Today i realized how much working in the real world sucks ^^
Especially with the degree i will have after graduating from university.
An old mate who finished the exact same studies at univerrsity that i do atm graduated 2 years ago and
is now a self employer sports scientist.
He works in cooperation with a health insurance company called AOK.
What he does is basically helping them as sport scientist in some research fields and studies while they arrange him customers for his private health courses ( They basically take care of 70% of teh costs customers have to pay for his courses -> he gets more customers ).
He gets 750€ a month for helping them out 20h a week on scientistit research concerning public health
additionally he averages another 700€ / month for giving this health courses ( health excercising etc ...)
He is only allowed to give a maximum of 20h health excercise courses a month or he will lose the cooperation with the AOK
So all in all
-> 1450€ month income ( 2000$) for 25h work/week
ALl in all if u are a poker player this isnt too bad
U have plenty of free time to make additional 2-5K a month ^^
+ u have a relativly easy job and do something that helps other people
If u arent a Poker player and find yourself in this situation
-> Fuck Your Life ! ( 4,5 years of university studies for a 1400€ job ??? >-<)
lol

unfortunately before this hand i had lost a bunch to him
failing my bluffs
+ 361 $ 3/3 days into June
wont play much the next few days since i have a shitload of university stuff and will enter a grappling tournament in Coburg
on saturday : ( well i suck at grappling without GnP ... but its still necessary for MMA so i have to roll from time to time)
Usually my Groundgame is all about getting Mount of back mount -> go KingKong on opponent face.
I am not that good at submissions
And i really have problems breaking someones guard in a grappling match. ( In MMA its easier since u can just do some Fedor in guard striking and almost all opponents will open guard to dodge the punches )
today way okay pokerwise...
i was tired and didnt play my A game
still + 82$
which puts June + 253$ so far after 2/2 days
I definitely hope to make up for my lazy may ^^
Finally i bought a new computer ( wanted to do this for the last 2-3 months but somehow wasnt too happy with a system)
Finally i found one that is probably pretty good + cheap
first 4K hands i was up +574$ i played like only 5/15 days till the middle of the month
Then i sat down and started to grind ...
Lost 526$ the next 4K (2days) hands T_T and didnt play any more for the rest of the month ..
So in may i played a total of
7,8K hands
7/ 31 days
+48$ profits
Guess u could say May was a month where i definitely didnt care about poker...
I am motoivated and feel refreshed for June though edit
Judo
originally is a Japanese Self defence System including weapon teqchniques found by Jigoro Kano in 1882.
However the more popular form of Judo is the Olympic sports Judo of 1950s
I only got trained in olympic Judo so i will exclusivly comment on that Style.
Intension of Judo ( Olympic Version)
- Throw your opponent on the back ( U win the fight when opponents back touches the ground while u are in control)
- Throw your opponent on the ground and either follow up with a submission or pin hold within 20 seconds. ( after 20 seconds its stand up again in most cases)
Oposed to general believe Judo is not a ground fighting art.
Its a stand up martial art.
The overwhelming part of Judo skills is used in standing position !
The Training methods of modern Judo are very "alive" and u will do lots of sparring (randori) over and over again.
U will learn lots of different throws for different situations + escapes from ground and furthermore some basic submissions
and GI chokes. ( Armbar , triangle , different chokes)
Video of different throws from Judo competitions
Does Judo work in a Real fight
There is good news and there is bad news for u guys out there hoping to become a better fighter by training Judo
1.) Judo does work in real fights and also in MMA circumstances
2.) U need a shitload ( and i am really doing a sick understatement here !)of training in order to sucessfully use Judo techniques in real fights.
Judo is an art and i really think it is a very beatiful art to use in real fighting situations.
However it is very difficult to learn !
While most other martial arts are easy to learn but difficult to master u can savely say that Judo is even very difficult to learn in the first place.
It just is insanely difficult to throw a person in a fight where boxing and Kicking is allowed.
Thats the reason i gave up on Judo like 2 years ago.
U need to train at least 4 times a weak each unit at least 2h to be able to use Judo throws succesfully in real fighting situations.
I have sparred with a lot of Judokas ranking from white belt to black belts and in no other martial arts i encounterd such a big difference in skill level between low belts and high belts.
Basically nobody lower than Black belt was even able to use anything of Judo in sparrings against me at all ...
I have very medicore BJJ skills ( Average blue belt) but i tapped all kind of Judo players(even brownbelts) very quickly for the most part as soon as we were on the ground. Concerning the stand up almost nobody was able to throw me when we did light mma sparring.
So the first impression u could get is :
Judo is far too complicated and too difficult to be used in real fighting situations.
To some Point i do agree.
However i did also "fight/do sparring" with some really good blackbelts and i can tell u that some of them made me realise that their stuff works ! Its just that u have to be very very good at what u are doing.
A good example for this is Karo Parysan ( UFC fighter)
He uses sick Judo throws and techniques in many of his fights.
Here is another video that i liked that shows how Judo can work in case u are good at it
Other things i noticed while training Judo and doing lots of sparring with Judokas.
+ many good judokas have pehnomenal balance ! Its so hard to take them down.
