So this is the month that I feel like poker has really taken off for me, and I'm really, really pleased. I started playing in June, really turned up the heat in October/November. I struggled for a long, long time to get past NL10-- NL25 just seemed like such an insurmountable obstacle. I ran bad during many of my shots, but I really just wasn't ready for the next level yet. I lost an incredible 68 buyins before it all clicked at the very end of December.

What clicked? Well, I had to start adjusting to villains properly. I was having a lot of trouble adjusting to individuals, to regs vs fish, to aggro fish, etc. It wasn't that I didn't know "how" to adjust but that I simply didn't have the confidence to make use of my observations and educated guesses on their play. It was a problem with my confidence in my observations.

So I said fuck it and started doing what I knew I had to do-- adjust--and I took off at a reasonable winrate at nl20 and hopped to nl50 quickly.

Anyway, that's my little poker story so far. I still have a ton to learn and I'm looking forward to it..

50% of what I made this month is rakeback/bonuses, but it counts anyway!

Nice heater today, though I've spewed the last 500 hands so its like erasing my heater..how stupid imo Just some spots that I should of avoided.

Tomorrow when I can deposit on Playersonly (cashing out pending from cake), I'm going to have a super-sick $1000 bonus to clear + 33% rakeback along the way. 56% rakeback is just so sick I can't get over it >< I'm going to try to grind out this bonus in 2.5 weeks in order to get myself playing again. The bonus will take ~60k hands, which is quite a lot for 6tabling. Pretty sweet bonus whoring deal though, and I'd love to fit one last bonus in after wards in feb.

Re-motivating myself to grind, I've just been really wishy washy since my failed nl100 shot on Sunday and I've only played 5khands since then /wrists

Nap -> 1500+ more hands is my goal for the day.

I butchered two hands so bad that I am embarrassed to post them, its like my brain just crapped out ^^

I'm feeling really shitty today, but I decided I should put in a couple of hands of poker. I decided I'd play a bit and if I got up a bit I'd just log and save myself for a big grindathon tomorrow. Then I went on a super heater and was up 2bi in 20 minutes.. Ofc I decide to play another orbit on each table and I lose a flip for stacks right near the finish -_-. Thanks poker, lolol.

Anyway, I've slowed down a lot the past 4 days or so. I am going to pick it up again starting tomorrow w00t. I want to put in 70k+ hands 4-6tabling (depends if I win at my nl100 shots, then 4 tables, nl50 = 6 tables) next month.

One thing I have to think about it is this:
I worked out that I should be able to pretty solidly make $2500 next month if I only play nl50 for 60k hands, and -don't take any nl100 shots-. This would be nice because I'd have a solid 5k-5.5k roll to ship 4k to my bank and play with in Vegas.

OR I can play and take shots at nl100 everytime I have 3BI for it.. but god knows how this would work out, and if it didn't I wouldn't have much of a roll for Vegas. Like 2-2.5k

I want to play 2/5 in Vegas, but I simply won't have the roll for it.. I'll probably play 1/2 or 1/3 and if I win I will use it for shots at 2/5. This way my roll isn't in danger, atleast.

Any thoughts on all this?


BTW verdict for site change over the next 2weeks is to grind out a $650(!) bonus at playersonly.

Their software is really, really starting to tilt me. It crashes like every hour, and inbetween crashes it is like the tables lose their connection to the server and I time out on 1/2 of my tables and on all of them I have to re-check post blinds like 4 times before it starts working again. Reeaaaallly starting to piss me off and I'm thinking about changing sites JUST because of this fuckin software :/ BTW if anyone has advice on how this might be fixed lemme know.. no I've never experienced anything like these problems at stars/ftp..

I'm wondering what people think about ftp rakeback vs stars VIP at my play level. I think its pretty solid that supernova > FTP, but if I'm going to platinum for atleast 6-8months out of the year.. wtf should I do? :D

I'm also curious if anyone has an opinion on softness of nl50-nl200 on cake vs stars or FTP

Lol I think I am going to become superstitious, when a sick fish is running like god I should just delete my poker application until the next day.

