So i'm pretty excited about warhammer online coming. Any mmo player probably knows about it. Some wow players are probably hating on it, but it's gonna be a great game.
I mean with daoc development team + EA gaming money... you can't really go wrong.
Also pretty excited about diego/thiago. Great matchup.
So Keanureaver and I do this thing where we create these fictional hybrid fighters. They are something as simple as..
BJ penn and Tito ortiz (skill + cardio)
or something cute like
Randy Couture Anderson silva (the clinch of ultimate destruction)
or completely off the wall like
Megatron + GSP (Evil wicked lust for destruction + most balanced fighter ever)
So we would go on about who could beat who. Eventually we found a hybrid that was so unbeatable we just don't ever speak of it cuz it just shatters the laws of reason.

So a friend of mine at work booked hotel/flight like super advance for blizzcon. Blizzcon tickets go on sale yesterday they are like sold out in 3 seconds.

I knew lesnar was training with sherk but he's improved so much. Jesus what the hell if lesnar can do that for 5 rounds nog is in trouble wtf?!?!!? I'm in disbelief... he sure showed me.
omfg gsp is not from earth. This was more impressive then just finishing fitch in the 2nd round. Super cardio, super skills, super everything just destroyed fitch.
Georges St. Pierre vs. Jon Fitch
The title match. omfg.... Jon Fitch is so game it's not even funny... and in another era he would be the champ the guy people couldn't touch. But watch his fight against diego and he's put into some very difficult positions. Diego is very scrappy on the ground and Fitch seemed to run into a few problems before winning a decision. He can't do that against GSP. GSP is just too dynamic and is far too explosive/strong. Fitch is strong as well but if GSP gets top position he's in trouble. I think GSP has the edge in basically everything. Better wrestling, better top position, better BJJ, better strikes... i don't know either mans cardio but watching gsp recently he has no issues it seems... i see this with GSP winning mid rounds by strikes.
Brock Lesnar vs. Heath Herring
So many people are giving brock a chance. Probably because herring lost to a wrestler in his debute and they think brock can do the same. Well this is a new herring and i think he's just too crafty and too good standing.. I see lesnar losing his explosiveness in round 2/3 and herring picking him apart. There is no way that lesnar can stop herring by strikes it's impossible. Fedor gnp him for the entire 10 minute round and the doctor had to stop it, herring didn't give up... do we think lesnar can do that in 3x5 minute rounds? Herring by decision.
Kenny Florian vs. Roger Huerta
I think i want to see this fight more then the gsp/fitch one. This fight is really a difference in styles. Huerta uses a kickboxer/boxing type standup style with wrestling. While florian uses a MT and BJJ style. Both are game and both have great cardio. This is gonna be a war... i really want huerta to win this. I love his game and his style and he's fun to watch, but on paper florian's ground is just so strong.... and if he gets top position on roger he's in trouble. I see this being Kenny by choke round two
Manvel Gamburyan vs. Robert Emerson
Robert Emerson is not good. Manny by decision or kimura 2nd round.
Demian Maia vs. Jason MacDonald
Okami sat on Mcdonald's face and Jason had no answer. Maia will triangle jason round 1 =[
Luke Cummo vs. Tamden McCrory-
Cummo will win by cooking Tamden some nasty ass kelp salad. I don't know much about Tamden but Cummo isn't really great in my opinion. Don't really know how this fight goes.
Cheick Kongo vs. Dan Evensen
Dan evensen is a striker who sucks. Kongo is a striker who's good.
Winner by giant african knees to the brain. Kongo
Andre Gusmao vs. Jon Jones
Wish i knew what weight this figh was at. probably 205. Andre is a good strong IFL fighter i've seen him before. Andre by TKO 2nd round.
Steve Bruno vs. Chris Wilson
Chris Wilson is that guy who had some serious standup against Jon Fitch. Steve is game but Chris is a team quest guy (so got serious wrestling) and great hands. Lots of people think he can be seriously good at 170. Chris by strikes 1st round.
Ben Saunders vs. Ryan Thomas
WTF WHO.
I'm pretty excited about this card. But i want to say that WEC is putting on such a great show now a days. Condit is a force and i'd love to see him face GSP if GSP wins... I might even prefer WEC over to UFC now a days. I hope all of you catch it when you can because if not you're missing out. As is i didn't really blog about the fedor/sylvia fight but there isn't reason to do so. Fedor is a beast and he's the best fighter in the world. p4p arguments are so shitty it's annoying. "if anderson silva walked around at 240 he'd crush fedor" yeah and if fedor could make 185 he'd also be 2x as fast... wtf who cares... As for poker, I don't really care to comment about myself but my main man KeanuReaver is back in action and he's splitting heads. WAR KEANU.
