Grinding NL10....
  rockman255, Apr 09 2008

so.. i played 18 tables for part of the day, 9 tables later on..

i did tilt a bit in the middle of the day because i was going absolutely mad..

it should have been a better day.

i was kind of tired, and ate like a pig and probably shouldnt have played after that.

very last hand of the day is AA vs this really aggressive guy.. i misplayed it horribly and got really confused ..........
i am so upset right now

i guess i shouldnt play tired, huh. god fucking damn it.

april.. so far
  rockman255, Apr 08 2008

so, i did really good in nl5 last week, and started this monday with about 420 total and decided to move up to nl10. yesterday went fine, today was going fine, and then i started acting like a complete random douchbag. i guess thats going on tilt. so im just going to relax and play ps2 for the rest of the day and get back on track maybe really late today or just wait until tomorrow.

i don't know what came over me but i started making horrible horrible bluffs and calls and i know i wasn't in my right mind in doing so. luckily i didn't lose a whole lot, im around $440 now and was around $500 at my peak last night.

this is how april looks so far : i played nl5 fo the first 40,000 hands and nl10 for the last 5000 or so. i think i really ran cold in the beginning, and i started picking up cards and playing better in the latter half of my nl5 run.

in nl10 i have a much higher percentage of hands won overall, hands won in good position, and stuff like that. so i think it hopefully means im at least trying to play a better game, if anything.

teachers college?
  rockman255, Apr 04 2008

so i got accepted to teachers college in toronto today, like 3 days after they started sending out acceptance letters, except i dropped out of school this semester and got a bunch of f's, only after deciding i didn't want to teach anyway.. so, i'm totally not eligible, nor would i want to go

but i thought that was pretty awesome. in your face, all you teachers college hopefuls who won't get accepted this year!

:O

$80 NL5 stack?
  rockman255, Apr 04 2008

so i sit down with this guy at a full table and stayed there for a few hours while it quieted down, played some heads up, and every time another person would come we would just bust them and go back to heads up. he was pretty loose. so i figured something like this might happen.

the 2 main hands that led to this were:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/417912

although i did hold monster hands both times, you can see it was more the fact that the other player was willing to call for no apparent reason, than the fact that i had big hands.

so i have no explanation for this strange occurence, other than i got lucky. back to grinding.

terribad?
  rockman255, Apr 03 2008

maybe i am just not cut out for poker?

i am around 28500 hands now and still going absolutely no where, i started around 150 and currently am sitting around 177.

it was suggested to me that perhaps i was playing too tightly, so tried to adjust my play, i believe i play around 15% of hands now and raise 7-10% preflop.

anyway, it still feels like overpair or TPTK vs set is the bane of my poker existence.

today i had kings over a set, queens over a set, kk v aa preflop twice (on 2 different tables at the same time -_- )
JJJ over 222...

i should be able to get myself out of the situations when im beat by a set when i have something like kk or qq, maybe? because i can put overpairs on possible hands as well?

*sigh*

and i do see other people post things where over 10,000 hands they skyrocket, right? so ..

this one was my personal favorite hand.

the fucking guy doesnt shove on the river, and took about 30 seconds to call me. i dont think he was multitabling. what the fuck.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/417588

anyway, maybe im supposed to be profiting from well placed cbets and lots of awesome folds in the meantime, and not rely on monster hands, but everyone tells me i need to stack off in nl5, right?

i want to cry

i can't play AA KK QQ AK worth a damn?
  rockman255, Apr 02 2008

nobody should actually read this, but maybe if they do, they can give me some brief advice on how not to donk off all of my money when i have big hole cards.

ive linked the vast majority of losing hands from the day, i guess it gets kind of ugly near the bottom when i bluff two hands for an entire stack. ugh

and then theres a few winners and even a royal flush at the bottom

maybe its therapeutic for me to look at all these hands and just get it over with and move on. i think its been a rough 5000 hands today.