This was the end of my session, I had already given up(why I just played it like a retard on turn/river, my eyes were glazed cuz I just got stacked in the hand below :D), this was the only pot I won past the flop. ONLY ONE LOL. Every flop was completely uncbettable, and I whiffed every time.

Having a good run.

I seriously abused some fish today along the way ^^

I promised my fuckin(not in that way ) friend I'd go out with her to dinner so I won't be able to play anymore.. I guess its good to lock up the win though.. I could use a little break and motivation via having a strong winning day.


My total nl50 graph looks fucking miserable, its hilarious, I'll post it at the end of the month.. hopefully I will have a nice steady uptrend from now 'til then though.

$200 more for a $2k month (including rb/bonus ). I want 3k+ next month! But I suppose it depends entirely on how my nl100 shots go.

Gladly myth is going to hook me up with a leakfinders video (I guess I should shill for CR a bit now Go CR yo!). I am getting a bit frustrated with an extended bit of run-like-shit I'm going through. It is showing in my play a bit so I need to put a clamp down on that. I still have a couple of days to get my damn 2k month like I so desire..

I should probably start playing during the day, because Cakepoker's low traffic makes the games really ridiculous at night. There are nothing but regs at the tables and its like trying to squeeze water from a fuckin rock.

Not sure what's going on with the massive redirection of my red line LOL. I will keep an eye on myself and make sure I'm not going crazy or anything. I've been putting in some squeezes is the biggest difference.. only thing I can do to get a penny out of these toolbags.

And god damn the past week or so has been swingy for me. I've already exceeded my hand goal for the month (I wanted 40-50k hands) @ 55k hands, and I am looking towards a 65-70k hand month. My month's goal is to have 10+bi of profit at nl50 and solidify myself as a winner there. With bonus/rakeback this will be my first 2k+ month so long as I don't run into some ugly downswing. I'm at $1550 if you include rakeback/bonuses.

I really am confident that I can beat nl50 and I am improving my game every day. After the thread "Talent is overrated" I was thinking about my approach to poker again, and I have decided to try and reinstate 1-2hour session at a time with breaks inbetween. This will let me really concentrate and actively learn while I play, instead of just grinding.

I will come up with some goals for feb. at the end of the month, as a lot can hinge on the next 10 days. I REALLY hope I don't have to spend too much time on class (I shouldn't have to, except math -_-). I'm thinking 55k+ hands should be my goal for next month, and definitely a 2k+ month.

I tilted after running bad during the last downswing there, which really sucks, and I'm focusing on making sure that doesn't happen much (which it doesn't..yay). It is stupid have to run-bad amplified by tilt and that downswing didn't need to be that big.

I also blew a buyin with an accidental misclick LOL OOPS

So for the week of spring break(somewhere between the 5th-15th, maybe that whole span of time if I'm lucky) I am headed to Las Vegas. I'm hoping to build a roll for it asap, I plan to play around 20 (prolly more? depends) hours live while there. I don't know anything about the casinos there or what sort of buyin I should be looking at. I figure somewhere around ~400 buyin will be the smallest games? I'm sure I will be crushing nl50 by that point (or maybe playing nl100.. cross fingers), so I'm sure the low stakes in vegas will be very beatable. What number of buyins should I have available?
How are the games there during spring break-- any different? Or do the college kids not bring much money to blow ?

Anyway, I want to mess around, party, sight see a bit.. So I need suggestions. I'll be making another post about this around the beginning of march, but I wanted to go ahead and say woo hoo

I wouldn't mind meeting some LP'rs while I'm up there. I'd rather like hitting the club or otherwise partying I figure this will be more likely to be organized in march.

I also recorded a 49minute session at nl50 with audio. I'm going to make a thread for that soon.. I hope I can get some feedback from you guys again, it is very helpful ^^.

Every bluff snapped off, guy l/calls a 3bet with JT and flops top pair, call 2 barrels all-in (thought he might have an underpair...?). I had overcards obv.

oh yah can't forget all the set over set, and overpairs vs sets in 3bet pots

I've lost hundreds of dollars trying to "think" about what these guys have going on in their heads. Its a fucking waste of time. There is nothing happening in their heads. At all.