So someone was suggesting doing the 5400 fpp tournaments for the sunday million buyin. It's the greatest idea ever. It's fun to play and I've already placed in one, ship the 200$!
As for mma. This weekend is "bleh" I'm so pumped for affliction. I really want to make a post about the top 5 of each division and thoughts about potential matchups. That would be a long post but i'm very interested in doing it. Maybe before july 19th comes.
I guess i'll start out by talking some poker stuff. I decided to take a shot at NL200. I was doing fine but then i took a bad beat AA vs AK hitting a straight so i kinda titled and donked another buyin. I thankfully quit before i lost more but it left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm going to do some more NL100 until i feel more confident again. My May was pretty good i made 17 buyins overall but i wanted to play more hands. My job currently is killing me with the amount of time i'm needing to put in and it won't stop until end of June. My goal was to be taking shots at NL400 by the end of summer, which is still possible i think. PT3 is fun and i've gotten used to it, but it still crashes a bit too much.
Midian has been a ton of help and i've already been using some of his tactics in combat and it's won me buyins already. Daut also has been helpful recently as well. Although our convos turn into poker/mma hybrids so i can't tell when he says "side control into kimura" if he means to bet three streets or what.
I was also thinking about moving sites but i think stars is just so stable and I really don't need rakeback THAT much.. i mean i'd only be getting an extra 10-15% of rakeback compared to what i'm doing now. Anyway.... on to ufc stuff.
This card upcoming i'm kinda excited for. I'm pretty busy so i'll try to keep this simple and straight forward.
Matt Hughes Vs. Thiago Alves- Matt Hughes should win this. People pick thiago cuz he blasted karo and Hughes just lost to GSP. Matt Hughes is a beast and he's still a beast. If he loses this it's cuz he's way over the hill and thiago got way better.
but hughes of 1-2 years ago would win this by strikes round 2. So i still pick hughes by decision.
Chris Leben Vs. Michael Bisping- Leben is gonna pay. Bisping is better at him then everything EXCEPT chin and 1 punch power. Bisping has mad skills and i really like his game. He also is training hands against the likes of kongo and rampage... you think about it.
Marcus Davis Vs. Mike Swick- yawnfest. Swick by decision? =/
Rashad Evans Vs. James Irvin- SANDMAN TIME. I'm a big irvin fan but Bonnar took him down and subbed him. Rashad has good enough wrestling to control him so Rashad by UD.
Fabricio Werdum Vs. Brandon Vera- I don't see how vera can win this, even in the clinch.. I mean werdum is a big HW and he's got incredible ground game. The only way Vera can win is if he clinches and can land knees, but I give this to werdum by decision.
Jorge Rivera Vs. Martin Kampmann- JORGE KO THE END. Ok Martin has got some major skills but on his feet he will have his hands full, if Jorge can keep it standing he wins. But i think Martin is just too good overall. I think martin by sub or decision.
Matt Wiman Vs. Thiago Tavares- Tavares sub rd 1.
Nathan Marquardt Vs. Thales Leites- Woah what a great fight. Marquardt by decision or rnc.. but this is a great fight.
I picked a lot of fights and i got about all of them right. So I won't bother talking mostly about those i'll talk about the ones i didn't get right.
BJ vs Sherk.
BJ's gameplan >> Sherk. BJ smarter then Sherk. BJ better then sherk. We all knew that bj had really good hands. I talk with naz/daut/keanu/and other mma guys here and we all agree that BJ has some of the best hands at LW. To think that sherk was going to stand with him was pretty foolish. I mean BJ is a tall LW and he just snapped that jab Tim Sylvia style and turned sherk into mangled beef. Now yes i think that maybe it hsouldn't have been stopped but the way sherk was fighting he was gonna stop bj in the 4th/5th? Cuz he sure didn't win the 1st three rounds he had to make his push in the 3rd round to win 3 to 2 for a decision... but he didn't. In any case bj looked great but wasn't pressured enough in the clinch/ground which is where i think he gasses. GSP will do that to him and i think bj is biting off more then he can chew going after GSP. Just like i think anderson silva would be if he went against rampage at 205. The only move up in weight fight that isn't loppsided is gsp/spider imo.
The card was fun imo. I'm happy wandy is back, yoshida freaking obliterated warmachine and he was the most impressive fighter to me of the night. His judo in the clinch was pretty manly and then a transition into anaconda... oh baby!
I'll probably talk about the 85 card coming up soon I had no idea it was First week of June... crazytown! As for poker I'm doing pretty well.. everyone who's been helping me thanks a lot. I'm going to have a session with midian pretty soon so i can't wait for him to level me up even more.