+ some good Judokas have a sick Kesa Gatame ( scarf Hold) that can be used perfectly for Ground and Pound
Some of the blackbelts caught me in Kesa gatame and i could not get out no matter how hard i tried
- many Judokas are surprisingly bad on the ground ( since Judo is a stand up martial arts in teh first place)
Due to some specific Judo tournament rules they totally suck at defending their back ^^. I finished plenty of Judokas with the simple RNC from BJJ.
- Many Judokas feel superior to Kickboxers and Boxers but are totally lost as soon as they face one ^^
Side note
Judo also has some very gay "dancing" stuff that has to be learned for blue, brown and black belt demonstrations
Like the Kata in shotokan Karate
here is an example
But unlike traditional Karate
most Judo clubs have the emphasize on fighting while Kata is only for belt demonstrations
Conclusion
Modern Judo is a Sport that can be a lot of fun
It is the very beautiful art of throwing people and also works in real fighting situations
However it is insanely difficult to execute
If u are searching for a nice Hobby u might find a good friend in Judo
If u aim to become a better fighter be aware that Judo requires a shitload of Trainig to be used effective.
In fact all the guys i met that were good at it have trained in Judo for at least 8 years .. most of them 5 times a week.
The other Judo guys did fail hardcore at applying Judo to "real" fighting situations.
In my experience the first 3 years u probably wont be able to apply any of the throws u learned to real fighting situations.
so far.
Allthough i am not a 50 year old who has studied 30years of martial arts i think i gained some knowledge in all of the styles and have sparred with enough people from those styles (both with white and brown/black belts) to be ablte to review them a bit for beginners.
Jiu-Jitsu (Japanese Self defence)
Intension:
traditional japanese Jiu Jitsu is a self defence System heavily relying on stand up lock techniques and throws.
It is designed to defend yourself in the streets vs 1 attacker (armed or unarmed) by using wrist, body, arm,Joints and shoulder locks from a standing position while also adding some throws to escape clinch situations to your arsnel. Kicks and punches to vital Points ( testicles, throat, Eyes) are also part of Jiu Jitsu allthough the skillz for proper powerfull striking and kicking are not really thaught too well in traditional Jiu Jitsu
Training methods are very traditional and often u train the movements and tequniques into air or with a 100% cooperating partner.
In general u are supposed to learn to react properly using a defensive move against an attacking opponent.
he acts offensive while u react to defend.
My Conclusion
traditional japanese Jiu Jitsu is looking great in theorey but rarely ever works in reality.
The trainig methods are just not realistic enough to simulate a real situation.
Not often will someone who has trained japanese Jiu Jitsu for 10 years get heavily beaten up in a streetfight by a Boxer who only trained for 2 years.
However if u are a really athletic person who trains hard on his jap. Jiu Jitsu showing great dedication u might be ablte to defend yourself vs most drunken idiots and wanna be brawlers pretty good while not taking any damage yoruself.
Some of the techniques tought are really good to defend yourself vs. people of same size and strength in a RL street situation. + U Also learn some stuff to defend yourself on teh ground. Allthough the Ground fighting part is very very limitied
it can still make the difference and save ure ass in a real self defence situation.
Ju_Jutsu
Ju Jutsu is a modern sports martial arts especially popular in central Europe. Intension
Learn realistic fighting without risking your health.
modern Ju_Jutsu is like MMA for pussies
It has all the elements of Stand up and ground fighting but with a lot more rules to protect the fighters
-No full contact hits to the head ( neither punches nor kicks to the head are allowed to do any visuable damage to your opponent)
-No punches or knees on the ground except for non contact point fighting punches to the head for points are allowed.
- Shin protection is mandatory ( which basically makes low kicks almost pointless
- No ellbows or knees to the head
here is a Video or modern Ju_Jutsu competition in Germany in which a friend of mine participated
Ju Jutsu also has a Self Defence programm within their martial arts.
Training methods vary a lot from Trainer to Trainer and there are also many bad Dojos that claim to do JU-Jutsu but actually are far away from being a modern light contact MMA style
Conclusion :
Its fun
U learn a lot of things that are helpfull for real fights but on the same time u must be aware that there is still a difference
in what u do and what real fights are. Game becomes a little different when its allowed to hit as hard as u can ^^
Still this can be a very good style for both self defence and having fun
Reviews of the other martial arts will follow in future blogposts
my mom will go to some teaching of this orgnaisation.
She is allready pretty fucked up concerning her beliefes
She thinks she has magic powers given from jesus > the ones David Blane has >-<
She also thinks that every good on earth directly is from Jesus and every bad directly from Satan T_T
she is pretty crazy
However i am afraid a bit it will go on a new Level.
I have no clue about this orgnaisation and what they are doing.
Just would not be happy if some day i find out my mother commited suicide to serve as fuel for the spacship of God that he can arrive faster at earth ...

the next few hands he always minraised button and folded all sblinds.
I realized he is a giant nit who folds a lot postflop and preflop and never bluffs
at one point he had chipped up to 50bb ( i lost all in 88vshis QJ on Q high flop^^) and raised to 1$ .... i call 50c from sb with 83s
flop 8s7s3d
