some advice on here... My buddy Moffa was telling me the other day that 10nl sucks balls but 25nl is like this magically money pit that is very easy to dominate. So i'm giving it a bit of a try, i'm playing 2 tables right now, nice and easy. I certainly don't have the roll right now to be ballin like 6 tables or anything... but this is what i have found so far in just like maybe 60 hands...steal steal, win nice pot...

Can i expect this often at 25nl??? Give some advice on how to play/what they play.

And obv if i were to play 25nl w/o a huge roll i wouldn't multi table... I'd play 1 or 2 tables until my roll was were it would be to play there... like 500 or so. Right now i'm at 240. I was at 210 or something b4 tonight.

Just some opinions plz

Changes by Pillars, July 24

New, primary goal:

Learn how to play poker.

Sub-goals:

1.) Play four tables, not twelve.
2.) Think critically about the game.
3.) Stop being a nit.
4.) Raise, bet and fold more often; call less often.

My first 10,000+ hands playing four tables...

just gonna wait til i have enough money to deposit 500 or more if its even possible to still deposit after epassporte died.
