Updates:

So about 2 weeks ago my BR dipped down to 2400 from a high of 3300 after some standard(unlucky) shots at 100NL and sub sequential run bad at 50NL when I moved back down. Since then, right around when I joined LP (coincidence??), I have grinded my BR back to 3400 as of yesterday playing mostly 50NL and PLO. I did win 4+ buyins playing 100NL, but since then have decided to stick to 50NL and PLO until I hit 5k. I know I can beat 100NL, but I want to play it safe and refine my game, while also getting used to 8 tabling. I am very comfortable at 50NL and I know I won’t tilt off any buyins. Yesterday I played a 1500 hand session where I ran 5 buyins under EV and it felt great! I really played the best poker I have in a long time and made one of my sickest calls to date, even thought I ended up losing the hand. Good thing is, I feel great going into 2010 and can’t wait to tear it up. Speaking of 2010, here are my goals.


Win 15k online
Be a 200NL/100PLO player
Play 250k Hands (Roughly 5k a week/20k a month)
Hit a 4 figure tourney score (I don’t play many tournies but will try to get some in)
Watch 2 Videos a Week

Not only do I want to accomplish these goals but I want to surpass them by as much as possible. I feel all of these goals are achievable I am excited to get started! I’m going to clear out my database in HEM for the new year and start fresh! Actually I will probably just set all the time filters to the current year since I don’t want to lose my player data, unless someone knows a way to get around this?? No big deal.

Hola (thats spanish for hello),

Pretty good week for me on the poker front. I grinded back about 10 buyins at 50NL and about 6 at 50 PLO total. On Tuesday I took another shot at 100NL and I won about 3 buyins and then another 1.5 buyins in a short session yesterday. Hold em is actually going well for me since im running decent, PLO on the other hand is doing its best to make me quit the game. Its not easy getting it in as an 80/20 or 70/30 favorite in PLO, yet everytime one of these fish make it happen for me, they hit it on the river. Very frustrating. I will say there is alot of money to be made at low stakes PLO. I'm usually the only person at the table 3betting more then AAxx, and I take down almost every pot with a cbet. Even when i do get played back at I can be sure they have the nuts/2nd nuts. Easy game. If real estate is about location, location, location, PLO is about position, position, position.

Almost done with work before some xmas vaca time. Friday, monday and tuesday I'll be working out of my house (aka getting paid to play poker, aka getting paid to get paid) and then my vacation starts wednesday and I'm off until after new years. I have alot of family to visit around xmas plus my girlfriends fam. We also have plans to go to Atlantic City one night, and might even hit up mohegan sun for new years. Definitely going to enjoy my time off and just relax, grind, enjoy being with the family/friends. I have an uncle thats fighting pancreatic cancer right now and its very aggressive, hes only 61 and theres a very good chance this could be his last christmas. If theres anything I realize in all this its that life is short and it could end tommorrow, so always enjoy the time you have with ur loved ones and the important people in your life, never take anything for granted. Anytime poker isnt going ur way and you get upset/angry, be thankful for the things you do have in your life, and suddenly poker wont seem like such a big deal anymore.

OK so ill try this again. I started adding 4 tables of 50PLO to my 4 tables of 50NL. Im on a 15' laptop so things are tight, its like i just won a game of solitaire cards flying all over. Things went pretty well tho I won 8 buyins this weekend 5 at PLO, 3 at NL. The reason I started adding PLO is cuz people suck at this game. Way more money to be won. Ive been watching a ton of vids and as I learn more I realize how much people blow at PLO. Theres usually max 1 guy per table who knows what hes doing, everyone else is either too tight/too loose/braindead. I love the guys that will stack off with AA for 100bbs or more on ANY FLOP, ANY FLOP.

Anyway, my weekend was pretty good. Consisted of poker/football/celebrating a friends bday/COD:MWF2. Any other LPers playing MWF2 on XBL hit me up my GT is Y0uGoTGoT (thats a zero in the Y0u) Will trade COD lessons for da poker lessons haha

Yo yo yo,

Whatup LP. Im new here and its officially my favorite site. Mostly because its the only poker site I can access at work (clearly a sign), but mostly because you guys are fukin hilarious and this site is the shizzznit. I stumbled upon this here site a few weeks ago and instantly fell in love/stopped working at work. That ROFL thread has kept me entertained for days, im not even sure I've done anything else for the past week, hope I get a big bonus this year. Anyway im starting this blog for 2 reasons. Reason 1 - gloating, i will gloat about my minor successes, and Reason 2 - bitching, i will bitch about bad luck keeping me from other minor successes. Actually im hoping this will help keep me focused on my goals for poker/life, but thats not gonna happen so fck it.

About Me - i work for a big invesetment bank here in NYC and I play poker pretty much everyday but I dont have all the time in the world so I maybe get in 5k hands a week. I started taking poker seriously a few months ago and I have built my 200 into roughly 2500 from 10NL to now 50NL. I was up to 3100 and took shots at 100NL, obviously the deck pooped on me and then laughed, rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat, here I am again at 50NL. I dk why I cant run good ONCE when I try to move up. Whateva. I find myself surrounded my monkeys but I constantly run into their good hands. They raise half their hands for an hour then wake up with KK when i have QQ. Bastards. Ive sort of accepted the fact that im lucky in life but not in poker, or maybe its just selective memory. Either way, ill keep grinding and see where it takes me.
